  1. Gurbani is clear what the true pilgrimage for a Sikh is. But on the flip side, the kumbh mela is a spectaular event and we should use the opportunity to do parchar of Gurmat and bring the people that attend it, into the sharan of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Jee...i'm sure the Nirmale will be there but i still think it's a missed opportunity by the panth to spread the True path to those who are lost without Satguru Jee's Gurbani.

  4. Its difficult to do their darshan because they are so hard to find, they remain gupt. However they do come out of their bhora once a year on the night of 24th of December. In that case on this particular day make sure you put some karah prasad in some stockings and hang them up on a mantel piece by a chimney. If you havent got a chimney they wont give you darshan. That was a gupt secret they told me.

  6. The biggest problem with us is that we think others are like us too. Wake up Khalsa jee, others are NOT like us. We have a Pooran SatGuru who gave us character, who taught us to be just even in times of strife. Can the others look up their history and say the same about those they worship? Wake up, don't expect others to have your level of deen-imaan, your kind of integrity, your type of Khalsaaee kadar-keemat. We have our Gurdev Pita jee Sahib-E-Kamaal Sri Guru Gobind Singh Jee Maharaj, the one and only personality on this planet who did bhagti in bir rass. Anyone else qualifies? NO! Wake up, no one else has the sense of belonging the way we do, we belong only to our Gurdev Pita jee. Who do others belong to? Whose tokens of love do they carry the way we carry our kakaars? We are blessed with a saroop because we carry a responsibility. Does anyone else qualify? NO! Wake up! Stop trusting just about anyone because they are nice from time to time. Stop expecting others to be the way you are because you are a different breed since you are to abide by a mandatory norm. When Dasmesh Pita jee said that Khalsa is to stay niyaara, it also means that no one else is like the Khalsa. No one else has the kind of character that Khalsa has, no one else has deen-imaan, kadar-keemat the way Khalsa does, no one else has a satkaarjog saroop that Khalsa has. All these people around you are under NO obligation to be the best human beings, but you blessed Khalsas will have the sweet burden of that Guru-given duty on your head till you die. Wake up! Love all, trust a few, but have no expectations from anyone Khalsa jee, because Khalsa lives a life of commitment to our SatGuru Patshah jee, others tend to live a life they at times find aimless and can't define even themselves. Wake up! There is way we are expected to live in society, and that was given to us by our param pyaare SatGuru Patshah jee long before these man-made handwritten laws were created or implemented. I am not asking you to look down upon anyone, or to hate anyone, or to dislike anyone, or to degrade or put anyone down. I am only begging you to please be niyaare in every aspect of your lifestyle. And I am only rebuking myself to stand up and be who and what I am, NOT who and what the world wants to see me as. - Mehtab Singh

  8. So I was up in Manchester today. It was rubbish. Never been that far north before but prepared myself to see eastern European level of poverty and deprivation. I saw something else though that shocked me more. To get into Manchester, when you come off the motorway, you have to drive right through a very run down Jamaican neighbourhood called Moss Side. This neighbourhood also, apparently, has a sizeable and old Sikh community. So I'm driving along their main High Street called Princess Road and notice a Shop with 2 big Khandas on its signage. A big Khanda on the left side and a big Khanda on the right side. Between them were the words 'alcohol' and 'cigarettes'. Have a look for yourselves. Just do a Google Maps search and then a street view for 99 Princess Road, Manchester.

  9. The story about Baba Dhumma's taksal faction changing gurbani is not accurate. Just doing a simple search on the net has provided these examples, not to mention a pdf of a Puratan Saroop of Aad Guru which i downloaded from the net. http://www.flickr.com/photos/jivanpalsingh/3043777885/in/photostream/ So we can safely say that it is not accurate reporting that there has been any changes by Baba Dhumma's Taksal, just that they are copying from a version that doesnt havent. Some of you should know better than to pick up the story's of these sorts and post them here to make yourself look important and other look stupid.

  13. I just looked at the picture multiple times and correct me if I'm wrong, those pictures you posted confirm that Dhumma changed Gurbani? If you compare the changed one by Dhumma it removed the dandian all together which is deliberate. If he had done it exactly like the ones you posted above do you really think there would have been a problem? You either do it right, admit a mistake or expect to be seeing for what he is doing.

  20. Mr.Doaba is a Brahmgyani himself. Don`t bother him with Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib ji Maharaj truth of telling Sikhs not to participate in Holi and take up Hola Mohalla. Mr.Doaba was educated by a top notch university, which says to a person no need to learn how to conduct research, analyze, compare & contrast, and then apply. The university's name was Pay to go degree......24 hour drive through........30% discount if you buy two degrees Next these Brahmgyanis will say Satguru was wrong for going against throwing colors on each other during Holi. OOOOO wait many of the Sikhs in india are already doing this by participating in this foolish act.

  22. Kully give it a rest bro. Like you said before, I think its best you come away from the computer and concentrate on your jeevan my brother. FYI from my spending time in his akara and around him, I can confirm that surjit is not good for anyones jeevan (just take a look at the actions of his so called students and then hold what they say and do against the infallible litmus test that is Gurbani). Shastar Vidiya is only a stupid man waving a sword around if you don't have the Guru, Naam and seva to go along side it. And don't forget SV is not exclusive to one man and does not limit itself to a certain period or time, so do make sure you have all aspects of the vidiya including the mighty weapon that is the PEN! "in fact ive said before i agree with the majority of taran0 posts" - So to be clear majority, can mean NOT ALL. Please clarify what parts of Bhai Taran ji's website or posts you do not agree with so that we can get him to help you see the light?

  24. Language is a very powerful tool. You have to learn how to use it well. The word 'moderate' , to the average man and woman in the world, means level-headed, sane and fair. By saying in your title how the youths have defeated the 'moderates', it translates as hot-headed insane and unfair extremists have defeated the sane and the fair. The people you call 'moderates' are in fact the extremists. There is Sikhism and the tenets of Sikhism is all too clear. The Sikh youth you talk about are the moderates because they adhere to Sikhism without any distortions. The ones you call 'moderates' are the extremists because they think they can distort Sikhism to suit their own purpose and political beliefs. So extreme in fact that they distort it for the benefit of India rather than Sikhism. Thats about as extremist as extremism gets.

  25. My assessment of the situation with regards the abject failure of the Sikhs to protect their own interests in the years leading up to the transfer of power and corresponding massacre... Is that the Sikhs at the time were always on a hiding to nothing from the moment they had the fallacy to imagine that their comparitively recently acquired economic power/wealth would automatically translate to the safeguarding of their own interests. (our ancestors weren't always so wealthy and had only really experienced wealth on a mass scale since around 1800) In summary, they, and their leaders, were simply waaay too over confident. They placed too much faith on others. Firstly, on the British, to honour their wealth, social status and history of service to the empire. (like they really cared) Secondly, on Gundhi & Nehru, the two of whom they miserably failed to understand, and the Hindus at large. Thirdly, you could add, on their erstwhile friends, companions and neighbours, the Muslims, whom they hadn't expected to take advantage of the hapless minority Sardar in the most indecent and cruel manner. In short, they trusted just about everyone except themselves and each other! Similar story eh. I'm quite sure that the proud recent ruler status of the minority Sikh nation could not have played less than a significant part in motivating all three of the above to some extent or other in successfully attempting to gain comeuppance at the expense of their former rulers by betraying the Sikhs so callously. What the Sikhs at the time really failed to realise... (unlike their not distant ancestors)... is that during times of political, social, economic turmoil... when a man doesn't know what is about to happen next let alone in 5, 10, 20 years time... Wealth and social status (in any form other than ability to acquire manpower and weapons) counts for SWEET F A. That's why they got battered before, during, and after 1947, except for the two weeks from the latter half of August 1947, when, with the not unconsiderable incitement, provocation, assistance and motivation of the Hindu RSS (I ain't about to pretend it ain't so), they managed to save some sort of face for the humiliating and quite unprecedented comprehensive loss they had suffered. Unfortunately, the Sikhs, on a massive scale, failed to learn from this hopeless episode. The saying goes "you've decided where to make your bed... so now lie in it." Therefore, they have continued, on the whole, to maintain the acquisition, retention, and creation of wealth, the major, if not, sole objective of their existence. They have mostly discarded the pursuit of halemi khalsa raaj for a mere survival existence founded on compliance and sometimes downright collaboration with the natural enemies of the path revealed by the SatGuru, whom they claim to follow. So SatGuru Maharaj has given them what they have asked for. I.e. Wealth. Not Justice. Which is quite fine. Because Maharaj has given them what they asked for. So everyone's happy. Right? Just one problem. That the natural consequence involved with this mentality, i.e. excessively materialistic behaviour and blind pursuit of wealth, is that, quite inevitably, they are consigning themselves to repeat the same mistake over and over again. Refer the jewish nation. Successful nations are those that learn and re-learn, and apply, and adapt to the changing situation accordingly. Those nations that fail to do this disappear off the map. This is evolution put into practice. Survival of the fittest. Anyway, it seems that the Sikh nation learnt nothing out of their holocaust in 1947. They have continued on the same track, making the same mistake, and I'm sure they will continue to. Which is a real shame, as it bears no relation to their ancestors that I read about. What happened to the businesses and vast landownings they lost in 1947. Did Maharaj feel pity on them and give it back? No, but they went all out to recover it all the same. There are so many obscenely rich Sikh millionaires with so much property but how many of them are bearing the best arms or even educating themselves or their children about their heritage and path? Sant jee woke up the Quom. Many elders still feel the loss of the leadership that he provided because it has never been replaced. He reminded us of our path and he spelt out for us how to put it into practice. Not slogans, not words. Actions, and deeds. However, whether the Sikhs will finally accept the 52 Hukamnamay of The Tenth King, which the great Sant Jee held so dear, is a matter I will leave for another day.

  32. (2012) the Khaleej Times (Dubai, United Arab Emirates) Sikhs barred from owning farm-land in Gujarat cry foul Sikh farmers settled in Gujarat have accused the Narendra Modi government of harassing them by taking drastic measures to take over their agricultural land cultivated by them for decades. A delegation of these ryots, some of them born in Kutch district of Gujarat, has gone to their home states of Punjab and Haryana to sensitise the two state governments about the gravity of the situation after the then Kutch collector froze their agriculture accounts, saying they were holding the land illegally. The Gujarat government said the action was taken under the provisions of the 1972 Kutch Area Tenancy Act and the Gujarat Tenancy Act that prohibited tillers from outside Gujarat to own farm-land in the state. Around 30 non-Gujarat agriculturists who have been living in Kutch since 1966 had approached the Gujarat High Court in 2008. Much to their joy, the court, in a landmark judgement in June last, ruled that a farmer from anywhere in India could purchase agricultural land in Gujarat. The court quashed a 1972 state government circular that barred farmers from outside Gujarat to own land in the state as an agriculturist. But the Sikh farmers are still worried and decided to take their case to Punjab and Haryana ministers, Shiromani Akali Dal leaders and other powerful authorities in their home states as the Gujarat government has now challenged the high court order in the Supreme Court. Tej Ram Rania, an affected farmer, told before leaving for Punjab on Saturday that the fact that the Modi administration had moved the apex court meant that it was bent on throwing out Sikh ryots from Gujarat. According to Rania, a land mafia in Gujarat had conspired to grab their agricultural land and the Sikh farmers had been barred from meeting Modi. He said the land of Punjabis and Haryanvis was being purchased by land mafia and politicians at throwaway prices. The farmers with permanent ownership of the land have all the relevant official documents such as the residence proof, land ownership papers, voter's identity cards, ration cards, electricity bills, mortgage deeds, and nationality and birth certificates of their children to make a claim. Sikhs from Punjab and Haryana went to Gujarat in 1965-66 when Lal Bahadur Shastri, the then prime minister, had given priority to farmers from Punjab to settle in the border areas for security purpose. "However, now the Gujarat government is bent upon snatching their lands under the provisions of an old and abandoned Bombay Act, 1958, saying they are from other states," said Raina, adding that in the last two years, the Kutch district collector had frozen the lands of more than 1,000 Sikh and Haryanvi farmer families and had taken all records into his custody. ___

  34. The nine granths are Chanaka Raajneeti Sarkutavali Bhavrasamrit Vichar Mala Vairag Shatak Parbodh Chandar Natak Adhiatam Parkash Birti Parbhakar Vichar Sagar These are only taught in Bhindra now all this vidiya has not existed at Mehta since Sant Jarnail Singh Ji stopped teching during the Dharam Yudh Morcha. Thse granths are needed as the basis to understand gurbani then further work can be done by learning the Vedant Paribhasha, Upnishads, Moksh Panth Parkash, Adhyatam Parkash, etc Only after these are studied should you start on the gazals of bhai nand lal and the works of Bhai Gurdas Ji. Giani Harbhajan Singh Ji Dhudhike Wale and Baba Hari Singh Ji Randhawe Wale are possibly the best ustaads at the moment for all these granths as many of the other ustaads have only worked up to vichar sagar and not even heard of the birti parbhakar.
