  1. Vaheguru ji ka Khalsa, Vaheguru ji ki Fateh, Sangat ji, this video is a response to www.sikhoutreach.org which is a Christian Missionary website aiming to convert Sikhs. This is not in itself what concerned us, but what did sicken us was the way that they twisted and misrepresented Gurbani in order to convince simple minded folk about Christianity. A Path of Truth should always seek to speak its own truth and not denigrate others using false statements. The claims they make are that Guru Nanak is a sinner whilst Jesus is free of sin. Anyone who has even read the Sikh scriptures at all will see the praise of Guru repeated throughout. This video is an excerpt from the Japji Sahib Katha sessions on our channel, specifically Pauri 26 where we addressed this claim. We have emailed www.sikhoutreach.org but not heard back from them. As is made clear from the video, the aim of this video is not to incite hate or violence towards the founders of that website but to educate Sikhs about an appropriate response to someone making such an argument to malign any of our Gurus. Please use your energy to help us spread the message of Sikhi rather than attack that website. Someone with strong roots and knowledge of Gurbani will never fall for such a flawed argument. 3. I don't think Jesus would have called Guru Nanak a sinner. I think they would have been BFF's. Guru Nanak was in love with God. Anyone who is in love with God cannot be a sinner. These modern-day Christians need to re-examine themselves and ask if Jesus came back, would he approve of what they are doing. I don't think he would.

  4. The problem we have in the UK, is that most people want to be at the forefront or come up with ideas and 'run' with them, rather than thinking them through strategically. There are people and organisations within the Sikh community that have a lot of experience in dealing with the UK political system, we should make use of their skills and networks as well as the 'fresh ideas' that those that have not been so involved bring. My understanding is that the Sikh Council Uk was supposed to be act as a co-ordinator in bringing all this together, however if no-one contacts them with their ideas or projects, how are they to know

  7. Most of you probably seen movie called "Hotel Rwanda," (In early 90's Killing of 800,000 tutsi men by hutu community) Whole world, including united states, did nothing to help. Bill Clinton administration refused to allow use of the world genocide for six weeks because "If you used the word, then you're required to take action." Clinton called unable to help Rwanda is his greatest regrets. Avoidance of the powerful term 'Genocide' likely contributed to the Clinton admin's inaction and general public's lack of support.

  9. we moved to a much smaller home with no backyard and can't keep 2 big dogs, so there was no way to keep doberman so we made decision to send him off to punjab to be with my parents rather than giving him up for adoption/shelter. and here's what happened to my once most furious dobie in our neighborhood (all work of my cuzin and mum.. Sigh) lol:

  10. nice cute picture of your dog singh559. Here's the picture of my boys watching my neighbor who was working in his backyard.. dogs kept that fence as a secret window/passage). Our other next door neighbor (punjabi lady) once seriously requested us to install steel or iron boards on fence lol... what can i say... "dogs will be dogs"

  11. I'm not stopping you from questioning God I actually encourage it but all I am saying is keep an open mind that's all. If you knew what the soul was you would have realised the Lord and the ego would fall away as not 'you'. You must die to the shabad.

  13. I'm trying to wrap my head around the above as well! That's some next level stuff I'm afraid. I guess what you can affect is your actions as of now. I've heard Gurbani is a killer of bad karams, and to recite it with utter devotion is the best thing one can do. If a person wants to a) change their destiny, and b) sow only the good stuff, then Gurbani is the key. Although, a caveat and it goes without saying that reciting Gurbani just for the sake of the act itself is not, from what I understand, the best thing. The perfect way is to live Gurbani in every thought and action until it becomes a part of you. Basically not do it for 'matlab'.

  14. Basically as long as you think you are a person/ego then you will suffer the actions done by the body e.g. "oh no I done a bajjar kurehit" i.e saying as you sow, so shall u reap (only applies to ignorant (manmukh) who believes he is a separate individual to God and thinks he is the doer when gurban continuously says God is the only doer). If 'you' surrender to his hukam you will transcend the body/mind and ONLY god will remain. No more karma - suffering ends and you'll find you were always immortal. This is the gurmat way. If 'you' ever do transcend the ego you will find out there was never any free will, volition, intention etc. You will come to the conclusion that 'God is doer of all actions'. Remain a person/ego you will always remain a slave; actually worse of than a slave because a slave at least thinks he has free will and can do some actions that his master does not know about but you will continuously be a slave 24/7. Thinking you are a person = MAHA PAAP AND GOD WILL PUNISH YOU Transcending ego/person identity = Sachkand you MUST lose your identity. This is the greatest deed/pun WAKE UP!

  16. I promise I won't angry you... :happy2: God doesn't become angry. When you do bad things, it lowers your spirituality and takes you farther from God. This is the punishment you have brought upon yourself. Aapeh beejh, aapeh hee kaho As you sow, so you shall reap

  18. Christians have had 2000 years to perfect their patter and they still need to lie to get their message across! I love Bhai Sahibs parchar, always makes me proud of Gursikhs.

  19. How is is that Christians are so organized that they can reach out to non-Christians like Sikhs but our Gurdwara are not able to draw people born into Sikhi back into the religion they were born to. There isn't enough outreach towards the spirit of Sikhs and these groups are exploiting that and doing so well out of it.

  20. Paaji, you always make really valid points on this forum (and I say the following with the utmost respect), but you always seem to do your points an huge injustice, when you start mixing in insults and person attacks! If we look at the 3HO thread I started a week or two back, where all I did was ask a question in the title about 'Friends or Enemies in Friends clothes' and followed it up with a link to bhai Gursants long and informative article along with what I belived were valid concerns about Sikhnet (the largest Sikh website in the world) that was controlled by people who had been highlighted as possibly having ulterior motives and shady backgrounds. In this thread you wrote numerous posts insulting this wing, that wing, nutbars, hippies, hyper this and that whereas along came Bhai Humkire and did us all proud by, first answering the question at hand and then going on to explain his feelings and thoughts in a calm and rational fashion. Just an observation for you my brother.

  22. Man, you brought up the Islam comparison. I'm saying Khalsa Raj isn't gonna come through armed conflict or what not. The reason we have suffered throughout our history is because we are a minority. That isn't gonna change unless we spread Guru ji's message. That's the only way we can achieve sovereignty. The line from ardas is saying that Khalsa will rule when people stop opposing us. When they stop persecuting us. Just like the Romans who persecuted the Christians, ultimately became Christians themselves and had Christian Raj. Idk why, as a Sikh, you would be opposed to this.

  24. People need to grow up and should be ashamed for themselves for making this video. I am sure no senior gurmukhs or puratan gurmukhs would approve of this video. I have managed by maharaj kirpa, spent countless hours writing posts here, pointing out serious methodology theological issues with nihang niddar singh parchar on website then we have immature/insulting video(insulting bana, ram avtari pursh) ruining everything. It's sheer ignorance/arrogance/paranoia piece by right wing nut bars..if such insult was thrown like the video above was thrown infront of sant gurbachan singh khalsa bhindranwale, these right wing nut bars sure be summoned/ scolded by mahapursh and off course it will be exploited by left wing nut bars, some old game who suffers? Guru's bana suffers along with sangat..!!!!!!!! I have news for all - sikhi isn't left nor its right wing, take your pathetic squabbles/bias else where...instead of hijacking gurmat and super imposing itself on it like it was people's father property..!!

  25. I agree, over the last few years there seem to be an influx of "rude boys and rude girls" coming into the fold. It might be schools and colleges now, these kids with wrong attitudes have a misconception that you can mess around and then capitalise on the GurSikh image. Its our fault, we pushed these kids to take Amrit at camps by fastrack parchar and then don't support or do anything to sustain a Gurmat lifestyle for them.

  28. The movement for a physical "khalistan" is non existent in Canada. There is no lobbying by any major groups for this end goal. But there is definitely an awakening and mass organization in terms of exposing human rights abuses, justice being denied etc. I feel all this can fall under the banner of 'Khalistan'. Also, every major Gurdwara across the countries still hoists Khalistan banners and honours shaheeds, this is our right to never forget what these individuals faught for, even though we might not be lobbying for that exact goal.

  30. Who says that khalsa will rule the world ? Is that what it is all about, about who dominates and rules ? Some of you are going away from the messages in gurbani. If we can get the 'khalsa' to rule within each of us, then the whole battle is already won isn't it ? Start the real journey 'within' and then we can find our true selves and the true Lord.(start with simran) When the two of us can be in pure unison and harmony, the khalsa will already be ruling within us.

  33. the stances of buddhist differ depending on sect. some believe that only soul exists while others are nastik and some do believe in god. in gurmat, the teaching is that the soul exists, is perceived as separate from god due to haumai, but is actually a part of god.

  37. LAHORE/CHANDIGARH: Bhai Lal, descendant of Bhai Mardana passed away Monday at Lahore's Sarwar Hospital. He was eighty-five years old and had been admitted to the hospital as he was suffering from pneumonia. Bhai Lal was the 17th generation in the family lineage of Bhai Mardana, the rababi who accompanied first Sikh guru, Guru Nanak Dev during his udasis. Bhai Lal had been performing shabad-kirtan (hymns) for the past seven decades. Renowned for his traditional way of reciting shabad-kirtan, Bhai Lal had expressed his last desire to perform kirtan once in Darbar Sahib, Amritsar many times but was denied the permission by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), stating that only baptized Sikhs can perform kirtan in the sanctum sanctorum. Ancestors of Bhai Lal's family had been performing kirtan in Darbar Sahib but the practice was discontinued by Bibi Jagir Kaur, during her tenure as SGPC chief. Bhai Lal during his last visit to India had rued over the callous attitude of the SGPC. The descendants of Bhai Mardana had remained rababis to all the ten Sikh Gurus and kept alive the musical instrument rabab.Bhai Lal had once performed kirtan at Darbar Sahib once before the partition of India and Pakistan. He had also performed again in 1962 during his visit to India. Listen to his kirtan open the video clip http://punjabnewsline.com/news/Bhai-Mardana___s-descendant-passes-away-at-Lahore-hospital.html

  42. Honestly, when i was having the same thoughts, I ended up at this random website on the web and it listed all the possible ways to committ suicide, BUT, every single way would not work. There's a chance of survival no matter what you think. Would you really want to fail? NO. so just don't do it. ummm I think you're putting up with a lot of stuff. Just don't put up with anything. You have a life and you need to live it. Good or bad. Try to talk to someone close. Everyone thinks of suicide at one point and usually the deciding factor is HOPE. You're an amritdhari Sikh. You have hope. Just stop putting up with whatever it is . Take a break. Let things go. Stay in the present moment. Do Jaap Sahib. It helps in strengthening your aura. Theres about 8 billion people on this earth and you have it better than most of them. Ask someone who's doing a life in jail and he'll tell you how bad he wants to get out. Just snap out of it man. Change everything. Change your daily routine. Do an ardaas. Ardaas will help you!
