Guebani isn't aa drug

here's the definition:a medicine or other substance which has a physiological effect when ingested or otherwise introduced into the body.

Gurbani is the highest medicine. And it effects your body and mind. The power of just saying the mool mantar is so strong that it can change your thinking.

I hope no one minds but I am having chaa now. Ahh relaxing. ..

Good for you.

Chaa is addictive no doubt but not in the same category as Panj Patey. So interesting choice Nihangs are making there!

I do not believe tea is harmful although studies on its impact on the body are inconclusive. I drink one cup a day of Indian tea made in the traditional way (changitraan ghaarke), not boiled dishwater known affectionately known as 'Gora chaa'. Anyways, it keeps me going for 24 hours.

If it's any consolation Bhai Rama Singh Ji used to also drink tea after the simran programmes in Hounslow, so there!

Anyone tried decaffeinated chaa?

Yes, Pg tips but didn't like th taste. Bit more expensive than the normal.

Here's how they take out the caffeine, from somebody's blogspot. I haven't put the link on as they may mind.

"Dear Sally,

Thank you for your email.

The solvent extraction process for decaffeination involves the tea leaves being 'washed' in a solvent that removes almost all of the caffeine. The tea leaves are then dried and packed in the ordinary fashion.

If steam treatment is used to remove the caffeine, it is inevitable that some of the other water soluble components will be removed at the same time, notably the water soluble antioxidant flavonoids which contribute to the taste and the leaves' antioxidant activity. We intend that the black tea leaf blend in PG Decaf provides you with a tea infusion that has the taste you would expect to find in cup of standard PG tips tea. Similarly, we intend that PG Decaf continues to give you a brew that is rich in antioxidant flavonoids. While taste is obviously a matter of personal preference, we know we could not make any claim about antioxidant flavonoids if the caffeine had been removed from the leaves using a water based steam treatment.

As I am sure that you will appreciate, the exact process carried out by PG is commercially sensitive but I do hope that this gives you a better understanding of the methodology and our reasoning.

Kind regards,

I then e-mailed back asking them which solvent was used in the process and the reply was as follows -

Dear Sally,

Thank you for your continued correspondence.

I can confirm that the the typical solvent of choice for PG tips is Dichloromethane.

If I can be of any further help or assistance, then please do not hesitate to contact me.

Kind regards,

You guys don't know about the dangers of Chaa. It landed me in rehab for 2 months, I was at the point where I'd break down and cry if I wasn't given chaa 5 times. Don't even get me started on what would happen if there was too little sugar in it. I was even banned from being given chaa at all local Gurdwaray. With Kirpa, I'm now 4 months chaa free.

lol not sure if being serious but I have seen stuff like this before lol

    • It is said a picture paints a thousand words.  But that is not necessarily true. There is one word that we jaap that encapsulates everything in the universe and time. Scientists look for the single theory that connects everything, this word is the single fact that connects everything together.
    • https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-63072113 Russia's Vladimir Putin will hold a signing ceremony on Friday to annex four more areas of Ukraine after self-styled referendums condemned by Ukraine and the West as a sham. Russian-backed officials had earlier claimed the five-day exercise secured almost total popular support. So-called votes were held in Luhansk and Donetsk in the east, and in Zaporizhzhia and Kherson in the south. The Russian president will make a major speech at the Kremlin. A stage has already been set up in Moscow's Red Square, with billboards proclaiming the four regions as part of Russia and a concert planned for the evening.  The event echoes Russia's annexation of Crimea in 2014, which also followed a discredited referendum and was heralded by a Kremlin signing followed by a presidential victory speech in parliament. That initial annexation has never been recognised by the vast majority of the international community, and nor will this.  Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the "pseudo-referendums" were worthless and did not change reality. "The territorial integrity of Ukraine will be restored. And our reaction to recognition of the results by Russia will be very harsh."  No independent monitoring of the Russian process took place and election officials were pictured going from door to door escorted by armed soldiers. "Tomorrow at 15:00 (12:00 GMT) in the St George Hall of the Grand Kremlin Palace a signing ceremony will be held on incorporating the new territories into Russia," said spokesman Dmitry Peskov. Separate agreements will be signed with the two Russian-backed separatist leaders from the east and the two Russian-appointed officials from the south. As with Crimea, Russia's two houses of parliament will formally ratify the annexation treaties next week. The Russian president is expected to address to the upper house of parliament on 4 October, three days before his 70th birthday.  The US has said it will impose sanctions on Russia because of the staged referendums, while EU member states are considering an eighth round of measures, including sanctions on anyone involved in the votes.

    • You really are full of nonsense. The reason the Gujaratis came to Britain after being expelled from Africa was because they had British citizenship, no other reason. Many of them had to live in detention camps when they arrived! They did not uplift the image of Indians by selling saris and owning corner shops, something that Punjabis were doing where they were a majority anyway.
