  1. Does anyone actually take notice of these guys? Why are amritdharis listening to these clowns. Nothing compares to Kirtan!!

  2. I do not wish to drag it on since Khalistan is not here yet so we cannot guarantee anything in regards to political and economic policies. What I can say is that when true Khalsa establish Khalsa rule in Khalistan, all the issues will be dealt with based on Gurmat ideals. When I say we cannot flourish without a rule, I refer to economic, social and political flourishment specifically. At individual level, no one is stopping us from reaching brahmgyan but without our own rule, religious condition of the entire Panth may not see any stability since anti-Sikhi groups, RSS, dehdharis etc. will always be giving us troubles. These groups will not flourish without State funding and in Khalistan no one will be funding them. Even in India, some will die after Khalistan is created. A central Sikh body is required to address community wide issues and we will not be completely united until then. Religious controversies can only be resolved in Gurmattas which is nearly impossible to conduct let alone organize without a Sikh rule because non-Sikh governments and groups will have free hands in infiltrating and causing issues. A Sikh government can establish a Naam University where spiritual seekers come to resolve their spiritual issues and any problems they face in their respective avasthas. Sikh religion can only go up in a Sikh rule governed by Gurmat. Western countries represent us as Americans, Canadians etc. but not a single country represents us as Sikhs. While Western countries are very accommodating, they cannot represent Sikhs. 1. Would khalistan support death penalty? or life in imprisonment? No guarantee on political structure of Khalistan. We cannot predict future. For some grave crimes, it should be given. 2. Would khalistan support abortion (due to rape cases)? Again, it is in the hands of a government. My personal opinion is that a child should not be punished to death. Punish the rapist not the innocent child. The mother can be financially supported by the government and the child can be given in adoption if she doesn’t wish to keep it. 3. Would khalistan support rehablitation/redemption programs for worst criminals- child molesters, rapist, killers, murders, war criminals? It depends on the person. If a killer doesn’t change his habits then why spend money on him and force him to change? If a person wants to change, that’s a different case. 4. Would khalistan support america type of captlism type model? or cuba? socialism? or canada bit of both? How about good elements of all? Our intent should be to have prosperity of all. With principle of Vand Chakna, I think we can beat all other systems. 5. Would khalistan support free health care? I find it hilarious. Tell me the population of Khalistan, GDP and health care budget and I might give the answer. Sick people can go to Darbar Sahib and do Naam Simran in the sangat of Sikhs, they wouldn’t need any health insurance after that. 6. Would khalistan support unionized type of work? Who knows. 7. Would khalistan western style investment, stocks type of plays? Why not. Stocks, bonds etc. Social/life style: 1 Would khalistan support local kids having outdoor dating boyfreind and girlfreind- kids trying to find a match? or it would strictly controlled by khalsa police? There won’t be any police to strict dating. Schools, educational programs, Gurmat oriented camps and programs will ensure that our children don’t fall prey to such practices. 2. Would khalistan support chill out place? like playdium-gaming arenas, light clubbing (no drinks) No casinos, drinking bars, pubs etc. I say no drugs, tobacco and alcohol within the borders of Punjab especially. Educate the public about the harms. 3. Would khalistan support cinemas/theatres? hollywood movies? bollywood movies? Maybe. I can’t predict the future but I doubt these industries will find much audience in Khalistan. Sports 1. Would khalistan support open swimming for girls in pools? For children it should be fine but for adults there should be separate pools just like we have reserved places for sarovars. 2. Would khalistan support tennis with shorts? What’s wrong with appropriate length shorts? Misc. 1. Would khalistan supports all sorts of movement within peta, environmentalist, feminist, gun movements etc? Who is planning to start these? 2. How will be police and miltary structure in khalistan? would policing will be given to all and expecting 3rd party non authorized sikhs policing streets? This question is not clear. Central government will control military and all its branches while police will be local at state level. Each city will control its own police. Non-Sikhs can be part of police and military. These are all my personal opinions and I do not know enough about all subject matters. A constitution is written after a country is established. No point in writing it before that. You can read Gurbani and study Sikh history to learn about some of the rules, laws and policies.

  4. This video always surfaces when such issue come up. It's one of the favorites by the baba bashers along with some guy who claims he was beaten up after he saw some unlawful acts in the company of Ranjit dhadrianwala Fact is, and someone said earlier...that he is probably the best person at the moment for doing parchar worldwide. Gurdas Maan is a disgrace. I'm saying this and I was probably his biggest fan in the late 80's and 90's. I can say that he definitely influenced many youth towards the right tracks in his early days....but I agree since 'apna punjab hovey' ..(song about jatt and his desi sharab).... i lost complete interest in the guy. Yeh, it's a catchy song that will get you 'chakking' the shoulders.... but the message is bad and it hurts, especially with the current state of punjab's liquor and drug abuse. He is nothing but a spoilt money maker.. who once sang music for the love of it but now sings just for selling to demand. As for his devotion and association with this s*lah/grave worship/smoking/masti.... I'm just gonna say.........''utter disgrace!'' the mamla is too much of a garhbar now !

  8. Dear bhenjee Baba Tera Gola, sorry, but from the user name the gender is not clear. Any how, we must bear in mind exactly what is Wahiguru? Does not the Bani say that: even if there were hundered of moons and thousands of suns together, even then there would be utter darkness ...without a Guru Now who or what is a Guru Sahiban? Is not He, the manifestation of Akal Purukh? And so if the refulgence of the light from Akal Purukh is more than countless billions of suns and moons together , does He need the light of our lamp? The example could be, like lighting a candle and showing it to the sun.....we may laugh at this situation, but that is how we people are. In the same way, just as the sun who is the fountain of light and life for this planet earth, what would it gain with the light of a simple candle offered by us? Or even with a 1000 watts bulb. You see, we humans do imbibe and copy unconscioussly what we see others doing. It is we, who are in the darkness, who need the light of His Light, not He, who is the Light of all the existence, whether material, astral, causal, or even pure spiritual. So please never ever think that , if we do not lit a lamp for Him, it is a disrespect to Him. We people are very narrow minded, we even judge Him with our limited perspective ..... We should take the support by walking in His Light, so that we may not suffer any loss. But then, He is not something physical, how could we get benefitted from His Light? The answer is, to walk with the guidance of His Bani, which works as Light at this our physical level for us. And once we enter the spiritual realms, we should take the support there with His other swaroop, which is His real swaroop, and that is His Nam, His Shabad. That is why the Bani says: Main andhuley kee tek, Tera Nam aadhaar. I am blind, your Nam is my support, your Nam is the stick with which I am able to walk. Our Guru Sahibans are the embodiment of Akal Purukh, of Wahiguru, on the earth. They are also the embodiment of His Bani, His chetanta, His consciousness, thus His Light. So at physicall level, we get their guidance through their physicall Light, and on the spiritual realms, we get the guidance of their spiritual Light, which is Nam or Shabad, which is the real form of Guru Sahibans as well as of Akal Purukh. You see, the physical body is not the Guru. It is the Shabad Power operative in them, which makes them so dear and lovely to us, otherwise their bodies are also made from the 5 tattwas, just as ours, which both of them will have to leave behind one day. The Bani clearly says: Shabad Guru, Surat Dhun chela. The Shabad is the true Guru, and thus, the chela, the sikh, the disciple is also not the body, but the soul, which is just a particle, a musical note of that Akhand Bani, or Akhand Shabad Dhun, which is Wahiguru Himself. Do lit the lamp, or not outside, but we must remember, that this our very body, is the temple where He is to be found. The Bani says: Har mandir eheu sareer hae, gyan ratan pargat hoe. Means, this body is the living temple of God, where if we search for Him, we shall find the true gems of His knowledge, His Light. So it is in the temple of this body where we should lit the lamp, with His Nam Simran. Then this lamp will give that much Light, that, it will guide us back till Sach Khand. May Wahiguru bless all.

  10. Dear brother, lighting lamps, is just a representation of wanting to change the darkness to light. Mahapurukhs tell us, that, Wahiguru Akal Purukh has the Light of countless suns and moons together, even then that light is no match to Wahiguru´s. That is the splendour and refulgence in Sach Khand. Wahiguru is Nam, is Shabad also, we can say it is a Superconscious energy, with all that implies. And as such, when His Darshan is had, we hear celestial blissful melodies, and have the chance to see His Akhand Jot. And all that is already inside each one of us, irrespective of caste, creed, class or mazab. The Bani in Anand Sahib says: Nam jin ke maan vaseeya, vajeh Shabad ganere. Means, when we concentrate our dhyan through Nam Simran, and have made that Nam "ajaapa" within us, we can hear that Shabad reverbating within us. Further on the bani says: Anter Jot, Niranter Bani, Sachay Sahib siu liv laee. This means, when the practice of Nam, has been firmly established in our minds, we then hear that Anhad Bani, and have the darshan of the Jot of Wahiguru, and this very practice, produces real love in our hearts, for the true Lord Wahiguru. Wahiguru has blessed us with this human form, so that we may light the Light of lights within us, and remove once and forever, the layers of agyanta and sins. It is by listening this Shabad, that our sins, our karmas are burnt. That is why, in Jap Ji Sahib, it is said: Suniyeh, dhook paap sabh naas. Listen to this Shabad, and all your sins, which are the cause of your sorrow and pain, shall be wiped away . So, the thing is we may light as many as lamps we want, even fill the whole universe with them if we want, and the sky becomes bright with that light. But if we do not light our interior with the Light of Nam, we shall continue wandering in the darkness. Our state now is, that if we close our eyes, we see darkness. And our aim should be, we should gather so much dhan of Nam within us, that if we close our eyes, we can see that Akhand Jot of Wahiguru Akal Purukh within us. It is our choice what we do, and how we use our lives. So let us be wise, and use our lives, to fill ourselves with His Light, to the extent, that we become a living Lamp, of His Light. And once this Light is lit within us, no wind can blow it, nor water extinguish it, neither here, nor in the next world, till the time comes, when our tiny little Lamp(soul), goes and merges in the huge Sun(Wahiguru), becoming one with it. P.S: dear son, you seem to be quite young, yet your thinking is pure and quite ahead of your age. Can we know how old are you?

  11. It's weird, i was talking about this to a girl 2 days ago- this girl had turned to spirituality while trying to deal with relationship problems. It took me over 2 years to get over someone I was in love with so I get your pain. I started off doing Amrit vela paath- I wasn't amritdhari or anything- was just in so much dukhi like I had never felt before and turned to Guru Nanak for solace. I also started naam simran and eventually it just became seva of naam- naam simran and doing good for others. After 2 days I started having spiritual experiences and darshans and then I felt that I could never turn back as life was no longer what I thought it was. I knew it wasn't before but these experiences had such an effect on me that I could no longer deny for even a second that the world isn't how the vast majority of the worlds inhabitants see it. My extreme dukh had led to extreme sukh and love of a kind that I had never even felt possible. The thing is that when our karam is very favorable, our dukhi leads to a strike back on maya- instead of sinking under all the pain- we detach from it, we practice truth to an extent that we go back to the balance between dark and light. Then if hukam calls for it- we Go even deeper into the nothingness to discover and experience the gyan of truth and we proceed to apply what we learn in our daily lives-we begin to live truthfully. The more Pain- the more we detach, hence dukh=sukh.

  12. Benti in the charan of Admin. Could this post be pinned. Many thanks. Vairag Shatak Raja Bharthari lived in Ujjain Nagar around two and a half thousand years ago. He was born in a high kul {lineage} who was a vidhwan pandit {scholar}. He was fair and just towards all his subjects and as such was much loved by all the parja {citizens}. His father’s name has been recorded in Rajavali as Raja Gandarbh Sann but mother’s name has been omitted and it is written that he was in fact born to a dasi {servant girl}. The raja had been married three or four times already but when he heard the kirti {praises} of a mahan sundar rajkumari {very beautiful princess}, he married her too. The name of this rani was Pingla. Her magical beauty and gunn {attributes} captivated the raja in such a way that he became her gulam {slave}. Just as the commands of Noor Jahan had a hold over Badshah Shah Jahan , this was the same scenario with raja Bharthari. Pingla feared none since the king Bharthari was under her “spell”. She wandered around sutantar {independently}, without fear, and as such fell in love with the astbal droga {stable master}. The rani had a devarr {husband’s younger brother}, who considered his elder brother raja Bharthari as a father figure and the rani as a mother. He obeyed their every order with utmost loyalty. The maharajah had given him the post of Pardan Mantri {Prime Minister}, the duties of which he carried out with great splendour. His name was Veer Vikramaditya, he is the same Mahapursh {great soul} who later came to be known as the famous Maharajah Bikramjit. The samat calendar is still used in his memory even today. Vikramditya was the first to have suspicions regarding the vibchar {adultery} of rani Pingla. After much deliberation he finally informed his brother raja of the misdeeds of rani Pingla. The raja was so besotted with Pingla that he took offence and as such reprimanded his own brother for saying such a thing. The raja went as far as to say that it is because you are my younger brother that I shall remain quiet otherwise I would have had you hanged. The raja considered his rani to be the supreme satti savitri {a lady who was the epitome of high moral character}. When Pingla found out about this confrontation she began to show even more love towards the raja. After some days she made a request to the raja, “your younger brother Vikramjit is like a son to me and I have always tried to be a mother to him but he looks at me in a lustful manner. Any other female would have succumbed to his advances by now! It is me who has evaded this terrible situation. He has made every attempt to defile me, and not only me, he has in fact destroyed the satt dharam {purity} of many women in this kingdom. It was only a few days ago that he attempted to lure the noh {daughter-in-law} of the Brahmin with the assistance of dootia {maids etc.} but she like me too is a pattibratta {faithful woman} and as such resisted his intentions. I implore you to stay alert and be very wary about such an adharmi {unscrupulous} man. I do not want you to be in any danger from him.” Upon hearing this the Maharajah took every word to be the utmost truth. Then rani Pingla called the Brahmin and said “are you aware that the Maharajah is is in my total control and if you desire your well being then follow my instructions to the full. Go to the Maharajah and make a pukar {plea}, if you don’t then I shall have you tortured!” The Brahmin knew that the raja was totally smitten by Pingla and as such would only take her word against any other. “I will obey your every command” replied the Brahmin to rani Pingla. Pingla told the Brahmin ”go to the raja’s court and make a faryad {plea}! and when he asks you what is the matter, you reply that kumar{prince} Bikramjit wants to engage in immorality with my noh {daughter-in-law} and if you are prepared to allow this than I shall leave your nagar {kingdom} and go elsewhere. I cannot stand by and allow my izatt {respect} and istri dharam {chaste} to be destroyed in this way.” “Also remember that you must not succumb to the raja in any way!” Upon hearing this the Brahmin went to see the Maharajah the very next day and cried his dilemma {which the rani taught him} with immense reality. The Maharajah filled with krodh {anger} upon hearing his words. Without padtal {investigation} the maharajah immediately ordered the des nikala {expulsion} of his younger brother from his kingdom. Bikramjit accepted his maharajah brother’s edict with love, patience, and without complain. He immediately went home and gathered his family and promptly left the kingdom. At the same time another situation occurred. One day a Brahmin arrived in the raj darbar {king’s court} and began to tell the raja that “twenty five years earlier I made a dridh sankulp {strict devotion} to do tapp {endurance} in order to appease the Devta {deity}, the devta gave me an Amar Phall {fruit that gives eternal life}. I have come here with that phall, my wife won’t eat it herself nor will she let me eat it. She says that we are poor and persistent poverty will be harder to manage. We only desire death now so that we may escape our hardships. If we eat the amar phall then we shan’t die and as a result will have to endure more hardship. That is why it is my wish that you take the amar phall so that you can continue to rule your kingdom in the most benevolent way and in return you can give us wealth which will eradicate our suffering.” Upon hearing this from the Pandit Rajah Bharthari he took the amar phall in exchange for an abundance of wealth, which pleased the Brahmin immensely. The rajah didn’t eat this fruit himself but gave it to his beloved rani Pingla. The rani thought that it would be deceitful of her to eat the fruit, so when the rajah left she summoned her lover and promptly gave him the fruit. The lover did not eat the fruit either but gave it instead to his favourite prostitute. The prostitute accepted the fruit but began to contemplate her lifestyle “I have sinned all my life, destroyed many marriages etc. If I eat this fruit and become amar {eternal} then this is all I will endure {lustful activities}. It is better that I give this fruit to the Maharajah instead, in whose raj he has given me so many pleasures.” After contemplating this with all sincerity she presented the fruit to the Maharajah. The maharajah was first stunned upon seeing the fruit but then asked the vesvah {lady of the night} where she had obtained this fruit from? Upon being interrogated by Bharthari the veshvah told the whole story truthfully “Your astbal droga {stable master} is my mitr {lover}, he gave it to me.” The raja immediately summoned the droga {stable master} and asked how he became in possession of the fruit? The drogra fell at the rajah’s feet and narrated the whole scenario of how he engaged in immorality with his rani Pingla. As soon as the Maharajah heard the whole story, he immediately filled with nafarat {hatred} of the rani and the world in general. He became fully vairag {total renunciation}. He immediately summoned the maha mantri {prime minister} and said; “look after this raj {kingdom} I am leaving. Bikramjit suffered pains owing to my decision to expel him. Call him back and place him on the throne.” As soon as he had given these instructions he immediately removed the robes that adorned his body. He covered his body with a solitary sheet as he left to join Gorakh. Maharajh Bharthari first wrote “Shingar Shatak” and during his reign wrote “Neeti Shatak” and after attaining vairag {renunciation} he wrote “Vairag Shatak” in which he describes the state of his mind. “Vairag Shatak” Granth was written in Brijj language by the great scholar Kavi Pandit Har Dyal Ji of Choonia Nagar. The Punjabi translation has been undertaken by Pandit Naryan Singh Gyani.

Jot outside can be seen as reminder/pointer for a seeker to go introvert realize jot inside via NAAM just do a test look at jot for couple of secs, something resonates naturally in one self if one is aware of inner feeling/mind...lighting jot while simran is seen as small component which is there as aid for seeker to help during one transition spiritual development process from sargun to Nirgun parbhram- Absolute reality/truth...!!!

  23. Hi Alias, it is good what you are doing, means trying to satisfy your mind with the queries created by it. Satisfying one´s intelect is important, as it enables that being to move forward, in the best of cases; but it can also be an hindrance, if it gets stuck at some point. Wahiguru, is such and entity, which is beyond the reach of the mind. Mind can never comprendeth Him. Forget Him for a moment, we have all heard that we are "soul", but has anyone realized this by himself/herself. So if we fail to see and recognize our own reality, who is a mamulee drop compared to Him, and that too when our soul is under control of the mind. So how can anyone know something about Him, by himself? There are no such instruments, to realize Him with our senses, as the mind is dependant on the senses for its interaction and communication with its surroundings, with its envoirements... The Bani says: Sochay soch na hovaee, jeh sochay lakh vaar...means, think about Him, even hundreds of thousands of times, from different angles even, but then too, we shall never get even an idea about Him. Wahiguru´s realization, is not like those who take drugs for example. Because if you take 10 different people , and give them the same drug in same amount, all of them will have different hallucinations, experiences.... But on the other side, you take 10 people, and give them the jugtee of Nam, all of them will tell you about the same experiences they have. So you see, in the end it is your own experience(whether personal or collective) which will confirm your sharda. For example, not only our Guru Sahibans, but the different Gurmukhs, contained in the Guru Granth Sahib Maharaj, or even the other saints through out the world from different countries, or even the same country but different locations( south, east, west or north) all talk about the same reality. And all of these great souls, talk of the one same reality: Wahiguru, Nam, Shabad.... And in the end, I would just like to write what the Bani says:Only those wadbhagee jeevas come to know and realize Him, to those whom He wants so, the rest will remain in delusion. It is not even one´s hands to know Him, do whatever one may want: jap, taap, poojas, paaths, pilgrimages, yogas.. etc. Nothing happens without His "mauj". We are all blind, He is the one with eyes. The blind can only catch the one with eyes, if only the one with eyes allows him to catch Him, otherwise no way. Everything which revolves around Him is utterly beautiful, we could keep on talking about His mahima, about His wadeeayee, and then too, we shall never end...there is so much to explore, to taste, to realize.....He is just wonderful.

  24. Sikhi in the past was a mosaic of different schools of thought and each had defined roles that collectively made the Khalsa Panth much stronger. These days it is too one sided and hence controversies over petty issues arise. Obviously Sant Ji was aware of the Sikh demands in the resolution and had fully signed up to each point, so I'm fully behind their re-integration. 26. During Maharajah Ranjit Singh's reign, they abolished the death penalty, was very tolerant towards other faiths, employed the best minds far and wide regardless of faith. This is the type of cosmopolitan Raj we need. Once established and Sikh parchar is spread and as long as we are not embroiled in wars, many I feel will follow Sikhi automatically and this will sow the seed of the wider Khalsa raj. The Maryada to be followed will have to be the SRM and not AKJ, Taksal or Nihang maryadas - eventhough as I've said before 99% of Maryada is the same their are only minor differences. Purpose of the AS resolution: 1. Propagation of Sikhism, its ethical values and code of conduct to combat atheism. 2. Preservation and keeping alive the concept of distinct and sovereign identity of the Panth and building up of appropriate condition in which the national sentiments and aspirations of the Sikh Panth will find full expression, satisfaction and facilities for growth. 3. Eradication of poverty and starvation through increased production and more equitable distribution of wealth and also the establishment of a just social order sans exploitation of any kind. 4. Vacation of discrimination on the basis of caste, creed or any other ground in keeping with basic principles of Sikhism. 5. Removal of disease and ill health, checking the use of intoxicants and provision of full facilities for the growth of physical well-being so as to prepare and enthuse the Sikh Nation for the national defense. For the achievement of the aforesaid purposes, the Shiromani Akali Dal owned it as its primary duty to inculcate among the Sikh religious fervour and a sense of pride in their great socio-spiritual heritage through the following measures: (a). Reiteration of the concept of unity of God, meditation on His Name, recitation of gurbani, inculcation of faith in the Holy Sikh Gurus as well as in Guru Granth Sahib Ji and other appropriate measures for such a purpose. (b). Grooming at the Sikh Missionary College the Sikh youth with inherent potential to become accomplished preachers, ragis, dhadis and poets so that the propagation of Sikhism, its tenets and traditions and its basic religious values could be taken up more effectively and vigorously. ©. Baptizing the Sikhs on a mass scale with particular emphasis on schools and colleges wherein the teachers as well as the taught shall be enthused through regular study circles. (d). Revival of the religious institution of dasvandh among the Sikhs. (e). Generating a feeling of respect for Sikh intellectuals including writers and preachers, who also would be enthused to improve upon their accomplishments. (f). Streamlining the administration of the gurdwaras by giving better training to their workers. Appropriate steps would also be taken to maintain gurdwara building in proper condition. The representatives of the party in the Shiromani Gurdwara Prabandhak Committee would be directed to pull their weight towards these ends. (g). Making suitable arrangements for error free publications of gurbani, promoting research in the ancient and modern Sikh history, translating holy gurbani into other languages and producing first-rate literature on Sikhism. (h). Taking appropriate measures for the enactment of an All India Gurdwaras Act with a view to improving the administration of the gurdwaras throughout the country and to reintegrate the traditional preaching sects of Sikhism like Udasis and Nirmalas, without in any way encroaching upon the properties of their maths. (i). Taking necessary steps to bring the Sikh gurdwaras all over the world under a single system of administration with a view to running them according to the basic Sikh forms and to pool their resources for the propagation of Sikhism on a wider and more impressive scale. (j). Striving to free access to all those holy Sikh shrines, including Nanakana Sahib, form which the Sikh Panth has been separated, for their pilgrimage and proper upkeep.

  27. If you're implying I have communist thinking, I can assure you this is not the case. I was simply trying to point out that if you look at the amount of corruption and bickering over trivial issues, caste wars, chair wars, elections in Gurdwarey we can see the mentality of Sikhs not only in the West but in many other countries. At the moment we have SGPC/DGPC in bed with GOI, we all know what a mess they have created they of course are not suitable to lead themselves let alone the masses. Until such time we find suitable Gursikhs to run such a country which I'm all for, I cannot see it being a success at this current moment. At the time of Maharajah Ranjit Singh, there was more ekta than we have now as we had a suitable leader. Some may question his qualities, but at least he had compassion, did not neglect public affairs for pleasure like leaders do nowadays and was a brilliant administrator. Under Sant Jarnail Singh Ji, we had great chances of securing Khalsa Raj had India been a true democracy; and at this time the quantity and significantly quality of Gursikhs was far higher in number than we have now. It is possible the demands for a separate state would not have been made had GOI met our basic requests in the Anandpur Sahib resolution for Sikhs to live as free citizens in an autonomous state.

  29. That article is flawed, secondly it doesn't talk about being in favour or against Khalistan. 1) India's constitution was adopted in 1949 and came into effect even a year later. This is a few years after Hindustani Independance, so why are you asking for Khalistani Constitution now? We should focus on how to get rather than sit down and ask what the capital, national dish will be. 2) We are living in foreign countries, but as Bijla Singh pointed out, our rights are defended as Canadians, Americans etc not as Sikhs. PM Manmohan Singh has been unable to adress the concerns of the Sikh Nation - be it internal Indian issues like the Sikh Genocide or internationally the Turban issue. Even in India, Afghan and Pak Sikh refugees live without citizenships for years; them facing such a fate in western countries is understandable, but this shows how Sikhs have no homeland which welcomes them with open arms in times of need. Sikh Gurdwaras in other Asian countries are not cared for by the Indian govt, did they say anything when Gurdwara Pehli Patshahi Baghdad was blown up? Put this in your mind, we don't have a power behind us to speak for Sikhs or THEIR interests, regardless of where they are. 3) Stop sugarcoating Sikhi, it is not only about spirituality. If you read history sometimes (Gurbani orders Sikhs to read history, next time you come across this tuk contemplate on it 'babaneaa kahaneea poot sapoot karen'), you will notice that 19th century sources mention Guru Gobind Singh ordering his Singhs to take control of areas around Anandpur Sahib. I can name you Sikhs and English sources for this. And who can forget our hero, Baba Banda Singh Bahadur, who was sent by Guru Gobind Singh to establish a Just Rule by punishing the Tyrants. 4) Sikhi tops everything, be it capitalism, socialism or Sharia. In fact Bhai Jaswant Singh Khalra touches on this subject in his Canadian speech.

  30. Veere, Sant jee's Bachans are not Gurbani that you are trying to find some alternative antreev meanings to it. By Khalsa he did not mean Brahmgiani specifically. By Khalsa he meant Sikhs becoming observant of Sikhi because when Sikhs all become Amritdhari then Sikhs will become such a powerful force that no one will be able to stop Khalistan/Khalsa Raaj from becoming a reality.

  31. Avtar95 veerji, I live in states. It's not the matter of that they don't know us. Who in California doesn't know about Sikhs. All lawmakers are aware of who Sikhs are. As pointed above uk knew the loyalty of Sikhs and yet they offered full service to indira Gandhi. Why? It is because they see different country with whom they can have trade, financial relationship. That is the power of having a different country. It is total naive to think that lawmakers are working for honest way or represent a lone outlier person. They may show that biut not in reality. Politics, whether local or international will only put their efforts for Sikhs ONLY if they get something in return. It is pure and simple but hard part is that our ppl are sleeping. Example: Sikhs of India are buying French car Renault duster in thousands even know that this country specifically targeted sikh turban in schools and in all public departments. Such is the pity condition of ours. Anyway we can go back and forth on this issue and ends up with hitting wall. So let's keep the word of sarbat khalsa of 1986 and I am sure that everybody knows the importance of sarbat khalsa. There will always be a minority who will disagree but we need not to put our energy in convincing them as that will be waste of our energy. However, we get to know the mindset of those who disagrees with something that panth agreed some 30 years ago. No offense to anyone.

  32. Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale has said, "the day the Indian army attacks Sri Harmandir Sahib, the foundation of Khalistan will be laid". A Sikh who has shardha in Sant Jee should not doubt his Bachans. If the Bachans of Sant Jee are not enough for you then at least consider the destruction and damage that occurred at Akal Takht. From June 1st-8th, the floors of the Pakarma was washed with the blood of Sikhs. Then ten years after that, our youth were killed, sisters raped, entire families destroyed, and thousands of kids orphaned.

  33. There seems to be some naïve questions/excuses against Khalistan. Either opposers don’t understand it or are against it for no valid reason. Buddhism spread far a wide only after King Ashoka adopted it and made it an official State religion. During this time period, Buddhism spread from Afghanistan to Japan and Kashmir to Sri Lanka as well as Thailand etc. Even Buddhists lost their political power, they became pretty much extinct from India. It was only during last century that it started to gain some influence in India and that was because of Indian politics accommodating it. Khalsa was created to be sovereign and we cannot flourish without a political State. Our Gurdwaras, religious beliefs, women, children and future generations will never be safe all the time under a foreign rule. We have seen in 18th century how Sikhs were persecuted and our safety entirely depended on the mood swings of the Mughal officials. British rule was no different. Our Gurdwaras remained in their hands and we didn’t even have the right to wear a Kirpan and a black turban until beginning of 20th century. How do you think 9” kirpan became common? Because British allowed this length only. Our Anand Karaj was illegal until 1906 and in the surrounding areas of Darbar Sahib we had to endure idols, prostitutes, lecherous shops and songs until 1906. In Hindu rule, we are no longer considered a separate nation and our survival is in jeopardy. How can we ever justify that Akal Purakh Ki Fauj remain without its own weapons, artillery, defense system, standing army, navy, air force and training programs? What does Khalsa Fauj have compared to other militaries? Absolutely nothing and that is because we have no political state. Any Sikh can practice his faith quietly in his home but the entire Panth cannot make a progress without having any independent rule. Guru Sahib didn’t make us quietist. He made us active householders. We will always remain at the mercy of the rulers in our respective countries and when the law changes, it will be our throat. Examples of France, Quebec and Belgium are in front of us. Italy doesn’t allow any Sikh to board a plane without taking his turban off. No one can guarantee that USA, Canada or other countries will always remain democratic, tolerant and liberal. Nonetheless, these countries cannot represent Sikhs as Sikhs. We need a country that represents us worldwide as Sikhs so that no matter where a Sikh has problems due to his religion, there will be a political state supporting him and he can always go to his nearby Khalistan embassy. Our Gurdwaras deteriorating in Muslim countries are due to our lack of political platform. I can go on and on but benefits of political country are numerous. No one has to move back but I am sure many Sikhs will and I personally will never stay in any western country even if I have to survive on one meal a day in Khalistan. Now let me address some questions: Can muslim do namaz, do hallal, sunnat based on their own traditions in the khalistan? Yes but in their own mosques not publically. This means no azan in speakers. Can hindus do gita da patt, puja, rituals in the khalistan? Yes, in their homes and mandirs. What about others buddhist, christians, shintos etc? Yes. Can sumaraie carry their own ceremonial swords, walk around in streets of khalistan? Yes as long as they abide by the law and don’t use in offense. Can atheist can live in khalistan? Yes. It is their personal belief and forcing religion on anyone is against Gurmat. what about natural born homosexuals? First of all, it has not been proven that homosexuals are natural born or it is in their genes. Second, they cannot be considered Sikhs. Therefore, while their human rights will be guaranteed and they will not be discriminated in employment, they cannot have marriage rights nor can their Anand Karaj be done. They will have to live as individuals. They cannot hold any positions exclusively for Sikhs i.e. Granthi, katha vachak, Panj Pyare etc. These questions are simply mundane because our focus should be on our own survival rather than opposing Khalistan due to uncertainty of other groups’ rights. In Muslim countries, non-Muslims have no right yet they are surviving. In many European countries, Sikhs have limited rights yet they are surviving. I am not saying we will be like them but focus on our survival first and then think about other groups and immigrants. If Muslims, Hindus and Christians don’t like it they can appeal in Sikh courts or go back to their own countries. Guru Rakha

  35. Good post bro, i agree with most of it except Current British constitution equal rights for all should not be held responsible for previous gov't forgein policy. No one is asking sikhs to go to france, we cannot expect all countries to welcome immigrants, they may have their reasons however justified or not justified based on their opression history, its not only sikhs- christians, hindus, muslims have same issues there in france. Best way we can do is follow gurbani universal message ourselves in our seperate land. I m not totally against khalistan, i would support it if its constitutions based on secular gurbani universal message/ anandpur sahib resolution as soon as its constitution is driven by jathas/samparda's/group politics/agenda - i refuse to support it and i m sure it will lose lot of neutral people support. I would support khalistan if church and state (still driven by universal gurbani message) are kept seperate. Also i support khalistan based on peaceful means, as soon there is violence..movement is gone down hill and would loose its support -especially at this modern day and age. It's proven fact, most peaceful movements are successful, toughest to infiltrate and sabotage from outside as it tends to win mass public/celebrity opinion and support compare to violent movement etc. I would even support the idea of renaming khalistan to sikhistan, sikhmark, sikhghar, sikh mahal etc and let highly educated -political economic science degree holder and spiritual sikhs to start fresh/restructure ideas/anandpur sahib resolution as khalistan name itself have too many negative violent connotations (whether from media/goi and or sikh itself self inflicted image) attached to it.

  36. The Supreme Court bench heard today, that the Centre has "no problem" with the commutation of Professor Devinderpal Singh Bhullar's death sentence in to a life term. The petition filed by his wife Navneet Kaur, was on the grounds of relief due to a delay by the government in deciding his mercy plea which was filed in 2003. Attorney General Vahanvati told the bench headed by Chief Justice Sathasivam, "this is a case which has to be allowed because the mercy petition of the convict was decided after a delay of eight years". A short order will be pronounced by the Court on 31st March. This petition was filed after the landmark judgement made in January this year, when the court held that prolonging the execution of a death sentence has a "dehumanising effect" on condemned prisoners who have to face the agony of waiting for years under the shadow of death during the pendency of the mercy plea. While this has no doubt provided some relief in the 20+ years battle to clear Professor Bhullar's name, Sikh organisations and human rights activists have been calling for Professor Bhullar's immediate release, saying there can be 'no other outcome' to this grave injustice against an innocent man. If you bought land worth 2100 rupees in 1934, it would be worth more than 5 Crore today (50 million rupees). At least he put his money where his heart is. The guy in the video is typical hardcore-missionary propaganda trying to discredit/attack well-known and well-accepted Sikh scholars/historians/researchers. The guy is acting like Bhai Vir Singh Jee is part of RSS or something. The grant of Backward Class status to the Jatt Sikhs will enable them to get reservation in government jobs. Jatt Sikhs of Punjab had been left out of the Indian Cabinet’s decision because the Punjab government had failed to bring the community in the State Backwards Class list. A few days earlier, the Indian Cabinet decided to include the Jat community in the central list of Other Backward Classes in nine States: Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan. The latest move by the Punjab Cabinet will now facilitate a proclamation by the Government of India that Jatt Sikhs are now, nationally, a Backward Class.

  41. SriGuruGranthSahib Maharajh is full of Bairaag; Gurbaani emphasises the need for detachment, whilst remaining a part of society. The Granth "Vairaag Shatak", or any other Granth will never be on a par with SGGS. Vairaag Shatak gives beautiful examples of the torment caused by over indulgence, and the extreme attachment to materialism. Rajah Bharthari became tyaghi, prior to Baba Nanak coming to earth; hence Bharthari's methods are not completely in line with Gurmat. The bottom line, however, is that Raja Bharthari's vairaag teaches one the signifance and bliss of tyagh; if we take the Granth in the context of Gurbani, then we can benefit from that tremendously. "Vairaag Shatak", amongst many other sanatan Granths have been studied, in conjunction with SGGS Ji, in all the puratan Taksals, and still do so today. Nothing can ever replace SGGS, but the study of sanatan Granths can expand on the teachings contained therein. If my translations have caused any offence, then I apologise unreservedly; my intention is not to replace SGGS, in any way, but to gain a deeper understanding of the philosophy contained within. Thank you for taking the time to point out the error of my ways; at my age, I should not be using this forum, since it is, after all "voice of the youth". A very big heartfelt thanks to the Sangat, and the Admin for allowing to share my views. Waheguru....

  42. The under lying message in Vairaag Shatak is Vairaag {renunciation}; Gurbani stresses the importance of Vairaag, in order to break free from Kaam/krodh/lobh/moh/ahankar. What made India a nation of cowards, was not Vairaag; the thing that made India a nation of sub-servients, was spiritual corruption, the attachment to materialism, and the distancing of folk from self discipline. This Granth teaches one the importance of Vairaag, and the need for self discipline etc. Rajah Bharthari used physical renunciation; becoming a beggar, in essence. Gurmat teaches us to work for a living; to help the needy too, in a charitable manner. The bottom line is VAIRAAG; if it can be learned from this Granth, there is no harm. Anything that distances us from Kaam/krodh/lobh/moh/ahankar, is definitely worth reading..... Waheguru....

  44. Satnaam These bits really stood out in your post. I have been slandered by many when going through stages of bhagti.. Looking back, I was heartbroken at the things people did and said(Gurbani says never break another's heart). I used to pick up peoples pain(This happens to bhagats at a point) and wonder how people could be so cruel, that I was absorbing their hurt and pain and they were hitting me when I was down- giving me more pain to add on to it. Then I realised that it was all Hukam- it was all God's plan- it made me a stronger bhagat- I realised for myself that the slander was a Huge blessing- It broke down my ego- made me realise I couldn't do anything on my own and that He is the only doer. It taught me to be the lowest of the low- and it was Him who was teaching me in the costume of my slanderers. It taught me to open my heart and see Him in every form, in every costume and scenario He appeared to me in. Love Him in your slanders, your tormentors, love Him in the devil(and remember that even the most evil demons live in pain, as deserved), in the angel, in heaven and hell(positive and negative karams). True acceptance of Him and His will is True Love. This life is a khel- a test world to discover Truth. We may learn not to upset people, to watch ourselves and our actions, but if others choose not to- that is just hukam. We can teach them, but even if they don't listen, we must truly accept that they are at their own stage of discovery as He wills it We must not judge them, for they are unrealised God's- walking, speaking, slandering at His command. We must understand it is not yet their time to discover the Truth. This is respecting and accepting God's Will- this is True Love. God bless you Kiv sacẖi▫ārā ho▫ī▫ai kiv kūrhai ṯutai pāl. So how can you become truthful? And how can the veil of illusion be torn away? 46. Sorry about the broken post earlier, I was posting from an Iphone and the second bit didn't come up. What I was going to say, is that As a Sikh who trusts in God as opposed to the devil(for there is no in between- you're either a slave to maya(devil) or a slave to God(true freedom)) you should accept His Hukam as Gurbani asks us to, regardless of what your mind leads you to believe. Remember that the mind/ego/identity is the cause of the 5 theives- which is why we are asked to give the Guru our head, and live by our hearts- our true Heart is God's heart. Once you begin to live your heart- (which is beyond logic) by stepping on the path of the Guru- having given your head- you begin to understand the khel more and the acceptance and Love for Him grows. Guru Nanak Ji says: If you want to play the game of love, come to my lane with your head on the palm. On this path, do not hesitate to lay down your life. If we haven't accepted in Nirboah and Nirvair that All is God and that All is His will- that all is karam- we have not truly surrendered. Our Gurus were All Powerful- at One with the lord. Do you honestly think that they could not have gotten up and saved children who were being tortured at the time? With one action, they could have made Satyug on earth again.. But they accepted God's will to the point that some were burned alive, some were jailed, some accepted their children being bricked alive as Hukam- Guru Gobind Singh Ji could easily have put a stop to his children being killed- He respected God's will and laws so much that he accepted the hukam. Remember that SatGurus/ Brahmgyanis are All Knowers of the past, present and future- if they could accept God's hukam without complaint, having seen the events coming before they even happened- then why should we think we're any higher or better? Āsā mėhlā 1. Aasaa, First Mehl: Kẖurāsān kẖasmānā kī▫ā hinḏusaṯān darā▫i▫ā. Having attacked Khuraasaan, Baabar terrified Hindustan. Āpai ḏos na ḏe▫ī karṯā jam kar mugal cẖaṛā▫i▫ā. Unto whom should we complain? Ḏukẖ sukẖ ṯerai bẖāṇai hovai kis thai jā▫e rū▫ā▫ī▫ai. Pleasure and pain come by Your Will; unto whom should we go and cry? Hukmī hukam cẖalā▫e vigsai Nānak likẖi▫ā pā▫ī▫ai. ||7||12|| The Commander issues His Command, and is pleased. O Nanak, we receive what is written in our destiny. ||7||12| You can argue that we don't deserve what we get until you're out of breath, but the law of karma is, always was and always will be perfect- as we sow, so do we reap. It is not about lacking emapthy/compassion- compassion is part of the reason the Gurus taught us the Truth on earth. They taught people to practice the Truth in every action, in every moment. Guru Gobind Ji taught us to defend. The Gurus taught us that this world is an illusion- and that we have the choice to get up and and become free of the illusion (maya)- of all of the worldly <banned word filter activated> and of the game of karma. It's kalyug, all of this darkness is not here for no reason- it is required for a full scale fight back against it- the more darkness there is, the greater the light will be when we get up and challenge/ take on the ignorance of maya with Truth. Yes some people reap some beyond awful karams, of course we have compassion- the bhagats come to hear and feel the screams of those who are suffering- that is why it is up to us to shed selfishnes(sense of 'I') and Get Up and Serve- to help others get out of this cycle of constant suffering. Even when we are in worldly sukh, we carry around the pain of many lifetimes. The best that we can do is to stop procrastinating- instead of claiming compassion- accept that karam is in play, start living your heart and act on your feelings of compassion by helping others become free of maya by living in Truth as our beloved Gurus did. 47. No, outer rehat is not the most difficult, the amritdhari may perhaps find that slander that may come with it is very difficult to overcome, but there is nothing difficult about keeping outer rehat. And in fact, some who keep outer rehat do not even bother about keeping inner rehat as I'm sure you well know- they're living too comfortable thinking they've got it on lockdown just by donning the amritdhari dress, waking up at amritvela and keeping away from meat, alcohol etc(all Easy as pie). With inner rehat comes challenges that the bhagat never saw coming, the tests that lead one into moments of deep depression, into hell realms, at times slandered continuously- the bhagat begins to see, feel, smell and taste the filth all around, until they become psychologically sound by recognising it is only Him everywhere, in the at times bordering on unbearable pain as well as the pleasure. The world as we know it becomes a completely different place, the demons are rife everywhere(human beings with a hellish psychology who cause this age to be Kalyug)- these tests are the most difficult to pass, of loving all equally no matter what, of accepting His hukam no matter how bad it gets.. The Gurus children were killed, two young ones were tortured- yet he accepted this as sweet hukam, as it was all God himself- this is the kind of great great psychology that the bhagat must adopt to destroy the thieves- how can this even be comparable to outer rehat?

  48. You're being tested- whether you pass depends on how much you want it... Do naam simran, embark on the path of bhagti as Gurbani asks you to do- this is the Real(and the highest) seva and the Real Paath- Gurbani i.e The Teacher teaches us not to read it over and over- But to actually BECOME it. We begin to do this and eventually become it by doing bhagti,
