The Metropolitian Police Commissioner, Sir Ian Blair will visit Dasmesh Darbar Gurdwara, Roseberry Ave. in East London tomorrow, Friday 15th July at 2pm. He will be there to reassure the Sikh community in full view of the media. This is a direct consequence of the recent meeting held with the Met. Police by Sikhs and continued pressure from Sikh organisations. After his address to the sangat he will be handed a written record of the Sikh community's concerns. If you can make it please try and attend. Please inform other people to attend; a god presence is essential.

Worth reading all of it, but the Met's own guidelines on the use of reasonable force is especially interesting. http://content.met.police.uk/News/Update-and-advice-for-businesses/1260269396125/1257246745756 Reasonable Force Does the law protect me? What is 'reasonable force'? Anyone can use reasonable force to protect themselves or others, or to carry out an arrest or to prevent crime. You are not expected to make fine judgements over the level of force you use in the heat of the moment. So long as you only do what you honestly and instinctively believe is necessary in the heat of the moment that would be the strongest evidence of you acting lawfully and in self-defe…

Is this true?, I asked him and he said it was a symbol of slavery. I told him for us it was a symbol of strength and freedom. He said Shias wear a bangle thing and that they were called karras... Also are Shias the shame (in characteristics) as the Sunnis? (I know their history is different btw)

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh i have a question which is difficult to phrase, so please forgive me for my ignorance. i was talking to someone about sikh history. this person told me that many things are metaphors. im not sure exactly what he meant by that, did he mean that it didn't happen? one thing i greatly disagreed with what he said was about Baba Deep Singh Jee. i believe that his head did get cut off, and he didnt stop fighting until he reached harmandir sahib. i dont care about science saying that it is not physically possible. with the power of naam you can do anything. again this person told me it was a metaphor. they tried to exp…

I opened up a new business recently. Its a Holistic therapy clinic offering various different therapys such as reiki, yoga, diet and nutrition, ayurveda ect. The only issue is not getting enough clients through the door. Anyone know best ways to advertise? I have done the whole door to door flyers. It worked a bit. But not enough to keep the business going. Now I am thinking of closing it as overheads are to high. I have heard of google ads. but not sure if its worth it. Anyone know best ways to advertise a high street therapy clinic. One issue is people often are sceptical of natural therapys and dont think it will help them so wont give it a try even t…

Jaspreet Singh’s novel Helium confronts memories of the 1984 pogrom against the Sikhs. http://metro.co.uk/2013/11/26/jaspreet-singhs-harrowing-novel-of-genocide-in-the-wake-of-indira-gandhis-assassination-4201439/ In November 1984, after Indira Gandhi’s assassination, politicians of India’s Congress party directed mobs to burn alive as many Sikhs as possible. Members of parliament and cabinet ministers distributed kerosene oil and white phosphorous. Witnesses talked about the use of rubber tyres to trap the target, create thick clouds of toxins and facilitate combustion. I was a teenager in Delhi. A mob passed our block, attacking Sikhs on the street. We hid in a neigh…

Should the media stop playing his songs. Due to fresh new allegations against him. Or should the 'eternal pop singer, ' worshipped by millions still get his songs played. How many still see him as their idol and dance to his his tracks like some brown Jackson double?

There was a programme called "Michael Jackson: What Really Happened?" about the entire downfall of Michael Jackson. I didn't watch all of it because of constant interruptions but there was one bit where they were talking about one of MJ's bedrooms. Don't know which one it is but outside his bedroom MJ keeps life-sized figures of Sikh soldiers as protection from ghosts. They were very obviously Sikh, with turbans and beards. One was wearing a green uniform (not camoflage). Anyone else see this?

did anyone watch it? this program showed beautiful footage of darbar sahib but as usual when it came to talking about Sikhs they got our history al wrong. first the <banned word filter activated> comes out with words to the effect of "the religioon [sikhism] sprung out between interaction between islam and hindus,"or something stupid along those lines. the midinformed speng went on to say that the land of DARBAR SAHIB WAS GIFTED TO US MY THE MUSLIM EMPEROR AKHBAR. this is not only false and misleading information but its an insult. Darbar Sahib was a dence jungle which was turned into a prosperous city by Satguru Raamdas Sahib and His Gursikh Sangat who alone found…
