  1. Dear all, Recent acquittal of sajjan kumar proves that justice still eludes Sikhs. It is highy improbable Sikhs would ever get justice in this set up. We should take our case in international court of justice to (1) Send a message to India that Sikhs do not believe justice will ever be served in India. , (2)Get international acknowledgement crimes against humanity related to Sikhs took place. (3) International identification of the state, its involved parties, individuals who participated in massacare. (4) attempt to prove genocide of Sikhs happened. So far from the current reading, I think this is most challenging

  2. you liar. first you say you have read Sri Dasam Granth, and now say you have full reverence for Sri Chaupai Sahib. Do you know where Sri Chaupai Sahib is in Sri Dasam Granth ? sajjan got into it, because this GurSikh UK london thing needs to deflect from the real answers given to his questions. Dont try and be a weasel. Neo is not saying diversity includes rejecting of Scriptures of the Guru. Stop twisting his words. Will including tobacco using people make the panth stronger? Sri Dasam Granth is in harmony with Gurmat. There is not one point in Dasam Granth that refutes anything in Guru Granth Sahib.

  4. Hardliner elements in BJP who are also members of RSS had supported Indira Gandhi when she attacked Golden Temple. Vajpayee had called her Durga who saved the country. Nanaji Deshmukh a prominent leader of BJP and RSS stalwart had even issued a statement after massacre of Sikhs that this was bound to happen as sikhs were asking for a separate country. On the other hand quite a few Punjabi hindus belonging to BJP in Delhi had given protection to sikhs in their homes. Arun shourie who belongs to BJP was very active in support of sikhs in Nov 1984 massacre. Muslims from low cadre of society were involved in murdering sikhs in Delhi.Jains are hard core anti sikh community. The hate compaign against sikhs was in fact strted by Times of India editor Giri Lal Jain when he printed Anti sikh article on front page of this newspaper.

  5. This is the reason why the BJP has not pushed convictions of the guilty even when they have been in power. Convictions of any of the BJP and Congress leaders will open up all those involved in the Genocide. This include the Congress leadership, BJP ,Media, Police and Army, that's why no body is being convicted

  6. UKlondonsikh You write sarbjit dhundha as khalsa.I am reproducing what you wrote in post # 95 so that you do not backtrack Quote If you think I'm bad and if you think that Sarbhjit Singh Khalsa (Dhunda) and Bhai Panthpreet Singh Khalsa and the pro-Gurmat that wishes the Panth to focus on Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj and Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj's lifetime of Truth are the biggest enemies of Sikhi Unquote It is a well known fact that heretic dhundha does not believe in three banis from Dasam Granth sahib that are read while initiating a khalsa. These three banis are Jaap sahib, Swaiye and Chaupai sahib. He also does not believe in sikh ardas as its beginning pauri is from Dasam Granth sahib. Read below http://panthic.org/articles/5488 PANTHIC.ORG - The question we have posed before you is simple, if these Banees are not in Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji, where are they from? Who was the author of these three Banees? Can you please answer these simple queries? SARBJEET DHUNDA was unwilling to answer the query regarding the authorship of those Banees and declined to elaborate any further. PANTHIC.ORG - Bhai Sahib, your own ustad Inder Ghagga, who is connected to your Gurmat Gian Missionary group, has openly claimed that these three Banees (Sri Jaap Sahib, Twaparsaad Swaiyay, Chaupai Sahib) are derived from Hindu granths. On Chardi-Kala TimeTV (broadcasted from Patiala, Punjab), Ghagga claimed that Sri Jaap Sahib was present in Shiv Puran and Markande Puran. Do you also agree with Ghagga, as you are unwilling to share your thoughts about the origin of these Banees? Are they Guru Gobind Singh Sahib Ji’s Rachna or not? SARBJEET DHUNDA was unwilling to comment on the origins of Sri Jaap Sahib, Twaparsaad Swaiyay, Chaupai Sahib, and instead questioned us if we had any proof of their origin. Several GurSikhs at that time stood up and stated yes, we have proof and we have faith that these are Dasam Patshah Ji’s Banees as they are included in the oldest Saroops of Sri Dasam Granth Sahib from Bhai Mani Singh Ji and Baba Deep Singh Ji’s time, and these Banees begin with the prefix of “ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਮੁਖਵਾਕ ਪਾਤਿਸ਼ਾਹੀ ੧੦”, so there should be no doubt about their origins. Unquote Let us know how he became a khalsa without banis of Dasam Granth sahib? You write that you believe in chaupai sahib. But your role model whom you are touting here does not believe in these banis? Is there a different way to become khalsa other than followed by panth. Do you believe in Sikh rehat marayada and institution of akal takhat?

Did not you write that sindhis are sikhs even though if they smoke and believe in Hinduism. When challenged you wrote that you are talking about Dalits.Sindhis are not dalits. Do not you know that. They are high caste people in hinduism.Lies after lies.

  11. If you have no understanding then who gave you the certificate to question the authenticity of Guru Gobind Singh ji's bani ? You might be convinced by your 8th grade masters and not by the answers that Giani Sher Singh has to every illogical questions fake missionaries have put? If you have doubts about Dasam bani, then go to Giani ji (and other knowledgeable Gursikhs - not 8th grade profs. ) and ask the questions you have and clear your doubts. If you have joined Sikhsangat just to create controversies on Dasam bani and create doubts in others mind (which I believe is your main reason), then we can have a poll on who you have been able to convince so far with your illogical stand and you will come to know that your mission has failed badly. There should be no compromise in the firm stand regarding qeustioning authenticity of Dasam bani in the name of a 'debate' on a forum such as SikhSangat. Furthermore, I never mentioned from whom I listened that age so do not lie. I repeat : FAKE MISSIONARIES ARE COWARDS!

  12. This is shocking. For so long we have seen Hindutva type people saying how congress is wrong for killing Sikhs in anti Sikh riots, yet they themselves were involved in this. No wonder when BJP was in power, they did not take any action against congress even though at the time they had promised the Sikhs before winning the election. They are also guilty of the same crime. I'm surprised how many people from the Jain community are involved in this. I've met a few Jains in my life and they are very anti Sikh when it comes to 84 and Punjabi suba agitations. They will not say directly to your face but indirectly they will reveal how anti Sikh they are. So here it is folks, we already knew the HIndu role, the silent approval of killing of the Sikhs by the Indian Muslims as mentioned by Kursheed and now even Jain involvement in the anti Sikh genocide.

  13. It's a fine line, but if navigated carefully I believe it can help to enhance the appreciation of certain things being explained. You just have to think back to Guru Sahib's darbar when his kavis were producing their works, etc., and it seems like such a hub of creativity and vibrance. Sadly I think this aspect of Sikhi is considered unimportant by most of these one-track minded youth, and I'm afraid to say any such nuance will be lost to the ages, replaced by a shariat vibe where there's only black and white, and no room for self-expression that doesn't contradict Guru Sahib's teachings and spirit of conduct.

  16. He is taking cover of Dhundha to widen that rift. He has another agenda also. He says whole India is sikh. People who smoke and believe in Hinduism are also sikhs. He gives arguement that sikhs number will rise. That is what RSS says that all those living in India are primarily Hindus and for that they say Hinduism is not a religion but primarily Indian civilization. His opposition to Dasam Granth sahib is primarily rooted in their design that this granth teaches sikhs to resist tyranny and infuses Bir Rass for dharam yudh ka chao. If you say as Ladli fauj said that there is no debate on scriptures then he calls us taliban.

  17. One of our gyanis does this after the reading sometimes. He quotes famous Urdu verses when explaining certain points and its all quite relevant. I like it. The older men really like it because as a generation they would have been familiar with such poetry. Some younger Punjabis do not appreciate the subtleties of the line or words, even if they understand what is being said. The youth born and brought up in this country are totally lost though - then again their Punjabi does not seem to stretch beyond, 'SatSriAkal, Hanji and Nahin.'

  18. It's shocking really. I always felt bad vibes from the few Jains I have met due to them indirectly attacking Sikhs, but I really had no idea of their role in 84. It seems only the Dravidians from the south and communists in Bengal did not contribute to the suffering of the Sikhs in 84. But everyone else thought "it is open season on the Sikhs, so let's make them suffer."

  20. I completely agree with all of the above. Finding the right person (someone we connect with on an emotional level) is so very difficult these days. A few moments with the right person is wonderful. But 3 years? That can't be dismissed so quickly. But then the father is also absolutely correct, and I respect him for his stance on the issue. Too many parents these days are weak-willed and unable to handle their households, and the father has to take into account many considerations and points of view before making a decision.

  22. Sada Haq showing in Punjab and Chandigarh to full houses Indian Express Resonating beats of the dhol, energetic displays of bhangra, jubilant victory calls of 'waheguru ji ki khalsa, waheguru ji ki fateh' - the first day's first show of the controversial Punjabi film Sadda Haq saw all these and a full house in theatres, starting with sold-out shows at Piccadilly Square in Sector 34. After the ban imposed by the Punjab government on the film on April 5, the producers had moved the Supreme Court and made history by winning the petition. Also, for the first time, a Punjabi film has been given an A Certificate. The film was re-released in Punjab, Delhi, Haryana, Jammu and Chandigarh this Friday. Directed by Mandeep Benipal, the film stars Kuljinder Singh Sidhu, Gaurav Kakkar, Nidhi Sidhu, Dhriti Sharan, Parmod Moutho among others. Based on terrorism in the eighties and nineties in Punjab, Sadda Haq throws light on this 'dark period' of the state. The story of Sadda Haq narrates the journey of terrorists Jagtar Singh Hawara and Balwant Singh Rajoana, their jail break and the assassination of Chief Minister Beant Singh. However, it also tries to present the both sides of the coin - the 'terrorist's' point of view and the police's orders to 'wipe out terriorism at all costs'. The story unfolds when a research student from Canada (Sharan) interviews the protagonist Kartar Singh (played by Sidhu) locked behind bars for her thesis. Through their conversations and flashbacks, the student tries to piece together the events and the reason they took place. There are conflicting ideologies, for while Kartar speaks about police insensitivity, the lack of government's apathy and justice denied, the keepers of the system defend it with their 'call of duty' and 'how terrorists too vandalised and killed innocent families'. Overall, the film does not excel in the department of sharp editing or cinematography, but it makes up for it in music and story. The major edit is pixellating the face of 'home minister of the state' in the film. The speech at the end too was re-shot, and changed to that of a more pro-active government that is for, by and of the people, and propounds freedom, democracy and equality. Meanwhile, the controversy, the ban and the hype trailing the film has worked in its favour and acted as a major crowd puller. Students, youngsters and families thronged the cinemas. A group of 20 boys from Mohali and Kharar made it for the first show. "We are a generation looking for answers, and our parents have been through this. I am happy that Punjabi cinema has got one film that is different, not a mindless romcom," say Omkar and Narinder Singh.

  23. I think you did the right thing. If you do smash some racist's face and then get called into see the teachers the best way to get out of it is to fake regret, say you are willing to apologise in person or in writing but also say that you were provoked and that you tried to ignore the racist but in the end you reacted. I agree with Inquillab Jindabaad. Too many Singhs now act like cowards when provoked. I am not saying that Singhs should just start a fight at the first instance but should tell the person first that you don't like his comments and he should stop. If he doesn't then you have to smash his face in. You have to look at the bigger picture. If he gets away with his comments on the Dastar then he will think that Sikhs don't mind when someone does this. So he will continue with other Sikhs and his mates will do the same. In my view you cut short the racist career of that <banned word filter activated>. Now he will know that if he makes a comment about a Sikh's Dastar he is likely to get a broken nose. You have probably stopped other Singhs from getting racist abuse from him. So well done and don't feel bad about it. The black woman who said that you should just ignore it, you should have said, ok then if someone calls you a n.igger do you just ignore it? Isn't racism a criminal offence? What if people like Martin Luther King had that attitude? I have come across people like that, they get into their positions by being discreet and non threatening to the white people and they get embarrassed if others don't have the same attitude as them and stand up for themselves.

  24. UK = See my answer to Waljinder Paji above. For the record I actually believe you to be sincere in your Sikhi. However, I believe your interpretation of Sikhi is seriously flawed. You want to see a smaller Panth going forward. I want to see a stronger Panth in the future with the emphasis on Gurmat and Shabad Guru rather than the paintings you GPS want Sikhs bowing before.

  26. UK = Singh559 Paji i have to agree with you if that's what he said. I haven't seen the video myself yet. But that is wrong. Rama (Chander) and Krishna did get drunk and that's well exposed even in their Mahabharata (though conveniently whitewashed on the small screen). UK = I agree with you Jonny Paji. That is just plain wrong to go running to non-religionists who have nothing to do with this matter. It's a shame because prior to that I actually thought he was sincere in his convictions. It would be wrong to subsequently assume that others who are still Amritdhari GurSikhs today want anything to do with the RSS given the destruction these wretched enemies of the Panth have unleashed on us in cahoots with Indira. Given that both sides (who are both sincere) have a common enemy in the RSS that makes it all the more puzzling as to why certain people are so keen to disunity even when facing the RSS (by declaring even those who have 100% loyalty to Sikhi as non-Sikhs and atheists).

UK = However, as Sikhs we owe loyalty only to Akaal Purakh and Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj so having a differing interpretation to respected Giani Sher Singh Ji on 1% of matters does not entitle others to define such people like myself as non-Sikhs. UK = However, i'm happy to discuss the issue if you will kindly join a petition to declare SikhSangat a neutral forum on the matter. Until such point that open debate can occur there is really no point discussing the topic further. However, allegations about me on a personal level feel free and I will gladly hit them for six :-) UK = I do believe that it is in the interests of the Panth for scholars (of which I am not - i am just a random Sikh on an internet forum) to thrash out this issue for the forward benefit of the Panth at Sri Akal Takht Sahib.

  32. Pro-Khalistan T-shirts seized Police registers case against Hondh-Chillar whistleblower Mohit Khanna/TNS Ludhiana, December 22, 2011 The city police seized 200 pro-Khalistan T-shirts from a manufacturing unit located in the Salem Tabri area here last evening. The incident has alerted the state police which had been expecting trouble from pro-Khalistan activists ahead of the assembly elections in the state. Senior police officials have said the intelligence wing has received inputs about pro-Khalistan activists getting active. The matter further snowballed into a controversy today when the police booked Manwinder Singh Gyaspura, the whistleblower who brought to fore Hondh-Chillar massacre that took place in Haryana, for inciting religious sentiments. Talking to The Tribune on the phone, Manwinder claimed that he had been implicated in the case. "The police has registered a false case against me. These T- shirts belong to one Dilbag Singh of Amritsar. I have nothing to do with these," he said, adding that a local leader, Baljeet Jassian, had been blackmailing him for the past few days. "Last night, Baljeet and his cronies along with a police officer raided the places where these T- shirts were being manufactured and seized the material. I came to know about the incident after I was booked for instigating religious sentiments," said Manwinder. Police sources said they were investigating the matter as the government had issued specific instruction to show "zero tolerance" towards any activity that vitiated the peaceful atmosphere in the state. The government has been cautioned by Central intelligence agencies about attempts by Khalistani ideologues to push in weapons to be used during the elections. The seizure of the T-shits has sent the police department in a tizzy. DCP Ashish Chaudhry said necessary action had been taken and law would take its course. The T-shirts, bearing Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale's picture with "Pakke Khalistani" written on these, were being manufactured in a factory unit. Baljeet Jassian has alleged that nearly 10,000 pro-Khalistan T-shirts had been sold by Manwinder. "I suspect a political conspiracy behind the issue. The motive is to upset peace in the state," said Jassian, who lodged a complaint against the manufacturing of these T- shirts. ==================================== We can see back in 2011 they started to seize T-shirts an anti-democratic anti-freedom ant-human rights move.... It is the right for every human being to seek self-determination. Now if a T-shirt expresses Khalistan or has a picture of Sant ji and other shaheeds that is up the individual to decide if he/she wants to wear it. It is no business of a democratic govt or authority to jump in and tell you what you can have on your t-shirt. These are signs of slavery of being under oppression of the police state.

  45. Fateh Fordcapri Ji, I personally do not see anything wrong with recitation of poetry so long as it conforms with Gurmat and is used sparingly in kathas/veechars. We have to remember Guru Gobind Singh Ji had 52 poets in his court, each with their own special quality but they all sang/wrote poems in accordance with Gurmat. It is just a way of showing one's love for Guru Sahib and His Amrit Bani. Look at the kirtan done by Sant Ranjit Singh Ji for instance, he sings praises of Guruji in his own unique style and with words that are not always from Gurbani but still gets everyone charged up with passion for the Bani of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj and inspires people to connect with Gurughars. However, I will also say that if it is recited to get applause from the sangat, or something of similar nature then it is totally wrong. Bhull Chukk Maaf

On the other hand, i did really love Dharam Singh Zakhmi's kirtan style where they complimented Gurbani with Bhai Gurdas's vars/kabitts, Bhai Nand Lal's various poems as well as poems by Bhai Sahib Bhai Vir Singh. Even the poems of Professor Puran Singh are very inspiring as well as beautiful poems, blessed Sikhs occasionally post on this site or other Sikh sites.

  48. I think you know the answer: The stage secretary is trying to promote himself as some kind of poet litterateur. Then, in the langar, the bhenji's will come up to him and say, "That was a great speech, bhaji!" There's a lot of poetry in the world, and not all of it matches up with the philosophy of Guru Granth Sahib. If people want to seem like they know a lot, don't quote Urdu poetry, quote Bhai Nand Lal Ji in Persian.
