Can Sikhi be separated from the land of Punjab?

I always tend to disregard any sentence that begins with 'Most' because its always followed by some unsubstantiated 'fact' which is always invariably wrong.

Can it be separated? Yes it can. 

Should it be separated? I don’t think so. Are there any benefits of this?

If we want sikhi to survive long term into centuries, then yes we need panjab. Because we have panjab,.we can safely neglect teaching our children panjabi, keeping  copes of our sceiptures, teaching our kids santhiya or maryada. Because we can rely on ppl from panjab and babas in deras to do all that.

Imagine, the future was only in the diaspora's hands. Would we be able to do what the jewish ppl did for over 2 centuries? Keep their torah, hebrew, passover holidays, sabbath maryada etc alive?

Look at the threads we have: is it okay to let our kids celebrate christmas, during the time of shaheediyan?

In theory it is possible to keep a religion alive without a homeland as the Jewish ppl did. But honestly, I dont think we panjabis or sikhs could do it. The jewish ppl in the beginning were known for being niaareh, different. They did not assimilate and were hounded for clinging to their different language and traditions in Europe. I think this lasted as long as they were nomadic and leaving as groups. But when they started to settle they started to become lax. 

Sikhs already are assimilating. Intermarrying. Forgerting their traditions. Also in most sikhs, panjabiyat is stronger than sikhi.

Heck. Jewish did one better. They took somebody elses culture and managed to pass that on as their own. Twice the work of maintaining one's own heritage.

I agree 100% 

Majority of the people who have become Singh's here in the UK in last decade or so, have been individuals whose parents are from India and they themselves were born here, so they know how to speak Punjabi. 

The 3rd generations here, majority of whom don't know how to speak Punjabi or know anything about Punjab are a lost cause and are unable to get into Sikhi. It's a bit too late for them in most cases. 

But I don't think many people realise this, or have payed attention to this. 

Goes to show how connected the language(culture) and Sikhi are. 

3rd generation here who don't know how to speak Pubjabi are coconuts so they find it really hard to get into Sikhi. Even their demure, body language is the same as the White man, which looks quite f@g-ish on a brown guy. 

People first give their dharam up, then the language(culture) and then their names, it's a slow, maybe fast? , assimilation into the local people and culture, the culture of the host country. 

It's already happening.

Before Sikhi is taught, a child learns a language first, which in our case is Punjabi, the language then becomes the foundation and link to Sikhi. 

Language plays such a key role in ones identity, one who has abandoned their own language and adopted the language of the foreign man, is already half way into assimilating into the local people, what hope or chance can dharam have then?

A few weeks back I was reading the comments under a dailymail article on the whole black lives matter thing. Some very angry and heated comments, one comment which I presume was written by a Black person questioned what is the culture of White people(sarcastically) and the reply by a a White man was "to start of with, the language you are writing in"   to which the Black person, obviously, didnt reply back to because it was basically a slap on the face. 

Many future Punjabis will be in the same situation as that Black person.

So who did the holocaust target  if not the descendents of jews in europe?
