Can you read or you just have to say something for the sake of it. For your understanding again we are talking about our Gurus who gave the name Amritsar and not about any Sant or Babas.

Do you not even know what you yourself have been saying ?

You've been referring to those that say 'Ambarsar' as "backward" and non-Sikh.

I don't know why.....I mean there must be a reason......but I just don't know why some of you are covering your eyes and ears and pretending that you just haven't seen or heard how Sant Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale, in his speeches, also used to call Amritsar 'Ambarsar'.

You see and read that and yet you still continue to label all those that do as 'illiterate backward pendus' and non-sikhs. :wow:

veera please provide an example because Sant ji's ucharan was impeccable and I can't think of hearing him with that thick accent to say it that way, maybe I'm wrong because I just loved listening to him I looked passed the distractions and to the message.

I don't have recordings to hand jkvlondon. I wouldn't even know how to access them now and put them on this website. I.T. is not my forte. But, like most of you, I have listened to his talks and I've also listened to kathas by so many eminent Sikh Giyanis. I've also listened to so many dhaddis singing about Amritsar. The one thing they all have in common is that they all pronounce the place as Ambarsar. They do so because they are talking and singing in Punjabi, and virtually all Punjabi speakers pronounce it as Ambarsar. What would be surprising is if they didn't say Ambarsar because then one would have to guess that Punjabi isn't their first language or mother tongue. Since the day the city was formed it has been called Ambarsar by Punjabis. Amritsar by non-Punjabis....but Ambarsar by native Punjabi speakers.

Please forgive me for not having the time to source his speeches but I'm sure its something you could do relatively easily.

I wrote Sikhs call it Amritsar and Johnny explained why. Where did you read "non Sikh"?

I graduated with masters over 10 years ago -check my linkedin ? Re read the thread where is your anti caste post? All other threads you do post your anti caste message, but where is in this one? BTW are you still a student? Or are you a father of two school age kids?

Are you taking something to remedy your confused mind set? First you write that I don't mind bhatras. When I tell you that I have done that in the previous posts you get confused and ask why I did not post my anti caste comment here. Again forgetting language is being discussed here and not any rotten castes.I feel sorry for your teachers who taught you and awarded you a degree.

I said I haven't got any speeches sitting in my pocket just on the off-chance that someone randomly asks me to upload them.

If you have then you post them for us.

Either way, please tell us all what not having uploads and, for that matter, not knowing how to upload, has got to do with 'being in Punjab in the 80's' ? :ohno:

Remember saying this JSinghnz ? : "Amritsar for Sikhs and Ambarsar for crude, backward Punjabis" :stupidme:

Brother just give reference to one person today who in day to day speaks the same punjabi as our great Guru sahibs did. Answer is none, natural evolution from the same period no one speaks the same English, not even the queen of England! Btw no such thing as vocal Gurmukhi punjabi, that is literal.

No one is saying to speak the same language as the Gurus spoke. But Amritsar is a religious Gurmukhi word and not a Punjabi word. Then how can we ruin this word by giving preference to our Punjabi accent over something that Gurus had uttered and holds religious significance? The word Amritsar is in Gurbani a number of times. What is uttered by our Gurus in Gurbani is like a line etched in stone. It cannot be changed by Sikhs. While Punjabi language like all languages can evolve but Gurbani cannot be changed. It should be pronounced exactly the way our Gurus had pronounced it. If our Gurus said Amritsar, then it is Amritsar not Ambarsar even if 99% of Sikhs today mispronounce it Ambarsar. We should never mix what majority demographics do as being correct. Majority of this world has Kalyugi habbits like drinking Sharab and cutting hair or practice Jaat-Paat discrimination, should we all start saying this is correct because majority Sikhs have now starting doing this?

Agreed Veer ji but a couple of vids he was slightly nasal that was as close as it got to ambarsar (???) but I maintain that he only ever says Amritsar .

I got to tell you nobody in my Nanakey, Dadakey or allied houses to my family have ever said Ambarsar ...that's why I originally asked . Plain lazy ... like 'Sas re kaal ' instead of Sat Sri Akaaalllll !!! why are people murdering our Maa Boli (face palm)

The answer to your question is easy. These

people are murdering our Maa Boli because they have more time for their own tribes, rotten caste system, regions than Sikhi.

    • Yeah i think too that bhai jugraj was made shaheed just too suspicious the way he was taken out when he started talking about political reality and truth about this world. They left him alone when he was just talking about spiritual stuff but when he applied the miri puri concept of Sikhi that all Sikhs should I think they did something to his body. Either poisoned his food with carcinogenics or radioactive stuff or x-ray beams (which are known covert weapons used by world powers to take out their targets covertly and plausible deniability). He used to mostly started basics of sikhi to combat the dawah islamic and christian missionaries targeting sikhs for conversion. So they didn't like it when he used to do that fearless confrontation parchar that basics of sikhi on the streets and in street stalls. Now since he has passed there is a lack and void of that. Then he started to talk about making all of india as khalistan and having khalsa raj that upset the hindu extremists and indian nationalists. He also exposed British empires role in destroying Sikh sovereignty and taking part in genocides against us from 1840s to 1990s. So he made alot of powerful enemies with his truthful and fearless parchar that was converting hundreds of non-sikhs to Sikhi by the week and educating ignorant Sikhs back into true Sikhi. He would often visit this forum i heard and get good idea's that he got from members from here and would talk about in his speeches e.g he talked about establishing a UK takht to have political power of Sikhs aboard away from india's captured and control sri akal takht. So the enemies of Sikhi were trembling at the power 1 man with a youtube channel had. I believe one of the enemies must have done something to take him out to silence him forever and attempt to block the revival of global Sikh spirituality and political awakening.
    • Quite an interesting book alot of truths in that. Also exposed the Indian establishments hand in terrorist acts aboard especially in canada and then blaming Sikhs for it. Using Sikh patsy indian military intelligence agents like talwinder parmer to do their bidding then extrajudicial killing him (or disappearing him) when he got back to punjab. Also this is guy below exposed other agents who were founders of the BKI militant group. One of the guys was a canadian intelligence agent and probably and indian r&aw agent given cover by the indian embassy CSIS subtly talking about indian govt interference, subversion and terrorism on canadian soil
