  1. @GuestSingh Care to explain why you posted my private info on this site and have been trolling my posts this whole time? Why not meet in discourse as invited? I do not believe your behavior is befitting a Sikh, let alone a Khalsa.

  5. Good, it shouldn't have been dealt in courts to begin with. Singhs who are taking Panj pyares role should've been involved in this whole fiasco, this is where leadership is failing squarely. In fact no youths should've been involved in the protest during interfaith marriage as its broader panthic issue where leaders need to be get involved work out solution case by case basis. There are so many scenarios where youths are protesting and blocking failing to provide any kind of adequate solution or accommodation and try to enforce it with intimidation- leaving family with no choice to call authorities. Singhs taking role of panj pyares should take leadership role little more seriously. I am sorry panj pyares role is not part time job, they are supposed to deal with issues in the community. They should be further honored, listen to, paid to do full time duties so they can concentrate on their role full time leave their jobs aside. When is the last time you heard police are called in churches in west to deal with internal disputes? Almost never heard of, because pastors get honored, get paid and do their job full time.

  6. Sant gyani gurbachan singh bhindranwale points out five khands being are state of mind, fifth -sachkhand being turiya avastha and turiyatith avastha. Now turiya avastha/turiya atith avastha are NOT a new term-exclusive to sikhs only, its ancient term which explains liberated being state of mind which is mentioned/realized by ancient indic religions/literature/scriptures and saints. Just google turiya you will know what i mean. Satguru also is not a new term, also new definition cannot be limited to sargun saroop of sri guru granth sahib ji as vaho vaho bani nirankar hai itself pointing towards universal Satguru- essence meaning of satguru and satguruparsad- Sat-eternal and Guru being- chaitan-pure universal consciouness Anand- Bliss- again same as ancient- Sat Chit Ananda. Regarding amrit - Gurbani also takes us to ultimate meaning of amrit- which is inner amrit- Nau Nidhh Amrit prabh ka naaam, dehi meh iska bisram || Esoteric Amrit is also mentioned in indic literature- asato ma sadgamaya tamaso ma jyotirgamaya mrtyorma amrtam gamaya om shanti shanti shanti. Lead me from the asat to the sat. Lead me from darkness to light. Lead me from death to immortality Om Peace Peace Peace. (Brhadaranyaka Upanishad — I.iii.28) Time to open your mind aperture to vast expansive consciousness and smell the coffee, i know ego likes to have sense of security, oh i am amritdhari- i have automatic sachkhand express liberation card!

  7. You need Amrit to get Mukhti bro, there are plenty of Sakhis that prove that. Even in higher up realms, it takes a large amount of Spiritual Power and Kamai to be born human, let alone be born into a Sikhi family. Even Devtas come into Sikh families to get Amrit and gain Mukhti.

  9. Yes, it can be, because in Sikhism, the self is a part of God. Therefore reflection on one's self is meditation on God. This concept is called Aatam Raam, God within Self: ਆਤਮ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਮੁ ਰਾਮ ਮਹਿ ਆਤਮੁ ਚੀਨਸਿ ਗੁਰ ਬੀਚਾਰਾ ॥ Aatham Mehi Raam Raam Mehi Aatham Cheenas Gur Beechaaraa || The Lord is in the soul, and the soul is in the Lord. 13. Bachittar Natak tells us for all the yugs there is only one Satguru. Vishnu and his incarnations were never satguru and they came in previous yugs(ages).
    1 point
  14. Bachittar Natak has said who is Satguru and we say their names everyday in the Khalsa Panth ardas(Sri Guru Nanak dev ji to Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji). Only satguru can grant mukhti and they have been disclosed to the world by Vaheguru. Also anyone following satguru teachings would run to take amrit. The Gursikhs love the satguru's hukam. Anyone in the past who has received mukhti as received it by Satguru. Gurbani clearly says this. To the people learning. Start reading from Raag Nat Naaraayan and keep reading. A lot is revealed on this topic by satguru. I am currently reading Raag Maaroo and if more is revealed by satguru I will provide direct quotes.

  17. Yup, and any person claiming to do sehaj paath would have came across the Gurbani Shabads that clearly state this. These Shabads also tell the person listening, follow the hukam of Vaheguru and be content with it. Vaheguru hukam is to take Amrit from the Punj Pyare. Yet a person who is doing sehaj paath finds this hukam to be sour. Too bad his reading is only in pride. As satguru says, he makes the deserved souls understand and others are lead away by Vaheguru deeper into Maya. Its not in our ability to make these guys understand. All we can do is point to the source.

  18. Maybe go back and learn the concept of Sargun, Nirgun and how it interlinks with the Shabad. The fact that you don't seem to even know who or what Guru Nanak Dev Ji was is a sign of just how daft your attempts to seem reasonable are.

  19. The Amrit required, that I've read about so far doing sehajpaath, is the Amrit of the Naam. Total devotion, love and sacrifice to the One. Being absorbed into the light of the One. Humanity has been on earth a long time, Gurbani speaks of many many worlds and ages. All these beings have to be born a male sikh or they're out of luck?

  20. There's wisdom in every religion, all the prophets who came before Satguru Nanak Dev Ji can take their followers far...but not to Sach Khand. Only with the help of a Satguru can one reach God, and the only Satguru around (ever) has been th Shabad Guru in the form of Guru Granth Sahib Ji now.

  23. If they did lie to avoid legal ramifications I agree it is shameful behaviour. If you claim to be Sikh and were part of the protest then have the strength of character and conviction to stand by your views and beliefs. Did Singh's in the past who took part in various protests and deliberately court arrest, them tell lies to escape ramifications?? The whole episode was wholly avoidable, the flagrant disregard for Sikh rehit Maryada in the interest of making money by the notorious committee of this Gurdwara was the sole cause of this embarrassment. It backfired massively, the committee thought by deliberately fabricating and sensationalising their statements to the police a heavy handed approach would cause the protest to fail and send our a message to the community to deter future protests and allow the committee to carry on undermining rehit for financial gain. The youth are the only ones to take a stand on such issues, if the community tried to rely on organisations such as Sikh Council etc etc who have proven themselves to be toothless we would see very little action...These organisations claim go represent Sikhs then hold secret meetings with the Indian government without causing consulting the community they claim to represent...shameless.

  24. Jatt are farmers. Lubana are merchant class. Usually lubanas are well educated and rich because trading was a good business. Lubanas even traded via ships as can be seen from the sakhi of bhai lakhan shah lubana during Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahibs time. I would tell ur parents that caste shouldnt matter in sikhi. That he is from a good sikh family and is well educated. Also that they have the same language and culture mostly. Also tell them most jatts are drug addicts these days and not highly educated. There is no guarantee that anyone jatt thry choose will be a good person. These days divorce rates are increasing. So marrying a person you know for 7 years is a better guarantee of success. Also tell ur parents nit to worry abt wat ppl say. You are not doing a bad thing. You are not marrying out of religion or ethnicity. Only caste. And since we no longer do the caste work, it shouldnt matter. Those ppl who will talk abt ur family will not support u in divorce or unhappy marriage. So tell ur parents. As long as u my parents are behind me. Noone has the right to talk bad abt me. Also evolution favors diversity. So if we keep marrying jatt ppl to jatts, similar mutations can accumulate leading to diseases. So its better to branch out a little bit. Not too much that we lose our cultural and linguistic identity but enough. Like in my family sandhus married an uppal who married a gill who married a dhaliwal. If u go far enough, all the gots/gotras will have once married into ur family. Of course science says beyond 3rd degree relatives, the risk for genetic diseases is the same as marrying a stranger.

  25. So you want Nihangs to fight for people like you.... the same people who in 1920 supported the creation of SGPC & did nothing when the British adopted a shoot on site policy for any Nihang or Singh dressed in blue bana.... you... the same people who stood back and watched as Nihangs were forcefully removed from guru ghars across panjab & even refused langer... you the same sangat who watched Nihangs have to go into exile to Hazur Sahib & leave panjab....... now you people want Nihangs to fight & protect you?! Mahraj pulled his fauj back along time ago.... there’s even a Bachan in Bani that backs this up.... but I won’t be telling you what Bani or bachan that is 96 crore fauj WILL fight.... those who know, know when & why...... those who don’t call themselves ‘akalifauj’ but have nothing ‘akali’ about them. My offer still stands by the way..... I’ll pay for your flights etc to go to Hazur Sahib & run your mouth like you do on here.... and please tell the women in Hazur Sahib that they should be getting khanda da amrit.... I want to see how long it takes before 1 of them slaps the tatti off your face. We’ve been through this many times..... Hazur Sahib ain’t hard to find.... go there and ask the women what they think then tell them you believe they should take Khande di Pahul..... you will get all the answers you need. Sikhi in Hazur Sahib puts panjab to shame.... do the maths

  26. The Silent Retreat Four monks decided to meditate silently without speaking for two weeks. They began with enthusiasm and no one said a word the whole day. By nightfall of the first day, the candle began to flicker and then went out. The first monk blurted out, "Oh, no! The candle is out." The second monk said, "Hey! We are not supposed to speak!" The third monk said in an irritated voice, "What is this? Why did you two break the silence?" The fourth monk smiled and said, "Wow! I'm the only one who hasn't spoken." ~ Reflections: Each monk broke the silence for a different reason, each of which is a common stumbling block in our inner journey: distraction, judgement, anger and pride. The first monk got distracted by one aspect of his experience (the candle) and forgot what was more important - the practice of witnessing without reacting. The second monk was more worried about others following the rules than in actually practicing himself. He was quick to judge without noticing that he himself was guilty of what he was criticizing. The third monk let his anger towards the first two monks affect him. The singular burst of anger ruined the effort of the day. The fourth monk lost his way because of pride. He was convinced he was superior to the others, proving his ignorance. Why did the fourth monk speak at all? He could have simply maintained his silence and he would have been successful in his endeavor. But if he had, chances are, the other three might have continued to argue and not even noticed his silence. Some people are like this. Their motto is "If I'm doing something good, but no one notices, I might as well not be doing it at all." They believe that the reward is not in the effort, but in the recognition. There is a beautiful quote, "It is the Provence of knowledge to speak; it is the privilege of wisdom to listen." As we learn to truly listen, witness and observe without impulsively reacting with distraction, judgement, anger and pride, then we understand the true meaning of silence.

  28. The reason there are no Sikh areas or 'strong holds' like muslims have is because Sikhs are spread out all over the UK. Hence theres no single area where Sikhs are in huge numbers. Muslims be it pakistanis or bengalis live in ghettosised and deprived areas mostly in council owned properties and estates. They are more of a close knit community. They know, no one likes muslims so they feel like the only place they belong is in muslim ghettos were they feel safe and protected. Especially as they stand out with their skull caps and hijabs. Sikhs by and large are not a united community to begin with. Everyone is out for themselves instead of looking out for one another. We form many different castes. Which are divided and dont mix with each other. What we need to do is create Sikh areas. this way our community will be much stronger. If we are united and form sikh strongholds we will be feared. At the moment Sikhs are too thinly scattered all over the uk. There are a few Sikh pockets but it is not enough. Hence one of the reasons I was thinking of moving to a more Sikh populated area.

  29. How do we know they lied? They said they were protesting the use of funds, maybe they were...even if they were protesting the use of funds for a marriage. The criminal penalty was steep. You really want them to go to prison for a long long time? I hear people saying the sangat needs more sacrifice, maybe it does, but are those calling for it willing to do it themselves? Maybe if they'd been charged with disturbing the peace they could just plead guilty , but they were up on serious charges totally misrepresented by police and media.

Why couldn't they just tell the truth and face the music.. If they had conviction in what they believe Calling someone shameful and someone a apostate are totally different things.. I love how your relativism helps you justify their actions.. I guess you think its OK to just lie MOD note- Please contain your replies to one post, it isn't hard.

  33. Don’t be getting emotional because of valentines day and all that. Maybe it was a blessing in disguise that he left. You shouldn’t love him, as he obviously does not love you. It needs some time to recover and it will. Then you will see what a fool he made of you and don’t be taken advantage of again. Make your mind and soul strong, so nobody can hurt you again. You haven’t lost your heart or soul, they’re still there. But they’ve been hurt and you need to work on loving yourself, instead of somebody else. You are worth way more than anybody else belittling you, so respect your soul and your heart will heal itself. Like Bhforce paji has, Waheguru is the only one that truly loves us, so ask them for help whenever you need it to guide you on the right path. For the anxiety, also do Simran. That will help you to relax, and accept Hukam, that you were not meant to be with him, for your best interests. Love God instead.

  34. goodluck finding a sikh area in the uk... the old strongholds of handsworth, smethwick, southall, hounslow, slough etc all been taken over by suleh, kosovans, romanians, kurds etc a lot of apneh have moved out of these areas and into more nicer areas... e.g. handsworth to handsworth wood, to great barr/park hall and now on to sutton coldfield. This trend is similar in places like west london where the old southall lot moved to nicer areas.

  35. Well, your first mistake was having a boyfriend. But I can't really blame you for that, because probably no one at the Gurdwara every told you not to date. The "bhais" just do kirtan, they don't tell young people what they're supposed to do to live a happy Sikh life in the West. Anyway, it's not a bad thing that you discovered the truth. You should be happy that God showed you the reality, not sad. Don't think about death, God gave new a new lease on life. In the future, you should not date. You should ask your relatives to find a good man for you to marry. This is the real truth. Try to do paath of Shabad Hazarey every day: http://www.sikhiwiki.org/index.php/Shabad_Hazaray Shabad Hazarey: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n_L-fO3ocZo Also you can listen to Dukh Bhanjani Sahib: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=83WnhAU4BWg

  40. Clever wording! You mean they lies under oath as Sikhs I'm guessing on a ghutka.. And here was me thinking in sikhi we had a tradition of standing up for our beliefs and not denying them.. They should be ashamed of themselves they couldn't face the consequences of their actions which if they did it for their beliefs should have been easy. Their sikhi was so cheap they lied to get off what was probably only ever going to be a small fine. If these guys aren't the guardians of sikhi they are the problem.. 49. They followed all forms of lifestyle. Guru Nanak Dev Ji did Farm-work and worked in a shop, Bhai Lehna Ji (prior to becoming the second Nanak) used to lead processions to Naina Devi but afterwards he started running schools essentially. Guru Hargobind Ji and Guru Gobind Singh Ji were kings alright but they gave generously. The Langar was always running, prizes for physical sports and even paids for weapons for their sikhs and so on. So basically The Guru in his various forms lived the ideal path in each of the lifestyles adopted.
