So here goes. I am a girl and I wear a dastaar. Therefore I normally never have my hair out. On Saturday I had washed my hair and I was walking around my flat when my friend was like STOOOOOOOP! I was like whaaaaaaaaat? Then she was like you have a WHITE HAIR. I was like no I don't. This went on for a bit. She finally took me to a mirror so I could see for myself. I saw my first white hair. I never felt so sad. Its tiny, on the front of my head and its only one strand. She told me not to worry cos she has a white hair in the exact same position. I rang my sister too who said white hairs come and go. My sister is 16 and had a white hair on her arm. It was weird cos she …

WJKKWJKF, Sadh sangat ji I need a genuine advice on my personal matter.I have been blessed with a baby boy two months back.My husband has been raised by his mother alone as his parents got seperated during his childhood.Since the first day of my marriage I have observed that my husband due to his parents seperation is not a balanced person.I mean he always favors his mother due to which I have suffered a lot.He never shares any important thing of his life with me,it s always his mum who he confides in which upsets me because I have never seen so much secrets between spouses..anyways I tried to change my husband but I couldnt and now I dont even want to .But now my co…

So a rishti wali had given my mother a potential match for me to go a visit, the girl ticks all the boxes in what we are looking for, she is tall, pretty, educated and her family are quite well off. I went to meet her and the family along with my mother, father and two sisters and we thought the family came across nice, the mother of the daughter was a little over bearing but we just put it down to nerves, I had some "alone" time with the girl in the front room and I got to chat a little with her, she seems down to earth and is even more pretty in real life than on the photo, I must admit i do fancy her abit. after the meet up my mother told the girls mum that w…

I have worn a turban alll my life and have hated most of it. I find as though it gets in the way of my every day life such when playing sports it tends to fall off my head and if I do have it tight on my head I tend to feel dizzy and in unable to play team sports properly such as rugby and football which makes my teammates very pissed with me and has also led my to failing to get onto the school team. I live in community in which I have people pointing and staring at me ,and calling me names like "rag head" or sly comments like "I have your head gets better" or even when I wear my patka people on the street call me "pirate". I am suffering from depression and social anxi…

So why don't Sikh brides cover their heads? they normally have their buns covered but not their heads. whats the reason behind this? if i walked into gurdwara with my patka slipping and hanging of my bun i would probably get death stares, People would probably feel like tossing me out of the window. But why do Sikh brides get away with it? a few years back during the summer i wore a cap to the gurdwara, i soon had 5 singhs standing behind me not looking very amused. i was told to take it off and wear a ramal. why the double F,ing standards? heres a quick google search., Why were none of these women dragged out or told to cover their heads before guru gra…

Dear all, Before you read this please do not just tar it with the same brush and say go and do a search on the subject, I really want you to try and understand my situation I am 25 year old amritdhari woman and I am in despair over my facial hair, to set the record straight I would like to point out that it is not your ‘average’ amount of rom as in the soft hair that covers our bodies from head to toe, my facial hair is thick and coarse and ranges from 3-4cm the shortest to about 6-7 cm the longest. I have recently completed my masters degree at university with a good result and now I am looking for work after having several interviews I have been tuned down for posts a…
