Hi all, I sincerely apologized if this was the wrong forum to post this. I found this quote, "For this was the Khalsa created: to fight the evil, to smite the wicked, and to get rid of crisis" from somewhere, but have no idea where is it actually from. Anyone know where is this from (the scripture? page number? paragraph?) and who said this? As well, would someone be so kind to translate that or have that quote in Gurmukhi or please translate that for me to Gurmukhi? Much thanks!

http://sikhsangat.org/2014/shaheed-bhai-surinder-singh-ji-sodhi/ Bhai Surinder Singh Sodhi was the bravest of soldiers of Khalsa Panth in 20th century, forever ready to lay down his life for Panth, always tyar bar tyar to punish any Panth-dokhi, guru-nindak and carry out justice for Shaheed singhs who were killed in illegal police custody or encounters. Bhai sahib had darshan of Sant Jarnail Singh ji Khalsa in 1980. He was with Misal Shaheeda Tarna Dal, Harian wela then, doing sangat of Baba Nihal Singh ji. His close friend, Bhai Manbir Singh chaheru, had joined Taksal in 1980 and Sodhi had gone to Tarna Dal, but soon he joined ranks of Sant Jarnail Singh ji Kha…

WJKK WJKF I have question regarding importance of Dussehra in Sikhism. I read about it in source http://www.manglacharan.com/2010/10/dusshera-gurbilas-patshahi-10.html . It seems to me Brahminical practice. There are some other such condemned practices like Shraadh, Hom or Havan etc. Can anyone put some light over it. Will be very grateful Thankyou Amanpreet Singh

I found this on a Christian website. Waheguru waheguru waheguru waheguru waheguru waheguru waheguru. It's cool "I will wish that when I die, I take with me the love of my friends; The respect of my enemies; The smile of the man I could have beaten down, but chose not to; And the gratitude of he who I helped back upon his feet. May my life have caused more smiles then tears; More assurances then fears. Give me the strength to be graceful, and the grace to be strong. Grant me the sense to know when to hold my ground, and when to realize the battle is not mine. Please keep my actions more Godlike then manlike. Please forgive me when I fail, and remind me to forgive the fai…

How much importance is given to the Devi/Devte in Gurbani? He Created in the past, creates in the present and shall create in the future the beings including insects, moths, deer and snakes. ਦੇਵ ਅਦੇਵ ਖਪੇ ਅਹੰਮੇਵ ਨ ਭੇਵ ਲਖਿਓ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਸਿਉ ਭਰਮਾਏ ॥ The gods and demons have been consumed in ego, but could not know the mystery of the Lord, being engrossed in delusion. ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਨ ਕਤੇਬ ਕੁਰਾਨ ਹਸੇਬ ਥਕੇ ਕਰ ਹਾਥ ਨ ਆਏ ॥ The Vedas, Puranas, Katebs and the Quran have tired of giving His account, but the Lord could not be comprehended. http://sttm.co/s/7429/75375 ਦ…

listened to katha about this a while back, but can't find the video now. I believe the story of the churning of the ocean is mentioned in bani as well. The Devte decided to churn the ocean to get amrit, the nectar of immortality, which was right at the bottom of the ocean. But it was a difficult task and they had to ask the demons to help them. Using a giant snake, a mountain and a turtle(Vishnu) they started churning the ocean. The demons complained that why should they hold the tail end of the snake? so they swapped and the devte held the tail end while the demons held the head, the exhaustion resulted in the snake releasing poison and toxic air towards the demons…

Pooranshami is a full moon which happens every month and is celebrated as Guru Nanak Dev Ji's birthday. According to Sant Nand Singh Ji if we can we should stay up at night and do Path if you stay up for as long as you can you get the merit(Is it the right word) as one amrit vela. If you stay uo the entire night and day you get the merit of a year worth of amrit vela. Sant Nand Singh Ji also said that Guru Nanak Dev Ji was born at 12:51 am. So if you are staying up at least stay up untill 12:51. If you are worried you will miss amrit vela you don't have to stay up at night. Just do simrin while sleeping.

Quite cool, a sundial or sun clock at Harmandir Sahib. Its from the time of the Sikh empire. I've never seen it before but its along the bridge that connects the Dharshan Deori and Harmandir Sahib. Nice bit of history! hopefully they won't destroy it!
