I spoke to a younger relative of mine in india who's currently training / on a placement in the medical profession, and she says the Indian media is causing hysteria. Apparently, it's like as if a switch has been flipped and they seem to be going all-out with a particular narrative. There are obvious problems but they've always been there since the outbreak started. Quite interesting from someone on the front line. I don't think she's a desh bhagat defending Modi. ??

It did seem like a sudden shift. Convenient.

Was saying this other day. Its been bad but consistent for some time since outbreak started but overnight India turned into 'warzone' of covid-19? Also Godi media is turning against him too courts are saying will be held account for 'murder'

Why sudden this overturn when modi bhaktas are turning against him?

The Indian media do seem to be going in pretty hard this time (which is saying something, they always take the smallest news story and blow it out of proportion), saying that, when the pandemic hit here in the UK there was a certain narrative being driven by the news channels here (especially the BBC), i stopped watching the news after a few day's because it was affecting my mental health more than any pandemic could, if you're fed the same narrative again and again you start to believe it.

India's in a bad state, they need to accept the help being given to them and put aside their huge ego of wanting to be a world superpower and put their people first for a change.

Sum's up India really, have a religious right wing lunatic in a position of power, get him to threaten healthcare professionals and then the blind sheep will follow just because he's wearing a tilak on his forehead and a religious gown, I'm thankful international media outlet's are picking up on this nonsense and reporting it, there's another news story i read of someone going on twitter and asking for oxygen for a relative and he's had a FIR issued against him.

Demonstrates the need for the right to freedom of the press. Not only nationally but internationally. Freedom of speech and freedom to assemble as well. Not saying the united states has ever lived up to our indigineous inspired bill of rights, but it is a minor gem and the only saving grace of this country.

Censoring your own people? Horrible tyranny. Trying to censor the worlds speech? Lol. Stupid and crazy.

was watching this last night. They're an independent channel.  Its the biggest cremation ground in kanpur, Up, and people have been waiting since 2 in the afternoon to get their relatives cremated. A lot of anger in the people, not happy with the government.

There's a Sikh family @13:30  feel so sorry for them. ?

Bodies are just left on the floor! no dignity what so ever. Family members are having to drag the wood themselves, while the guys working there are keep on asking for money!   No humanity or dignity at all.

The guys at the office are lying about the numbers of bodied that have been cremated.

I read somewhere that India uses around 1% of its GDP on healthcare!

I've been to those small hospitals in Punjab and they are absolutely filthy!   filth everywhere, flies hovering around everywhere, sinks covered in brown stuff, litter everywhere,  Its appalling.

The ladies cleaning the floor with mops, just use the same dirty mops.

The bigger ones are better though.

    • yeh it's true, we shouldn't be lazy and need to learn jhatka shikaar. It doesn't help some of grew up in surrounding areas like Slough and Southall where everyone thought it was super bad for amrit dharis to eat meat, and they were following Sant babas and jathas, and instead the Singhs should have been normalising jhatka just like the recent world war soldiers did. We are trying to rectifiy this and khalsa should learn jhatka.  But I am just writing about bhog for those that are still learning rehit. As I explained, there are all these negative influences in the panth that talk against rehit, but this shouldn't deter us from taking khanda pahul, no matter what level of rehit we are!
    • How is it going to help? The link is of a Sikh hunter. Fine, but what good does that do the lazy Sikh who ate khulla maas in a restaurant? By the way, for the OP, yes, it's against rehit to eat khulla maas.
    • Yeah, Sikhs should do bhog of food they eat. But the point of bhog is to only do bhog of food which is fit to be presented to Maharaj. It's not maryada to do bhog of khulla maas and pretend it's OK to eat. It's not. Come on, bro, you should know better than to bring this Sakhi into it. Is this Sikh in the restaurant accompanied by Guru Gobind Singh ji? Is he fighting a dharam yudh? Or is he merely filling his belly with the nearest restaurant?  Please don't make a mockery of our puratan Singhs' sacrifices by comparing them to lazy Sikhs who eat khulla maas.
    • Seriously?? The Dhadi is trying to be cute. For those who didn't get it, he said: "Some say Maharaj killed bakras (goats). Some say he cut the heads of the Panj Piyaras. The truth is that they weren't goats. It was she-goats (ਬਕਰੀਆਂ). He jhatka'd she-goats. Not he-goats." Wow. This is possibly the stupidest thing I've ever heard in relation to Sikhi.
    • Instead of a 9 inch or larger kirpan, take a smaller kirpan and put it (without gatra) inside your smaller turban and tie the turban tightly. This keeps a kirpan on your person without interfering with the massage or alarming the masseuse. I'm not talking about a trinket but rather an actual small kirpan that fits in a sheath (you'll have to search to find one). As for ahem, "problems", you could get a male masseuse. I don't know where you are, but in most places there are professional masseuses who actually know what they are doing and can really relieve your muscle pains.
