Remembering our Beloved departed Gursikhs

Recommended Posts

I wrote this this morning:

The Definition of Rena Kaur

When one loses a friend, a person grieves

The person disjoints, the person refuses to believe.

They go on thinking, that the friend will return,

but God takes the best, gives them a spot they’ve earned

When one loses a sister, a family struggles,

they try to capture all those laughs and giggles,

that they once shared, with their precious sibling

who’s left their family, without any warning.

When one loses a daughter, and their only child,

it’s easy for the parents to cry and go wild,

they’ve lost their Rena, their precious little soul,

sure they disagreed on some matters, but she meant the world.

The parents wonder, is there something they could have done?

Is it their fault that their precious little girl has gone?

The questions keep coming, but the answers are futile,

for God has his plan, which no one can reconcile.

When a religion loses an influence, such as she was,

the people come together, they remember her love.

How accepting she was, how encouraging she could be,

how much love she gave us, whether friend or enemy.

The true gift of Sikhi was bestowed upon her,

Without a doubt, and this is for sure.

The number of souls, that cried to sleep last night,

have the comfort of knowing that she merged with the light.

How could it be any other way, for our dear Rena Kaur,

a lioness, a princess, every definition of the word.

Guru took her back, along with two incredible Veers,

do you blame Him, though? He wanted the best to be near.

Some thought her weird, and some thought her dazzling,

But her presence was

felt, and it left a mark on her siblings.

We shall never forget you, dear Rena Kaur,

we love you, we love you, forever and more.

Dedicated to piyaaree Rena Kaur Bhanji, 17 years old, died May 8th 2004.

Forever with us, she’ll never ever be forgotten.

I can't really believe how quickly that happened... I knew Rena Kaur jee... and she was really something else.

Although I cry on the inside, I hope that she's happy now that she has found Waheguru forever...

Even the Sangat all knew of the accident, the spirits were still high at the Samagum (as they should be)
