  1. I actually found the people in New York to be more friendly than LA, it's a more cosmopolitan place and they are more aware of Sikhs/Indians. There were simply too many superficial wannabes in LA. I think most of the young people there are trying to get into the entertainment industry and either think they are hot sh1t or are p1ssed off that it hasn't happened they have to be waiters. Great weather and scenery though. I think Italian Americans are also known for being rude/racist, especially based on movies like Goodfellas and shows like the Sopranos. I found Italians in Rome to be rude as well. I would say people here in Britain are some of the most friendliest in the world.

  2. Much of the black migration towards California came post WW2. A lot of the migration came from the American South and it seems that now that the South has become more prosperous, a lot of black population are going back to the south. You see the same pattern to some degrees in the midwest and north east where blacks are moving back south.

  3. Well 2000 years of constant invasions can be partly blamed for that. The sikh kingdom was running just fine. Literacy rate was high. People were encouraged to learn various languages and subjects. Many sikhs were well versed in multiple languages. Maharaja ranjit singh developed good relations with foreign groups. You should read more about our kingdom and how things were done .There has been a systematic dumbing down of our people since our fall just like what is happening in the west now. Sikhi teaches you discipline. Most punjabis are undisciplined and love chaos. Now whose fault is this? You should understand that west had the time to industrialize and correct their errors whereas we gained independence(not really us sikhs but south asia in general) and then had to rapidly industrialize without much considerations post 1947 which is why you see all this chaos. The Indians wanted Industry but didnt think further than that which is why you see all the major rivers polluted and no care for environment. You think europe was always clean and never had chaos? Alot of people on this forum seem to suffer from self hate. Add onto this the caste system and the oppression suffered by a large group of people in the subcontinent for centuries being devoid of education , proper nutrition and what not. There are multiple factors as to why things are the way they are. The people in the subcontinent have a mentality of subjugation and slavery. They accept their bad conditions instead of revolting against the norm. This is also why they hate when Sikhs revolt against the state for our rights. For 1000 years they have been taught subjugation and think that is the right way. They accept the bad conditions instead of fighting against it.

  4. Yeah the vast majority of them were nice and struck up conversations with me. It's a cultural difference, the Anglo whites and Blacks have been in America the longest and both are quite similar in their outgoing nature and having 'American values'. That film was brutal, I wonder if things are still that bad there. I actually went to Compton while I was in LA, it was OK along their main high street but I felt a bit uneasy in the more residential area. Again, a random friendly black person spoke to me about the nice weather and I got quite a rude response from some Mexicans when I asked for directions. Even the ghettos in LA have palm trees everywhere lol.

  5. This reminds of this famous scene in Menace II Society Having visited America a couple of times, I would say the Hispanics are the most racist and rude. The blacks were the most friendly followed by the whites.

  6. This is quite long so I really appreciate you for spending your time reading. Maybe this is just me getting things off my chest but then again its probably a cry for help i dont even know. Grew up keshdari but never knew anything about Sikhi till like feb2016, up until that point it was just about drinking, drugs, girls etc, and in Jan2016 i cut my kesh for the first time. I liked it because for once i felt no restriction, like i could now live a life thaf id only seen my friends living. But then I found out about sikhi in Feb2016 a month after i cut my hair and it absolutely changed my view on life because i had an experience doin simran and found a new way to get high off the bliss of knowing that there was something greater than everything i ever knew. I learnt gurmukhi, found sangat, learnt the 5 bania, re-enrolled in uni after getting kicked out the year before, went on my last party( drinkin) holiday with my mates in June2016 and in Aug2016 I took amrit (maybe this was rushed but it felt right). For the next year or so I done sangat of some serious nitnemy gursikhs, we would do amritvela together, go to programmes and do loads of paath and I quite enjoyed it. I would do sangat of sants and mahapursh and it was a completely new experience to the life i used to live, but the main thing is that inside i became someone filled with love and now i look back i would say quite humble and soft spoken. After that year or so of good times everything seemed to crumble for me. I felt like people became judgemental towards me and looked at me weird, sangat that i used to hang around with would just seem really awkward and i still to this day dont know why it felt like that. I was going through a lot at home aswell as my parents separated and there was loads of arguments and fights. The chardikala that i used to feel seemed like it was becoming a distant reality but i still tried to go to programmes and do my nitnem. On re-entering uni I made new friends and slowly stopped hanging around with the gursikhs i used to however i still stayed in touch with a couple of them that i didnt feel were judgemental towards me. This period of my life everything seemed to just spiral out of control tho. I started smoking weed again since i thought nihangs do weed lol and then that continued to spiral into an addiction with drugs, watchin porn, drinking again. And this has pretty much been the state of my life for the last 3 to 4 years. I've still held my faith in God and I know that God is always with me. Ive had countless periods in these years where ive quit everything and started doing my 5 bania again, but then i'll relapse, and then i'll cut down the nitnem to keep it consistent but then i'll relapse again, then i'll try doing loads of simran instead but then i'll relapse again and its just become an endless cycle of me trying to latch onto sikhi but then again i cant stop falling back into maya. Everytime i stop the drugs and get into a good nitnem cycle, i tell myself this is the last time but its not. I contemplated suicide quite a few times but then i realise that its stupid and will probably land me in narak quicker than i already am gona get there lol. Now im at a point where ive got a first class degree and finishing my masters in january, i work a good job, have tons of other projects that im working on to make me money and i would say in terms of a worldly perspective ive got a lot going for me. Sadly however, im spirtually corrupt and im ashamed to even go to the gurdwara, i meet with some sikh friends here and there but they think im just like them but really im a fraud whos doing all the stuff they could never imagine me doing. Today was the first time in a while i contemplated suicide so i thought it would be best to share a post here. Dont know what ill get from it but i just need to say this stuff. I try do simran still but the amount of bad karma ive probably built up by now i dont know what it will do for me, and even if i did try set up a schedule to consistently do my nitnem again, im almost certain i'll relapse because that seems to be the running trend of my life. Thank you to anyone who does comment and share their views on what ive wrote.

  7. Where is the human attribute that is inherent in most people to help someone who is in distress? I cannot imagine this kind of thing happening among out people. The way that a lot of them rather than helping the girls actually joined in with the abuse shows that this kind of behaviour is inherent in all of them.

  8. I remember an amritdhari pal, who visited NY telling me how he had to re-tie his loose dastaar in a public toilet there and when he was doing it some African-American (who walked in) was like: "Wow man! That's awesome!" And then they struck up a conversation. That was pre 9/11 though.

  11. New Yorkers generally are quite a rude bunch. And that is New Yorkers of all ethnic groups. Californians I find a lot more relaxed and laid back (generalisation here) compared to New Yorkers. But your experience could because you were in the big cities. In the smaller cities and towns people tend to be friendlier. I myself had a bad experience at JFK airport, one with an African American and one with an Italian American.

  14. I went to both Los Angeles and New York. I found the Mexicans in LA and Puerto Ricans equally as rude. My wife has been to Miami and said the Cubans were similar. They just seem to have a really bad attitude. Even a Malaysian Indian I worked with who frequently flew to New York said you don't want a Hispanic guard at Immigration when you land, they will give you a hard time.

  15. What's strange is that I've met a few really black loathing people from the UK who do business in the US (around NY and Miami) and whatever experiences they have had seems to have changed them. Now they say they can't stand black people but African-Americans are okay. lol! Might watch that film again btw. Haven't seen it in many years.

  17. The Hispanics are a diverse group. In Florida (particularly South Florida), they are mainly Cuban. In New York, they are mainly Puerto Ricans, Dominicans and Columbians and this varies depending in which borough you are in. California and Texas, they are mainly Mexicans. When I speak to my East Coast relatives, in their opinion the Hispanics are not bad bunch, quite family orientated but when they live with blacks, they pick up a lot of their mannerisms. I think it depends where in the US you go to. When you mix with Americans and from different parts of the US, you come to realise the country is more like a continent. Even African Americans from different parts of the US are very different from each other.

  19. You are 100% correct on the above. However, the songs (promoted by non-Sikhs may I add as Jatts comprise 21% of the east Punjab population so it is unheard of in history for a single minority sub-community to be targetted by the Hindu and Muslim controlled Punjabi record industry with various alternating anti-Sikh messages of pathetic caste pride, alcohol, drugs, promiscuity, criminality) excuse that people are parroting nowadays is ridiculous in the extreme as the comparison of Pakistan, east Punjab and India besides east Punjab reveals that: *Pakistani Muslims openly boast that they did not let and still do not let "Chuhra's and Chamars" (as they call them) in their Mosques. *In Pakistan the vast majority of all such people converted to Christianity (and Sikhi) between 1849-1947. People like Martin Bashir and Bishop Michael Nazir-Ali are examples. *In East Punjab the overwhelming majority of our Gurdwareh have Mazhabi Sikh Granthi's and Giani's and statistically the level of caste discrimination is lower in Punjab than virtually all other Indian states due to the impact of Sikhi on just over half of the Punjab population. *Outside of east Punjab there is blatant discrimination and caste oppression of the kind that doesn't even exist in Punjab. *Yet in the last 75years any apostate from Islam in Pakistan like Bhai Mardana Ji is killed and since Nehru started to encourage tens of millions of sehajdhari Sikhs to record their childrens surnames as Ram, Kumar, Devi or Rani instead of Singh and Kaur the Sikh Panth has lost connection with over 100million sehajdhari Sikhs (primarily outside Punjab) and the aim of the enemies of the Sikh Panth is to convert all Sikhs of Ravidasi and Mazhabi ancestry into non-Sikh Christians or Dera worshippers as we see when Badal built the multi-millions Balmiki Dera in Amritsar. *Bhai Mardana Ji from the oppressed tribe so massively despised by Muslims so much so that the tribal name itself (Kanjar) became a pejorative had the bravery to leave Islam and become the first Sikh in history thereby putting a target for Death upon themselves from the Qazi's and Mullah's. Compare that to the generation of today who would sell out Sikhi for the fantasy of a Canadian tourist visa (which never arrives despite Jesus Christ's best efforts). The majority of the Pastors making money out of Christianity's growth in east Punjab are rich local Jatts that collaborated with Congress in the 1980's and Canadian Jatt pastors. The Radha Soami controllers's are Dhillon Jatts. Ram Rahim is a Sidhu Jatt. Canadian Jatts from BC who are also involved in the drug trade there are also the ones buying the land at strategic positions and who quite often own the Churches and many of the converts are Jatts. None of the Muslim Jatts in Pakistan and none of the Hindu Jatts are leaving their religions to become born again Christians. Sonam Bajwa is a millionaire convert to Christianity. The lie that it is only so-called oppressed castes converting to Christianity is only pimped by the Indian Media. The point that ProudKaur is making Dally Singh Ji is that the Muslims and Hindu's are far more oppressive than the minority of casteist Sikhs like the Congress supporting Jatts + Tarkhans (as statistics clearly show) yet neither the Muslims nor Hindu's are losing the large numbers to Christianity that we see in east Punjab (as a result of RAW's desire to ensure that Sikhs are a minority in Punjab by the 2031 census). Look at the heroes of the Sikh Panth and those who authored our Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj: *Dhan Dhan Baba Ravidas Ji Maharaj (every time we as Sikhs do matha tek we acknowledge we Sikhs are all lower than the caste identity that Muslims and Hindu's despise the most) Shaheed Bhai Sangat Singh Ji (derided by the Muslims and Hindu's for being a Chamar yet appointed head of the Sikh Fauj by Dhan Dhan Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj themself) Shaheed Bhai Jiwan Singh Ji (derided as a so-called "Bihari Chuhra" by our Muslim and Hindu opponents) Giani Ditt Singh Ji the intellectual brains behind why Lahore Singh Sabha was able to almost double the percentage number of Sikhs between 1881-1941 despite the Hindu's and Muslims hating him for being a GurSikh of erstwhile Chamar ancestry. The way the Christian Jatts are getting rich out of is the same way that the Dera Beas Radha Soami Dhillons and Ram Rahim Sidhu do by selling drugs and quack cures. The income the Christian Jatts who own and run a lot of the Churches is higher off a church building than a similar small plot of land would otherwise earn them. The big marketing tricks they use are healing people (as they say Gurbani cannot and only a white skinned and blue eyed Jesus can) and enticing people that they will get immigration for Canada if they convert to Christianity. 100% correct. A lot of the Christian Jatts probably reject our religion because most of our Gurdwareh are run by Singhs of Mazhabi ancestry for the last 150years since the Lahore Singh Sabha and Giani Ditt Singh's reforms which ended racist and pro-casteist British rule of our Gurdwara's bit by bit culminating 100 years ago. Most of the GurSikh youth left in Punjab are of Mazhabi ancestry. They are the one community keeping the torch of Sikhi alive in Punjab the most. You are absolutely correct. Also there is no concerted effort to grow Christianity in Pakistani Punjab or majority Hindu states adjoining Punjab. The effort is concentrated in in east Punjab primarily by Jatts and erstwhile Hindu Ad-Dharmi's. However, since 2011 when RAW told their Dera Ballan operatives to declare that they are not Sikhs, Christianity is growing faster among Jatts (because of the Canada marketing trick that Canadian Christian Jatts are employing). Mazhabi Sikhs are not leaving Sikhi to the same degree like other communities as Guru Sahib themselves said "Rangrete Guru Ke Bete". (The poorest and oppressed are the True Sons and Daughters of Guru Sahib). The casteists most closely aligned to working as operatives for RAW and Hindutva such as Christian Jatts and erstwhile Hindu Ad-Dharmi's along with the Christians from historically Muslim villages in east Punjab before 1947 are at the forefront. A lot of these Churches don't allow Mazhabi's inside in any case as the Mazhabi identity is synonymous with Sikhi. Yes what's ironic is that Sonam Bajwa is so deluded she actually probably believes that her being a Christian will get her a break in Hollywood! Any Jatt like General Bajwa from Pakistan or Sajjan Kumar type Hindu Jatts in India would rather die than become Christian but in east Punjab these Christian Jatts genuinely think we as Sikhs are going to Hell. Yes you are absolutely right and hit the nail on the head. Agreed anyone who is a casteist or spreads disunity among Sikhs cannot be Sikh full stop. For once I actually agree with you Then why are most Punjabi's Muslims then? 90% of Punjabi's in the main despise Sikhi and Sikhi's main future potential is outside of Punjab. Agreed What fairer treatment elsewhere? Christianity condones Slavery. Brahmin Christians had separate Churches to other castes in India from the get go centuries ago (not just after Rajiv Gandhi became PM as was deliberately created by Zail Sin and Congress-Gandhi family in Punjab after 1984). Muslims did not allow (as they call them) "Chuhre and Chamar" to enter Mosques. Islam condones Slavery and their Prophet Muhammad owned, trade and sold black slaves. What fairer treatment do Christian Jatts, Radha Soami Jatts and Ram Rahim Sidhu want? Maybe the fact these people are out to destroy Sikhi stems from the fact that Sikhi is the ONLY true religion for the oppressed and downtrodden of the world. A minority of casteists do not define Sikhi - Dhan Dhan Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj define what Sikhi is all about. Our Panj Piare define what Sikhi is about. Dally the overwhelming majority of Pakistani Punjabi Muslims are Jatt (Jutt), Brahmin (Butt), Khatri (Sheikh), Saini (Arain), Rajput, Pathan, Awan (Rajput sept), Syeds, Baloch, Qureshi etc so-called "high castes" who marry their cousins to keep their caste purity. Muslims statistically have the highest percentage of higher castes. Punjabi Muslims banned who they term as "Chamar and Chuhre" from entering Mosques such that in west Punjab all of the aforementioned backgrounds converted to Christianity and Sikhi en masse. In contrast Sikhi and Buddhism have the highest percentages of supposedly "low caste" adherents and we are proud of that and our Panj Piare. 40% of our Panth is of Mazhabi and Ravidasi Sikh background which matches the percentage ancestry of Jatts (40%) among Sikhs nowadays. Furthermore, our Religion is the only religion where the overwhelming majority of the custodians of our Gurdwara's are from the same community that Muslims and Hindu's decry as the lowest of the low yet every Sikh is proud that Guru Sahib taught us "Rangrete Guru ke Bete" (the Oppressed Worldwide are the Guru's true sons). A minority of Congress-supporting casteist Tarkhans started off the cancer of apartheid Gurdwara franchises by excluding Jatts and Chamars and Bhatra's and all others from apartheid Ramgarhia committee's on Zail Sin's say-so at Sanjay Gandhi's behest. Because that is not the fight in 2022. The fight in 2022 is about ending Sikhi in east Punjab via apartheid. We have to fight this cancer in Punjab and the West by having only one united Gurdwara in every Pind in Punjab (and locality in the West). People like the Radha Soami Dhillon's, Majithia of Badal Dal, Ram Rahim Sidhu and Sonam Bajwa have all left Sikhi for financial gain. These multi-millionaires are not oppressed slaves as the Godi media would no doubt claim. 100% agree with you ProudKaur you are 100% correct on this point. People get triggered when anybody tries to prevent the inclusivity of the Sikh Panth and derail the future growth of Sikhi by restricting it to only 10% of Punjabi's actually born into the community. Are you aware that Bhai Mokham Singh of the Panj Piare were Gujarati? Are you aware that lots of Gujarati women are coming to Sikhi in the Diaspora while millionaire Punjabi Jatts that despise Sikhi run towards Churches (aka business franchises) in east Punjab?

  26. 1. You are advocating Ethnic Cleansing which is the opposite of Gurmat. Sikhs were a minority in every district of Punjab in 1947 and constituted 14% of the Punjab population at the time. 2. That is exactly what Hindutva thinkers who hate Sikhi want you to say. They realise that if they put out enough hateful rhetoric on Twitter then some of our people will take the bait. The small minority of Hindu's who are Twittersphere haters against Sikhs realise that if they can provoke people into making the type of comments you have made then they can ensure that ONE BILLION poor Indians who are falsely defined as "Hindu's" can be prevented from learning about Sikhi and becoming sehajdhari Sikhs overnight and Sikhs comprising the majority of the Indian population in a country where the economy will have a size of around $42 TRILLION by around 2050. That's why need to stop giving oxygen to Twittersphere haters against Sikhs but work on encouraging converts as that will yield the Sikh Panth more dividends. 1.1 BILLION people cannot be generalised like this when a billion of them are poor and struggling in life and have never held a bad thought about Sikhs in their life. But we are ignoring parchaar to them despite our Panj Piare coming from as far afield Karnataka in south India and Gujarat in west India and Orissa in east India etc. There are paid goons in all Indian communities. KPS Gill, General Brar and the Punjab Police of the 1980's exemplify this too. But the 250 million people defined as so-called Dalits are natural born Sikhs if we only explain to them that East Punjab is the only state where: *the recent Chief Minister (Channi) was from a so-called "Dalit" background *the Chief Jathedar of the SGPC is from a so-called "Dalit" background *the majority of Granthi's & Gursewaks at Gurdwara's are from a so-called "Dalit" background *the number of so-called "Dalit" MLA's have consistently exceeded the number of Jat MLA's since 1980 *the majority of Kesdhari youth left in Punjab are from a so-called "Dalit" background *so-called "Dalits" comprise 33% of the east Punjab population in contrast to Jats who are 21% of the population *Singh Sabha was driven forward by Giani Ditt Singh Ji who was decried by Muslims and Hindu's for being a Chamar And given the majority of the Panj Piare were from a so-called "Dalit" background ... Shaheed Bhai Sangat Singh Ji was appointed the leader of the Sikh Fauj by Dhan Dhan Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj despite the Muslims scoffing that according to the Mughals we Sikhs were led by just a "Chamar" in their eyes. Shaheed Bhai Jiwan Singh Ji as we all know were among the bravest of the brave despite the Muslims hunting for them as a "Bihari Churha" (in Muslim eyes) whilst Guru Sahib proclaimed "Rangrete Guru Ke Bete" (Dalits are Guru Sahib's own beloved sons). We as Diaspora Sikhs need to up our game and stop being so weak in doing sewa and parchaar about Sikhi to 250 million so-called "Dalits" We could make a start towards this by ensuring only one united Gurdwara for all in every pind in Punjab and every locality in the West.

  27. I don't think any kaaleh have ever said that not a single kaala in the World can ever be racist. The blatant racism of the Nation of Islam being a pretty obvious example. I think the argument is more along the lines of if WASPS control in excess of a thousand times more wealth than African Americans (despite relatively matching populations) then the impact of the minority of black racism upon others cannot be as pronounced as when one holds power. Ie Muslims can also be racist in America but their impact upon non-Muslims in America will not be as pronounced as their racism and how they can impact their black slaves in a country like Mauritania (where Muslims hold all of the power structures in their hands). Sowell correctly observes that gangster rap, drill music, contemorary Punjabi music are a cancer which are planting insidious messaging into the folks that listen to them. But when we know that the powers that be in Washington, London and Delhi all benefit from those said music forms and promote them to serve their interests then that aspect is crucial not to ignore. Sowell talks about Scottish ancestry "redneck culture" holding back African Americans. But the well known reality is that Scottish ancestry Presidents are *the* most over-represented ethnic background of all American Presidents in per capita demographic terms. And the same applies for Scottish ancestry among Canada, Australia and New Zealand Prime Ministers. In contrast African Americans are the most under-represented community among Senators despite their 50million population. Ie Sowell cannot say that Jatts are held back on account of their tribal ancestry in Pakistan when they are so heavily over-represented in controlling all the levers of power there - Bajwa (Army Chief), Sidhu (Pakistan Air Force Chief), Chaudhary (Niazi's spokesman), Gill (Niazi's special adviser), Pinki Pirni (Niazi's wife) etc, etc. So if Sowell was to say that the same tribe of people in eastern Punjab are supposedly being held back in India on account of their tribe's culture in Pakistan it would have zero validity as we can see how successful they are on the Pakistani side of the border where the majority of Jatts live. So that type of simplistic analysis simply doesn't cut it or hold water.
    1 point
  28. You know what's shocking Dally is the comparison between two sides of the border and the two opposing mentalities. On one hand General Qamar Jatt Bajwa has been ruling Pakistan since 2016. Obviously Taliban Khan Niazi was the selected sock-puppet civilian face Prime Minister below Bajwa's boots for three and half years recently. But the bottom line is Bajwa has his hands on the nuclear button which could destroy Amritsar and Delhi in a second. His dream is of 13,000 fully functioning Mosques in east Punjab to create a 13million strong "fifth column" in east Punjab. General Bajwa has been the brains behind all the tourism ideas to milk and exploit naive Sikhs for hard currency profits which the Pakistani Army can use to further terrorism and send drugs to East Punjab (whilst simultaneously ensuring that naive Sikhs don't spend those funds wasted in Pakistan upon uplifting our poorer brothers and sisters in east Punjab). On the other hand the most famous Bajwa and the most famous and well paid actress on the eastern side of the border is this wretched Miss Bajwa who was born to rich Sikh parents but now aggressively uses her platform for RAW and American bible bashers to promote Christianity so that east Punjab is destroyed from within. So that Christians and Muslims can push Sikhs to being a minority in east Punjab by the 2031 census. And yet despite all this our people still shamelessly patronise her pathetic films.

  29. Nobody is putting down the Sikh Qaum. It's about ensuring that the Sikh Panth is welcoming to everyone and ensuring that we are part of the solution (rather than part of the problem) when it comes to dismantling oppression against African Americans by systemic white supremacy racism in place since the start of Slavery. So Gurjant Singh as a Sikh opposes domestic violence. Gurjant Singh as an Irish American is NOT racist against white folks. But he does call out racism by a minority of white troublemakers. Gurjant Singh could care less about articficial labels imposed on united Sikhs by the racist British Empire but yes he does denounce caste apartheid and the depraved practice of caste-based apartheid Golak's and yes like most normal Sikhs Gurjant Singh proudly advocates for only one united Gurdwara per pind in Punjab (or locality in the west). Criticising you for your derogratory posts against kaaleh does not mean he was negative about Sikhs - it means he was negative about the content of some of your posts. Gurjant Singh condemns incidences of racism regardless of who might perpetrate them. Do you live in the real world and interact with real people? Or is interacting with Twittersphere trolls the limit of your intercation with a 50million strong community? Twitter = Troll City central. If there are a minority of rabid Hindutva touts online hating on Sikhs should we abandon all Parchaar to one billion poor so-called Hindu's because the hatemongers wish to see Sikhi limited to as few people as possible? What will you achieve by giving oxygen to Twittersphere trolls? Why not focus on how you can encourage on the silent majority of African Americans who are not racist but still suffer unfair racist discrimination. Would say all of the things you are posting online to Rihanna's face or on her Twitter handle?

  30. On Vasakhi 1699 after the first two Khalsay had stood up ... Guru Gobind Singh Ji (the sixth Khalsa) gave three more calls. Mohkam Chand, a Gujarati calico printer/tailor from DwarkaNagar, Himmat Rai, a water-bearer from Jagannath Puri in Orissa, and Sahib Shah, a barber from Bidar (south India), stood up one after another and advanced to offer their heads. ... a minority of the wider Punjabi community is Sikh ... most Punjabi's are Muslims and there are more Hindi speaking "Punjabi's" in the historic parts of pre-1966 Punjab. So we as Sikhs need to fight back against this nonsense portraying Sikhs as the equivalent of Punjabi's as they seek to limit the truth to a small part of Punjab only. Even the Muslim Jatts that killed 300,000 Sikhs in 1947 and the Hindu Jatts like Sajjan Kumar laugh at the ridiculousness of some Sikhs associating an ancestry with their name as a mark of pride given the fact that even the vast majority of Jatts are Muslim and Hindu ... So again we as Sikhs need to fight against our Panth being associated with any particular ancestry backgrounds (because that's exactly what our enemies want) So let's be clear anybody in 2012 who proclaims their ancestry background from the rooftops is not a Sikh and Punjabiyat has no relavance to Sikhi. Anybody into Bhangra please tell your favourite artists that you will not buy their records if they continue to promote alcohol + caste on behalf of a Muslim record label like Moviebox. Sikhi is falsely portrayed by the Panth's enemies and for the record let me state that i think a billion or so Hindu's are generally good people (the 800 million or so Hindu's who live in poverty I consider as Sikh in my eyes anyway ... before someone misinterprets my stab at the Panth's enemies)

  31. Doesn't take a genius to figure there's a concerted effort on this forum to equate "Jattism" within Sikhi with the equivalent "Whiteness" in the Anglosphere; therefore two groups who are solely responsible for the evils of their respective demographics, and therefore two groups to be eliminated according to this beautifully tolerant and welcoming philosophy. I've been radicalised by this forum in ways you wouldn't believe! ?

I have mentioned it before either here or on SA, but I think massive awareness needs to be targeted towards the ‘freshies’ and their children who have only come to the UK in recent years. They might have had limited experience /exposure to the stories/news on grooming and who might be more likely to consider other communities as ‘bhain’/‘bhra’ than we would . No idea how our British Afghan Sikhs brothers/sisters see this because they have been persecuted in Afghanistan but apparently some work closely with/employ non-Sikh Afghans to work for them. The ‘awareness’ campaigns seem quieter now (at least SAS seem to be quieter now). Anyone know how much work the likes of them and SYUK do at Universities snd Colleges ? I Imagine they are limited by political correctness and blacklisting

  33. Liberals the world over like to parrot on about rights and responsibilities but they are the worse of hypocrites. These people who own weapons have taken on a personal responsibility to protect their families and those around them. When you want to subdue a people then the first act is to deprive them of the ability to fight back effectively. The British at the annexation of Punjab ordered all the people to give up all their weapons. This liberal woman knows that a population which is armed will never allow themselves to the subdued. The power of the oppressive state lies in its ability to unleash lethal force at any time on the people, if they people also have the ability to respond with lethal force, then the power of the oppressive state is diminished.

  34. I think they should tie dastars. but if they do they shouldn't be making it like a fashion. ive seen so many women wear dastarrs as fashion and they have waxed arms n wear like sooooo much makeup. I think they should only tie dastar is they dont wear makeup and follow full maryada

  36. Well, my family antecedents according to family tradition is Rajasthani, but the original immigrant to Panjab in my lineage must have been a good few centuries ago because my grandpa reeled out his ancestors going back over two centuries (if not more) who've been in the ancestral pend. If anyone has a problem with chaste minds in Panjab, it'll be the stock you come from. Read CP and see for yourself what Guru ji has written about them. And you're old enough to know that the menfolk made such a rep for themselves that people would explicitly tell their daughters not to cut through the khet because.......bwaaaaah!! haa! haa! haaa! "Bechow! Menu Bechow!" Mwaaaah. Hahaha. Bwaaaahhhh.

  37. You keep going on about Panjabis, but if we look at SIkh history, there was a point pre1699, when Sikhs were coming from all over to join the Khalsa battles. The panj piaray are examples of this, as are sakhis relating to Sikhs from what is now Afghanistan coming too. Really, there is no such thing as some ethnic Panjabi genotype. As much as certain caste obsessed people like to go on as well, there is nothing remotely close to any sort of racial homogeneity in between Sikhs of Panjab.

  42. bro my experience is that community teachs their children to hate others and to avoid making friendships the only exceptions are those who actually think of themselves as punjabi first so there is bhaichara of a type there . All my kids have had this experience with my youngest openly discriminated and attacked by classmates because she is not their faith

  43. It happens and on a scale much larger than I thought. At our local Gurdwara, there was a talk from Bhai Mohan Singh who has been doing seva for those who have been groomed. Check out sikh awareness society website.

  45. If Punjabis are so bad, it doesnt stop those of us in the West, thousands of miles away, from doing something else. Unfortunately even if Punjab disappeared into a blackhole our problems here in the West would still exist along with our impotence and apathy. But I guess it's fun to act like one of the big religions and blame others.

  46. Yeah its important to realize this and recognize Sikh does not equal Punjabi. Guru Gobind Singh ji was born in Bihar and died in Maharashtra, and a lot of his writing were in Braj Bhasha, not Punjabi. Punjabi culture does not equal Sikh way of life
