I'm trying to find some authentic information regarding the original kirpan. Along with other artifacts, the Kirpan allegedly belonging the Guru (handed over by Nabha royal family after court battle), has recently (2015) been on display in Anandpur Sahib and on specially organised tour. The kirpan is short and there are longer swords and other artefacts- see this link. The Kirpan itself has a sharp straight edge. It is not curved (photo below, top left). The sheaths on all artifacts are made of leather perhaps with some wood on the larger ones and are straight in shape (no end hook). Given the design of the leather sheath, the manner in which it would be held by a ga…

Here is my list of current problems we face as a kaum. Traveling around giving aid / langar to non-sikhs. This thought was put into Sikh psyche as a strategy to destroy Sikhs from within by the enemy who wanted to move Sikhs away from position of strength to weakness. Guru ka langar never went around the world helping non-sikhs like this. Guru Ka langar was based on giving langar to the local sangat community. However was the non-sikh poor masses who came to the Sikhs and gurdwara's to get langar and get parchar to convert to Sikhi that made non-sikhs want to be a Sikh. This current innovation which has been created and run by idiots and is wasting sangats money gi…

Bani mentioned these 3 and we know they are avatars and one is a creator, one is a sustainer and one is a destroyer. Bani mentions that these 3 being around multiple times and there being multiple Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma and it seems that the universe comes into creation, sustained for a bit and then dissolves. The vedic scriptures obviously discusses them in great detail. And Hindus worship them like god, though now that I understand the Vedas a tiny bit better, I think I understand why our Gurus reject the Vedas but they do acknowledge the Vedas. Are these 3 entities or are they just universal phenomenon that the ancient Vedic Hindus gave names to so t…

Kartar Singh Sarabha, a Ghadr revolutionary, was born in 1886 in the village of Sarabha, in Ludhiana district of the Punjab in the house of Mangal Singh, a well-to-do farmer. After receiving his primary education in his own village, Kartar Singh entered the Malwa Khalsa High school at Ludhiana for his matriculation. He was in tenth grade when he went to live with his uncle in Orissa where, after finishing high school, he joined college. In 1912, when he was barely 16 years old, he sailed for San Francisco (U.S.A), and joined the University of California at Berkeley, enrolling for a degree in chemistry. His association with Nalanda club of Indian students at Berkeley ar…

I noticed a growing number of 3rd/4th generation kids who grew up going to Ravidasia Gurdwaras and Sangat converting on mass. All my peers that I went to school with wouldn't call themselves Sikhs, but then were ridiculed even by Goray for not knowing what religion if anything they were... Some called themselves Hindu but a sister from the same family would be Sikh. This confusion I feel has been exploited by Muslims, Christians etc who have targeted people who practice something that has no real structure, interpretations or offical name? It's literally different from each Bhawan to Gurdwara to Centre/Temple. I'd rather these people stay somewhat connected to S…

WARNING: IF YOU ARE GOING TO COMMENT ON MY POSTS, PLEASE BE MATURE AND ONLY USE FACTS, NO DRAMA PLEASE Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh! Sikhs often love to claim that their "holy book" (Ignore the Abrehamic context) was written and sealed by its founders, and Sikhs still use the same version to this day. However, there have been numerous controversies over the validity of certain passages (you all know what im talking about). Since the original Saroop of the Guru that was written by Bhai Mani Singh Ji and overlooked by Guru Gobind Singh Ji at damdama sahib in 1708 has been lost, and numerious others were destroyed as recently as in 1984…

Seems unlikely that Hindus/Indians would start provoking Pakistanis/Muslims if India just lost to Pakistan in the cricket match.
