  1. Wahegurujikakhalsawahegurujikifateh One time Sant Sundar Singh Ji Bhindranwale was taken to hospital with an illness. The Chief Khalsa Divan honorary secretary Dr. Diwan Singh Ji came to the hospital to have darshan of Mahapursh. Dr. Diwan Singh Ji had done darshan of many Brahmgyanis including Sant Baba Shaam Singh JI - the kirtani of Sachkhand Sri Darbar Sahib Ji. After exchanging Fateh with Santji he asked/did a benti to Santji to give a Bachan. Santji simply said I'm ill what Bachan can I possibly give? Santji then asked Dr. Diwan Singh Ji to examine him and begin some treatment. Dr. Diwan Singh Ji then proceeded to narrate an experience from his own life. He said to Santji that every time I switch on my car - from the engine itself I hear 'waheguru waheguru waheguru waheguru waheguru Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Ji waheguru waheguru waheguru waheguru waheguru'. Santji said you have a lot of bakhseesh and kirpa bestowed on you by Guru Sahib. Dr. Diwan Singh Ji then said I've told you about this kirpa now please give a Bachan. Santji smiled and said I will give Bachan but before that you are a doctor, please examine me and treat me. Hearing this Dr. Diwan Singh Ji took out his stethoscope and begin to examine Santji. Everywhere the stethoscope was placed only one thing was heard - Waheguru waheguru waheguru waheguru waheguru. This is the Nishani of a Gursikh. Very loose translation from katha by Giani Ram Singh. How my ears and my stethoscope long to meet a patient like Santji. Wahegurujikakhalsawahegurujikifateh

  3. Whoever lives in the GTA (Greater Toronto Area) in Ontario, Canada.... I CHALLENGE YOU to stand up and put an end to this pakhand which has destroyed so much of Sikh historical items in the past 100 years. It seems as though all of the negative cultural traits of indians come along with them to western countries, including this pakhand. If you were injured or had a disease, would you throw yourself in a fire? Even if you were beyond repair, would you throw yourself into a fire? Check this event happening very soon from now. Sikh historical items are priceless and can never be re-created/replaced. Let us not just put an end to this in western countries. Let us put an end to this all over the world. Let us send out complaints to these so called 'leaders' who do these 'agan bhet' ceremonies. Let us send out complaints to SGPC and Akal Takhat Sahib which 'approves' of this. DO THEY HONESTLY EXPECT US TO BELIEVE THIS...... LET US EXAMINE THEIR SWEET WORDS SOME MORE: ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖ਼ਤ ਸਾਹਿਬ, ਸ੍ਰੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਤੋਂ ਪਰਵਾਨਿਤ ਸੇਵਾਦਾਰ ?????? ਇਹ ਸੇਵਾ ਨਿਭਾਉਣ ?????? However...for the past 25+ years, it has been going on very regularly all around the world and in major numbers at the famous 'Goindval Sahib' and around india......all without any credible supervision and without any true expertise. 4. A lot of the manuscripts themselves are copies of original items. From copies we can gain valuable information about the original item as well as history, time period, events, state of affairs, etc. Veer Jee, state of Panth is really grim and hanging on a thin thread. Forget about the thought that we have gone so low that we need to get tips from british library to preserve old saroops. We are so low, that we don't even want to get the tips and actually learn something and do something positive!!! In my opinion, 99% of the Saroops which are put for 'agan bhet'...they shouldn't even be there. And let us remember, it's not only Saroops/Birs which are put for 'agan bhet'. Many other literature/paper with Gurbani on it and related to Gurbani are put for 'agan bhet' as well. The only time when Saroops, Birs, Senchis, Gutkas, Pothis, literature, documents, etc..should be put for 'agan bhet' ..is under the following circumstances: (Note: All of these bullet-points should be fulfilled in order to allow 'agan bhet' to go forward. If any one of these bullet-points are not matching with the situation of the item...then 'agan bhet' should not take place whatsoever). The following is regardless of padched or not, regardless of ragmala or not, regardless of kachi bani or not, regardless of Dasam Granth combined with Guru Granth Sahib Jee or not, regardless of decorated item or not, regardless of paintings in the item or not, regardless of Patshahi 10vi written before a few lines at the end of Guru Granth Sahib Jee or not, etc.... 'Agan Bhet; is okay when..... the item in question does not hold any historical significance or associated to any figure/person of historical importance the item in question is not a manuscript or a copy of a manuscript the item in question is not handwritten the item in question is not from an older printing press/type-writer where copies may be very limited and scarce. the item in question is from a modern printing press and a new copy is readily available after ALL sincere attempts have been made to restore the item and still it is not in condition to be used on even an once-per-year basis the item has been approved for 'agan bhet' by inspection from a 5-member Panth Parvaan expert panel consisting of Panth Parvaan historians/scholars. the item has been approved for 'agan bhet' by Tyaar-Bar-Tyaar Jeevan Valey Panj Piaarey (not any random 5 guys getting together and dressing up and holding swords in their hands). So that means that......for example......if a Saroop/Bir was printed by printing press 10 years ago....it's pages are all wet...many pages are torn and missing....the binding is practically non-existent....the outer cover is of no use.....etc..........then...in this example the Saroop/Bir should NOT be put for 'agan bhet'. Also, there needs to be a proper process. There needs to be registration (contact information of previous 'owner' and history behind the item) that takes place and put into a database for every single person that comes forward with an item, whether it is approved for 'agan bhet' or not. Like Neo Jee said, there needs to be some sort of Sikh Heritage Centre where all of this takes place and as well as the restoration and storage/display occurs as well. We as a Panth need to get our act together. Our literature/history has been burned away in the past 100+ years..and is still happening before our eyes. Our so-called Panthic institutions are giving permission to un-verified individuals...and who knows what damage they possibly have done behind our backs. We all know about how Dilgeer had open access to Sikh Reference Library and how he ended up.... It takes time, patience and virtues to restore items and have a properly organized and sophisticated process/institution in place.....but it is worth it for Guru Granth Sahib Jee....for Sikh history...for Sikh survival.

  6. Wahegurujikakhalsawahegurujikifateh This petition is to create awareness against the practice of "Agan Bhet" of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, old Gutka/Pothi Sahibs and Old Sikh Manuscripts. "Agan Bhet" is a ritual where old saroops are burnt to ensure according to some individuals that they don't deteriorate further and to uphold their sanctity. Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj is Jaagdi jot - The Living Guru. We therefore feel that the act of burning alive Sargun Saroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj defeats the very purpose of upholding their sanctity and contradicts their very definition - Jaagdi jot. We ask Sikhs to consider Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj sahib as the living Guru and to ask themselves - When a human being gets old do their sons and daughters burn them alive? If the answer is no then why do we want to burn our beloved Satguruji? We also ask our Sikh leaders to create Sikh Heritage Centres where old saroops can be preserved with utmost satkar. The practise of burning saroops and destroying our own rich heritage has gone on for too long and must be stopped. Let us all come forward and be united. Let us put down our own individual differences and stand united - hand in hand - against the practice of Agan Bhet towards all Sikh Scriptures - Gutka Sahibs, Pothi Sahibs, Senchiyas, and Saroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj regardless of whether it is in laridvar or padched format, regardless of whether it has Raagmala or not, and regardless of whether its old or new with unfortunate occurrences. 8. We are talking about both as agan bhet are being performed on both: Anyway here is rough draft of petition. I ask my brothers to make grammatical correction for me if there is any so i can go ahead create a peaceful petition to create awareness among sikhs: This petition is to create awareness against practice of "Agan Bhet of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, old gutkas, old sikh manuscripts'. Agan bhet is an ritual where old saroops are burned to ensure old saroop does not get further deteriorated and to ensure sanctity of old saroop However, according to very definition of sri guru granth sahib ji being " alive living guru" we feel literal process of burning sargun saroop of sri guru granth sahib ji alive defeats the very purpose of keeping sanctity and is on clash course with very definition of sri guru granth sahib ji being alive living guru. We ask sikhs to consider sri guru granth sahib ji as literal living guru/being and to ask themselves, if human being gets old, does their next of kin burn them alive? If answer is no, why should we hold such rules for our living guru/being sri guru granth sahib ji? We also ask our Sikh leaders to create a Sikh heritage centers where old saroops can be preserved with utmost satkar than simply burning the saroops and destroying our own enrich heritage. Lets all come forward and be united despite of our differences and stand against practice of agan bhet towards all sikh manuscripts/scriptures- gutkas, senchiya, saroop of sri guru granth sahib ji regardless if its laridvar or padched format, regardless if it has ragmalla or not regardless if its old or new with unfortunate occurrences.

  9. Neo ji You are not well informed about tactics of Indian consulate in Toronto. When attack on golden Temple took place, obviously all sikhs were hurt. Also hurt was one young sikh boy with last name as saini. He took subway in toronto and reached Indian consulate. He saw photograph of Indira gandhi displayed in the entry hall.He smashed the photograph with chair and then left for home. The incharge consulate Malik, came out after he had left nd started smashing all furniture inside the consulate and instigated, every one to break everything. After a few our of this act he called 911 and blamed it on sikhs. Police took the case and visited 20 years boy's home for questioning. Boy agreed to what he did and told that he only smashed photograph of Mrs Gandhi. Luckily police noticed that boy had one arm only. They concluded that it was not done by one armed boy but by insiders. Now you tell me who is guilty? You say you have read soft target.Did not you read that malik was extradited to India for his role in tht flight tragedy.Sikhs were victims maligned by a country whom they got independence. I do not undertsand why you curse sikhs and do not point finger where it is due.

  10. I am at a loss to understand your mind set neo ji. Have you read a book "Soft Target" on this tragedy? Had you, you would not have written like above. India itself was involved in this tragedy. The book clearly says that and you should know Canada had expelled Indian diplomats from canada over this issue.

  11. Eating food is a necessity to live, but killing an animal to satisfy ones tastes/desires is not Gurmat unless you have nothing else to eat to survive, but even then some would not kill a creature which also has waheguru ji in it. Waheguru ji has provided us with many other sources of food which do not inflict pain or suffering to any creature. so why eat meat ?

  12. This is story of children with low moral values and looking down upon ethical values of our system. Even though they have been brought up in sikh households they seem to pretend to be unaware of sikh culture and want to copy gutter habits of western culture. .

  14. Apologies, i was looking for a topic which discussed ways of doing parchar in gurdwaras but couldnt find one, so have started this. Here are some photos from our local gurdwara, on how we can do parchar in a non-invasive way. We have had a lot of people use this literature stand. We basically made it ourselves, it cost us about £100 quid, cos the committee wouldnt pay for a new one, which would have cost about £250 (this was in 2005-ish). The response has been amazing, and lot of literature is being taken. We have 37 facings on this stand, although we have over 280 articles with a very wide range of subjects. Below, this is a new venture, we were lucky in that these exhibition boards were being discarded, as some offices were be cleared out, and we managed to get these off them for free. They can be purchased in the UK for about £70 ish pounds. We have been preparing an exhibition on monthly historical events that arent well known to younger Sikhs (i know, I know, some of you are thinking, "well that would be most things...)" and using the month as the theme to show them. In March, we did "The Rawalpindi progrom against Sikhs, in 1947". In April, we did "The annexation of the Lahore Kingdom". In May we are going to do, "The Smaller Holocaust". If anybody wishes to start these in their local Gurdwaras, then as long as you get the hardware, we can send you the literature to use electronically. If you are lucky and your committee is helpful in buying new stands/boards etc, then that is great. Show them these photos, and see what they think.

  15. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa !! Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh !! Waheguru Ji , Jaap Sahib – Sava Lakh (125,000) by June 2014 1984-30 YEARS-2014 June 1984 saw the tyrannical armies of India launch a full scale military attack on Sri Darbar Sahib, Amritsar and the Sikh Panth. This was one of the first of a series of brutal and calculated attacks on the Sikh community designed to ridicule and break the backbone of our faith. In the following 29 years we have seen hundreds and thousands of people lose their lives in what is nothing short of genocide. The year 2014 will mark 30 years since this cold-blooded assault and attack on the heart of our panth. We will NEVER FORGET 1984, in fact we will remember what happened each and every day. We will forever praise the Great Warriors and Defenders of our Faith who fought till the last breath for the Chardi Kala of the Sikh Panth. WHATS THE PLAN? The Plan is to unite as a Panth in the Charan of Sahib Sri Guru Granth Sahib ji Maharaaj under One Nishan Sahib and do ardas for the Chardi Kala of the Khalsa and begin the Savah Lakh Jaap Sahib Gurbani Jaap. Through the Bani of the True Guru we can unite and remember the great Martyrs/Shaheeds of the Kaum This is our chance to unite across the globe, pray together and demonstrate our unity through the love of Gurbani and our Mahaan Shaheed Warriors. The aim is to have done 125,000 Jaap Sahib de Paath by June 2014. We cannot do this alone, we need our Panthic Brothers and Sisters, Mothers and Fathers from around the world, to join in with us and complete this task. As individuals we can only achieve so much, but with the support of Gurbani and the Sangat, we can attain everything. So let’s show our conviction and faith in Vaheguru ji and complete Savah Lakh (125,000) Sri Jaap Sahib de Paath by 06 June 2014 This paath will allow each one of us to make a daily contribution to the betterment of the Panth. We are at a stage where simply attending one day events is not enough, we need to be working daily towards living as true Khalsa’s. If we truly care, then taking out just a few minutes each day is a small contribution to make. WHO CAN AND SHOULD GET INVOLVED? The answer to this question is simple: Anyone who loves the blessed Shaheed Singhs and Singhnia of the Khalsa Panth…and actually wants to make a difference by reading and doing parchar of the Bani of Pita Ji Sahib Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaaj. So in essence, this should include each and every one of us. It doesn’t matter, whether you have taken Amrit or not, whether you keep your kesh or not, whether you belong to certain groups or not. This is our chance to gather as a community of human beings and do something together for the betterment of our Panth and remember the Brave Warriors who lived and died for the Truth. SO WHAT SHOULD I DO? What we ask is that each of us reads/listens to as many Jaap Sahib’s as possible with a collective aim to reach the target of 125,000. So read/listen to the Sacred Bani of Sahib Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaaj and record how many you have done. Then on a daily, weekly or fortnightly basis update the website so that we can keep a record of how we are doing. If you cannot read Gurbani then please try and listen to the bani being read. You can download the audio, watch videos with the audio playing and obtain English translations for you to read. We just want as many people contributing as much as they can for our Beloved Khalsa Panth. If this means that you can manage one Jaap Sahib a day, then we thank you, as that is one more Bani being read for the Chardi Kala of our Beloved Panth. Please, take out this time and do as much as you can. *Please note the Jaap Sahib that you do as a part of your Nitnem does not count towards the Savah Lakh (125,000) Jaap Sahib Gurbani jaap. RECORDING THE PAATH The primary method of recording the number of paath done will be via this website www.jaapsahib.com, we ask that you visit the site regularly to submit the number of paaths you (and your family/friends) have done. The information we receive will be treated with the upmost respect and confidentiality. This is not started by any particular jathabandi or political group; just the youth of the Panth…..for the love of the Panth and the Mahaan Shaheeds of our great Kaum whom spilt every last drop of blood in their bodies for the Chardi Kala of the Khalsa Panth. Please help promote this and take part in the seva as it is a formidable task to take on. http://www.jaapsahib.com/

  16. The arrow wielding, gun-slinging, sword adorning image of Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale has become an extensive component of the universal Sikh psyche. Despite more than thirty years elapsing since his valorous demise at the hands of the murderous Indian army, his ferocious image still retains it's perpetual impact; threatening to tear the Indian state to shreds via inspiration and influence. One of the strong patriarchs of the Khalsa ethos, Sant Jarnail Singh still retains his militant sway over Punjab despite the political tempering his image has been exposed to. Seen as a saint and terrorist alike, on opposing ends of the spectrum, he has become a symbol of individual resistance for many a South Asian minority. Born in 1947 A.D. in the heartland of Punjab, in village Rode, he grew up in a fundamentally Sikh environment. He was imbued with the traits of religiosity, universality and spirituality at an early age; catalyzing in him undergoing the Khalsa initiation rites whilst still blow ten years of age. It was finally when Gyani Gurbachan Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale reached Rode, that he identified the young Jarnail Singh's religious fervor and after adopting him under his wing placed him in the venerable Damdami Taksal, the universal Sikh university which he headed. It was here that the young Jarnail Singh trained as a saintly and militant proponent of the Khalsa way and the Sikh nation, subsequently resulting in him joining the ranks of the Khalsa militia ready to sacrifice itself for the preservation and continuation of the Khalsa. Taksal which had been a solid educational, and temporal, pillar of the panth ultimately split in 1961 A.D. after the demise of Gyani Gurbachan Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale. Since time immemorial tradition dictated that a Sikh leader forego all democratic notions in choosing his heir and successor. As such, Gyani Gurbachan Singh identified the young Kartar Singh as his heir. A notion which was ultimately dismissed and rejected by the Sikh polity, but was heavily supported by the everyday Sikh. His early support from amongst the Sikh masses, especially the religious youth, soon saw him spearheading an extensive campaign to quarantine all non-religious, and fanatical elements from Punjab. In this he clashed with the growing 'Nirankari' or 'Narakdhari' cult, an event which catalyzed in the murder of 13 innocent Sikhs and a mockery of the Indian judiciary by the Indian law keepers themselves. Seeing this, Sant Jarnail Singh planned an launched the Sikh rights agitation which continued through the late seventies uptill his demise in 1984. Growing Hindu radicalization and increasing political subtlety soon saw a heavy and often violent opposition of this agitation. Sikh women were publicly raped, Sikh males were shot dead in plain view of the judiciary and the truth was hidden by daily reports and rumors of a "Hindu genocide" occurring in Punjab at the behest of it's entire 16 million Sikh residents. Knowing that under Indra Gandhi and her vain egoistical policies, no justice was available, and that the entire Indian media was now dead set against him the Sant and his advisors formed a veritable militia of Sikhs living in Punjab and abroad which soon started launching counter offensives against the bloody slaughter of Sikhs. Yet even Sikhs independent of the agitation and the militia partook heavily in answering the political massacre which was ongoing in Punjab. Sikhs like Ranjit Singh shot the 'Nirankari' leader dead at his own residence, whilst others sent a clear cut warning to the inflammatory media through the assassination of the foul-mouthed Lala Jagat Narain. Others such as Manjit Singh hijacked plans to protest the continuous disrespect to Sikh sentiments in India. The judiciary however answered these mass protests with it's own war-mongering. Innocent Sikhs were implicated in false cases and tortured to death. Others had their families eradicated for being orthodox Sikhs, all this added more flame to the growing agitation. It was finally in the early 80's that Indra and her political sympathizers, along with Hindu fundamentalists, decided to embark on a new course of action. One which would see a large-scale annihilation of the Sikh agitation movement and also a loss of significant cultural treasures for the Sikh nation. To this end a heavy course of action was outlined, one which called for Sikhs to be portrayed as the national scapegoat for every potential problem which the Indian state faced. Punjab was blamed for the hunger pangs which India suffered, despite providing the nation with more produce than ever before. Sikh soldiers were blamed for abetting radical Islamisation and Pakistani protocols, despite gallantly defending Indian borders against superior equipped foes. Soon the flames of war were being fanned and it was evident that Indra would attack Punjab with all the force she could muster. The Sikh polity too proved to be incompatible and pathetic. After realizing that Sant Jarnail Singh envisioned a democratic Punjab, based on the Anandpur resolution, one in which it's corrupt activities would be bared it did a massive about-turn and subtly joined Indra. Via decisive planning it labelled Sant Jarnail Singh as being Indra's own men sent to inflame the common man against democracy, civility and the judiciary. All this while it planned and initiated the deaths of thousands of Sikhs at the behest of Indra. Knowing fully well that the Sant could crush it, the Sikh polity joined Indra in her new course and gave it's full blessings to re-initiate the Indian intelligence and employ it in a destructive capacity in Punjab. With the equal support of her own son, Rajiv Gandhi, and the BJP and the Communist Party of India; the newly re-instated intelligence service rejuvenated itself via the murders of Sikhs and Hindus in order to widen the gap between both communities. Radical sentiments had already been expressed by the Hindu community, the intelligence agency's actions only increased them. In the state of Haryana a massive eradication of the Sikh populace was undertaken with Sikh being dragged out of their own residences and burnt to death in broad daylight. Hindu politicians, emboldened by the Sikh polity's betrayal, spewed an immeasurable amount of derogation against the entire Sikh nation, going so far as to label the masters of the faith "beggars" and "common hunters." The Sant gave mouth-breaking replies to his criticizers during this time and continued to firm the Sikh nation for the dark days it was traversing through. His excellent rhetoric and sharp memory saw an extensive growth of Sikh numbers. Each day an increasing number of individuals underwent the Khalsa initiation rites, giving rise to the fear, in the minds of the Hindu Taliban, that a mass majority of Sikhs would soon over run Punjab and gain a secessionist entity right within India itself. A parallel similarity to the mughal state's fear of Guru Gobind Singh Ji's independent and distinct entity, Anandpur. During this time the Sant resided in and around Amritsar, specifically the Nanak Niwas complex. Unknown to the Sikh nation, at the time, this would soon become a subtle excuse for Indra to attack Darbar Sahib, the Sikh Vatican. A series of encounters were planned and carried out which soon lead to Indra declaring a nationwide contingency plan, heavily centered on Punjab. It called for the immediate dissolving of the agitation, which she labelled as being a secessionist entity sponsored by neighboring nations to dissect the united Indian-Hindu state. To this end various officers and civil servants were employed, along with the media, to give credence to the hysteria of Sikh terrorism. It was a view which heavily encapsulated all modes of Indian life, with many individuals even distancing themselves from Sikh run, or owned enterprises and/or colleagues. Individuals such as Colonel B. Longer, Arun Nehru, L.K. Advani and A.S. Vaidya analyzed the political fallout which would result after an imminent attack on the Sikh nation. Their conclusion was highly optimistic for Indra, a mass increase in the votebanks and a decisive blow struck to the Sikh psyche. To this end the planned action, which had only been a brainstorm at this conjuncture, soon became a potential reality and was code named Operation Bluestar. Bluestar was not a solid action and did not possess any concrete credentials. It was a subtle evolution which radically altered itself with the changing environment. In all it's finality it presented an all-out attack on Darbar Sahib, with the potential murder of thousands of civilians and if Indra was lucky, militants. Not only would Bluestar alter the Sikh image universally, but also justify itself via it's decisive basis, "the removal of Sikh secessionists and terrorists." Eighteen months before the plan was given the all clear, a practical model of Darbar Sahib was built at the Doon Cantonment. General S.K. Sinha, an individual party to this plan, opposed its construction and later admitted to the world at large that in all it's entirety Operation Bluestar would have happened. Bhindranwale or no Bhindranwale. With the onset of 1984 and a decisive calm in Punjab, the unholy nexus of the Indian state soon commenced the final preparations for Operation Bluestar. Knowing fully well that the Sant and his companions, along with radical Sikh politicians and leaders, resided in and around Darbar Sahib Indra started promising that despite the Akal Takhat being the parliamentarian hothouse of the Sikh minority, the army would not enter it under any circumstances or situation. It was a clear cut signal for the Sant and a majority of the Sikhs residing in Punjab and outside. Indra's solemn words, carried a heavy air of malice. Empowered by it's own success, the Indian intelligence along with it's sister branches of the Indian para-military forces, planned and commenced quick attacks in which the Sikh militia's tactics were mimicked. These deliberate actions were only revealed after the Sant's death, though he disproved them at the time citing an extensive amount of loopholes prevalent in the fabricated cases pinned on him and his men. Since November of the prior year the police had been moving in and around Amritsar. With the onset of 1984 it set up a perimeter around Darbar Sahib and pointed it's weaponry towards the Akal Takhat in a stark reflection of it's prior attack in 1955. It was this which finally gave Sant Jarnail Singh and his companions a reason to enter Darbar Sahib and prepare their strategic positions for power. Despite being against the idea of a separate Sikh nation, the Sant rapidly warned the Indian state that if it's para-military forces fired a single bullet at the Darbar Sahib and it's inner precincts; than the entire Sikh nation would separate itself from the greater Indian nation via bloodshed. A numerous amount of political personalities came to meet the Sant during this time. Each and every one of them requested Indra Gandhi and New-Delhi to pay heed to the Sikh agitation movement's demands and reach a compromise. She however ignored these requests and continued unabated with her vilification of the Sant and the Sikh nation. The Indian ambassador to Madagascar noted how during his visit to the Akal-Takhat, a mode of calmness and serenity pervaded the inner precincts of Darbar Sahib. He also noted how more than 241 police snipers had their visions constantly trained on Jarnail Singh. Many other individuals also noted the same. The Amritsar police officials refused to arrest the Sant in the aftermath of the murder of D.I.G Virk. Citing the fact that any evidence produced against the Sant was circumstantial, and despite his men retaining their weapons on sacred premises it was a practice concurrent with the Sikh ethos. It is impertinent to note that it was Virk who had declared the Sant absolved of all guilt in the 'Chowk Mehta' case. Finally, after a short but nerve-wracking wait, Indra with her full blessings dispatched a contingent of the Indian army to invade and silence Punjab in the beginning of June. On the 1st of June, 1984 Punjab was virtually shut-off from the globe at large. Telecommunications were cut, international citizens forcefully removed, human rights activists detained along with media firebrands, and a curfew set in place. If any violation of these actions occurred, than the perpetrator was shot dead on cite without any justification. Punjab was effectively a warzone. Forty simultaneous Sikh shrines were investigated by the army and given the all-clear. Yet despite this declaration they were still invaded. From the 1st to the 3rd of June the army commenced to blockade all civilians inside their residences. Darbar Sahib too was sealed off and despite the army's whitewashed accounts, no individual was allowed inside or outside. It was also during this time that under the orders of Generals Brar, Sundaji and Dayal, a detachment of Indian soldiers fired bullets at civilian targets and specific locations inside Darbar Sahib. Despite the untimely demise of 12 individuals, the Sant and his men did not fire back. Preferring to hold their fire, and not betray their positions. It was also a sign of their declaration, the army could negotiate with them if need be. Finally after a lengthy consultation Brar ordered an attack on the 4th of June. Detachments of handpicked soldiers burst in with heavy firepower, shooting left and right, without any prior discrimination massacring civilians and militants alike. The militants however were possessed by a firebrand spirit and soon forced their foes to retreat with heavy fatalities. From the 5th of June however the Indian attack recommenced with a vengeance. A psychoanalysis had been taken and it had been established that the militants could easily crush the Indian forces, especially since the civilians trapped inside Darbar Sahib were now openly fighting along with them. In a desperate attempt tanks were brought in and opened a mass bombardment on the Akal-Takhat. It still did not deter the Sant and his men from their fight. The militants, despite being encumbered by logistical inefficiency, held out until the 10th of June (a full account of the battle will later be analyzed in top 20 Sikh battles). Army sources are heavily contradictory regarding the demise of the Sant. A certain percentage state he surrendered but was shot dead, another states he was shot whilst evacuating Akal-Takhat while yet another makes the exorbitant claim that he was killed right inside the inner chambers of Akal-Takhat. All these glaring inconsistencies make it evident that the army did not wish, at the time, to express the truth. It ignored all eye-witness statements (many providers were 'silenced') in order to turn the situation to it's own advantage. The truth of the Sant's last moments can be established from the accounts of the few brave souls who whilst sheltering met him and/or saw him. Joginder Singh Vedanti (later Jathedar of Akal-Takhat) who was sheltering in the two-story infrastructure besides the Akal-Takhat saw the Sant listening to the recitation of the Sikh canon, whilst engaging in action against the Indian soldiers. Another custodian of Darbar Sahib saw the Sant preparing guns for the employment of his men against the soldiers, who were now amassing over the killed civilians and marching towards Akal-Takhat. But it is the testimony of Bhai Ram Singh, the head custodian at the time and now one of the heads of the split Taksal branches, and his companions (which was recorded by the chief magistrate of Punjab A.R. Darshi) which establishes the Sant's final hours. His account states how by this critical conjuncture in time the valorous, but heavily outnumbered militants, lay dead or dying. He himself was sheltering in the 'Kotha Sahib' where the Sikh canon was placed for the night, along with a few fellows. Despite the Akal-Takhat being located adjacent to the said structure, it miraculously survived the attack with only a few bullet marks. Around early morning, Bhai Amrik Singh, the Sant's perpetual companion came in to pay his respects to the Guru and notify it's tenants as to what was occurring in the defensive quarter. The remaining militants had run out of ammunition and were now planning an all-out attack on the remaining soldiers. It was evident that to silence the Sikh nation, and the victims of the attack, a massive slaughter was to follow the subsequent eradication of all remaining militant elements. Yet despite this the Sant was not willing to surrender. He had partaken the oath that the army would have to step over his corpse if it wanted to enter the Akal-Takhat. As such, it was now time to prove the validity of that oath. He soon joined Bhai Amrik Singh, and then headed back to the Akal-Takhat. There after notifying the remaining militants to his acceptance of their new course of action, and justifying his stand for martyrdom, he lead them to the entry of the Takhat. Subsequently eyewitnesses saw the Sant and his remaining men charge the Indian army soldiers, emerging from the rubble which was now Akal-Takhat. The Sant was at the head of the band and the first to engage the foe in hand-to-hand combat. In the spirit of his predecessors, such as Baba Deep Singh, Bhai Mani Singh Ji and Baba Gurbax Singh the fourteenth jathedar of Taksal laid down his life in defense of the Sikh ethos, and Khalsa way of life so dear to him and countless others. After his death his body was placed in a cordoned region for identification by his brother, Sardar Joginder Singh. It was then subsequently dumped and cremated along with the other victims of Operation Bluestar in an unverified location. 'Physical death I fear not. But the death of the conscience is a sure death.' -Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale. http://tisarpanth.blogspot.co.nz/2013/06/sant-jarnail-singh-bhindranwale.html

  20. Wahegurujikakhalsawahegurujikifateh, Thank you for your response. I completely agree with you. No doubt when you went to school/college/university and the teacher/lecturer/dean began to speak or ask for feedback you said, "bas pyar paida karo." We need to bring structure to anything we do. What's more is we need to have overall aims and objectives which are clearly defined otherwise how on earth will we know where we stand in 5 years time? How can we possibly gauge our progress? How will we know if we have reached our end goal? How can we grow and evolve? How will we have any accountability? We need to have a drastic change in our mentality. And this needs to occur first in our religious institutions/schools and homes and then elsewhere. When we go to work we are very professional and forward thinking and have all sorts of ideas but when it comes to things that really matter - our future generation - then we are happy to sit back and say chadoo yaar. 22. The whole SIKH KAUM feels proud when a Pooran GurSikh has an achievement for humanity. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sciencetech/article-2341050/Time-write-textbooks-British-scientists-discover-new-human-body--hidden-deep-eye.html Time to re-write the textbooks: British scientists discover a new part of the human body - hidden deep in the eyeNottingham researchers found the new layer - which is just 0.001 mm thick - within the cornea, the clear window at the front of the eye Called 'Dua's Layer', it could dramatically improve corneal graft treatments The previously undetected layer could explain a myriad of eye diseases By Nicola Rowe A previously unknown layer of the cornea has been discovered in the human eye, a breakthrough experts say could 'rewrite the opthalmology textbooks'. Researchers from the University of Nottingham found the new layer - which is just 0.001 mm thick - within the cornea, the clear window at the front of the eye. They say it could help surgeons dramatically improve outcomes for patients undergoing corneal grafts and transplants. The discovery of Dua's Layer could explain the source of a number of previously unexplained eye diseases WHAT DOES THE DISCOVERY OF DUA'S LAYER MEAN? Knowledge of Dua's Layer could improve outcomes for patients undergoing corneal grafts and transplants During surgery, tiny air bubble are injected into corneal stroma via the 'big bubble technique' If the bubble bursts it causes damage to the eye. But if the air bubble is injected under Dua's layer instead of above it, the layer's strength reduces the risk of tearing Diseases of the cornea including acute hydrops, Descematocele and pre-Descemet's dystrophies may be affected by the discovery of Dua's layer Problems with the layer could also explain many eye diseases that until now were elusive in origin. The new layer has been dubbed the Dua's layer, after Professor Harminder Dua who discovered it, reports journal Ophthalmology. Professor Dua said: "This is a major discovery that will mean that ophthalmology textbooks will literally need to be re-written. Having identified this new and distinct layer deep in the tissue of the cornea, we can now exploit its presence to make operations much safer and simpler for patients. Professor Harminder Dua at the University of Nottingham discovered the previously undetected layer 'From a clinical perspective, there are many diseases that affect the back of the cornea which clinicians across the world are already beginning to relate to the presence, absence or tear in this layer.' Scientists previously believed the cornea to be comprised of five layers, from front to back, the corneal epithelium, Bowman's layer, the corneal stroma, Descemet's membrane and the corneal endothelium. The new layer that has been discovered is located at the back of the cornea between the corneal stroma and Descemet's membrane. Although it is just 15 microns thick - the entire cornea is around 550 microns thick or 0.5mm - it is incredibly tough and is strong enough to be able to withstand one and a half to two bars of pressure. Researchers proved the layer existed by simulating human corneal transplants and grafts on eyes donated for research. During these experiments, tiny bubbles of air were injected into the cornea to separate the different layers. The scientists then subjected the separated layers to electron microscopy, allowing them to study them at many thousand times their actual size and revealing Dua's layer. The authors say that the discovery will have an impact on advancing understanding of a number of diseases of the cornea, including acute hydrops, Descematocele and pre-Descemet's dystrophies The scientists now believe that corneal hydrops, a bulging of the cornea caused by fluid build up that occurs in patients with keratoconus (conical deformity of the cornea), is caused by a tear in the Dua layer, through which water from inside the eye rushes in and causes waterlogging.

  23. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Dib has been derived from Sanskrit word – Divya - and it means divine, secret, occult etc. Drishtee means nazar, eye, seeing power etc. Dib Drisht means powered eye or divine eye. In Mahabharata, Sanjaya is said to have Divya Drishtee and he was able to see the events of battle of Mahabharata from many miles and narrate them to Dhritraashter – father of the Kaurav brothers. It is a commonly used word in the Hindu Granths. In Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, this word has been used few times. It means to have divine eye. In Sri Anand Sahib, Sri Guru Amardaas Ji Maharaj has written as follows: KAHO NANAK, IH NETR ANDH SE, SATGUR MILIAI, DIB DRISHT HOYEE (Sri Guru Ji by using the stamp of “Nanak” says that my eyes before meeting Satguru were blind and after meeting Satguru, I have got Dib Drishtee). One with Dib Drishtee can see the unseen. One with Dib Drishtee can see the events that are not visible to normal person. 24. It's funny because you can only understand it once it is open. Closing your eyes becomes pleasant because you no longer see pitch darkness. Sometimes when the surroundings of the world get too much, I simply close my eyes for a minute or two and utter 'waheguru' repeatedly from my heart.-all I see and hear is the pleasant colourful vision of waheguru vibrations through the closed eyes, when I open them it feels as if I had just escaped from the crazy rat race around me and come back all revived and full of mental energy. -Plus the reassurance that God is very close within and around me.

I also sometimes tie my dastar around my stomach, there's alot of ways, whatever suits u best. We can't remove them when we take a shower, we always gotta keep them with us, I don't let any of my kakars off me, I always make sure there touching me, my body. The kachera, when ur done showering dont remove it all together have one leg in and one out to put the dry kachera on and then once u have one leg in ur dry kachera take the other leg out of the wet one and put ur other leg in the dry kachera. I hope this helped.

  30. Very true. Like most false flag operations, the air india bombing was also done by the Indian government. A country which had no problem killing thousands of it's own citizens in operation blue star, and thousands more in 84 riots, will certainly not have a problem killing a few hundred more on an air plane and blaming it on the Sikhs.

  32. I don't think the bhagats considered themselves to be apart of any religion. Yes, they may have been born in a hindu/muslim family or whatever but since the bhagats had already discovered their mool/origin then that would mean that they knew they weren't just the body or mind so how can a religion define them? What they really were: na roop hai (no form)... na rang hai (no colour)..., na dharam hai ...(no religion) etc etc. But others from their identity would asscociate them to a religion because they associate from their body and language of who they are.

  35. Finally something we can agree on dasamsarbloh veer. I have been also by maharaj kirpa vehemently writing against agan bhet ceremony in various threads lately. I don't care which group people belong to, i dont care which sant, bhai, baba, jathedar have told you so, agan bhet of berd saroop is huge travesty maha beadhi attrocity you can commit as a sikh towards your guru ( (leaving historical preservation aside). I also think burning berdh guru sahib saroops alive in agan bhet are far more severe, maha beadhi atrocities any sikh could commit (based on living guru status) against gurbani and sri guru granth sahib ji, regardless of their intentions, they should come clean before favoring one what could be perceived as maha beadhi. If you are against beadhi, be against all forms of beadhi not just one, everyone should put their what sant said so (be it sant jarnail singh ji or whoever) or what their group said so aside and focus on guru maharaj saroop , if you are for burning beerd guru sahib(living jot) alive than lets see when tables are turned- sign a waiver- let your next of kin burn you alive when you are old..lets see how you feel to be burned alive...some of people won't sign any waivers, because they rather see guru sahib saroop (who is alive never gets born, die or be old) being burned alive than themselves..utter shame, mockery of any anakh, utter maha beadhi, utter travesty, utter atrocities done against guru sahib by sikhs themselves then these same people talking about saving another honors of guru sahib

  36. I was thinking about that too GPS Veer Jee before I posted. But I would rather post that showing the restoration and countless hours and effort it takes to restore something and the beautiful end result rather than showing nothing. And I know........I know...... this is not the Dasam Granth Anandpuri Bir.......however.....that doesn't reduce this Granth's importance. Nor does it reduce the care, patience and other virtues needed to do such a restoration job. If this was found by these so called 'agan bhet' service providers of today...most likely it would have ended up in the flames. Like you said, Marco "displayed love for sikhi by writing Chithian Sikhan Diyan Likh Satgur Wal Payian" and then on the other hand he wrote against Dasam Granth Sahib. I know, we've talked about Marco's shadyness and what not...but let's leave that out of this conversation. What I was trying to show is the dramatic and amazing results of having virtues and properly restoring and taking care of literature.

  37. I don't care what anyone has to say. If you intend to attack a dastaar your Sikhi is nullified. No true Sikh would ever contemplate anything like that. As for the picture the guy could have been Hindu Punjabi as they are now the majority in many parts of Punjab. Regardless of what he is, he should have been beaten to a pulp for the additional reason of putting an infant at risk.

  46. D3SI jee, I was also mesmerized by all the protests and outcry after the Dec. 16 gangrape and was glad the youngsters were now awakened. I talked to a few Indian friends at work about it. They all predicted that this was a "seasonal" surge of emotions as the colleges were closed for winter vacation and the youth needed something to pass time. I refused to believe it, but guess what, several other gang rapes took place in India after that incident, one was of a 5 year old girl who died and they found glass and bottles inside her. There were only a few roads that were blocked in Delhi during protests, thats all! This is the Indian mentality, they just don't care. You're right, we need to educate them about 1984, about the Battle of Amritsar of June 1984 (also referred to as Operation Bluestar by the government), about the true message of Sant Jee. I'd say we could successfully educate 1 Indian for every 30 we try to educate, because they've made up their mind to "not care" and "not listen" and "not change their mindset". India is a country where entertainment is much more important than development/progress. A person can go hungry but will save money to go watch a movie, that is the Indian mentality. We can and should try to educate Indians, but I am sorry, we cannot wait for them to wake up and stand by our side. Justice for the Sikhs is something the Sikhs alone can and will have to fight for and win it. No Indians, no Pakistanis will come to our aid once their own selfish motives have been fulfilled. Stay united, stay strong, stay alert, and the world will itself fall at your feet.

They are trying to reach Enlightenment and they are trying to stop there cycle of birth and death just like a Sikh. We as Sikhs are try to merge back to our source Waheguru that's our aim in life to become one again with the creator. Just like Buddhists they are also trying to get out of there cycle of birth and dead through Enlightenment .... You have misunderstood brother, i studied there religion and i was interested because of the BUDDHA BOY who meditate for 6 years without food and water and I heard his Katha HE ALSO SAID REMEMBER THE SOURCE REMEMBER GOD and live in pure happiness AND LOVE YOUR DHARMA he says. it doesn't matter if your Buddhist or Sikh they both TELL YOU to MEDITATE So why Change??....I realized our Guru is everything man whatever you want to achieve through the guru you will find it ....
