  2. Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Ji There are lot of queries from forum members and anonymous sangat asking for help as per sikhi view point and want to clear the doubts they have. Isn't it better we ask the questions we have directly to Satguru Sri Guru Granth Sahib? They answer to every question ! The vidhi is to have kesi ishnaan and after doing paath of Japji or 5 Chaupai Sahib, do ardas and take Hukam Nama. The Hukam Nama will be your answer and if one has difficulty in interpreting what Satguru ji tells us, we can discuss it on this forum and I am sure there are many Gursikhs which can help them explaining the Hukam Nama Sahib in the best way or at least so that he/she can understand the answer he/she was searching for.

  5. I hesitated many times in telling all this and putting it together so the op BETTER read it to master something one must know it...experienced it....to master kaam you must try to udnerstand it, a man forgets someones voice after a certain amount of time, love for one dies sometimes over time, the human is dying every second, everyday we are not only growing bigger we are also growing smaller, perishing, fading away, kaal will eat us, first kaal turns its face toward birth then once it has given birth it turns its face toward death, but let me tell u, a human dies kaam never dies..kaam will cause another birth, kaam was in the mind..a man may get old but kaamna never leaves..it has to be understood and if you young person does not fight against it...try to understand it, then sorry to say he will die a kaami.....kaam is your rom rom every part of your body is filled with kaam, kaam is the main shakti, out of kaam comes all life...let me tell you one thing, poison and nectar dwell together in the same place... ਮੈਲਾਗਰ ਬੇਰ੍ਹੇ ਹੈ ਭੁਇਅੰਗਾ ॥ mailaagar baerhae hai bhueiangaa || The snakes encircle the sandalwood trees. ਬਿਖੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਬਸਹਿ ਇਕ ਸੰਗਾ ॥੨॥ bikh anmrith basehi eik sangaa ||2|| Poison and nectar dwell there together. ||2|| (Ang 525, SGGS Ji) Poison and Nectar dwell in the same place together. There is no distance separating poison and Amrit. Or one can say it like this: Jo Amrit hai oh zair ho sakda hai, te jo zair hai oh amrit ho sakda hai. This metaphor can be used to descirbe many truths, events etc in life. What is amrit (nectar) can be turned into zair (poison), and what is poison can be turned into nectar, It the same, but how it is used, some us it as nectur, to some its poison, but how you view it just different. Jo Zehar-e-halaa Hall hai wohi amrit hai naadaan, Maaloom nahi tujh ko yeh hein andaaz peene kay. If one has learnt the art of living, it is amrit otherwise that same life is nothing but poison lets give some examples, grapes, sugarcane, berries, all their juice and the juice of many more is nectur, amrit it is a creation, but when we mix it add other chemicals which are created by the lord it becomes accepted poison for many, and then there are those who don't accept it as such because for them it is their accepted nectur. But just before it was nectur really, the rass in the grapes etc was amrit da rass now its poison. Poison can be turned into nectur, many medicines have rat poison, snake poison, Sankheeya, a type of stone, is essentially a poison but Ayurvedic Vaids destroy it and turn it into something called Kushtaa, a form of medicine that is used to cure hundreds of various ailments. Many cloth contain the rass of Mauriuana plants but those cloth shelter people, at the same time it contains particles from a plant considered poison. Many things in life which once we thought as nectsr or treated as such even if it was a way of looking at things could now be poison now to understand kaam you must first understand the world and understand that jo manukh nu dekhai dinda oh kuch vini te jo soch reya oh vi kuch vini--what we think of the world and see it as is nothing as that is not the reality, much actvity is happening, there is a anhaad naad, vibrations, geet, a light, a prakash jot of waheguru, anhad rass, much is happening that the person can not explain your debh drishti has to open full, your 3rd eye, your eyes have not changed yet..waheguru is in every particle in every cell, rom rom the lord is prevaiding, all the vibrations in your body is the lords voice, the lord has been talking and you never recognized the lord, didnt see the lord, change your eyes slowly slowly you will recognize that ik onkar, nothing else every existed it is all the lord, that one light, he is the enemy, you and me...you really need to read baani and how guru arjun dev ji says that when the persons forgets that there is you and me and there are others then enemity dies and there is only that 1 left....baani begins with ik onkar because that was the whole purpose the only thing that mattered if a hundred saints are sitting together there will be 1 answer, one talk, one truth but if two moorakhs are sitting together there will be two answers, one will say he is right and the other will say he is right (soh sant behte hon te vichar ik hovay ga, sach ik hovay ga, gall iko hovay gi... doh moorakh behte hon te vichar doh hon ge, gallan doh hon giya chagarda domay paseyo hovay ga) thats why its said soh siane (wise ones) iko matt moorakh apo apni........what im saying is understand the lord is the only 1 that exists You are the one who teaches the techniques of Yoga to the Yogis. You clash with the demons and vanquish them. You are the one who drinks from the bowl, the blood of the demons and is a saviour of your devotees. You are the one who dried up the blood of Rakat Beej [a demon]. You reisde in oceans, earth and mountains. You are self-radiant in all matter. You are the one who destroys the evil and takes motherly care of all. You are the plant and you are the flower and you are the gardener who tends to it. You are the nourisher of the universe and your radiance is apparent all over. You are the invisible power, you are infinite and you are the earth and firmament. -Sri Dasam Granth please go to youtuve read and type in akaal ustat sikh prayer ok so once hopefully youve understood waheguru is the atom, the cell, the essence of all learning, waheguru is the essentially shakti which is prakash the essentially air we breathe, guru gobind singh ji says anek hai fir ek hai waheguru is many and at the same time as one waheguru has a sargun saroop, a manifested saroop, the palki sahib, paper etc and physcial manifestation that waheguru manifests into then wahreguru also has a nirgun saroop non manifast the inner invisable shakti we cannot see but waheguru is prakash braajmaan and present....understanding and finding the lord is the purpose of coming on this jaggat and it can happen by reading and listning and vicharing the baani of guru granth sahib, sri dasam granth, sri sarbloh granth....... Je mai sargun de saroop vich dekhda hey akaal purakh teriya hazara akha ne koi ginti nahi, nira jaal kar rahieya ne ''joban ke jaal hou(n) ki kaal hu(n) ke kaal hou(n)-Sri Dasam Granth--har akh teri, tuhi phaard phaard ke vekh reha, par je mai nirgun saroop vich dekhda teri ik vi akh nahi, tu akhan toh bina ah now i want you to listen to this from 28:00 min onward just listin to whole thing, there are 12 parts i think to kirtan sohila katha listen to them all..... maskeen ji says "Waheguru toh ek jot hai, parkash hai, anhaad naad hai viapic hai...Jis din jaggat diya tahmaam awaaja toh dhiaan ik paaseh hunda eh te fir banda ous sunn di awaaj nu sun da eh jeenu akheya jandeya paratma di awaaj, ous nu akheya geya anhaad naad" now hopegully once listining indephtly to that you have realized waheguru is in the vibrations which include the vibrations you feel during your kaami thoughts the only problm came is that when you felt the vibrations, heard them with your ears, (even the deaf can hear the naad)....its the lord speaking, if your drishti oepns more youll start hearing waheguru, everytime you have vibrrations in you thats the lords geet, kushi de geet the lord was always present but the day we opened our eyes coming out of wombs and seeign the jaggs tamasha we forgot it we stopped hearing, and turned our attention completely somewhere else the only way to break kaami thoughts is to turn the kamm rass in naam rass realize, open your third eye and remember the lord, hear him feel wahegurs existance, get your mind out the gutter and reach to the real truth, it was only your dirty thought that used that kaam energy in your body for dirty actions...kaam energy your seema is your energy and it builds with yur jeevan and you must use that energy for better purposes because if its not if your energy isnt fullfilled how you wish it will turn into krodh, and much more, you will start to get angry until it is fullfilled...dont loose this energy by wasting it and masturbating, use it for your spirtual jeevan, reocognize its power, after all its creates life, we need to be mature its the reason why we have all these ppl asking questions cuzz we keep kaam out of our talks and hide thr truth about it.....so everytime you feel vibrations dont think of women etc or dirty thoughts realize the truth and the lord prevading and open your eyes to reality please watch this video for more on convertin kaam rass into naam rass watch all parts to understand now i mentioned amrit (nectar) and zair (posion) dwell together let me expand on that ...guru gobind singh ji says ''khanda prithmai saaj ke'' the lord created the double edged sword now that is a metaphor we is used in everything in life, everything in life is posion and nectar and two ends of a sword...let me expand, life is both sweet, good, but it is also harsh, posion...rang hassay rang rovay.......even kaam is a double edged sword, the vibrations are there, but you can either take the energy the jot and use it for spirtual higher purposes or it can also destroy your life but its one and the same, see the double edged sword, waheguru is the farest but at the same time wahegur is the closest...... Before creating the world God Created a double edged sword this metaphore is what eveything in life is based on. Life it self is also a double edged sword, life is both sweet, nectar, amrit and at the same time it is posion, hard, hurtful. Some people have turned their life and family into a nehark da khaarda a ground of hell and some have turned it into nectar. Something which once was nectar for us amrit could now be posion, ruining us, bad for us and unwanted, but just before it was posion. Everything is in example of double edged sword Guru Gobind Singh Ji writes Khanda Primathe Saaj ke God created the double edged sword before creating the world. A caterpillar all its life eats, eats, eats, indulges its life in maya (maya does not only mean money, maya is a energy existing) without thinking it keeps on eating like crazy until it reaches a point it can't eat anymore. Caterpillars have been called eating monsters, and evntually their eating causes them to shed their skin, when they have eaten too much. After having its skin shed many times the caterpillar then does something different. Some of their ''butterfly'' features inside start to form, arise, and develop. Then the caterpillar goes into a phase change, it goes through deep meditation. It becomes 'chrysalis' is it turns into a hard form, forming a hard case. Although the chrysalis appears to be motionless, inside tremendous activity is taking place. The caterpillar anatomy is being chemically disassembled and reconstructed into the adult butterfly. When the butterfly is ready to hatch out it will release some hormones that soften the chrysalis shell. After a inner changing process the caterpillar after going through a phase of rebirth, redemption, inner change and fighting a battle emerges to become a butterfly. And wherever this butterfly goes, whatever it touches it gives nectar amrit to flowers and whatever it interacts with. Its life becomes nectar, it gives nectar. (see the double edged sword) just once before it was taking, stuck in maya , eating, now it was giving nectar, the caterpillar transformed into a butterfly. And in age in our lives are based around constant in-taking, consumption, we need to become butterflys and can learn something from the journey of even the smallest of creatures the caterpillar. If we don't, the Earth can only give so much, kirpa kari ham par jagg Matta. The shell hardening 'chrysalis' For a spirtual jeevan it is the same to make oneself strong and fight, hor koi chaara nahi, the inner battle must be fought, kaam, lobh, moh, hankaar will never die there were in the mind, instead they will cause a rebirth. kabeer sathgur sooramae baahiaa baan jo ek || Kabeer, the True Guru, the Spiritual Warrior, has shot me with His Arrow. laagath hee bhue gir pariaa paraa karaejae shhaek ||194|| As soon as it struck me, I fell to the ground, with my kaleja (heart) being shaeked ||194 ਕੁੰਡਲਨੀ ਸੁਰਝੀ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਪਰਮਾਨੰਦ ਗੁਰੂ ਮੁਖਿ ਮਚਾ ॥ kunddalanee surajhee sathasangath paramaanandh guroo mukh machaa || The Kundalini rises in the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation; through the Word of the Guru, they enjoy the Lord of Supreme Bliss. (Ang 1402, SGGS Ji) The Bhatts have mentioned Kundalini in Dhan Dhan Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj. This discourse will talk about the meaning of Kundalini and how it is awakened, as explained by Gurbani. Kundalini, also known as the energy of life or the energy of the awakened, lies in a coiled form in the region just below the navel. The name 'Kunalini' comes from the coiled state of this energy. This energy sleeps in a coil just like a snake sleeps wrapped up. Snake Charmers often play 'Been' (a type of wind instrument) to awaken the coiled up snake. The snake 'hears' the sound of the been, wakes and raises its head upwards. The real energy of life is just like such a snake it sleeps in a coil with its head downwards. When this energy is awakened by Jap and Tapp, it rises upwards, penetrates and crosses a row of 6 Chakras, finally reaching the 'Agya Chakra', the supreme state of conciousness and bliss. This Kundalini energy rises with naam rass, Ram rass, and if it starts going downwards, it is because of kaam rass. So, because of kaam rass, flow of life flows downwards, while its upward flow is all due to naam rass. It is this naam rass, the Waheguru Mantra, the Gurbani, that awakens the energy and makes it rise upwards. The first chakra right above the navel is called the 'Mool-Adhaar'. The second chakra above it is the 'Sav-Dishtaan'. Above Sav-Dishtaan chakra, there lies the third chakra called the 'Manipur'. The fourth chakra above it is called 'Aahat-Anaahat' chakra. When the awakned energy reaches the 'Kanth' and crosses it, the chakra at the Kanth is called 'Vishudhh'. And the last chakra out of all the chakras is the 'Agya Chakra'. These chakras can be thought of as the stages in the path of spirituality that the energy must cross in order to reach the supreme state of bliss. There is a strong desire in human beings to achieve that supreme bliss. However, there is rass downwards, and there is rass upwards there is rass for the form; and there is rass for the formless. Just like water flows downwards automatically, human energy also automatically flows downwards. One does not need any motivation to become arrogant, greedy, kaami, dishonest; it happens automatically. But, efforts are required if one has the desire to be honest, content, patient, etc. Just as pressure needs to be applied to water to make it rise upwards, similarly certain 'pressure' is mandatory to make one rise from the base, and that sole pressure is Jap. Guruji describes it as: ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਗੁਰੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਸੋਇਆ ਮਨੁ ਜਾਗਾਈ ॥੨੩॥ simar simar simar gur apunaa soeiaa man jaagaaee ||23|| Remembering, remembering, remembering my Guru in meditation, my sleeping mind is awakened. ||23|| (Ang 758, SGGS Ji) From ages, our life energy has been sleeping. One often spends the entire lifetime sleeping in this slumber. When this energy rises up with the efforts of Jap, the desire of kaam is destroyed; one does not find pleasures in kaam rass anymore. This is because kaam rass lies below the energy base, while the energy has already risen above its base. Thus, kaam rass is destroyed when the energy rises up. But even though desires of kaam get destroyed, the energy has not reached the supreme state of bliss. Those individuals, whose energy has not even risen from its base, the observation is that their kaami desires do not get diminished even after reaching a ripe old age. ਪੁੰਡਰ ਕੇਸ ਕੁਸਮ ਤੇ ਧਉਲੇ ਸਪਤ ਪਾਤਾਲ ਕੀ ਬਾਣੀ ॥ punddar kaes kusam thae dhhoulae sapath paathaal kee baanee || Your hair is whiter than the jasmine flower, and your voice has grown feeble, as if it comes from the seventh underworld. ਲੋਚਨ ਸ੍ਰਮਹਿ ਬੁਧਿ ਬਲ ਨਾਠੀ ਤਾ ਕਾਮੁ ਪਵਸਿ ਮਾਧਾਣੀ ॥ lochan sramehi budhh bal naathee thaa kaam pavas maadhhaanee || Your eyes water, and your intellect and strength have left you; but still, your sexual desire churns and drives you on. (Ang 93, SGGS Ji) Bhagat Trilochan Ji says that even at the old age, where have have turned white, eyes cannot see properly, the voice shakes with weakness, the desires of kaam keep churning in the empty, dry pot. There is only way to escape this desire, and that way is Jap. If the energy goes down, it gives birth to human form; it it rises up, it gives birth to the formless within. If the energy goes down, it ends the human in dust; if it rises up, it merges the soul with Akal Purakh. A Person that has no desire for kaam left in him and finds no attraction in the physical form shows clear signs of the risen energy. ਰੂਪੈ ਕਾਮੈ ਦੋਸਤੀ ਭੁਖੈ ਸਾਦੈ ਗੰਢੁ ॥ roopai kaamai dhosathee bhukhai saadhai gandt || Beauty and sexual desire are friends; hunger and tasty food are tied together. (Ang 1288, SGGS Ji) That person will see the formless in all humanity and nature he will savour Akal Purakh in all the exreme objects of beauty. Otherwise, there is only the world of desires below the base of the energy. If one has not been able to rise up from the base, then even the visits and prayers said at religious places is solely to get worldly desires fulfilled. It is often observed that people sitting at the religious places are busy praying to that effect. Therefore, anyone who lives in a world of desires (kaamna) is a kaami. ਤੁਮ ਕਹੀਅਤ ਹੌ ਜਗਤ ਗੁਰ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥ thum keheeath ha jagath gur suaamee || You are called the Lord and Master, the Guru of the World. ਹਮ ਕਹੀਅਤ ਕਲਿਜੁਗ ਕੇ ਕਾਮੀ ॥੧॥ ham keheeath kalijug kae kaamee ||1|| I am called a lustful being of the Dark Age of Kali Yuga. ||1|| (Ang 710, SGGS Ji)

  13. A dedicated Sikh religious channel is all set for launch in January, BizAsia can reveal. The channel formerly known as Sikh TV, will come back as Akal TV at the end of January. Details of Akal TV are being kept underwraps due to competition from the existing two Sikh television services including Sikh Channel and Sangat TV – both on the Sky Digital platform. Akal TV plans to broadcast Sikh religious and documentaries, with live Akhand Paths from various Gurdwaras in the UK. The channel is based in Birmingham. The management of Akal TV is different to that of Sikh TV. Akal TV will be a free-to-air channel, available on Sky Digital from Monday 28th January. http://www.media247.co.uk/bizasia/new-sikh-tv-channel-launching-in-january'>http://www.media247.co.uk/bizasia/new-sikh-tv-channel-launching-in-january

  14. I have someone close to me whose an amritdhari but he has massive anger problems. If he cannot follow rehat he blows his top, if something goes wrong he goes hulk. Yesterday something in his personal life went wrong and he said very offensive words to the Guru. He broke Rehat 4 times. In anger he ripped off his dastaar, abused Guru etc. Hes now beginning to regret it but slowly. Hes still crying over the personal incident. What should he do? His anger is destroying him and I want to help.Does he have to go to panj Singhs and tell them what hes done? He is scared now. And how does he get rid of his anger?

  21. There are two slates running, the Sikh Youth Slate (http://votesikhyouth.ca/) and the Moderate Slate (http://bcmss.org/Home.html). The Sikh youth first won the election in 2008 but the Moderates led by Balwant Gill didn't want to lose power so they took the youth to court over some errors in paperwork. So another election was called in 2009, which a new Sikh Youth Slate (but still supported by the old one) won by 2/3 of the votes. There was overwhelming support for the Sikh Youth. The day of the elections in 2009 many kids with huge signs reading: Vote for our Future, Vote For Sikh Youth stood outside in the rain all day long. Many Kattar(strict) moderates called into the radio after and during the election and said that these kids have melted our hearts, when we had left home we had planned to vote for the Moderates but when we saw the kids standing in the rain and cold weather asking us to look at their future it hit our hearts. We were acting out of ego voting for the moderates just because of some petty issues like tables and chairs, we realized that Youth were the future and we need to protect our future so we voted for the Sikh Youth. This years election: It is a different Sikh Youth slate but it has the support of the old slate and there are 3 members from the old slate on the new slate. The president on the new slate was the Treasurer on the previous slate. The Sikh Youth have done a lot to improve the Gurdwara Sahib and the community. They have had many Smagams, seminars, camps, weekend programs etc. There have been many many amrit sanchars. When the moderates were in power for 13 years there was not even ONE AMRIT SANCHAR!! For a list of what the Sikh youth have done go to: http://www.gurunanakgurdwara.ca/cat_1/2010-2012-gnsg-program-recap I can go on and on about what the good the youth have done and what the moderates did (basically nothing) while they were in power. But that will be pointless. The moderates run on the platform of putting tables and chairs back in the langar hall, and putting thapars for those wanting to eat on the ground. The youth took away the tables and chairs but left some on the sides for the elderly and those that have physical problems. They also have some other points, most of which are good things, like making a gym, cleaning the gurdwara, following Akal Takhat Maryada etc. But the Youth is already doing all of these. The Youth already follow Akal Takhat Maryada. The youth is already doing construction and a gym is part of the plan. The Sikh Youth have done so much in the past 3 years. It can't all be counted. I'll give my personal experience. I helped out with the Sikh Youth since the beginning From the first elections till now. Politics will always happen, but these guys are truly dedicated to doing parchar of Sikhi and Gurmat. Three main camps are held every year for kids. I've been lucky enough to do seva in every single one of them. Hundreds of kids come to these camps, they learn about Gurmat, they meet other Gursikh kids their age and they get to eat nice food and play games. How else do we keep kids away from gangs and drugs? Join them to the the religion and community. When they have good sangat they won't go to drugs and gangs. One of the biggest accomplishments of the Sikh Youth is the Sunday Youth Darbar. This is one of the best programs ever to run in a Gurdwara. Both parents and the children come into the darbar and a little bit keertan, simran and katha in english is done. The darbar gets so packed that there isnt a place to sit when these darbars happen. I can speak from personal experience here again, my neighbors who are not into Sikhi at all and are the kind of family you wouldnt expect at the gurdwara go to these programs every week. My other neighbours who are radhasoamis also started going to these programs. Its not just the kids the parents come as well, and they learn as well. There can be no mehma done of the Sikh Youth. They've brought the entire community together. This is a BIG Gurdwara and it has lots of media attention. Whenever something big happens in the world the media looks towards this Gurdwara for a statement, for a program. When tragedy in Haiti happened the entire community got together with the Gurdwara and raised money and sent sevadaars to Haiti. When the shooting at the Gurdwara in wisconsin happened the Gurdwara Sahib did collective simran and an Ardas for the victims, and raised money. The media all came to the Gurdwara that day. This Gurdwara is the centre of the Community. There are other Gurdwarai in the Surrey area, but this is the oldest and biggest and the one everyone looks to whenever something happens. If the Sikh Youth lose this election the Gurdwara will fall from the Panths hands. So everyone in the Surrey area that is a member of the Gurdwara Sahib, don't be lazy, don't be worried about the cold and rain (and snow as it just started snowing here but who knows how long that will last) and go out VOTE FOR THE SIKH YOUTH!!

  24. Are SIkhi camps achieving anything for youngsters? I have been looking in on sikhi camps for young kids for a while now, and feel that for the cost of the camp, the intensity, and duration of the camps, be they one day, 2 day or 3 day, are not achieving much, beyond those days. If you were to ask a camper, 1 week/1 month after the camp, what they learnt, what do you think the answer would be? Is this still a way to go, or should we look at alternative methods of teaching gurmat? thoughts?

  25. I can appreciate the argument for "getting at" kids in this way. It gets the numbers up and there's a lot of loyal foot soldiers to be gained from doing so. Muslims do it quite well. But long-term, even on a spiritual basis, I do believe it creates one-dimensional, close-minded, rather dim Sikhs who are perhaps get lost in the broader details rather than appreciating what's really going on underneath the surface. Just my opinion though!

  26. That doesn't make things any clearer. Never heard of the Kooner geezer and this 'famous' sofa factory can't be as famous as you think coz I've never heard of it. The only thing I'd like to know is what side of the fence does Mr Kooner sit on ? Is he generally known in the Midlands as a firm supporter of Sikh rights ? Is he generally known in the Midlands as someone that speaks up for the victims of India's human rights abuses ? If not, then you can bet your bottom dollar that he has been silent because he sits on the other side of the fence. So you see, a headline such as 'New Sikh Channel starting' is meaningless until some basic facts start to emerge. The sangat need the facts in advance so they can assess whether its a good thing or a bad thing. We, as a community, are known for being rather vague when it comes to facts. Here we are on this thread, still none the wiser. We still don't know whether the news is the best thing in the world or the worst thing in the world. We don't know that because nobody here from the Midlands is educating us about Mr Kooner.

  27. I think if we look at grand scheme of things, its part of his hakum/will. Innocent kids/people are dying every single day in this world we just don't hear about them....we don't hear about them does not mean its not happening. Now just because its part of his hakum/will/bhana that should not stop us for being compassionate, heal the word and ask for sarbat da bhalla because that itself is also part of hakum, in fact guru maharaj clearly says (symbolically) this whole world is standing on thread of dya(compassion)- Dhaul Dharam Daya Ka Poot. So yea human natural response should be dya(compassion) in wake of this tragedy but at the same time we also try to understand- grand scheme of things in Kudrat/Vahiguroo Raza/Bhana/will..!! Being caught up too much in understanding hakum/will/karam could take one way from his natural human instinct which is compassion for maharaj's creation/sarbat da bhalla.

  28. I would take that as a no bhajee. Now that winter is here, I have been having porridge 2-3 times a week. I also tried white quinoa (as suggested in another thread) and it tastes fine. I have also had red quinoa which seemed to have a different texture... the white one was more like rice and the red was more like seeds, although perhaps that was down to cooking time. I used to eat steamed veg most days with my meals but I have got bored of that so having more salads and snacking on raw veg, nuts and raisins. I need to go training today, had a couple of days off so should have a good workout. Rice and nutella sandwiches, that sounds horrible.

  29. Remember when I told you a couple of weeks back that you was a "liar, liar with his panties on fire" because you was telling porkies about your affiliation to Nadar nang and his Disneyland akahra! So much for being an independent who doesn't have any agenda. Kully - I think you need to get your backside to specsavers mate! I don't have any affiliation to either of these guys in the video but even stupid old me can see that a little man flipped an fat man over his back after he was left in a compromising position! I am and Internet warrior and proud of it! AND WHAT?? But don't be fooled because I am the the last living joothi vidiya master in the universe and I'm not scared to do what you bibi should have done a long time ago and take my joothiya to your backside ;-)

  32. And does being a Sikh preclude us from learning from mythologies, be they classic or modern? Do tales, myths and stories not have some universal truths contained within them about the human condition and human experience? When Guru Gobind Singh Ji use to regale his warriors with tales of valour from the Mahabharata, did his Singhs use to say "These stories are of no use to us Guru Ji, tell us some stories about only Sikhs and Sikh exploits. We don't want none of that Hindu rubbish distracting us"?

  33. Waheguruji ka khalsa waheguruji ki fateh bhenji. Glad to hear that you've chosen the path of sikhi that many, who're born into sikh families, find difficult. I'm assuming that you must have been attracted towards some aspects or something peculiar must have happened in your life that drew you towards Sikhi. People often ask, like Gurpreet14 bhenji has asked above, how does that happen? The answer is...it's all Karam. You must've had some really good karams that you got Amrit and have been able to adopt Sikhi. Listen to the Katha linked below, bhenji. Baba Hari Singh Randhawe wale have explained how every time one tries to progress spiritually, a bad-karam comes forwards and we have to endure the result of or as we say in Punjabi: Karam bhogna paina. Now how does one erase those Karams? Nishkaam-sewa, Keertan, Satsang are a few of the easier methods. Also, do not take our Nitnem for granted. Sant Giani Kartar Singh Ji Bhindranwale say in his katha that one day's nitnem, washes away Sanchit-Karam (collective deeds) of 100 previous births. On another note, is there anything that makes you sad or depressed? A bad mood doesn't allow one to progress spiritually either. It's often necessary to try and see if there is an underlying issue. Hope I have been of a little help, Bhenji. Take care.

  41. Wherever you japp it to is fine. But if you don't even japp it for 5 mins a day but argue about it on a forum like some sort of panthic scholar then i'll let you decide in your own mind what you are: Option 1 a moorakh Option 2 a moorakh I'm not saying anyone who has posted, is in the above situation only yourselves and mahraj knows but unfortunately there are many youths in this predicament we've got plenty of talkers but no doers. We've got plenty of people that brag about their jathas jugtis etc but hardly any that put these jugtis into practice.

  43. IT IS NOT ABOUT RITUALISM ITS ABOUT ORGANISATION OF AKAAL FAUJ, A PERSON WHO HAS BEEN APPOINTED THE OFFICE OF GENERAL WEARS A FARLA. IF YOU WORE A POLICE MANDS OUTFIT ON THE STREETS U WOULD GET ARRESTED FOR IT, EXCEPT IN THIS CASE YOU WOULD GET BEATINGS! FARLA IS APPOINTED BY THE DHAL WHO HAVE VERY GOOD LEADERSHIP AND BATTLE SKILLS. THIS WAS STARTED BY THE BUDDHA DAL THEREFORE BUDDHA DAL HAS THE RIGHT TO APPOINT FARLA NO ONE ELSE! NO SHUT YOUR CAKEHOLES! IF IT WERE FOR PEOPLE LIKE YOU ANY TOM <admin-profanity filter activated> AND HARRY WHO HAS NO SKILL WOULD START WEARING A FARLA! AKAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAL! 44. farla is the nishan sahib every sikh carrying on his head .... according to things i have learned so far .... it was created by dasme pita after the beadbi of nishan sahib in battle field .... farla is for senior members of nehang dals ... as age show ur experence in shaster and shaster videya .... if ur old ur allowed mostly .... u will hardly see farlas in nehang youth beacuse it is hard to earn u need to impress the jathedar with ur shaster videya or shudh banni or the way u walk and talk .... u should be different from others .... u should have geyan of guru itehas .... then ur allowed to waer farla even at younger age .... last is seffarash ..... if u have links .... that also doesnot mean u have got rights to waer farla ..... it just helps that u are given more chance to wear it as u can be called by jathedar himself to test ur knowledge shaster videya ..... without saffarash u need to find a chance ur self ..... its just a reward that this singh is clean and gurmukh enough to hold a nishan sahib on his head ..... why every sikh cant wear it .... it just has indirect answer that is .... dont u think the person who is getting the honour to hold nishan of gurughar should have some gursikh jeevan .... maffi

  47. Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! i come from a family, who for now, have forgotten( very badly forgooten) guru sahib maharaj. But, ever since i was a little kid, guru maharaj had kirpa, did naam simran and sang praises of god since 5 years old, and i loved him very much. But sadly, i didnt know what was sin, how to live in maryada, as no one guided me. Well, i was wrong. Satguru guides us all. I read a book when i was 10( started getting into reading), and i leraned abour sikhi. So, that second, guru maharaj showed me the path to mukhti. I stopped all the sins, with guru jes kirpa, and started my practice for amrit. I practiced for round a year, then took khanda je pahul and with satguru maharaj i learned sikh history, how to read gurbani, gatka, etc. I started waking up at 2 am and reading 5 bani, doing 3 hours of naam simran, sometimes almost fainting, and then doing asa di vaar and sukhmani sahib paat. Then in evining, after school, i would do my work, play, and do sukhmani sahib, rehareass sahib, naam simran, and at night kirtan sahila. I felt so close to guru je. No all thats on my mind is guru maharaj and vaheguru. I find eternal peace at tgurughar, and am gonna build a seperate house for guru je, where i can have their darshan everyday. I just wish that the guru sahib granted sikhi always remains with me, and may my head go, but never my sikhi. May satguru have kirpa Waheguroo Jee Ka Khalsa! Waheguroo Jee Kee Fateh!! this is a story about a kid just shows that guru jes kirpa can do anything bhul chuk maf
