These bachans should not be dismissed and fall into a different category than the usual 'crackpot prophecies' that we can google in an instant. Specific dates have not been given as the dates fluctuate between the amount of beadbi happening and compassionate ardaasa of kamaii wale Gursikhs who do not want to see this level of carnage. But one thing for sure is that the timing cannot be be delayed any further. Baba Amar Singh Jee released a video about all this happening in 1997 and gave specific dates which were meant to be kept gupt. A Brahmgiani Mahapurkh did ardaas in order to delay it. Since and before then there have been random predictions all the time but nothing to back it up. In 2012 there was a big 'end of the world' hype but no Mahapurkh named 2012 as a specific year. However, kamai wale Singhs and Mahapurkhs have said that it will happen in the next few years, this topic is evidence of that. The aboveveer jee I quoted has made some valid points. We shouldn't just sit around and wait for all this to happen and should get on with our lives. But on the same token we have been told to prepare by increasing our nitnem, getting baani kant, keeping shasters and basic survival skills. Whether we believe in these bachans or not, in Sikhi we are meant to be tyar bar tyar so ill-preparedness is not an excuse.

Our girls are neither safe in the womb nor safe once they are born. forget biases based on religions and concentrate on FACTS - there is a Race issue but lets dissect it clearly. Lets concentrate on 2 things, 1. The problem of Grooming. 2. How it affects in particular Sikh Children/Girls. 1. The problem of perverts is age-old problem. Nothing new. I just have one request... Please don't give up on life because of prophecies. Keep getting an education, keep striving to become successful, keep supporting your family, keep uplifting your Sikhi, I have seen and heard people making prophecies for a long time now (I'm probably older than alot of you), and one thing I have noticed over and over again is that the prophecy dates keep on changing. In 2002 they were saying 2007 is the end... Then 2007 came and went, and people started saying 2012. And now we are again pushing it to 2016. It's the same trend over and over. If you want to believe these prophecies, that's your own choice, all I'm saying is please don't give up on things you strive for in life.(for example: what's the point in getting married, finishing university etc if the world is gonna end anyways?) Eh, I think you may have missed the point. Just as a doctor has all medicines, certain patients will need specific medicines to cure them. A parent loves all of their children the same, but some children can be taught just by talking, some by shouting, and some with a good old fashioned chapal! Although Baba Banda Singh Bahadur was the leader of the Sikhs, but it was his duty to ask and consult the Panj Pyaras before making a dicision. Baba Jee also showed us how a Sikh leader should be. You haven't elaborated on what 'wrong' things he does but I will say this : Sikhi is not something you can force, lecture or scare someone into. It is, quite simply about feeling the love. I guarantee that if he makes a habit of attending the Gurdwara, getting involved in the children's activities in the Gurdwara etc, he will, before long, get an amazing feeling that will make him want to take even greater steps towards Sikhi without you having to say a word.

Reading some of the old Hindu texts (Vishnupuran, etc) there's a lot of parallels with the modern day in terms of the failings of man, and how time and time again he needs to be reeled in due to his hubris and weaknesses where he begins to consider himself bigger and mightier than the Creator. There's an awful lot of that around today, although it could be argued there's always been something like this for as long as Man has been around. I guess it's that classic case of each generation believing theirs is the most corrupt, greedy, and lacking of morals. Everyone complaining and whinging, why don't you go there and offer your services? It is the panth's channel? Why not go offer your seva?
