  1. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Sangatji please take the time to post stories/katha about jaaping Sri Mool Mantar Sahib Ji so that we can gain inspiration to accomplish the One Million Jaaps. Ill begin. *Veer Pjs please can you make this a sticky and post some translated katha on Sri Mool Mantar Sahib Ji* The Making Of A Brahmgyani Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh In Guru Jis darbar Bhai Surinder Singh Ji (a kirtani from Baba Bakala who was well known at one time (before the advent of tape recorders in Punjab)) narrated the following story to the sangat when he was asked about the importance of naam japna. One time Bhai Sahib and his Jatha were travelling around Uttar Pradesh and had reached Lucknow the states capital. On the Prakash Diwas Gurpurab of Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj the Gurudwaras committee had arranged a one week kirtan programme and had requested that Bhai Sahib and his Jatha partake in this mahaan seva. In this way Bhai Sahib and his Jatha sang the praises of Akaal Purakh for one week at the Gurudwara Sahib in Lucknow. After the ardas on the final day of the programme Bhai Sahib was approached by an elderly hindu lady called Mata Dhian Dev who had accompanied a Sikh family to the programme. Mata Ji told Bhai Sahib that she had never heard such beautiful bhajans before and that she had been deeply moved by the love and peace of the house of Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj. With tears in her eyes she requested Bhai Sahib and the sangat to come and hold a kirtan programme at her house. Although Bhai Sahib and his jatha were meant to leave for Punjab later that night Bhai Sahib being a beloved of Dhan Guru Granth Sahib Ji acceded to her request immediately and said that they would come to her house. The next day Bhai Sahib and the Sangat from the Gurudwara Sahib arrived at Matajis house. Mataji with the help of her relatives had cleared all the furniture from her house and had put white sheets everywhere in preparation for their arrival. For six hours Bhai Sahib and the Sangat sang the praises of Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj. At the end of the kirtan as Bhai Sahib was about to leave Mata Dhian Dev quickly got up, took hold of his hand and said, Gyaniji please give me a mantar from this path of Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj. Bhai Sahib smiled and told Mata Dhian Dev that he could not give her such a mantar as only the Panj Pyarai could do that. Mata Dhain Dev listened to this and then said, You have sung so many bhajans here and at the Gurudwara Sahib please give me any mantar from one of these bhajans. Bhai Sahib once again explained that the mantar Mata Dhian Dev was seeking could only be obtained from the Panj Pyarai. He then began to explain in detail the life of a Gursikh and the Amrit Sanchar but Mataji kept asking him to provide her with a mantar. Finally Bhai Sahib told her to repeat Guru Sahibs mool mantar from Ikonkaar to Nanak Hosi Bhi Sach as many times as she could. Mataji got up and went to her room and came back holding a mala in her hand. While showing Bhai Sahib her mala she told him that every day she uses it to repeat the name of Shiva and asked if she could use this mala to repeat the mantar he had given her. Bhai Sahib smiled and said yes. Mataji then asked Bhai Sahib how many times she should repeat the mantar. Bhai Sahib said that she should repeat the mool mantar as many times as she could. A few years after this Bhai Sahib and his jatha visited Lucknow once again to peform kirtan seva. After the programme Bhai Sahib saw the same secretary who was there the last time they had visited the Gurudwara Sahib. Bhai Sahib talked to the secretary for a while and then asked him about the wellbeing of Mataji. When Bhai Sahib did this the secretary didnt say anything for some time. After a while Bhai Sahib asked if she had passed away. The secretary looked at Bhai Surinder Singh Ji and said, No Gyaniji, Mataji has not passed away but has become a Brahmgyani. Bhai Sahib was taken aback by this and decided to go and visit Matajis house. When he reached her house the front door opened and he was greeted by a beautiful Khalsa decorated in Guru Jis dastar and bana who with folded hands loudly uttered, Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh. The beautiful khalsa adorned with Gurujis pure dastar, bana and shahstars was none other than Mata Dhian Dev who had now become Mata Dhian Kaur a beloved daughter of Dhan Dhan Dhan Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj. Bhai Surrinder Singh Ji eyes began to well up in tears. He was soon caught in Mata Dhian Kaur Jis loving embrace. After taking a few moments to compose himself Bhai Surrinder Singh Ji immediately sat Mataji down who with both hands did a benti for Bhai Sahib to do Kirtan. Bhai Surrinder Singh Ji smiled and said that of course he would do Kirtan but before that he wanted to hear how a few years ago he had left a Hindu mother only to find a beautiful Khalsa mother in her place. Mataji nodded her head and then began to speak, Do you remember all those years ago when I asked you to give me a mantar of Satguru Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj? You immediately told me to go and see the Panj Pyarai to be blessed with Naam. I quickly dismissed this and after much insistence you agreed to write out the Sri Mool Mantar Sahib of Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj for me. The day you left I sat down and began to recite Sri Mool Mantar Sahib from Ikonkaar to Nanak Hosi Bhi Sach using my mala. I used to sit down everyday like this and became lost in this practise. Eventually minutes became hours and hours became days. I used to take my mala everywhere with me. Slowly even my mala disappeared until the only thing I could hear, see, feel or think about was Gurujis Sri Mool Mantar Sahib. Wherever I looked I began to see Satguru Sri Guru Nanak Dev Jis Sri Mool Mantar Sahib. It was everywhere and within everything from the floor to the walls, trees, birds, skies and beyond. One day while reciting Sri Mool Mantar Sahib I felt my conscious pulled inwards and was met by four people whose faces were covered. They were dressed in dark clothes and were carrying a throne that was held in place with two long sticks. They told me to climb on to the throne and said that they would carry me to wherever I wanted to go. I quickly got onto that throne. They took me to many places each which was more beautiful than the next and asked me if I liked any of them. I was told not only to look at each place but also to get of the throne and wander around those places. After wandering around for a while I would come back to them and say is there nothing else? Is there no land where only Gurujis Sri Mool Manatar Sahib resounds? Eventually I was taken to a place that I cannot describe. Outside of this place resided all the devis, devtas and other beings. They were all waiting outside hoping to gain entry to this place. Some were sweeping others were performing other types of seva… I dont know what happened then but the next thing I knew I was inside this very place. I found myself sat in satsang surrounding by men and women with moon-like faces that were dressed in blue and kesri and decked with sarabloh weapons. In front of all these people sat the most beautiful person I have ever seen. The only way I can describe his beauty is that he was the Sri Mool Mantar Sahib itself After sitting here for a while I was approached by a tall person who had a long flowing beard, was dressed in blue and carried a long stick. This person asked me what are you doing here? I looked at him and said what do you mean? I have recited the Sri Mool Mantar Sahib of Satguru Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj I have every right to be here. I dont know what happened next but I found myself in front of Sri Mool Mantar Sahib Ji himself who said that I had to leave this place. I began to cry and eventually Sri Mool Mantar Sahib Ji told me that he would give me another chance and that I would have a certain time to ensure that I secure my place in his court. I dropped towards the floor and placed my head at his charankamal. When I raised my head I found that my face was covered with a white sheet and that people around me were uttering, Ram Nam Satya Hai (the name of Rama is True). I immediately got up and began to tell people around me that I wasnt dead but very much alive. They were all in shock. I immediately ran towards the Gurudwara Sahib and asked the Granthi Singh over there to arrange an Amrit Sanchar for me. He told me that in due course one would be arranged but when I narrated my story to him with Guru Sahibs blessings the Amrit Sanchar was arranged for that day itself. Only Guru Sahib and Mata Dhian Kaur knew how much time that he had given her. However how much it was she left this earthly vessel while reciting Sri Mool Mantar Sahib in the house of Satguru Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj. Dhan Dhan Dhan Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj Dhan Dhan Dhan Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj Dhan Dhan Dhan Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj Dhan Dhan Dhan Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj Dhan Dhan Dhan Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj In the words of Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale Nashe chado. Amrit chako. Singh sajo Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh   How An Abused Muslim Boy Became The President Of Pakistan Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh One time Sardar Meherban Singh Ji went to see Muhammad Ayub Khan (the president of Pakistan) at his house. After talking for a while Bhai Sahib noticed a plaque on the wall in which he saw Sri Mool Mantar Sahib Ji written in Gurmukhi and Urdu. Bhai Sahib looked at Ayub Khan and said, Why have you got the Sri Mool Mantar Sahib Ji of Guru Nanak Dev Ji on your wall? Ayub Khan smiled and said, Sardarji this Kalaam of Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj has made me what I am today. ik oa(n)kaar sath naam karathaa purakh nirabho niravair akaal moorath ajoonee saibha(n) gur prasaadh || One Universal Creator God. One day I had had enough and after being beaten very badly decided to run away from the Madrasa. I ran as far as I could. I finally stopped (at the only place in this world that is open to every single creature) the house of Dhan Dhan Dhan Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj. I sat outside on the steps of the Gurudwara Sahib and began to sob. As I was doing this I felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked up and saw the beautiful face of a Naam Abiyhaasi Gursikh. The Gursikh looked at me and said, Yuba why are you crying today? I wiped the tears from my face and said, Babaji I cant take this anymore! Everyday I go to the Madrasa just to be beaten by the Mulla. My heart, mind and body is broken. I dont know what to do! The Gursikh smiled at me and said, Yuba I will give you the Mool Mantar of Satguru Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj. Whenever you have any difficulties in life repeat this Mool Manatar of Guruji. I looked at the Gursikh as he wrote the Mool Manatar in urdu and proceeded to teach it to me. After repeating the Mool Mantar together for a few minutes the Gursikh told me to go back to the Madrasa. With hope in my heart I went back to the Madrasa. As I was doing this I realised that I was late and that the Mulla would be very annoyed but I still repeated this kalaam of Guru Nanak Dev Ji. When the Mulla saw me he looked at me and said, Oh, so youve come. Quickly sit down we have a lot to get through. I was so surprised that he didnt tell me to stand in one spot, or grab me by my ears, slap me or use the long stick he used to keep to beat me with! This was the first time in my life that I had not been beaten by the Mulla. From this moment I realised the power of this kalaam of Guru Nanak Dev Ji and quickly committed it to memory. Anytime I had any difficulties in life I repeat it. In this way I came to be the President of Pakistan. Having felt its power I tell my children to keep hold of this kalaam. Akho Satnaaam Sri Waheguru. This story is recorded in Ayub Khans autobiography. The Gursikh who narrated this story to the sangat says that he has this story pasted on his wall so that everyday when he wakes up and looks at it it gives him a slap across his face. While writing this I feel that same slap. May Guru Sahib bless us with the ability to repeat his Sri Mool Mantar Sahib. ik oa(n)kaar sath naam karathaa purakh nirabho niravair akaal moorath ajoonee saibha(n) gur prasaadh || One Universal Creator God. 2. http://sikhunitnews.blogspot.com/2011/09/exclusive-my-experiences-with-sikh-unit.html EXCLUSIVE: My experiences with the Sikh unit lads and girls by preeti kaur <DIV id=post-body-521893816225637133 class="post-body entry-content"> Hi peeps i am a 29 year old woman who was raised in east London, i went to school wid killa and was in his class in primary but then we split up into different classes when we went secondary school. I knew killa b4 he got into gangs, drugs and the Sikh unit ting. I just want to write up things cos i seen the journey from the start and how Sikh unit was built from nothing in the hoods of east London to something that is spreading worldwide. I’m still in shock how big it has become, never would have thought that. I help out with the singhrow fb and am surprised at how many youth actually have said they have started reading gurbani and getting into religion after listen to Sikh unit tunes. My write up can never paint the whole picture as there are a lot of things that can’t be discussed for obvious reasons. But i want the fans of Sikh unit to have a glance into how all this <banned word filter activated> began and how from drug dealers the lads went to serve and protect and unite local Sikhs, it was an amazing journey, one which I am proud to be a part of.<P style="TEXT-ALIGN: center" class=MsoNormal><B><SPAN lang=EN-GB>Killa primary school dayz

  3. Gurmukh Singh from London who is not a great fan of any sikh media channel or even sikh jathebandia has already stated the following, and this is from soemone who had a senior position in the civil service in the UK. .......No matter what my personal views, I shall be outside the Parliament with my better half on 25 September. I recall a senior (then shadow but now serving) minister advising a Sikh delegation, "Can you bring out 5,000 or 6,000 Sikhs to show that you have backing ?" NO Sikh issue was settled without a demonstration in the UK. The Sikh tv channel opposing peaceful demonstrations to create dastaar/Kakkaars and Sikh identity AWARENESS with the intention of educating the public and the media, and to show Sikh lobby strength in a democracy, is wrong. In a democracy, politicians expect demonstrations - a form of lobbying - to be able to make amendments to unfair legislation, rules and regulations. Gurmukh Singh UK...... So stop using the lame excuse that Parliament is closed and its useless. Make all the excuses you want, if you are not prepared to stand up and be counted then you will have to live with that regret. We have a distinct khalsa identity, we have raised our voices for other religions. If we are now making excuses and not willing to stand up for our own rights then dont blame any one else. As Gurmukh Singh has pointed out demonstrations are a form of lobbying that is used in a democracy. Sikh jathebandia should come forward instead of having this attitude that soemone has to invite them and then they will think about what they want to do and then each jathebandi will want to be the centre stage. Why cant we for once present a united front. Is that too much to ask from Sangat TV and its supporters ????

  4. The parliament might be closed on Sunday, but media attracts attention 24/7, it might not be to the liking of jathebandia of sikhi, but the majority of Sikhs are not in jathebandia, we don't need permission of jathebandia to take the panth forward, as the jathbandia don't ask our permission to do what they want. Why are jathebandia doing meetings in the background and then informing sangat at the last minute, it's been months since sikh channel have organising this event, then they take this opportunity 2 weeks before to cause confusion and disruption.

  6. Maybe the Guru wants to see how we react. Maybe God is testing us to see if we are worthy enough of taking the positions of protecting the Guru. Remember, not only our Guru, but the Guru for all mankind. God is getting angry that Sikhs are not getting into more of an uproar about this. Maybe this is the reason why some people say that Gurbani is going to become Gupt or hard to come by in the future. Absolutely terrible state of affairs.

  7. Its about time a Sikh Mossad was formed for Gods sake. Satanists are attacking Gods very own word, this cannot be tolerated. What hope is there for humanity if we allow humans to get away with this most extreme sacrilege.

  8. Jassa, HSD has already given you half a dozen weapons that were used in the Anglo-Sikhs wars which weren't around at the time of Guru Hargobind. HSD's analysis make a lot of sense and no doubt based on research on the subject whereas with respect to you, your comments speak more of obstinate belief in the superiority of your so-called Dal Panth. Also if you think Santa Singh is a 'panth rattan' then I think we have every right to ask that Lal Singh and Tej Singh also be referred to as 'panth rattans' The modernisation of the army by Maharaja Ranjit Singh was the most important decision that he made, it ensured that the British did not attempt to annex his kingdom during the time that he was alive. Even after the army had become degraded due to the machinations in the court after the death of the Maharaja, the common company sepoy still feared the Khalsa army and was apprehensive of any coming contest. Post 1839 the British lowered their estimation of the abilities of the Khalsa soldier yet after a few years the Khalsa army gave the British the shock of their lives! Do you really believe that an army of similar numbers of Akalis as the Khalsa army would have been able to make a dent on the British army? The strategy of Dhai-phat would never have worked with the British. Their tactics and technology would have overwhelmed the Akalis. After the annexation there were still thousands of Akalis around, then why didn't they launch a guerilla war against the British? If Niddar's fantasy stories are to be believed, they all ran off the South India. This is not to deny the courage and fighting ability of the common Akali, in a one to one contest a Akali would probably have worsted the company sepoy 99% of the time, but as HSD has shown the Anglo-Sikh wars were the first modern war that the Khalsa army had fought. Prior to this they had faced Afghans, Muslim Rajputs, Hindu Hill Rajputs and Gurkhas who still fought the way they had fought for thousands of years. There were positives with the way the Akalis fought in the war. There is an example that Akalis would place razais over themselves just as the sepoys were overwhelming a position, they would then wait for the sepoys to pass and then attack them from the rear! I do share your view that the Khalsa army should have been a purely Sikh army. Provided the enticements were there, there is no doubt that significant numbers of Hindu and Muslim Jats would have taken Amrit, had that been the requirements to join the Khalsa army. The British were able to achieve the same when they started the recruitment into the Sikh regiments.

  9. This is wrong! Totally Wrong... BUT on the one hand we have people going around and physically attacking Guru Ji and on the other these Neeldharis who although are in the wrong have still kept Guru Ji in a respected position, pay reverence and place high importance to Guru Granth Sahib ji.... Compare that with some Gurdwaray in UK and around the world for example that have sharab and meet consumption promoted under its property!, have sachkands in low state of repair etc etc... Yes its wrong... BUT... is it "Beadbi"? Id rather entrust Neeldharis and Naamdharis to look after Guru Ji than some "Sikhs" who have allowed real beadbi to occur where we have drunk gyanee's, angs ripped out and burnt, fighting in Guru jis hazoori etc.... Anyone who has been to a Naamdhari Temple will no what I mean... the respect and satkaar they show to Guru Granth Sahib Ji is exceptional!

  11. Singh you are confused over westernization and modernization Are you saying sikhs lacked training tactics and organization ? If so how come the survived nadder shah mughals and paharis ? Not even survived but even defeated them. Akalis never had artillery as they never needed one as they always fought in close range when alone and when fighting with support of others they use to wait till swords come out. And above all Akalis faught with the strength ardas Shaheedi of akali Phoola singh indicates that. and to the main point you mention just think what are you saying being in less number they defeated Pathans who attached even lahore with afganistan without training. Calling them english names doesnt mean they were invented by british Sikhs have their own formation most of them are basic war formations for example "Shalkh kholna" mentioned in panth parkash used by sikh even during guru Hargobind sahib jis time which is same as fire by platoon or in line firing ... Just think again were Sikhs fighting without the knowledge of formations the only difference is the symmetry which british and other well trained armies had but it only looks nice while marching ... Formations and tactics were there even since mankind learned to fight. Its not more then a joke saying british invented the formation in armies. Every warrior class ever existed knows the formation and in India its called Rann Videya. Can you name even 1 shaster which was there in maharaja ranjeet singhs time but not in guru hargobind sahibs time ... Even 1 shaster ... True industrialization began with the invention of diesel engine ... before that weapons used were same and simple ... It was 1880 - 1890s when this difference in weapons started showing up with german and italy made weapons started pouring in. Just name a weapon Britishers used against Sikhs which Sikhs didnt had ? Yes they needed training but the same training Baba Budha jee gave to Guru Hargobind sahib ... Using of advance weapons has nothing to do with britishers ... As sikhs were already using it ... Which training are you talking about .. You can give reasons sikhs lost due to muslims or dogras but the truth is sikhs lost because they overlooked Dasam Pathshahs bachans ... Guru sahib said khalsa should never look upon Hindus and Muslims for protection ... But the did during anglo sikh wars and they never faught hence sikhs lost ... If maharaja ranjeet singh concentrated on creating only sikh army to save his kingdom he would had never lost because dogras and muslims had no part to play in the war ... Afganistan is the country which was never under British ... Infact if we look at the history british kinda lost in afganistan after fighting for 60 years... By your logic Were these pathans more advanced then britishers ? No ... Sikhs almost won afganistan does that means sikhs were more advanced then pathans ? In the last anglo afgan war in 1918 i suppose british even used airplanes but still no success. Well you may be surprised the sikhs lost battle of Aliwal because they were not soldiers and they waited for british to attack budhwal instead british marched at ludhiana where gorkhas and other troops from delhi and attacked sikhs. It was because sikhs didnt understood the move of enemy ... Majithia who lead sikhs in this battle was one of the sharpest sikh leader and his troops were not akalis BUT french trained sikh soldiers with non soldiers in around 7-8k in number out of 15-18k. Infact Battle of Aliwal proved sikhs were doing the basics wrong. No matter how much western tactics Sikhs would have learned but they would have lost because They forgot Gurus bachans of dont let other religion people speak in rajniti (1 of 52 bachans of guru gobind singh) Dont rely of the strength of muslims and hindus for protection (Suraj Parkash) and most important Never give up your courage (before the anglo sikh wars how many sikhs were captured by enemies none because it was impossible to catch a sikh alive but after this so called Westernization of army they started giving up see the number of war prisoners in final anglo sikh war and then read the history of shaheedi of Akali Phula singh you will know what is real courage which we lost) Being Advanced and Westernization are two different things. With time you need to be advance to survive but this advancement should not be at the cost of the foundation and principles of your identity. Guru gave its fauj Jangi bana and westernization gave them trousers. Cant sikhs fight with advanced weapons wearing bana ? Sach eh hai appan apne guru de bachan apne guru di awaz bhule taan hi assi harre te ajj we harr rahe han. Nahi taan duniach koi kaum paida nahi hoyi jo khalse nu harra sakdi.

  13. "Sikh Channel took this step to organise a protest without any consultation with Jathebandis or Sikh organisations, and it will waste a lot of energy." SinghWarior ji this is false, jathebandis were contacted including Sikh federation. Can't you see that Sangat tv is just using this as an oppurtunity to attack Sikh channel? It so blatant. I have no affiliation with channels and hope both continue to air. However it seems that sangat tv are using any opportunity they can to attack Sikh channel also how can they stand up for panthic issues when they are praising politicians from Badals party, in my book this is unforgivable, how can anyone who is genuinely panthic support Badal?

  16. Im totally on the side of Sikh Channel. Main problem with Sangat TV is their support for Badal. How can they than stand with poticians of Badal! This traitor has caused so much damage to the panth. I'm dissappointed in Sedgley St Gurdwara for organising a program where politicians from Badals part were praised. The panth will never get Khalistan, freedom, justice with Badal. Simple fact. Yesterday there was good a discussion show on Sikh Channel where youth stated that Jathebandis had been told in advance including Sikh Federation. Why has Sangat tv only bought up the issue now. What has it got do with them? They started this fight for no reason. If Sikhs want to show their pride for Dastar let them. Not all of Sangat tv ios bad they show good programs including paath form Baru Sahib. There seems to be a minority that just want to cause trouble. I genuinely believe that some people from Sangat tv form the outset wanted to close down Sikh Channel which is wrong. The more Sikh Channels the better. Neverthless, this recent argument between them does not reflect good on the panth. We need unity between channels not wasting time arguing. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Wahegur Ji Ki Fateh

  17. I was there in 2004 in France when we went on the street to demonstrate. Muslim joint in the demonstration. Government thought muslims are one and same or at least together. Currently France Sangat is going to schools, if kidz can't wear Dastar, that they go with patka. At least they wnt break there school periods which is the most important thing. Without education there is no future in Europe at all. If they would still try to fight against the law, rather than working with local society and in the back with government, more sikhs wouldn't have any access to school and education. I am understanding the problems which we have world wide. If you are demonstrating in uk I would also join. You are in the majority in UK. We in Europe we have to do it the other way in my opinion. If we start doing big demonstrations in Europe, maybe one or the other country will also forbid to wear a dastar. Belgium is trying to do that allready and in some of the region they have done it. How ever if we want all that Sikhism gets back with the spirit, then we have to get it on the roots. We have so many so called leaders in punjab and all over the world. We should work aimed and all together. We have 31. October soon, why don't we start doing mass demonstration arround the world to recognize the killed victims....

  18. For ALL those who want to split the Khalsa Panth be warned: "First they came…" is a famous statement attributed to pastor Martin Niemöller (1892–1984) about the inactivity of German intellectuals following the Nazi rise to power and the purging of their chosen targets, group after group. First they came for the communists, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a communist. Then they came for the trade unionists, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak out because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for me and there was no one left to speak out for me.

Thtas incredible someone can say this, that if we havent got a problem in our homeland we shouldn't protest, so much for family, selfish wastemans. What's more incredible is this guy is saying buy the machines for them, I'm HUNDERPROCENT sure your a sangat tv chela that's been advised to get on here and argue their case for them probably another GORAMENT DA BANDA.

  21. ^^^^^^ Shutup. WHY the hell is it that we as sikhs, only wake up to a problem when it comes and smacks us in the face?????? Why can't we try to sort out the problem as soon as we see it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!?????????? your bhul chuk is not maaf my friend, because it is clear that there are many bhul chuks in your thinking. You should first get your head out of your own backside and start to think of the panth as a whole (like what the sikh channel is doing at the moment), then once you reform your thinking, ONLY THEN come back on here and ask for maafi for your Bhul Chuks. Because your statement of Bhul chuk maaf is a load of garbage.

  26. Is Sikh Council promoting this event? I don't think so. We spend years saying we need an organisation which is democratic and represents all Sikhs. When we finally get one which is positively engaging with Ministers and MPs, and which is making a real difference on the ground, why is Sikh Channel effectively taking actions which will only undermine the Sikh Council? How can the Sikh Council be credible when it makes the statement to government that it represents UK Sikhs, when one of the channels overrides it and does what it wants! We're all stuck in our own egos (including the Sikh Channel), and refuse to sacrifice our egos to represent a United front to government and MPs, which is what is BADLY needed. Sikh Council was a way of uniting the Panth in the UK, but for its own benefit and publicity, Sikh Channel is refusing to listen to the Jathbandis and Sikh Council! People will turn up on the day, protest and leave, but it will be the sewadaars at Sikh Council that will have to pick up the pieces and seek to re-build the relationship that they are having to spend months to establish and develop! Sadly, it seems Sikh Channel is not interested in the longer term strategic agenda for the Panth, only short term publicity which promotes the channel.

  27. No what we need is the recalling of all saroops from gurdwara's and people who cant provide 24/7 security. We are talking about our Guru Ji why is no security being provided and any fool is allowed to go up to the guru and tear birs out or set on fire. What kind of idiots are running our institutions? I gurantee more of these incidents will take place because its a test. Its a test to see how fast the Sikhs will react and how strongly. Back in 80s Sant Bhindranwale said anyone who is caught doing these kinds of acts will not be forgiven hit squads were sent to pump these demonic criminals with bullets. That time has come again. Any person who is caught doing it should receive the death penalty either the government does it or Sikhs take action themselves and any person (ie granthi and co) who is in possession of a saroop and cant provide security should be given at least 20years in prison so that a message is sent out to the community you will be held personally responsible for the safety and sanctity of our Guru Ji. Might want to ask the freemasons SGPC what action they are taking. Contact these people here http://sgpc.net/the-sgpc/index_eng.asp

  29. Guys i am sorry, but in my opinion D-Day is totally wrong. D-Day means something else, than Dastar Day. For us here in Germany we can say or i can hope that we wnt go on the street to demonstrate. We don't have any general dastar Problems in Germany. And if we have problems, first of all we should try with talking and discussion with politicans or representivs. Demonstration should be the last case. If we go down on the street, they will say oh wow so many sikhs, interesting... they are wearing Turban and Kirpan. So maybe one guy will get the idea to ban them for ever. So as long any country has no direct Problems like France with dastar, you shouldn't demonstrate. They will put us in the same box like muslims. In Uk there aren't any issues. In Italy, if they have problems go and talk with them rather than demonstrating. By demonstrating we will get more focous in public. Sikhs shouldn't do demonstrating to get focoused. They should do good jobs, like they did in England the looting time. We just need to get accepted. If we have problems on airports in italy. As i have heard it. They can't check on the Airports. So why SIkhs doesn't donate good mashines to check without taking dastar of like in Germany. If we want to celebrate the D-Day for the second world war, as it stands for. I am hunderprocent sure, we will get more public. Ppl should see what our singhs havedone to get democracy in Europe. But aslong a country hasn't got direct problems with dastar we shouldn't go on the streets. It shouldn't be our first act to get recognized Bhul chuk maaf

  30. Another cult leader that wears Guru Sahib's Bana was summoned to Sri Akal Takht Sahib for this kind of beadbi. But his punishment was very small. He agreed not to let it happen again. The above videos were uploaded in april of 2009. This cult leader has now done the same and let's see what happens to him. This cult leader has a close relation with the Jathedars. I think i say a picture of the current Sri Akal Takht Sahib Jathedar honor this cult leader. Download the videos and sent them to Sri Akal Takht Sahib. Most likely this cult leaders followers and those that love him so much will try to delete them off the net and make it out to be it never happened.

  32. regardless of the animosity which posters on this thread appear to have towards sangat tv the truth is the majority of gurdwaras, councils and jathebandi's in the uk and italy do not support the d-day protest the main point being why protest at this point when discussions are ongoing and haven't been exhausted first sikh channel is being offered a way out of the hole it has dug itself into for its own reasons - it can either take it and save face or be pig-headed and disregard all the advice it is getting and isolate itself further than it already has

  35. Agree with Singh211. What sense does it make to have a protest when Parliament is shut on a Sunday? MPs won't even know the protest happened and it makes Sikhs look stupid, especially when our organisations, including Sikh Council UK, BSCF and Sikh Federation are already having ongoing discussions with the government on recent EU-enforced law changes which affect the Dastaar. Sikh CHannel took this step to organise a protest without any consultation with Jathebandis or Sikh organisations, and it will waste a lot of energy. I'm not against protests, as have supported them in other contexts, but when protests happen, they should be coordinated with the Panth united, in order to ensure they are a success. This protest is not supported at all by the most active Sikh Jathebandiaan. Sikh Channel, it seems, are refusing to listen to our SInghs that have links with the Government ministers we need to influence. They seem to have an ulterior agenda too, otherwise they would have listened to the Singhs that actively know how to successfully lobby the Government. Having said all the above, I have nothing against Sikh Channel, and any awareness raised on the Dastaar issue is better than none at all.

  36. Now this is where you have come undone. The Sikhs matched the British in terms of weapons because we modernized. If we had done what the Akalis wanted we would have gone into the Anglo-Sikh Wars without many of the artillery and cavalry weapons they did. So one minute you are saying we didnt need to modernize and now you are bigging up that we had the same modern weapons as they did? The same advanced weapons that were a product of the modernisation of the Sikh Army lol? As for training, the use of infantry was key to the defence of the Punjab. Before hand being an infantryman was seen as a poor substitute for a cavalryman. We had a feudal system. Maharajah Ranjit SIngh created an army consisting of divisions of infantry so that we could fight wars with other infantry based armies and hold onto territories taken. How would Akalis deal with a cavalry charge consisting of thousands of cavalrymen? The regular army units formed squares. When the cavalry closed in, one face collapsed forming a horseshoe shape. As the cavalry charged in they were shot at from three sides. At the Battle of Aliwal, the regular army units did this to humiliate the British cavalry and escape the battlefield. One of the best British cavalry regiments lost half their men and all their officers due to this tactic. The Sikh militias, who were fighting like their ancestors hundreds of years before, didnt know what to do. They were mauled by horse artillery and cavalry. Read Amarpal Singh Sidhu's book on the subject. Could Akalis fight against a regiment of the line? No. You said yourself that they needed to fight close range. Whilst they were charging they would be shot at hundreds of times. Not the best idea is it? Can you tell me one time this ever worked against the British? Sikh regular regiments on the other hand could go toe to toe with the British and give as good as they got. In numerous battles they forced the British to retreat because of their willowing fire. Did the Akhalis form grand batteries? No they didnt even have artillery. Yet the use of artillery inflicted heavy casualties on the British. I've already mentioned the other tactics that the Akalis didnt know but that the Khalsa learnt in order to be able to fight the British. Sikhs didnt have the numbers to form a Punjabi army on their own. At the Battle of Sobroan we lost 8,000 to 10,000 men. That would be the equivalent of 250,000 - 300,000 dying today. We couldnt have ruled Punjab without non-sikhs. One of Maharaja Ranjit Singh's best generals was a Hindu Brahmin http://en.wikipedia....isr_Diwan_Chand True. He may also have been deposed a lot more easily too. Which is why he didnt employ only SIkhs. Sit down. This may shock you. But this happens in life. In sports, team A beats team B. Team B beats team C. But then Team C goes and beats team A! How does that work? The british took over our country and maintained the gains that we made. The reason they lost in afghanistan is due to being too bold and over adventurous. We didnt have a great time making any process from Jamrud did we? BTW what is in Afghanistan? Are they rich? Have stuff worth taking? No. So no wonder no one made a determined attempt to annex them. The afghans never regained Peshawar when the British were there did they? Or march on Delhi? Having a skewed view of history doesnt help you at all. British intelligence reports make him out to be a morose <banned word filter activated> and nothing like his father. Ranjodh SIngh was stupid to camp on the same side of a river as the enemy and to sit around in the morning when the British were already marching. He was also stupid to not deploy scouts to warn of the approach of the British. The french trained troops fought well and were able to go back to the frontline soon after the defeat. The militias who were fighting like their ancestors were mauled and had to sit out the rest of the war. Well you've changed your tune. Please bare in mind that the Akalis didnt stick around to fight, they were legging it to south india. Secondly, you have completely missed the point that the British were not the Mughals or Afghans. They didnt want to wipe us out and convert us to their religion like the muslims. Like I said before, it was a different kind of war. Why are there so many old people after 1984? Why are there still Akalis? Surely if what you say is true then they should all be dead. If Akali General Phula Singh Ji was such a legend he would have made plans for his succession after his death. But after he died the Akalis lost their edge. They couldnt even practice what they preached on the battlefields with the English. Well many Sikh regulars didnt wear trousers in battle, they were just for the parade ground in winter time. In the Sino-SIkh War in the early 1840s did the Akalis turn up and fight in their kachera? No of course not, Tibet was too cold. It was left to the regular, trouser wearing soldiers to fight the Chinese. If the Akalis were so great and knowledgeable of the Guru's views on war, why didnt they win the anglo-sikh wars for everyone else?

  37. There is a big difference between contacting Jathebandis, i.e. informing them we are doing x and between engaging them in the planning, logistics, outcomes and follow up. I think it was the former for the Sikh Channel. I have been told that those that have been in meetings with Government officals on this, that the UK government has been speaking to the EU and also minister in other Europaen countries, maybe someone can confirm? Nothing wrong in raising awarness, however need to have all the facts, so if questioned by an MP, we have the answers.
