With Maharaj's kirpa i got to experience something very out of this world carrying Maharaj's palki on my shoulder. If you ever get a chance to do it at any Gurdwara. Do it with utmost pyare and sharda.............all i can say is Maharaj is always present and do some push ups before because Maharaj weighs a lot :biggrin2:

As for Inderjit Rayat, the man just himself admitted to man slaughter charges because his lawyer and prosecution came to a deal that if he admits to this he will be out soon. He took the easy way out instead of spending another few decades in jail fighting this case he thought okay I will admit to these charges and get out soon. People on the inside generally know of this, yet you are still making him like he is the mastermind behind all of this. Interesting to read that Indian embassy officials Surinder Malik and Davinder Singh Ahluwalia were asked to leave Canada when the Canadians found out their spying network and attempts to destablise Sikh movements. The Canadians should highlight this more to the media.

The Damdami Taksal stance is thus: 1) It is present it the Sri Adi Granth Sahib Ji, Kartarpuri Bir. It has been tested to see if the ink, handwritting and Ang is the same as the rest of the Baani. It has passed these tests. 2) It is present in the Bhai Banno Bir. 3) It is present in the Swaroop written by Bhai Mani Singh Ji. The same tests have been applied and it has passed. 4) It is in the four Biraa written by Baba Deep Singh Ji. These four Biraa are installed in four out of the five takhts (obviously not Akaal Takht). These swaroops match, word for word, the swaroop written by Bhai Mani Singh Ji. Daas has got an image of the swaroop written by Bhai Mani Singh Ji, but it only shows the first Ang, and a caption at the bottom stating that RaagMaalaa is present in this Bir. Some people say Akaal Takhat held Randhir Singh in high esteem. Well recently a certain Prakash Badal was also given faqar e quam title.

Without adding fuel to this "fire", I just want to add that it is against the hukam of the Akaal Takht to even attempt to print a Saroop of Guru Maharaj Ji without Ragmaala. Now, how about we get back to the original topic and play nice? One other "technique" I've seen in the Katha of Giani Thakur Singh Ji is first to recite the Gurmantar normally. Then, if (or when) your mid starts wandering, you then recite (and repeat) a tuk or small shabad / salok from Gurbani (Maybe to do with Naam Simran. When your mind settles again, continue with Gurmantar abhiyaas.

Neo, I seem to remember that when the two Singhs were arrested and charged over the Air India blast some years ago you were the one that was demanding that Akal Takht issue a Hukumnama against them! This was even before the case had come to court! Now, how would that have looked if your advice had been followed and a Hukumnama condemning them had been issued and then they were found NOT GUILTY? You can have extremes on both sides, ones who make irresponsible statements and those who would like the whole community to apologise each time some Sikh makes an irresponsible statement. The biased media and the sell outs who demonise the community will never allow the Sikhs a right to reply. If they did then we need to point out that the statement was made at an emotional time. If the media doesn't understand that then there's not much we can do about that.

you have to run towards the Palki sahib as soon as you see it, and either squish your way in to carry or throw someone out of the way. Now that the Palki Sahib securely on your shoulder, you have to try and hold your position the best you can from over zealous Sikhs who will try to push you out of the way. This is best done by Hip checking anyone who tries to push you

Osho is not a big fan of religion so he is always cussing it. I don't think he is bigging himself up because if you watch or read more of his material he denies his existence to body, mind etc. He doesn't like how in religion people read scripture but never understand it - hence why they are so many different interpretations and fights caused over scripture because people believe their take on scripture is correct. He believes that only the true master who wrote the scripture can give the correct interpretation and for this to be done the master/guru needs to be alive. BTW Osho is a BIG believer of saints as he keeps going on and on about them LOL. Although what osho says there is very blunt and rude as guru ji is sadha ang sangea.

Don't worry you are fine; you've already been peshed now. Even though the punj pyare did not know everything guru ji knows as he is antarjami. Work on your lifestyle now innit. Had a rough look, will post half today and half tomorrow it seems to be a document prepared in 1882 AD by various Akharas. It has the Mohars of Mahant Biyan Das Ji, Dastakhat of Mahant Sewa Das Akhara, Mahant Manda Das etc. It makes reference to Raja Narinder Bahadur ( Possibly Narinder Singh of Patiala state). It relates to ten conditions (shartan) of the Hukumnama of Abchalnagar Sahib signed by Doola Singh and Babalhen (?) Singh. The attending Singhs and mahants of Amritsar saw this Hukumnama in both Gurmukhi and Persian. All the Singhs, Mahants and Pujaris accepted all ten conditions as all Gurdwaras, Akharas and Dharamsalas are the houses of Guru Parmeshar and from the Ad Guru to Dasme Guru both the Maryada has been considered as being equal. The Bhekh Udasi started by Baba Sri Chand who was an celibate give up women, meat, wine, theft and gambling and now this is the tradition in all the Akharas upto now. If any Mahant or Sant takes to such things then he is relieved of his seat. This is also the tradition in all Gurdwaras, These are run under the instructions of the Hakam (Government?). If any Pujari, Singh, Bihamgam or Sarbrah becomes corrupt then they should be relived of their duties. If any of them commits fraud or takes any money from the Gurdwara then he should be given the relevant punishment and after the return of the items be taken back and from then on he should be considered as one who has transgressed. A person such as this wants to see the destruction of the Gurdwara, all Gurdwaras and Akharas have the same type of management.

Question to everyone reading the above post. I have a question that somewhat goes along with this post. Is there a difference or is there something special with Guru Granth Sahib Ji at Darbar sahib, than the one in any other gurdwara sahib? Why do people seem to flock and push each other just to touch the palki, or get darshan inside Darbar sahib.

I say we need to play smart for the sake of betterment of the panth- use soft target book (very good analysis ) to get questionable sikh figures- potential GOI agents, and declare them GOI agents openly in the nagar kirtan next year and create a hysteria and hype so media picks up....!! I have no sympathy for these guys who go openly threaten to kill 50,000 hindus in new york madison square garden it was shown by CBC and youths shown in ISYF video shown by CBC where bunch of sikh youths (looks like 30+) openly talks about some plot and declare at this point does not even matter if innocent sikhs have to pay their price..!! We need to do some damage control in the media and stay away from these questionable characters in the panth, condemn them at every chance we get but more importantly its a right thing to do we need to uphold khalsa ideals than following our own little tribal associations..!!. I stay away from all the nagar kirtan but sikhs with any ethics who puts khalsa ideals first than tribal mentality second need to decide and declare either a) declare these goons as extremist and declare sikh community at large in canada have nothing to do with these people or b) declare these individuals as GOI agents..!!!

Not sure we should assimilate! I don't wish to become part of the Borg collective! You will never be able to please those who demand we "integrate". There will always be some sticking point regarding us not being quite this or that, depending on the criteria an individual uses to measure these kind of things. The best you can be is true to yourself and treat everyone you encounter with respect. If that's not good enough for some people then those same people are best avoided.

All the above is relevant advice, particularly the not giving 'importance' to interrupting thoughts. When a distraction enters the mind... smile. It's there because it is a personal experience (something you saw, heard, felt). Don't feel upset/panicked/worried/depressed, understand that your present action (bhagti) is the answer to ensuring that all experiences here on, are pavitar. It's usually the hurt of stress/bad experience that brings us to remember Vaheguru. Acknowledge it, relax and it will swiftly pass by. Fight to remove it... and it will stay (even if in a subtle form). Rather than risk your simran being interrupted, prepare the focus/concentration before hand, this is what Sant advise, and it works. Never go straight to simran (until you are accomplished). Always start with a Japji Sahib (full dhyaan, said aloud with correct ucharan). The focus on each word, it's arthh, the flowing poetry will blow away any distraction. By the time you complete the Jap Ji Sahib, your mind should already by super-focused and in total peace. That is the perfect time to go into naam simran. As in most disciplines - a higher preparation ratio will always ensure a higher quality/level execution of the main objective. The other traditional method is to start off with sampuran Mool Mantar as already mentioned... recite it aloud until the Mantar goes internal/cyclic, then switch to Gurmantar. Sometimes we get so much anand form Mool Mantar alone, that we feel like continuing it, if so, continue it - it is Guru given anand. Another important aspect to remember is that our Guru given Mantars are a plant. In order to receive the fruit from that plant, we need to nurture, it, care for it, feed it, give is sunlight etc. These things are manifest in ‘inspiration and karam (actions)’. We must inspire ourselves by being rehitvaan, not for fanatical ‘I’m better than you’ purposes, but to please our Gur-Pita, it’s for him we keep our rehit, not to show or tell others. Ensure you are making udham towards learning arthh of Gurbani, doing vichaar on those arthh, discussing them with sangat. Ensure you are daily listening to, reading, telling ithihaas of our Guru Sahiban or esteemed Khalsa. Ensure you are staying away from manmat lok and bad environments, these people or places drain our kamai. Learn yudh vidya (in whatever form) with dedication, keep an open mind – keep learning and improving your skill, you don’t need to talk about it, learn it for yours, your families and the Panths raksha – not just to tick your ‘cultural roots box’. Do all things with umpteen nimrata, this pleases the Guru, and increases his blessings. Do nishkaam seva, be involved in ‘some’ form of seva to increase ekta/unity/pyaar in the Panth, stay away from those that create division and argument in the Panth. Do seva to promote Sikhi in whatever form you can. All the above have a huge impact on simran.. we can’t expect not to live a Gurmat life (sweet speech, respectful gaze, pure thoughts, considerate/selfless actions) and think our simran will be fruitful. Simran effects our lifestyle/personality, but the opposite is totally true too. It’s a circle. At a basic level, 'association' is also a great tool to have. If dedicate one place to sit and do simran everyday, if do it at the same time everyday (we do of course aim to do it 8 pehar), if you light a candle or wear a shawl etc, whatever you do, make it a rehit, a habit. Your mind will associate all these things with the exercises of simran and it will becmoe easier. Another thing to consider is ‘gyaan’. Many get obsessed with gyaan, this can take the form of history, theology, comparative religion etc etc. To the point that there is no effort and time for simran. And for some, the simran is simply a mechanical exercise, because gyaan is not the essential ingredient for simran. Gyaan is powerful ONLY, if it increases our bhagti, otherwise it simply serves to drag us away from Parmeshar (feed our haumai ‘I’). Many people have read and contemplated the ocean of advice on simran available on the internet by Sants. But this alone is not enough for bhagti. The gyaan is supposed to lead to a change in thought and action, and more importantly bhaav. Bhagti is only fruitful if it is done with prem. I know many academic types who have excellent knowledge over Gurbani, can quote all day, have great ithihaasik gyaan.. but struggle with ‘prem’. Prem can only come from ‘nimrata’ (humility). And nimrata increases with prema bhagti. This then effects all our thoughts and actions and creates a person who endeavours to please everyone and be the perfect son/daughter, wife/Husband, parent, friend, work colleague, neighbour, stranger etc etc. These Gurmukhs then become residents of ‘Anandpur’ no matter where on this planet they reside. Most importantly, always ask for naam di daat in your ardaas. This is the single most powerful action that will eventually lead us to recieving Gur-Prasad. Forgive the random ramble and gaps in the vichaar. Vaheguru.

What do you expect? Most western countries are not actual countries but multi-national corporations which would prefer business deals over human rights issues of minorities in India which they consider- tribal issues from tribal people. We are naive to assume countries like- US, CANADA, UK do not know human rights violations happening in INDIA, CHINA, RUSSIA. They know all that, they just don't care- passing statement from time to time of human rights violations its all strategy of being politically correct- to look good infront of UN/international stage, some of it its strategy of proxy war happening between these countries on high level, it be extremely naive to think they genuinely care. Just picture yourself as representing big pool of corporations name- USA, CANADA OR UK, if during business dealing with India which happens every day, small group in india brings human rights issue to plate, are we really naive to think- big corporations will kill their business dealing with India by putting pressure on India.?? When I wear evil goggles of big corporation working out business deal with India and see small group of people protesting be it - kashmiri, sikhs, muslims, christians- i only see tribal group are bickering and i ignore them or pass small universal "human rights statement" hoping these tribal groups go away. I used to think captalism is something to do with conservatives only but its cycle liberals or ndp parties would be part of it in Canada as well after one gives deep thoughts, its all same crap- minorities suffer in hands of powerful countries like- India, china, Russia.. CSIS know all the human right abuses in punjab/delhi how culprits are roaming free , how GOI tries its best to demonize sikhs in Canada, even know who are real culprits behind air india bombing which is GOI but they still refuse to do anything? Why? Because it does not matter at the end of day as long as business deals are made with India- super power in asia on daily basis and as long as its business as usual- human rights does not matter..!! I also had similar question like Bundha ji. i think first of all for changing the destiny , you need to pay in terms of Ardaas and Gurbani or bhagti. Its not always that easy.
