  1. Muslims also do the same thing and constantly insult other people's religion but hindus dont understand that they got that oil money and india is a poor country with a large population living in other countries and therefore has no power to do things like these to Christians and muslims unlike israel.

  2. I wonder if it relates to music with lyrics. What if it is music with no lyrics with only instruments. Music does have a way of impacting mood and energy. I wonder if it has to do with the frequencies that the vibrations give off?

  3. Some positive winds of change. Some highlights: Call made for Sikhs to start up firing ranges and get acquisition and training in firearms. Pinds need to halt the contruction of churches and mosques Parchariks and panthic sampardais need to leave their comfort zones and restart parchar in pinds in the face of aggressive christian campaigns jawarhar lal nehru was blamed for betrayal and denial of our raaj Sikhs have a right to seek raaj And some other points were made. Jathedaar also pointed out that the 'caging in' of sangat this year by heavy deployment of security forces is unprecedented in recent times and will not go unnoticed. All in all, this is positive news that the decimation of Badal Dal has prompted a pivot in favor of facing some real issues. The SGPC just a few years back was flat out rejecting that whole scale conversions were turning Gurdaspur and all of border areas into Christian strongholds. Im glad they have summoned enough courage to include mushrooming mosques in the list.

  4. There is bound to be plenty of chaos in the near future of India. I don't think the majority of our kaum is going to get to a more matured civilizational point anytime soon. We will have to work with what little we can muster up. It's starting to hit the fan over there I'm sensing. Panic is brewing for what is to come.

  5. Good call but there needs to be a very clear dharmic / religious sentiment that underpins it otherwise you'll get hyper Sikhs with guns resorting to bullets to sort out domestic issues instead of looking beyond their personal, petty conflicts, which is the culture that the likes of Moosewala are perpetuating. With a cognitively limited group such as ours, leaving things to interpretation is not sensible. I'm surprised this was even identified as a problem, especially mosques. It's the first step.

  7. It's not just about development. Our circumstances are really really bad . No country and being attacked everywhere. I mean just look at our history from 1500 onwards just fighting fighting fighting for our life. The small time of peace we had we were able to establish a well functioning kingdom with education way better than Britain of the time but then again we lost it. We also had Islamic invasions for like 1000 years. If a group is constantly involved in struggling for their survival I dont think it is easy to develop. Do you fight for your land your rights your future generation or do you try to build civilization it's easier said than done to say build this build that. I mean Hindus got a country now with full govt backing so why is India only declining. Going to other countries and working in their companies for high paying jobs is not progress or development. You are only contributing to their growth not your own homeland.

  8. Hate to bring this up but it seems we are living a world where the white skin is placed on a pedestal. It likes we have reached a point where these folks are oblivious to whats around them. They are so use to their ways that any little disturbance can bring out the worst from them. Look at Saddam or Gadaffi. Saddam was a bit stupid for taking on powerhouse like the US but Gadaffi had a real point. He was much wiser and his intentions were not all bad. Infact his goal to was unite the middle easte and East Africa under one currency but eventually was labeled as the bad guy was taken down. Its even scarier for us Sikhs especially for us not having our own country. 1984 was a true wake up call for us to let us know that our scriptures are trying to be altered. We have alot of so called 'snakes' within our community which is primarily due to established governments.

  11. oya jatta, go back to pakastan and take your bodda with you! =D Is there a racism problem for sikhs and in schools? I was surprised with one of those freshie viral youtube channels where the family lives in Australia, and father wears pagh and the son has a haircut and has a warrior name like Tegh Singh. So is there a big racism problem like the uk sikh immigrants used to face decades back, from goray and schoolkids? alot of weddings I go to seems like some kind of kenya sikh is on the dholi team, can tell from the pagh. Also there are tarkhan background producers in the uk. I remember the tram beard was a big thing for takhans in the 2000s punjabi music industry! Don't worry we they will get the pakstani jattas and pak punjabis to join in! Have you seen some of the pakistani weddings on tiktok, some of them are mad when doing bhangra, look a proper joke when doing it though so embarrassing..

  12. I was ill for the past few weeks, with some flu or cold (checked for covid but not positive). For some reason, some illnesses make it easier for me to wake up, others make it hard. Actually some days this illness made me wake up early and other days it made me sleep very long!!! Also, I have always found it easier to wake up early when in Punjab/India. I don't know why I find it more difficult in the uk?!

If it's civilization altering you better hope they don't come after you to steal your idea. Show them you mean business without burning bridges, and you'll get their respect, but always keep your guard up. The 80s unrest was due to scripture tampering? I thought it stemmed from political issues, mainly the Anandpur Resolution.

  22. Absolutely disgraceful. There's no apostrophe in "Jatt's in Canada". No need to use it in a possessive sense. ? Musically, it's eerily reminiscent of 1997-era Coolio, so they're about 20 years behind current music tastes and styles, which for Indians isn't surprising. I really wish young Jatts watching this would laugh and tune it out as Canadian-Sikh cringe, and not something to aspire to. I hope so.

  23. Some of our lot helped goray colonise other lands, don't forget that. Plus we foolishly jumped on the bandwagon of those who are part and parcel of many of the problems some of you are talking about today. If we act like sepoy slaves, it has consequences. That's not to say we deserve our current position. Plus look at how many of our people have been getting down whilst others are making plans and developing their culture, technology and economy. It's seems like a complete lack of vision and planning by some of our own leaders?

  25. It is ਇੱਕ ਓਅੰਕਾਰ. There is no argument about this. The author of this article is spouting a baseless theory which is frankly nonsense, alongside others who have their own baseless views about the ucharan of ੴ. ਓਅੰਕਾਰ is the primal sound. Here is the first few lines of the ਓਅੰਕਾਰ baani with arths from Prof. Sahib Singh.

  29. I think it has to do with city life and media and immigration. We used to live in villages where you knew everyone since childhood. And could be disciplined by any elder (takes a village to raise kids etc) All the oldies say that boys and girls used to play together till seventeen eighteen, no bad thoughts anywhere. But moving to cities and the media have changed the dynamic on how to relate to ppl and no elders to pass on dharmic values. And most indian cities have immigrants from all over. And i think the rurals have the wrong image of city women and are probably frustrated that their Moving to the Big City dream hasnt materialized. This is not only an indian problem. Most ppl in the west say the same, that they used to play outside and roam anywhere in the small towns. But once different ethnicites moves in, the unity of a city, the trust in the neighbors disappears. Also, statistically, i think rape is less in india than in western countries thats why it makes the news so mucb. But this whole gang rape thing does seem to be prevalent in the Middle Asia only( middle east counties plus india). Europeans were shocked by it when the 'refugees' moved in. I think its cuz only in crowds can they forget that what their doing is wrong, and they need the mob madness to get over their inhibitions. So in a way, prevalence of gang rapes over rapes in a society shows that it isnt that dangerous/fallen?

  30. If you look at DG from a wider perspective, you might see it differently. You have to avoid literalism. If Guru ji were of this ancestry (that's if you take the narrative in literal terms), it just underscores their lifelong commitment and message - so if someone purportedly from this (in Indic terms) 'great lineage' could take amrit and make themselves accountable to the sangat - it sort of knocks the bottom out of anyone else clinging onto their caste baggage claiming some sort of superiority. Plus it does serve to instruct us, because as humans it acknowledges familial past, but also, how Guru ji changed it all by introducing Singh as a common surname and then breaking all caste conventions with making people drink out of a common bataa, shows us exactly what they felt about this. A big part of DG (most conspicuous in CP) is all about narratives, adapting them, subverting them, playing with them. You can't start looking at Bachitar Natak with abrahamic style mindset.

  31. It was to get the same rights as jewish people. Judaism is a religion but their ppl are recognized as an ethnicity I never agreed with this but some sikhs (i think it was jagsaw) explained the benefits we could get. Fight for khalistan, less discrimination, mlre protection as a protected class. So i realized even if i dont agree, but there is a benefit to some sikhs somewhere,.then i should support the sikhs fighting for it. Or atleast not sabotage their attempts. In all big families/communities, all will not be on the same page nor same morality/thinking. But to be united means you compromise and see their point of view. Sikhs dont do that, they become righteous and start protesting. And we get nowhere due to inner fighting.

  32. Its due to grammer. Its called vyakaran in gurmukhi. The silent sihaari and aunkard tell is if the object is possessive or plural. Gurmatbibek.com has some articles on this. However taksaal believes you should pronounce every thing. So you would say naaaamuh. Stretch out the first vowel so when u pronounce the second vowel shorten it so it doesnt change the meaning. Like sssssssti. This is called lagu and deerag. They teach this in santhiya. Take santhoya classes.

  33. This 'thing' has been around for decades. I remember someone saying the same thing about murderer KPS Gill (and others) decades ago. Although the name changing thing might be a reality, 'besmirching' someone like this is also a ploy by certain 'proud' casteist people to deflect from the reality that some of their own have been up to dastardly, shameful deeds.

  34. No its a phenomenon in panjab. That low caste ppl adopt high caste last names. So now its a thing in jatt circles to say this name has been totally corrupted or ur guyss last name has been totally converted to low caste or nowadays one cant tell the caste cuz anyone will take any name etc

  35. Nah, you just don't know how to analyse and read it. It's didactic narratives designed to make sense to the reader - not all historically based. A lot of it is based around literacy and explorations and adaptations of literary forms, jungh vidhya, bir raas, social issues, just governance.

  36. The thing that shocks me is that we still get apnay saying all this about Indians like apnay aren't and haven't been doing exactly the same. Let's keep it real. I think our lot are some of THE worse when it comes to that mental slavery you talk about. And I'm sure you know that hordes of apnay/apneean would crawl up a gora's gandh and have contempt for most of his own Sikh brothers/sisters. I mean look at how many apnay fought for blighty when they had other apnay actively trying to free Panjab like the Ghaddarites. I seriously hope apnay don't try and jump on some high horse about Hindus or bahmunhs, and blind themselves to the reality of our own lot. Because if they do, WE are the modern day Hindus. At least them cow-worshippers have built up their country again - our lot are still struggle to mentally break out of some medieval feudal-economy mindset by the looks of it.

  37. Don't you think that was the mental state of most apnay pretty soon after the 'annexation'? I'm still shocked that they helped Brits after Jallianwala Bagh in ww2 - only to be thanked by them with partition.... How off the ball were our lot to let all this happen. This looks like a complete breakdown of ANY sort of adult political astuteness on apnay's part.

  40. It helps me as a religious person to not fall into the God of the Gaps theory. Also to see which mistakes i as a religious person should not make that people of other religions have made. Such as interpreting their scriptures literally. Such as maintaining that God is scientifically provable. I mean the the laws of science are so ephemeral. Newtons laws dont apply at quantum level, quantum mechanics cant apply to macroscopic levels. Time is not absolute. How could God be defined by wat he created? The books also ends on a positive note showing how religion will be needed to solve ethical dilemmas created by science. And how science's pinnacle AI could be corruot and how humans will be betrayed by it. Also it helps us prepare that if one day evolution is proven, life can be created from nothing, how and why to continue believing in our scriptures.

  48. One thing I hope we all have learned is that if this mocking was done to Sikh faith we will NOT act this way.besides being cruel n killing innocents It is not effective n has more ppl digging up the cartoon.also it will ruin the life of the revengers n the Sikh ppl will have to face backlash.Rotting in jail, running or dead, will be there lot. While the Sikh nation has to bow head in shame or deny. YES We SHUD STOP it. But not by using drastic measures that it does not warrent. Yes we follow Gur Ki Ninda Sunai Na Kaan. And protests are not a suitable answer: we call attention to it which is the last thing we want, we popularize the cartoon and by protesting we are demanding others do something: the magazine n ppl who had no care when publishing it OR common ppl on the streets who don't care or understand. Also it makes us seem whiny intolerant ppl. We may have intolerance to hearing our gurus ninda but we shud not advertise this...most won't understand n to our enemies we announce a weak point on which they can taunt us So we shud sue magazine it will be quiet affair hopefully ,if we don't make too much noise, n will hurt magazine most n maybe make laws to protect against this in future.N like with the Muslims if we r ignored in courts then...idk but before resorting to 'bhet karo naal kirpan' think: magazine is not person. Yes cartoonist is but he did not 'talk' so we did not listen to nindya. Also it was not personally to u or in front of u but to every Sikh, so response shud not only be ur responsibility n will effect all Sikhs so done carefully. So basically I'm saying use the method that ends the mockery quickest. Because the metaphorical meaning of 'bhet karo sang kirpan' can be end it quickly, shut him up fast. But no violence!! Yes in past we used violence such as suicide bombs which west cant condone or understand But it was against the likes of Beanta a genocide causer. We seem to not take the order to use violence as a last resort only when all means have FAILED, seriously... Reading some comments I'm scared, I don't want another Air India incident that we have to deny n rebut to keep our ithihaas blameless n glorious.

He was like before katha used to be done 3 times a day by knowledgable Sikhs on ithiaas(Sooraj Prakash), gurubani( lardivaar katha), and Das granth ( I think). And now he said patits are the pardhaan of the gurudware.n he goes on about our foolishness. Ive been trying to find this video of Maskeen Ji but cant, if anyone knows it please paste it.
