  2. O man he was discharged today... There is nothing to say the attackers were Sikh. His wife described them as bearded men and said she could not say they were Sikh. If they were Sikh...4 Singh managed to botch this up so bad?! 4 of them?! Seriously they couldnt take a 78year old down...does this not sound fishy?? Pul chuk maaf ji

  3. Having more historical details does not mean more depth. It is the spiritual depth one must be looking at. Whether one knows his own father or ancestors (though good to know) does not change his own personal duties and goal of life. Semitic religions limit themselves to this planet only and start the creation from Adam whereas Gurmat advocates intelligent life forms on other planets, existence of infinite galaxies and solar systems where different life forms exist and practice truth. Guru Nanak Sahib travelled to many such planets. Gurmat connects all these life forms in spiritual realms because soul never dies and all these souls are connected with the Divine Being. Gurmat does not support the idea of God creating only one human (Adam) and then realizing his mistake decides to create another one for amusement. Then he (God) allows them to practice incest for the sake for spreading humanity. Is this what you call “depth”? How insensible and insulting to God’s Omnipotence and Omniscience. Gurmat advocates that the creation did not start from one human but has been created and destroyed many times and each creation is created in a different way. But souls do not change. What changes is the physical form. This is how “interdimensional” beings are interconnected. One soul of this planet can take the next birth on another planet, in another universe or in a different creation. To put an exact starting point to creation means putting limits on God's power. Your lack of ignorance about Gurmat is not a valid justification for rejecting Gurmat. Absolutely false. Your misunderstanding about Gurmat is the only reason why you are not right for this path yet.

  9. (1) I followed this story with interest and I am shocked that 4 young men armed with a knife attacked a 78 year old man and didn't inflict further damage than has been mentioned. I find it deeply suspicious that 4 young men could attack an old man so meekly that he was discharged from hospital within 24 hours and will partake in international air travel within 72 hours of the supposed attack. Quite a remarkable recovery, NHS standards must have improved. (2) With a CCTV camera for every 13 people in London, these 4 men will be identified in due course. (3) The sheer lack of clarity of the exact location (Oxford Circus/outside hotel) and the time of the attack (22:40 or 01:00 according to one report), with Scotland Yard conflicting the Indian High Commison is worrying. (4) The absence of security personnel raises eyebrows to say the least. (5) The only witness thus far is his wife. At this stage she isn't even sure if they were Sikh men! In such a tourist hotspot, surely there must have been independent witnesses? Lt Gen Brar has committed an atrocity of seismic proportions. However, unfortunately, I fear that this incident will be used as an opportunity to "quieten down" the British Sikhs with the aim of disabling their political agenda.

  10. just recently sikhs put a case on badal, maybe all the india crew are getting together and saying "these sikhs need to be defamed". this man has security with him 24/7 he lives in a security compound, you really think 4 people would be able to approach him like this. also, how did 4 people not stab him good, what they scratched him did they? if he was stabbed i don't think he'd be able to go to india anyway. maybe the badal gang and GOI want us to look bad. i just heard some person on the radio making khalistani speaches (not saying this is bad), just don't say anything yet, he has done many horrible unforgivable things, just don't hype anything and make sikhs look like hot headed fools. if pro-brar/india people say things like brar is a hero, calmly put down facts about what india and brar did to sikhs, and why sikhs fought back.

  11. I'm kind of proud to see brothers restraining themselves and keeping their wits about them instead of the usual knee-jurk, hysterical, frothing at the mouth reactions we've become used to in relation to 84, which just play into the hands of antiSikh forces be they Indian or white. Brother Kulbir <edited> got it right when he said that a new game is being played out there. We have to use our brains more than our emotions in this new game.

  12. On a another note, How could a anakhi sikh of sri guru gobind singh ji maharaj does such a lame job on kuldeep s brar and but importantly go in hiding instead of smiling surrending to officals for breaking the british law. Watch the movie the interperter where curropt CIA offical try to assassinate war criminal in U.N to re-gain credibility for war criminal. Almost assassinated leader gets more credibility than leaders which hasn't been touched at all ...in the real world view..!!!!!!!!! WAKE UP YOU GUYS..!!! They are making us look like taliban, fanatics and fuddus..!!

  13. While Lt-Gen Brar is thought to still be a target for Sikh extremists, there is no evidence they are behind this attack No need to make a big hoo ha over it, but check out how the BBC caption to the picture showing Hyde Park 84 marches subtly suggests that all the protesters are 'Sikh extremists'. Just a note for the asleep.

Another thing, how is it that ANYONE was possible to do this. I know for fact that Brar had 24/7 security. Think people, THINK. Many are tarnishing our image. Lets not tarnish it ourselves!!!

  16. No matter what, without bhari (heavy) abhiyaas of naam and simran we cannot achieve our spiritual goals. Prem is not the only factor in simran and bhagti. Along with bhagti we need to have a good jeevan in which we abstain from sins and live an honest life. We need to follow bachans of Guru Sahib including Rehit. We need to make the effort to do simran and paath. Without heavy abhiyaas we cannot build the prem required for bhagti. Dhiyaan (concentration) is another important factor in simran. We must listen to the dhuni (sound) of Naam with great concentration. Once a Gursikh realises that one has to do paath with prem, shardha, dhiyaan e.t.c. then they will make faster spiritual progress. Many of us will not have the prem required for bhagti . Therefore we must indulge in Gurbanee Paath, Kirtan and Simran to increase our prem, vairaag and shardha. Satguru Mehar Karan.

  18. We, Sikhs do not glorify such things. Such events are always tragic however looking at the injustices given to Sikhs for the past 65 years is the only reason that why some resort to this method. Brar may not be guilty in India but he is guilty for war crimes against 30 million Sikhs. Had India stop protecting and promoting such low life thugs then only such events can be avoided. India should uphold the law by arresting rouge anti-minorities elements such modi, Tytler. Those who are involved should not be given jail as they did not do anything wrong except giving/providing justice to 30 million Sikhs. Request to brothers here is to write a reply in sikhi wise mature manner rather than going for ghetto style.

She has more facial kes than Balpreet Kaur bhenji and has a Singh, so with Guru Sahib's kirpa Balpreet Kaur bhenji will also be blessed. Don't worry, Guru Sahib takes the ultimate care of those chidren of His who are firm in the Rehit blessed by Him.

  20. She looks like she shapes her beard. The edges are too straight. Hormone imbalance. She might have an ovarian tumor. Unfortunately, once the hairs have come in, the only way to get rid of them is by shaving or laser treatment. Waheguru's kirpa, or a medical condition? I'm for the latter. Her hormones aren't right. If she wanted to fix her condition, I wouldn't be mad at her. However, she seems content. I hope she realizes her condition, and is not keeping her beard because she thinks that is how God meant for her to be.

  21. This is my way of proving a God it came to me through meditating so yeah it was a Secret but algood NEED TO HELP A BROTHER OUT BRAHS HERE WE GO: If I ask You or an Atheist that how was the Universe created they might say The Big Bang. Then I might say what was before The Big Bang?? they might say nothing we don't know... Scientist say That there was ONLY Energy and Matter existing before the big bang that's what scientist say right, but with energy and matter alone you can not get something out of nothing Right?? Then That person might ask ME how do you think the universe became? I say God created it. Then you might ask how did God come? how was he created?? I say He was always there never took BIRTH and will never DIE, never CREATED and will never be DESTROYED (GURBANI tells us this too in Japji Sahib), then you might say PROVE IT.... e=mc2 (energy = matter, matter= energy) if neither can be CREATED NOR DESTROYED than when does it begin to Be ???, when did it ever begin ??? . It never Did he was Always there just like the scientist say that energy and matter was the only thing existing before everything came into existence. Scientist, Atheist, non-believers don't realize this and they never will THEY CAN'T ACCEPT THE TRUTH..... HOPEFULLY I HELPED BROTHER I AM ALSO SIXTEEN DUDE NO JOKE I went through the same thing with the Buddhist religion haha no joke, then i realised that Guru Granth sahib ji there is nothing like it man. It has all the answers in it bro... SOMETIMES TO OPEN YOUR EYES, YOU HAVE TO CLOSE THEM my friend :D :D :D :D... MEDITATE BROTHER FIND GOD and Be happy.... 23. there's 2 scenarios I know of, of ex-nihang types who both had problems with nasha and poverty.. i'm sure sangat are aware of them too. But I want to compare the approach taken. 1. was approached by christian charity who helped him get sober and and helped him financially to get on his feet.. so naturally he shaved and became a committed christian. 2. Dera Choota Sauda guy.. again, broke and hooked on drugs, the guy went to choota sauda and they helped rehabilitate him in one way or another. He again shaved and became a dera die hard... I will never have mercy on those that use bana to rape/extort/deceive money.. naklee nihangs like ajit phoola... But this guy, to me just seems like an elderly soul, slightly confused in need of a bit of love and help.. i could be totally wrong.. but i don't think he deserved a public beating, especially the humiliating <banned word filter activated> slaps

  24. Guru Gobind Singh Ji Directly said in commencement of Chobis Avtar Bani: ਜੋ ਚਉਬੀਸ ਅਵਤਾਰ ਕਹਾਏ ॥ ਤਿਨ ਭੀ ਤੁਮ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤਨਿਕ ਨ ਪਾਏ ॥ जो चउबीस अवतार कहाए ॥ तिन भी तुम प्रभ तनिक न पाए ॥ Those who are called twenty-four incarnations; O Lord ! they even could not realise thee in a small measure; This means ਜੋ ਚਉਬੀਸ ਅਵਤਾਰ and ਤੁਮ ਪ੍ਰਭ are separate entities. Guru Gobind Singh ji is worshiper of ਪ੍ਰਭ not ਚਉਬੀਸ ਅਵਤਾਰ. ------- One more place in Chobis Avtar Guru Gobind Singh ji said I do not adore Ganesha in the beginning and also do not mediatate on Krishna and Vishnu; I have only heard about them with my ears and I do not recognize them; my consciousness is absorbed at the feet of the Supreme Kaal (the Immanent Brahman).434. --------- In Guru Granth Sahib it is mentioned, ਹੁਕਮਿ ਉਪਾਏ ਦਸ ਅਉਤਾਰਾ ॥ ਦੇਵ ਦਾਨਵ ਅਗਣਤ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥ Under ਹੁਕਮਿ 10 Autaara took form. It means 10 Autaras is a Creation. Sikhs are worshiper of Creator not Creation Guru Gobind Singh ji is very much clear about what he is believing and if anyone read Chobis Avtar from one end to other could easily get what guru gobind singh ji believes. There are many examples in Dasam Granth Sahib, but if the above are not satisfying then those will also not and also Telling history of Dharma is different thing from Worshiping.

  26. dear sadsangat. A post in another thread posted by my veer N30S1NGH, was posted a thukh in sri Akal Ustat bani I fully believe in this bani as being written by guru maharaj himself, this is not a topic of dasam granth etc. But the thukh has really got me thinking, now i feel confused. This is the thukh. If the unmutterable Lord can be realised by the repetition of His Name, then a small bird called pudana repeats "Tuhi, Tuhi" (Thou art everyting) all the time. Does this mean there is no point in doing nam japna? as a bird can do this too. I know some of sangat will say, a bird cant show love or has no intellect like humans. But, it says the Lord is unmutterable, meaning it cant be spoken by anyone which surely includes humans. It is a question which came to mind because today I have begun my day at work with trying to do lots of nam simran so far thank waheguru and have just visited this on my lunch break to see that thread and then now I question this. These two videos shows what the thukh means when bird repeating Gods name. May God bless this maha moorakh with His gian. dhan sadsangat ji.

  27. The tradition of Langar was started by Guru Nanak Dev Ji when they fed the poor, the needy and the destitute and the Gurughars have been carrying on this tradition ever since, but have we lost the essence of what it was all about? Gurus lanagar is pavittar and shoud be eaten with caution. This is not a time to fill our stomachs to the full, demanding all sorts of extras to go along with the langar. Many a time one can see sangat in the langar hall eat three, four rotis, with the sabzi swimming in copious amounts of butter, but this is not my point. Each has their own way, who am I to say who is right and who is wrong. But a word of caution. Very rarely is langar made with nishkaam. Very rarely is it made without some sukhna being embedded into it. It should be made with a clear mind only attached to Gurus charan. When people get an ailment of some sort, be it painful knees (goday dhukday, yaar) or back pain or headaches etc many will go to the Gurdwara, which is a good thing, but they will pick up some sugar, or milk or ghee and think that by making the offering it will ease their pain. That is all it takes! The thought has now attached itself with the ‘parshad’ and as that tickee of butter winds its way into the sabzi so does the karma of the painful knee. Now multiply that with all the other karama/thoughts attached to all the other offerings taken to the Gurdwara and you then have a langar that has now taken on an altogether different flavour. Add to that the thoughts and longings of the people who make the langar and it goes even further. Now people sit in line and eat three, four makee-the-roti with lashings of saag, with three knobs of butter and they will ask for two glasses of lassie, followed by jalabies and sweet chawl, then they wonder why they don’t feel so good. They then will take gallons of milk home and use that in their own cooking! It has to do with the lack of nutritional value and high cholesterol food for sure, but more importantly it has to do with all that is attached to the food that we cannot see, the suckhnas, the longings, the pleadings, the desires. So the advice would be, by all means eat langar, but keep it in moderation and if possible try to do a little sewa as that will even things out a little.

  30. Chatana is right, its hard to explain. But i will give it try anyway: You will find two Sikh school of thoughts- Modern day Sikh thought of God: abhramic version of God (thanks to protestant victorian christian fanatics when they were ruling India, they implanted their protestant victorian influence on sikh thought- to divide and rule- Sikh religion as we were seen as a threat- British umpire) Traditional Sikh thought of creator: Vahiguroo (God) In Sikh theology, Vahiguroo is ONE ( "Ik" Ongkar). However, to realize and feel oneness of Vahiguroo in everyone, in everything and in Vahiguroo attributes, Vahiguroo is consider to have two states- nirgun and sargun. In fact, whole sikh foundation is based on nirgun and sargun state of Vahiguroo. Definition of Nirgun form/state of Vahiguroo in its essence is Sat(truth) Chit(Supreme Consciousness) anand (Blissful) which cannot be described but knowledge of supreme existence of Vahiguroo can only be felt and attained Definition of Sargun form/state of Vahiguroo- Sargun state of Vahiguroo is when nirgun original state of Vahiguroo immanent its attributes: i) Shabad Mantras which explains the attributes of Vahiguroo but most importantly- shabad which has (gyan)knowledge of Vahiguroo When one meditates on shabad, it unites human being fully with God. ii) Creation- creator is infused in its creation like how fragnance is infused into the flower. iii) Physical form of Vahiguroo- Highest emobidment of Vahiguroo- Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji to Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji divine avtar of Nirgun Vahiguroo followed by six different type of avtars in Indic Philosphy. Nirgun state of Vahiguroo transcendent its attributes to sargun during creation and it's ever present through out cycle of yugas/ages (Satjug, treta, dvapar and kaljug). Perfect example of Nirgun transcedenting its immanent to Sargun is deep spiritual meaning of - Ikongkar (First Mantra in our living guru- Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Ikongkar~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Ik- Indicates Nirgun form/state of Vahiguroo Ong- indicates nirgun attributes transcedent itself to sargun - shabad/creation Kar- Kar intertwines both sargun and nirgun state of Vahiguroo b) What are Vahiguroo attributes? - Attributes of Vahiguroo are limitless and its beyond human comprehension as stated in jaap sahib (one of most important composition which talks about nirgun sargun flow of God). However, main attributes of Vahiguroo are mentioned in Gurmantar- Vahiguroo itself and Mool Mantra. Gurmantar- Vahiguroo Vahi (Acharaj/Wonderful Roop) Guroo - Bring one from darkness to light As our state of mind changes, one start feeling deeper meaning of Vahiguroo Gurmantar- Vahi (Acharaj/Wonderful roop) Guroo- chaitan roop (all prevading super consciousness atma paratma) Mool Mantra- Ikongkar = ( One Vahiguroo Nirgun/Sargun Interconnected/intertwine with one and another) Satnaam- His name is truth Kartapurkh- He himself is creator. Nirbhau- He is without fear. Nirvair- He does not have any enemy Akaal Moorat- He is without time, he is exist without shape or form. Ajooni- Without birth/death Saibhang- He is light of knowledge Gurparsad - He can be felt by grace of Guru(Vahiguroo) Jap - Meditate Aad sach means Vahiguroo always been truth. One cannot find confine- Vahiguroo in time or space- Aad Sach. Jagud Sach- From the beginnning of all yugs(ages) you are truth. Habhi Sach: Vahiguroo is truth in the present with no change. Nanak Hosi bhi sach: Nanak says, vahiguroo will be always truth in future with any change In gurbani nirgun and sargun are one: Sargun Nirgun Nirankar Sun Samadhi Aaap, Aaapie Kiya Nanaka Apaie Fer Jaap || Gurbani further illustrates one immanent to many: Nirgun Tae Sargun Thiya (From Nirgun vahiguroo, sargun came). From formless, He appeared as form. Then in Jaap sahib, Guru gobind singh ji shows us how nirgun transcedent to many and then from many back to one(Nirgun): Ek moorat(i) anek darsan koon roop anek|| (Jaap) Thou, the One Entity, appearest as Many creating innumerable forms. Khel khel akhel khelan ant ko phir(i) ek||81|| After playing the world-drama, when Thou wilt stop the play, Thou wilt be the same One again.81. b) How this whole universe was created? - The whole universe/multiverse was created by shabad resosance(divine sound) upon nirgun vahiguroo transcedenting its attributes to sargun. As our living guru- gurbani states: Utpat Parloa Shabade Hovaie Creation and destruction occurs through divine shabad Shabade hi fir opat hovaie Through the shabad, creation happens again. c.)What is the shabad behind creation and destruction? Gurbani states: Pirthame On(g)kar So Dhun Poran Jagat Mae Raha || Fist ongkar was recited and that resosance created world and give nourishment to this world. (Siri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, Dasam Granth Sahib) Ongkar aad kathni anad, Khal Khand Khyal Gurbar Akaal ||

When we submit to his will and stop fighting against whathe had written for us, then we can become complete and move on to a higher plane of understanding because it takes everything wet have to fight against Gods will...God doesn't need us to submit, we need to submit for our own good, and this isn't even Islamic, this is the root of most theological beliefs. Even cherokee...quit thinking I am looking at everything from an Islamic standpoint because that is not the case...you keep telling me to open my mind and not look at everything from an Islamic standpoint but you refuse to listen when I do...how many times have I explained my ancestorial belief? Talking about planes of understanding performing superhuman feats multidimensions and other things and none of that comes from Islam...please open your hearts to me and try to understand that I am NOT here to debate Islam with you but to find the true will of God, if it is here, of course and I am trying to understand but I HAVE TO ASK QUESTIONS

I wasn't satisfied with judaism and christianity, why should I be satisfied with Modern Islam? I submit to God, not to man...if I every become satisfied and stop searching for truth I hope someone will call me a hypocrite and spark my curiosity even more. I do not desire wouldsworldly things but only what may/will benefit me after I die. If you personally feel like I am not worthy to share your beliefs, then don't tell me about them, but don't make me feel bad or feel like I cannot find the true path because one day I will and I hope that after I die God will reward my efforts.

  38. All these threads created by the OP are useless. His signature says he sumbits to Allah, then if he has, he should be content with it and he would have to do no more searching. Go to the mosque and pray, religion is not created to subjectively say who is a holy man and who is not and who is a lower holy man. God, Allah, Ram, whatever you want to call him does not change with your beliefs. The destination is the divine and you are stuck in rituals. Ask yourself how do i get away from these rituals and step on the path of Dharma/religion. Allah is not going to ask you how many people did you turn into Muslim, as in a blink of an eye Allah can turn all into kafirs, then what work have you done. In a blink of an eye Allah can take all your good deeds and wash them away, then what have you done in this world? What does helping another accomplish, when God can make all suffer in a second. Why fast when the next day you look to take what is anothers? Day and night are illusion, but in a month in the latter sin can be committed? Allah says to recognize him, but how can this take place when you are stuck in rituals and sin. Can a unconscious person know his where abouts? Then how can a sinful person know Allah? Food, wealth, wine, women, paradise is not the disease, but expecting a pay out for these is the disease. Why desire when you have sumbitted to Allah, isn't Allah enough? Why seek to know how the world existed, don't you have faith in Allah to say he created? If Allah holds you (Muslim, who has submitted to Allah) off a cliff don't you have enough faith he will catch you? If the Koran is the word of Allah, then why search else where? Doesn't the word of Allah satisfiy your thrist? Either Muslims (who have sumbitted to Allah) are ignorant of Allah's teachings (Koran) or they are not satisfied after reading the Koran and contemplating over it, so they search else where to even attain a glimpse of feeling satisfied.

Its got nothing to do with us, its her hair let her do what she wants with it. She is educated and Im sure her doctors would have discussed any health conditions with her.

  41. Here are two excerpts from a page on Facebook which u may like to read which answer ur assertion. WAS BABA NANAK A MUSLIM? Many misguided muslim brothers believe Baba Nanak was a muslim. Here we will answer their misguided assertions. But first who is a muslim? According to their own definition a muslim is: 1.) No one worthy of worship but Allah. 2.) Prophet Mohammed the last messenger of God. 3.) Lives by the teachings of Islam. Now the Sikh concept however is different: 1.) One Creator, God but we can merge with this creator and become one with him. Guru is already one with God. 2.) Guru Nanak is Guru and not prophet Mohammad. We can bow to Guru Sahib, praise him and serve him. Why? As he is fully merged with one. Even though he is human he has Waheguru inside him using him as a platform. Guru Arjan Dev Ji tells us: Gur Parmeshwar eko jaan, Jo tis Bhavae so Parvaan. (M5). Know that Guru is one with God. If we please Guru we will be honoured in his court. Now Guru Nanak Dev Ji also calls himself a messenger of God, if he was muslim this would be sacrilege as muslims only believe in Prophet Mohammad and those before him as messengers. Many people say later Guru's changed Guru Ji's Bani. These people can still access the pothis at various Gurudwaras and see Guru Ji's notebooks and what he wrote in them. It would be very hard to change what was already written as each Guru used it as the basis for his Bani. We as Sikhs however believe all Gurus were one jot, Guru Nanak Dev Ji in different forms. Lets look at Guru Ji's life history first: 1.) Guru Ji was born into a Hindu family. His father's name was Mehta Kalu, mother's Tripta Devi and sister's Nanaki. 2.) Due to his family being Hindu Guru Ji first studied in a Hindu school. At this point there is no proof of him coming into contact with Islamic theology. 3.) Later Guru Ji went to a muslim school to learn. However there is no indication, even in history there, that Guru Ji said shahdat or Islamic declaration of faith. 4.) Guru Ji's emphasis on oneness with God was unique however oneness of God isn't a concept unique to Islam only. Christianity and Judaism believe in oneness of God and at the time Bhagti movement was prevalent in India when Guru Ji was growing up. Which also preached the oneness of God. 5.) Guru Sahib's marriage. By this time Guru ji would have finished his studies from both pandit and maulvi. Who did he get married to? Seeing how India was a diverse nation at the time, power however was with the muslim minority. A non-muslim marrying a muslim was out of the question however. Mehta Kalu arranged Guru Ji's marriage with Mata Sulakhni, daughter of Mool Chand and Chando Rani; both Hindus from Batala. Now how did Guru Ji get married? There is no proof of him going around agni as Hindus do or doing Nikkah. Instead Guru Ji wrote Ik-Onkaar on a piece of paper and went around that with his wife. This so infuriated the high-caste Brahims that they tried killing him by throwing a crumbling wall on him but Guru Ji stopped the wall. This wall is still preserved in Pakistan. Now another indication is that Sulakhni is not an Islamic name. And no Maulvi or Qazi were present at the wedding. 6.) Now lets look at the names of Guru Sahib's children. Baba Sri Chand and Lakhmi Dass. Knowing how Guru Ji uses names of Hindu Gods and Muslim names for Gods for Waheguru we can easily say these names had no Hindu meaning. However they do not sound Muslim at all or carry any Islamic meaning. 7.) It is an accepted fact that Guru Nanak Dev Ji after emerging from Bein Nadi said "There is no hindu nor Muslim." Now if Guru Nanak was a muslim imagine what would have been done to him. He was denying the faith he was born in! 8.) Guru Nanak Dev Ji writes in Bani that he was a Dhadhi, a ministrel. A musician without a job. Now music is not often associated with Islam. There are fatwas against it and with it. One can reach the conclusion total music is a waste of time in Islam. Guru Ji however said he was a permanent musician. In fact he and Bhai Mradanna had a rawab and Guru Ji advocated Kirtan. 9.) Guru Ji did not discuss or teach from the koran, which again would be a sacrilege for a muslim he discussed and taught mainly from his own writings and sang from them. Again another taboo in Islam. 10.) Guru Ji went to a mosque. Yes and he went to temples. In both places he refused to observe costumes and join in with the worshippers. Why? Because as Guru Ji said both Hindus and muslims follow the wrong concept of God. Muslims took Guru Ji to a mosque to prove there were muslims. But there he did not join in with them in namaz. When after namaz he was asked by Qazi and Nawab why he did not join in he told them that no one was praying correctly, as their minds were elsewhere. They did not know how to pray. If he was a true muslim, irregardless of what others thought he would have still did namaz. According to Islam only Allah is allowed to know one's mind or whats inside one. Al-Ghyab or the invisible world. Guru Ji however was the messenger of God and not 100% God himself, yet he still knew what was in everyone's minds. Another differentiation from Islam on this point, as Guru and God are both Antarjami. 11.) Guru Ji had a musim friend Mardanna with him on his travels. But Mardanna, no indication has been given, ever did namaz or followed Islam despite being born in a muslim family. He also helped Guru Ji sing his bani, a message outside the Koran. The Koran forbids spreading messages from other sources as both Guru Ji and Mardanna were doing. Also Bhai Mardanna's bani is in Guru Granth Sahib: ਸਲੋਕ੝ ਮਰਦਾਨਾ ੧ ॥ सलोकढ़ मरदाना १ ॥ Salok marḝĝnĝ 1. We will have more including the journey to Mecca. However muslim brothers are still free to believe in Guru Nanak as Jagat Guru and apply his teachings about the nature of God in their lives. WAS BABA NANAK A MUSLIM? PART 2. 1.)Did Guru Ji actually go to Mecca? Yes he did, and there are many sufi saints who confirm this; especially those who follow Sian Mian Mir. But Sikhs have their own proof, recorded by Bhai Gurdass Ji. Bhai Gurdass was the nephew of the third Guru, Guru Amardass Ji, around this time ithiaas of Guru Nanak Dev Ji was well known and Bhai Sahib was well versed in it. He used sources from the time to compose his vaar, as follows: Displaying Vaar 1, Pauri 32 of Baabaa Dhiri Makay Gaiaa Neel Basatr Dhaaray Banavaaree. बाबा फिरि मੴके गइआ नील बसत्र धारे बनवारी । Donning blue attire then Baba Nanak went to Mecca. Aasaa Hadi Kitaab Kachhi Koojaa Baang Mousalaa Dhaaree. आसा हथि किताब कछि कूजा बांग मुसੴला धारी । He held staff in his hand, pressed a book under his armpit, caught hold of a metal pot and mattress. Baitdaa Jaai Maseet Vichi Jidai Haajee Haji Gujaaree. बैठा जाइ मसीत विचि जिथै हाजी हजि गुजारी । Now he sat in a mosque where the pilgrms (hajis) had gathered. Jaa Baabaa Soutaa Raati No Vali Maharaabay Paai Pasaaree. जा बाबा सुता राति नो वलि महराबे पाइ पसारी । When Baba (Nanak) slept in the night spreading his legs towards the alcove of mosque at Kaba, It is often said when Guru Ji went to Mecca he carried a blue robe with Koranic verses on it. When Guru Ji went on his travels, he would stay away from home and not come back for long periods. In theses periods clothing he carried would be gifts given to him, henceforth the robe. Now if Guru Ji was muslim he would have passed the robe onto the next Guru but no, he gave it away. 2.) But wouldn't the Koranic verses indicate Guru Ji was muslim irregardless of what he did with the robe? Surely there must be more to being a muslim then having a Koran or a cloth with Koranic verses? Today libraries and many theologians have Korans but does that make them muslim? Already we have discussed yesterday how Baba Nanak did not use Koran as basis of his teachings, even though he respected the Koran he did not believe in it's teachings. There is a world of difference between respecting and believing. 3.) What about Guru Ji's dress? Wasn't he wearing a turban? As demonstrated in the above vaar Guru Ji wore blue, the turban however is article of cloth spread throughout the east. And not all muslims wear it, many Hindus also wore a turban back then. Guru Nanak Dev however had a distinct style one in which his jura would show. At this time Mecca was a desert city, so it is more than likely a large amount of the population would have worn Keffiyahs. 4.) If Guru Nanak Dev Ji was a non-muslim then how did he gain entry into Mecca? Non-muslims are not allowed in. From circa700 A.D. to 1803 A.D. Mecca was under Caliphs linked to the Turkish Ottoman empire. They allowed non-muslims free access to Mecca because it was a desert city and a good trading location and also because they, the Caliphs, believed that non-muslims would see Mecca and become Muslims. So Guru Nanak Dev Ji easily got into Mecca. It was only after Mecca was in the hands of the Wahabbis, Saudi Arabai. in the 1900's that strict non-muslim laws were forced. 5.) Did Guru Ji do Hajj? An important and basic factor of Hajj is to go to Mina, and then to Mount Arafat the next day. There is no indication that Guru Ji ever did this. If Guru Ji was muslim then he would definitely have gone to Mina, as Hajj is the 5th pillar of Islam. Another important factor regarding Mecca is that no Guru after Guru Ji went to Mecca, nor did Guru Ji ever advocate to the Sikhs or any other Gurus to go to Mecca. This is what he said: 6.) What are the Guru's beliefs on Pilgrimages etc? I do not make pilgrimages to Mecca, nor do I worship at Hindu sacred shrines. I serve the One Lord, and not any other. ||2|| I do not perform Hindu worship services, nor do I offer the Muslim prayers. I have taken the One Formless Lord into my heart; I humbly worship Him there. ||3|| (Guru Granth Sahib Ji, Ang 1136) 7.) Guru Nanak Dev Ji only went to Mecca didn't he? No he also went to Hindu and Buddhist places of worship as well, and now there is proof of evangelical places and places of other primitive belief's centre of worship. Now if he was a muslim this would have been forbidden to him. Heres another interesting point that Guru Ji also slept with his feet pointing towards Kabba. If he was a true muslim why would he do this? 8.) What was the book that Guru Nanak Dev Ji was carrying with him? When the qazis and mullahs had fallen at Guru Ji's feet they asked him to tell them something from his book. Now if this book was the Koran why would they ask in the first place? As they too would have had Korans. And why would they call it just a "book." Why not Koran? 9.) What was the Guru's reply to who was better Hindu or muslim? Guru Ji replied without good deeds, actions both are invaild in the house of God religion-wise. Now if he was muslim he would have said a muslim is better, not a Hindu. 10.) Proof of Guru Ji's rejecting of Koranic teachings? This was in Bagdhad, Iraq. Pir Dastagir told Guru Ji that the Koran said that there were seven heavens and hells. Guru Ji however writes in Japji Sahib: "Patala Patal Lakh. Agasa Agas." There are 100,000s of heavens, hells and dimensions. Again another different ideology from Islam.

  43. good for her...im glad she has the strength and wish her all the best...but my opinion is based on the fact a line between two genders is being broken...men being more feminine and women being more masculine... the problem arises when these singhnis having a holier than thou attitude..treating all those who choose not to keep their kes are not at their level...and you cant deny it doesnt happen...

  44. I see what N30S1NGH means that you can't apply what Sant Jarnail Singh Khalsa Bhindranwale said in all cases such as this one. This man is clearly not in his right mind and knows what he is doing is wrong, but is stuck in a vicious cycle of drug/substance abuse. It's actually sad. What Sant Jarnail Singh Khalsa Bhindranwale meant was people like phoola and black cats and people who intentionally are doing what they're doing like a lot of the people who use Amrit to take seats and then eat KFC meat, drink alcohol and overall don't follow rehit (again I could be wrong), but I'm acknowledging this perspective. My advice to you KhalistaniGunMan, as a brother, quit getting so defensive and attacking Taksal because in their own right they are doing what they think is right. Don't be a part of the opposite end, find middle ground and bridge it. Don't get so hot blooded and think they're attacking Nihang Singhs. Believe me bro, if they were, everyone would be against it. The approach was wrong mixed with the media perhaps, but everyone can make mistakes and to keep it against anyone for no reason is a bad thing.

  45. I think the videos above should be taken off from youtube. Good intentions to do panthic seva is just not good enough these days, bibek buddhi is must as well. Reminds me of a story of servant doing seva of king. Servant job was to ensure there was no fly near the king so what did he do? In good intentions he ended up taking sword out (went extreme length to keep the fly away), so what happened next? Well he did killed the fly but also ended up the hurting the king as well. I am sure you can relate the above story with this event some what..!!

  46. Young Singh Ji, Both Buddhism and sikhi are great dharams but you are born a sikh and your family are into sikhi. It would be best if you learnt more about sikhi.. Have you read the sri guru granth sahib jee? Please do not rush; read and try to understand what sikhi is about. Daas would recommend the videos above about bhai mani singh and he does well talking about great aspects of sikhi. Daas says this with great respect the comparisons he does about other religions is occasionally inaccurate - so please take those comparisons as a pinch of salt (you can search why by using Google and reading books but I do not want to correct him as he is not here to defend himself). All in all it is a lovely katha and it is in English! Please forgive daas for any mistakes. Satguru mehar karan Daas Consciousness

  47. Anyone read the book yet? What's the context of the use of the Sikh family? It seems Rowling has tried to do a good thing but some of our people simply haven't a clue. They probably want the Sikh family in the book to ride around on horses, shouting jakaare and save the day, and then have everyone else in the book convert to Sikhi and live happily ever after. Decent literature is complex, it isn't easy or comfortable at the best of times. Characters need to challenge the reader; sometimes they have to be written in a way which best conveys the intention of the author to make an argument which supports their themes, plot, etc. It doesn't mean every single person in the real world who shares the religion or background of such a character is the same. Rowling talks about the positives of the Sikh faith in terms of gender equality, etc.; God forbid she encounters certain sections of this website. A few hours reading about how some modern-day practitioners of Sikhi differ from the untouchable, pure theory it is SUPPOSED to represent I reckon she'd regret including anything Sikh-related in her book. Again, we seem to be going the way of the stereotypical, irate mullah whenever something like this crops up. The conspiracy theorist in me thinks even the Akal Takhat jathedars are leant upon to make statements on such trivial issues to give Sikhs a bad name in the western world. Yet whenever occurs something which gravely affects the core of Sikhi and Sikh sentiments then it takes them days to utter a word.

  48. Why are you asking who'd marry one of us? I think we all know the answer so stop shoving it in our faces. We bibiya are completely aware of the hypocrisy of Singhs, but we place our trust in Maharaj- if He wants to find a high avastha Singh for me to marry, then He will. It's as simple as that. OP. The bhagti suggestion is quite insulting. Hirsutism is not a disease as you make it sound, and bhagti doesnt just cause internal changes unless Vaheguru so wills. You make things sound so simple. I have PCOS. I eat healthy, I'm skinny and I exercise. Still I have excess testosterone levels which have caused facial hair; PCOS is unpredictable and your hormone levels can fluctuate throughout your life for unknown reasons. I may take medicine for it, BUT the medicines DO NOT "treat the cause" as you said- you're oversimplifying everything. They will in most cases suppress the symptoms of pcos only. Ultimately, if a bibi is happy without such medication then that's FINE, its her choice. We do not need to be treated like some diseased beings who need the whole panth's help, or even their opinions.

  49. Satnaam Ji, I used to ask the same questions a while back. Gurbani says ego causes illusion of being seperate to god and that god exists on the inside and outside of us..i.e. he's everywhere and is everything Gurbani says if you want to find and experience god and know who/what you really are you must look within a(n)thar vasath moorraa baahar bhaalae || Deep within the self is the secret, but the fool looks for it outside. 117 so Guru Ji says look within if you want all your answers how do we look within? gurbani says "prabh ka Simran sabh to ucha" i.e Simran is the highest action/seva we can do. Start your simran...you'll get your answer to this question.... for me i can now say "god is more personal that any other relationship we have in this creation" When we pray....we are talking to god When we do Simran....we are listening to him suniai saraa gunaa kae gaah || Listening-dive deep into the ocean of virtue. 3 suniai laagai sehaj dhhiaan || Listening-intuitively grasp the essence of meditation.3 close your eyes...listen to your mind chattering...learn to ignore it...then listen to yourself within. John 1:1 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God" gurbani: guramukh dhhiaan sehaj dhhun oupajai sach naam chith laaeiaa || The Gurmukh meditates on the Lord; the celestial sound-current resounds within him, and he focuses his consciousness on the True Name.512 This sound current exists within us all...the inner guru/shabad but we are so attached to the outer world we cannot hear it....thats where simran comes in. guru Ji's instruction above "celestial sound resounds within, and he focusses his consciousness on it" jis dhaa jeeo paraan hai a(n)thar joth apaaraa || The Divine Light of the Infinite Lord, who owns the soul and the breath of life, is deep within the inner being. becomes an explorer of your inner self

  50. A few interesting observations, this was taken from a rightwing hindu blog page. Typical Prat ! Lets see if you spot the typical hindu mentality that got me vexed ! Indira Gandhi s Muslim Roots By: The Truth Detector In order to commence the story of Indira Priyadarshini Nehru, the so called daughter of the philandering Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru (Nehr means nullah or a large drain, in Persian), let us quote from K.N. Rao's THE NEHRU DYNASTY, page 20. There he writes - "All biographies of Nehru by the dynasty-worshippers fall into a pre-conceived pattern, which is on the following lines: 1. Skip the early years of Nehru, making no reference to the house he was born in (for the reader's information, he was born in a brothel house at Mir Ganj, the red light district of Allahabad); come straight to the year 1900 when Nehru was eleven years old... 2. How was Anand Bhawan acquired or purchased or got as a gift from the Raja of Amethi, must remain uninvestigated... 3. No reference to be made why the strange marriage between unsophisticated Kamala Kaul and Jawaharlal Nehru, the Westerner, took place. How and why was this decision taken at all?... 4. Was Kamala ill-treated? Skip over it..." K.N. Rao goes on to write: "...but the truth is still suppressed." The truth of the matter is that the poor Kamala was persecuted by the brother (Kamala's husband) Jawahar, and his two spoilt sisters, Nan (who later became Vijayalakshmi after the elopement with her father's Moslem employee, Syed Hussain) and Krishna, who later became Mrs. Hutheesing. Kamala had a lonely life. The profligate Pandit Jawahar (so called Pandit; he never ever wore the yagnopaveet) did not consummate his marriage with Kamala. The one and only sympathizer that Kamala had was the son of Motilal's employer Mobarak Ali. Mobarak's son Manzoor Ali was a good man, trained in England. And eventually, Manzoor fathered Indira. Thus strictly speaking Indira was NOT Jawahar's daughter at all. She was Kamala's baby. This secret came out in a father to daughter conversation which was overheard by a Moslem lawyer, Mobarak Mazdoor, from his office next to the one occupied by Jawahar. The occasion was Indira's plan to leave India and settle abroad. Nehru was incensed. Indira was very much in love with Feroze Khan, son of Nawab Khan, the Moslem family grocer. Feroze sympathized with Indira who too had been practically abandoned by the aunts; the mother was eternally sick, and the widowed father was always chasing all kinds of women, breeding bastards. Her education was neglected. She was admitted in Oxford but driven out from there for non-performance. She was then admitted in Tagore's Shantiniketan but was chased out from there too for bad conduct. She had no proper education and was brought up almost as an orphan. Indira was fully conscious of her half-Islamic parentage. Against Kamala's wishes, she married Feroze, whose own mother was a converted Parsi woman married to Nawab Khan. As soon as they got married in England, the old crow, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi ordered Jawahar to force the bride and the bridegroom to change the name Khan, by an affidavit, to Ghandy, a Parsi sounding name. But the not so intelligent grocer's boy got the name changed to Gandhi instead; since then India had in its destiny a half-mussalmani to become its PM for many years under a false name and to promote the cause of Islam. No doubt, Gandhi's own Islamic roots contributed to this tragedy! It became necessary for Indira to hide her true identity. To fool the people of India, she started wearing tilaks, began visiting temples (which is taboo in Islam) and so on. But not every one was fooled; she was denied entry into the Jagannath Temple. A veritable storm was raised by the secularists in India but Indira herself put a stop to the acrimony for fear of having to divulge more of her family secrets. Later, Nepal's famous Pashupatinath (Shiva) Temple denied Rajiv's entry there which apparently had infuriated this man with only one grandfather. No one ever mentions Rajiv's other (the paternal) grandfather's name. Even now, when asked, people are told that Rajiv's grandfather was Nehru and no one is any the wiser about the name of his father's father! Soon after the first wedding, the wily Jawahar arranged another marriage for Indira, a Vedic wedding. People were told that Feroze had become a Hindu, left his Parsi faith and then married Indira. This was a hoax of course and many knew that but out of courtesy, no one pressed the subject any further. Such false good manners are ruining the country today! Indira, although born of a Moslem father, had no Islamic upbringing as such. She started her initiation in Islamic matters after her wedding with Feroze Khan (aka Gandhi). Ayub Khan of Pakistan lent her a hand in the matter of eliminating Lal Bahadur Shastri by putting poison in Shastri's milk. The poisoning was done by the erstwhile Moslem butler of Abul Kalam Azad. A GOI employee, this man fled to Pakistan after the poisoning. Indira sent him his pension money in Pakistan till the last day he lived. Just before the East Pakistan troubles broke, Pakistan's Yahya Khan started sending his troops, all 100,000 of them, via Sri Lanka. Even the biggest fool knew that these were Moslem ruffians, fornication-prone Islamic jihadi soldiers, being transferred under the false identity of civilians. Indira could easily have stopped the transfer and saved the lives of millions of Bengali Hindus by just picking up the phone and telling the Catholic PM of Sri Lanka with a Buddhist name, Bandarnaike, that such transfer had to stop. But she did nothing. Wouldn't she love to see the kafirs die! Indira let Pakistan send its arms and men in full and the slaughter started. She still did nothing. She was giving it back to the people of Tagore who had shown her the door from Shantiniketan! And then when some three million were slaughtered, 300,000 Hindu women raped by Moslem bastards, and the country was flooded with refugees, Indira had to move. But she took precautions that the glory of defeating Pakistan should not go to our Sikh Generals. She leap-frogged a Parsi man called Manek Shaw and made him the Field Marshal of the Indian army. A Bania was made to rule over the Kshatriyas! Has any one ever heard of a Parsi (the relatives of the Tatas, the Naorojis or even the Mehtas) wield a gun? But there she was, taking full credit for the defeat of Pakistan and the capture of its 93,000 ruffians, who could fornicate but not fire, who could rape but not retaliate. But then, Indira, just like the old Gandhi had released Suhrawardy of undivided Bengal after the great Calcutta killing, unconditionally released the 93,000 Pakistanis, after having fed and fattened them in our country, paid them their salaries during imprisonment in accordance with the Geneva Convention, having provided them with the Korans, etc. while our own soldiers captured by Pakistan on the western front were summarily executed in captivity. In her personal life, the Moslem husband, Feroze started showing his natural propensities. How can a leopard change his spots? Soon after Rajiv was born, Feroze started running after wild women. The inevitable happened. All relations beween Feroze and Indira froze. Sanjiv (aka Sanjay) was not yet born but Indira, perhaps to pay back Feroze in his own coin, started a love affair with Mohammed Yunus, a family friend, who had lived in the Anand Bhavan, for many years. Eventually, Sanjiv was fathered by Yunus. Yunus still keeps custody of the Netaji papers which Nehru had asked Yunus to do, instead of assigning all these papers to the national archives. Nehru had a lot to hide to insure that the Indian people never came to know what really happened with Netaji! Those who paid attention have certainly noticed how cleverly Indira used to dress up as a mussalmani, hijab and all, whenever she visited Islamic countries. She was once invited by Saudi Arabia (which is no stranger to the inside information about Indira) to attend an Islamic exhibition that was being held at the Smithsonian in Washington D.C. That afternoon, Indira was to have addressed a mammoth gathering of Indian citizens in the tri-state area of New York, New Jersey and Connecticut. Some 50,000 people came to hear her but she was no where to be found. Where was she? No one apparently knew. Only later on, several days later, it transpired that she had helicoptered in a Saudi engaged plane to attend the Islamic exhibition at the Smithsonian leaving her own countrymen in the lurch. Earlier al-Arabiyya al-Saudiyya had invited Indira to visit the Kaaba at Mecca. Can one believe that? And that is not all. Indira Khan saw to it that all Hindu organizations were under her thumb. She started with the prestigious Rama Krishna Mission. Played hot and cold with its spineless Head of the Institution, one Swami Ranganthananda. Once under her thumb, Swami R was covered with money and other favors such as world tours. And behold! Swami Vivekananda's Rama Krishna Mission was reduced to a stinking secular institution of meat balls! Other Hindu temple organizations followed suit and started the heinous 'Sarva Dharma Sama-Bhava' chantings to the utter detriment of the Hindu society. Indira could never swallow the glorious victory attained by Jagjit Singh Arora and Arjan Singh. The surrender papers were signed by General Niazi of Pakistan. Manek Shaw was no where to be seen. Bangladesh was permitted to go its Islamic way. Indira took her revenge by attacking the Hari Mandir Sahib Temple in Amritsar and creating a feud between the Hindus and the Sikhs, the fighting arm of the Hindus. And for this folly, she had to pay with her life. The wily woman, brought up as a common waif, clever enough to use honest people, either killing them for money (as in the case of Nagarwalla) or poisoning them to open up political avenues for herself (as in the case of Lal Bahadur Shastri), who had been compared with Hindus' Goddess Durga by mentally handicapped sycophants like Vajpayee, finally was reduced to a lump of bullet-ridden meat! This is sure to happen in this dharma-rajya of Bharat, sooner or later to all those that detract from the path of dharma. The entire evil dynasty is at a dead end! What a shame that efforts are now being made to introduce a common Italian kitchen maid as the new Bharat-Mata! No doubt, the retribution for that sin is going to be bloodier!
