  1. Winds of change my friend. Every 50 to 60 years around the world a wind of change blows. The wind is blowing and India is stupid if it thinks it can ignore it, for it is an unstoppable wind. Lets talk about Scotland for one moment, and remember, India - although it likes to call itself a 'democracy' - arrests, imprisons and tortures under achaic sedition laws anyone that even dares mention a separate homeland. In Scotland some people - not all, just some - articulated a desire to break up the UK and become an independant country. Now compare the UK response to the India response. See how a country needs to have democratic values before it can be termed a democracy. The UK government response was to engage the separatists in debate and also provide the separatists with free TV airtime during elections so that the debate can be held on an equal footing. After debate, the UK government have announced that a referendum will be held in Scotland this year asking all Scottish people this simple question : 'Do you wish to have your own independant country?'. The UK government wish them to say 'no' but have stated they will respect the wishes of the people. If the people vote 'yes' than the government is prepared to break up the UK and let the Scots go their own way. Now these, are the values of a democracy. Once Scotland goes, the Catalans around Barcelona will soon break away from Spain, the Basques in northern Spain and southern France will follow suit, Belgium will then cease to exist as the government in Paris is already in negotiation with the french speaking half of Belgium about incorporating it into France, and Quebec will follow too. That kind of wind is unstopable. A free Punjab is coming whether or not the Indians like it. It is for this reason we western Sikhs should concentrate on not only educating but also winning the hearts and minds of the Sikhs in Punjab. They have lost their way but its not their fault. They have not been allowed to know anything about the truth. Thats our job to teach them and show them. Enough of arguing with India. You can't reason with unreasonable people. Lets concentrate on getting our own people ready for the wind of change.

  2. Movies like Sadda Haq and Kaum De Heere getting banned will do the opposite, and exactly what the Indians DON'T want. You ban a movie, it only gives it more publicity. If they were as wise and sane as they think they are, they would have allowed it. But they didn't and committed a grave blunder. Now the youth will be more than interested and curious to watch them, and once they do, they will turn out to be eye-openers. Sikhs should fund, produce and direct more and more such movies that expose the truth and disrobe the lies propagated by the Hindustani media. Always remember Singho, when the Khalsa had its own Raaj, even French Generals like Ventura who were once with Napoleon came to server under Maharaja Ranjit Singh. Today we don't, and so we are moving out of the same Punjab to foreign countries. If we began to calculate the quantity of water that has been snatched from Punjab and given to the other Indian states neighboring Punjab, the amount they owe Punjab is, and I kid you not, an easy 10-digit figure! Now just imagine if we had all that money, had our own Raaj, we wouldn't need to go abroad to any country, and if we had a Gurmukh leader like Sant Jee to lead us, we would have long back in fact put all these newly born booming economies to shame long ago by now! Don't listen to anyone who tells you that Sikhi is only about nimarta/humility. Of course it is, humility is an essential aspect of Sikhi. But what is humility? How exactly do you define it? Humility is NOT me wearing a white kurta pajama and folding my hands with a smile on my face calling out veerji/bhenji to anyone coming to the Gurdwara Sahib. Humility is when I am laced with weapons, and have a million troops walking behind me, all laced with weapons, and a poor unarmed man comes before me in distress, and STILL I fold my hands and say with a smile in all humility "Veerji, how can we help you?" THAT is the humility of the Khalsa. First become sovereign and powerful, then we can be as humble as the dust of anyone's feet. Until then, any so-called humility is nothing but another shade of slavery.

  3. Eveything is viewed according to one´s level of consciousness. Nobody can convince anyone, for that one has to reap or mature. Like a professor of university talks about chemistry and formulas, and a a first grade student listens to it by chance, he will say, what are you saying...I know 2 +2 is 4. It is only time that one needs to grow up. If one is not ready, even if Wahiguru comes and try to make one understand, one will simply not understand. The example is as, when all the mahapurukhs come, how many of the people believe their teachings, or others slander them...when they do give the same teachings to all, but then why do some accept and others see the totally opposite side, and abuse them physically, that also when they only speak the Truth, in simple words? Because they have a different levels of consciousness, conditioned by past sanskaras also. Nothing more to discuss, at least from my side. No need for it, before it goes out of sense. But anyhow I can only sincerely wish you the best of luck, may you succeed and achieve your goals according to your thinking.

  4. WJKK WJKF I agree with your posts, the ideology behind your opinion is spot on , however the reality is not many so called sikhs are tyar bar tyar, even if they carry Shastar how many know how to affectively use it? We really have come so from the khalsa fauj because of westernisation and other contributing factors. The only tyar bar tyar we many sikhs are, is when theirs a party with sharaab! The sad fact of the matter is, their is a certain arrogance amongst all Indians which I personally think is cultural and characteristic for the whole of India, if someone was being attacked in the uk, no matter who, someone would of come to the aid of the victim. Were at a stage of time now what mirrors when our guru tegh bahadur shaderdi took place and our guru gobind Singh asked shaheed bhai jeevan Singh ji, "was their no sikhs there", to which the answer he received guy ji replied he would create such a sikh, one would be recognisable in a crowd of 100,000, unfortunately, these days they are distinguishable, but not recognisable as the shakti of many sikhs has all but gone. In the sense that no one, not even sikh police officers, local sikh residents of Amritsar could come to the aid of our brother who was attacked. How sad. WJKK WJKF

  5. Bro forget about Nihangs. Question should be, where are the Sikhs in general? this is besti of the entire Sikh Nation. Every Sikh is a Sipahi. When we see a Sikh in distress, it's our duty to help our brother and not just stand there like a silent spectator. During the 80s right after 1984, in many parts of urban Punjab, there became such a situation that there were attacks on Sikhs in the urban areas of Punjab which were heavily dominated by Hindus because back than there were very few Sikhs in the urban centers of Punjab. Right after 1984 my uncle and his friend both riding on a motorcycle were passing by when they saw a lone Sikh being attacked by a couple of Hindus. They began doing beadbi of the Sikhs dastar and beard. Just then my uncle and his friend stopped immediately and came to the aid of the Sikh while beating up those Hindu attackers. Back then Sikhs had a sense of brotherhood. An attack on one was an attack on all. This new incident happened in Amritsar of all place. Amritsar is like our historic cultural/religious capital. Historically Sikhs have always made a decisive last stand in this holy city. This is one place where beadbi of a Sikh's dastar should not take place.

  6. Although we begin to forget our slave status within India but with the passing of every such incident, we are again and again reminded of the importance of being Tyar Bar Tyar Khalsa as Guru Gobind Singh Jee wanted us to be and as Sant Jarnail Singh bhindranwale did parchar of. Look at Sant Jee, where ever he went he always had a teer, 3 foot long kirpan, revolver besides his Kakaar Kirpan. He always encouraged the Sikh youth to become Amritdharis but to also be Shastardhari. Look at the police who just stood there. They didn't do anything. So one thing is for sure, Sikhs cannot depend on Indian police for protection and safety. The only thing that will protect us is living life according to the Bachans of Guru Gobind Singh Jee. Just read the letters of Bhai Rajoana and Bhai Hawara. They always encourage the Sikhs to keep fit while becoming observant in Sikhi.

  7. Forget the Nihangs, where are the Sikhs of Amritsar? It is true that had the incident happened outside Punjab the Sikhs even though they are a minority would have raised hell. But it looks like in Punjab the dog Badal and his BJP allies have taken away any ankh that Sikhs had. When over half the male Sikh population does not keep keep their Kesh then how can you expect them to know that their religion has been insulted by these Hindu scum?

  8. This happened a few minutes away from the Harmandir Sahib, it shows how little the Sikhs can do in India. One Kirpan against a mob is of little use, when Sikhs are attacked its always against a massive mob, often aided by the Police. Our Jathabandis need to take collective action, however most are under the control of India and have done nothing.A bigger insult is that it happens on Hola Mohlla, the anti Sikh groups are basically saying the Sikh warriors are for show only these days.If only a few Nihangs turned up in Amritsar they would get the message however no one comes to a Sikhs aid.

  9. WJKK WJKF Just watched the movie today and it was amazing. So much history was added that a lot of people were unaware about. Only thing I didn't like was the fact the theatre barely had any people (Brampton Silvercity). So please take the time out to support the people who put in so much effort instead of just downloading it. WJKK WJKF

  10. I like to take this chance to open up discussion on difference between krodh vs bir ras. I think lot of sikhs confuse krodh attribute of human with bir ras. Krodh is one of panj chor which sikh suppose to control or rise above from. Here is my take on it: Krodh- Sheer anger invoked by raig (attachment), dvaish( animosity), intent of using unjustified force with intent of doing further collateral damage where innocent lives are lost/hurt. Bir ras of Sipahi: Warrior spirit of self defense- stopping an individual to do further damage, fight against oppression but more importantly- bir ras is not on its own, its naturally born, nurtured and controlled by sant aspect of one's life- dya (compassion), sat(truthful), sabar( patience), santokh(contentment), sam/advait dristhi (non dual one vision impartial perception of humanity). Please share your input.

  12. Given the current demographics of Punjab freedom under the notion of a 'Khalistan' is extremely difficult if not impossible to imagine. Freedom will come but it will come in the form of a collective Punjabi pride. We can look to the example of the Iranian revolution : Back in those days Iran was considered the France of the east. The vast majority of women walked around in mini-skirts etc and very few had any religious feelings whatsoever. What united the religious and the non-religious however was knowledge of their proud history of having spent thousands and thousands of years without ever being ruled and controlled by a foreign power. When they saw how their corrupt Shah was giving control of their natural resources of oil etc to British and American companies it awakened something in all Iranians...rich and poor, religious and non-religious. It united all Iranians. This is the same thing that we need to awaken in all Punjabis. We need to re-ignite that spark. Punjabis need to feel that same sort of anger each time they see Bollywood raping their culture.....Each time they see Bollywood ridiculing their proud history etc. It is no co-incidence that most 'Khalistanis' in the UK are moneh and they are mostly motivated by intense Punjab pride. That is what we need to tap into if we are to be free. The Punjab national pride is already there for the taking but we just haven't utilised it effectively.

That is the belief that we can make everyone khalsa's and then there will be khalsa raj this is cloud coco land thinking and a diversion from real ground reality geo-politics concentrate on khalistan a nation state modeled on Israel as it is a jewish state that allows other religions to stay as will Khalistan be a Sikh republic that will have majority sikh population but also allow non-sikhs their rights safeguarded in law.

  15. Bibi Waheguru Kaur and Bibi Satnam Kaur Introduction There are many fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters which stood up and answered the call of Dhan Dhan Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj. Usually these fathers, mothers, brothers, sisters, sons and daughters come from different families, rarely is it seen that every member of a family offer themselves to Guru Sahib. One such family was that of Bhai Mohar Singh Ji. This is the story of how a family of Pandits became soldiers of Guru Sahib and then great martyrs of the faith. Childhood Bhai Mohar Singh was born to Mata Suhag Vanti and Pandit Bihari Lal Ji in the village Jumal Pur, District Amritsar, Punjab India. Bhai Sahib from a very young age always had an interest in religion and Akaal Purakh. He was very studious from early on and also very active in sports. Both Bhai Sahib’s parents were very religious and gave Bhai Sahib an excellent upbringing teaching him the values of being a good person. Meeting Sant Baba Kartar Singh Ji and taking Amrit One day Bhai Sahib found out that Sant Baba Kartar Singh Ji Bhindranwale, the 13th Jathedhar of Guru Sahib’s Taksal would be coming to his village for a program. Bhai Sahib decided to go to this program. After listening to the Katha of Sant Ji, Bhai Sahib was extremely moved. He spoke to a few Singhs from the Jatha after this and then decided to become a Singh of Satguru Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj. Both Bhai Sahib and his wife, Bibi Pritam Kaur Ji were blessed with the gift of Amrit. Bhai Sahib and his wife used to do a lot of bani and naam abiyhaas. Eventually they were blessed with two children; Bibi Satnam Kaur and Bibi Waheguru Kaur. In the 80s Bhai Sahib used to live with Sant Gyani Baba Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale, the 14th jathedhar of Guru Sahib’s Taksal. Bhai Sahib and his family were very close to Sant Ji. Bhai Sahib in fact was one of Sant Ji’s personal bodyguards. Meeting with Sant Ji During the 1984 Attack Bhai Sahib and his family were still with Sant Ji. They had done an ardas to Maharaj to bless them with Shaheedi. Sant Ji met Bhai Sahib and told him that he has two young children and a wife and as a result he should leave. But Bhai Sahib told Sant Ji that he and his family, including his two little daughters who were only 8 and 6 respectively had done an ardas already to give their heads to Guru Sahib. They would not turn their backs on Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji Maharaj and on Sachkhand Sri Darbar Sahib. Bhai Mohar Singh and his family’s Morcha. Bhai Sahib was told by General Shahbeg Singh Ji to take up his morcha at the place where Dhan Dhan Amar Shaheed Baba Deep Singh Ji, the first Jathedhar of Guru Ji’s Taksal, had placed his head at the feet of Guru Sahib after fighting and defeating the invading forces of Jahan Khan who had desecrated Sri Darbar Sahib. 1984 Attack On June 4th the Indian Army invaded Sri Darbar Sahib. They attacked the house of Guru Ram Das Ji Maharaj with tens of thousands of commandos. At amritwela bullets began to fly in every direction. Singhs began their morchas with an ardas to maharaj, to bless them with strength and love and to let them stay true to his beautiful path of Guru Sahib. The army tried to send 400trained Commandos from the Ghanta Ghar gate, Baba Deep Singh gate and the Langar side. From all three gates Singhs gave such a reply that not one of these commandos survived. The Singhs of Guru Sahib were fighting their morchas with such intensity that the army thought it was they who were out numbered; they could not imagine that it was only 200 Singhs who were wreaking such havoc among their ranks. Bibi Pritam Kaur, Bibi Waheguru Kaur, and Bibi Satnam Kaur were doing seva for Singhs during this time. They would refill magazines for the Singhs as well as bring them whatever food or water they could find. In addition to this Bibi Pritam Kaur was looking after those Singhs who had been shot. Guru Sahib was doing so much kirpa that even though some Singhs had been shot numerous times they were still fighting and were encouraging other Singhs to do the same. Tanks brought into Darbar Sahib On the 6th of June after suffering thousands of causalities the army saw that the Khalsa of Guru Sahib would not let them enter. The Generals in charge of the army then decided to send Tanks and other armored vehicles into Darbar Sahib. Shaheedi Bhai Mohar Singh Ji and his family who had been fighting their morcha saw what was happening. They then decided that now was the time to sacrifice themselves for the sake of the Sikh Kaum. They did an ardas to Maharaj, and then all four family members strapped several grenades to themselves and prepared to go back home to the feet of Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Sahib Ji. Shouting Jaikarey they ran towards the lead tank and as they jumped on it, they blew it to pieces. It was because of these four beautiful saint soldiers of Guru Sahib that the tanks behind this one could not get through and do even more damage. Bhai Sahib and his family gave their heads to Guru Sahib at the same place that their older brother Dhan Dhan Baba Deep Singh Ji had done all those years ago. When Singhs saw this they couldn’t stop tears of happiness from flowing. Bhai Mohar Singh Ji’s family’s shaheedi filled the rest of the Singhs with so much josh and they continued to inflict heavy casualties on the invaders, right till the end. The Aftermath Bhai Sahib’s family was harassed a lot by the police and army following Operation Bluestar. Bhai Sahib’s brothers joined the Khalistan Commando Force and fought the invaders right till Guru Sahib took them back home. Bhai Sahib’s nephews Bhai Baksheesh Singh Kaljug and Bhai Parmjit Singh Pama also joined the movement and died fighting for this beautiful path of Dhan Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj. Bhai Baksheesh Singh was such a furious lion of Guru Sahib that he came to be known as Kaljug because he brought death to the enemy. Bhai Baksheesh Singh Ji rose to the rank of Lt General before his shaheedi. Conclusion The story of Bhai Mohar Singh Ji, Bibi Pritam Kaur Ji and their two little children is an amazing story of untold sacrifice and dedication which continues to this day with Bhai Mohar Singh Ji’s father and mother still holding Sri Akhand Paths for the Shaheeds of Guru Sahib’s Panth. "My father is Guru Gobind Singh, my grandfather is Guru Teg Bahadur, and my great-grandfather is Guru Hargobind. Death means nothing to me. Our death will fan the flames that will drive the tyrants from this land." With so much blood filling the foundations of Khalsa Raj, there is no doubt that it will become a reality. 16. Either these guys have way too much time on their hands and cooked all this up out of extreme boredom, or they are extremely scared of Sikhs and just want to kick up a fuss and shed the blood of innocent Sikhs once again. I have come across more than enough Facebook pages created by Punjabi Hindus which smell of anti-Sikh sentiments as the sole reason for having those pages in the first place. Its true, we're fighting a media war, a war of information these days.

There's been no agreement on the subject, with our side and the Indian Govt concentrating on the violence in West Punjab and the Pakistanis concentrating on the violence in East Punjab. Can I ask what your advice being so well read as you are have been to the 1,8 Million Sikh refugees forced out of Pakistan have been? Also your advice to the Sikh leadership who having been denied the right of a sovereign Sikh state were faced with-; 1. 1.8 Million Sikh refugees who have lost everything 2. A Muslim population in East Punjab which had attacked the Sikhs and Hindus in Amritsar city, 3, A Muslim population in East Punjab which had attacked Sikh refugees who had reached what they thought was the safety of East Punjab 4. Having no land to resettle the Sikh refugees on because Gandhi and Nehru wanted the Muslims of East Punjab to stay and not migrate to Pakistan.

Devotees from different parts of India and abroad have arrived. While joining in the celebrations, SOPW will also take the opportunity to remind the Sangat of our Sikh Heroes who languish in jail and that while "they are not free, WE are not free". SOPW banners have been placed along with the other decorations lining the streets to both Kiratpur Sahib and Anandpur Sahib, where the Hola Mohalla procession will pass. 25. SOPW are delighted to announce that the permanent bail of Bhai Baljeet Singh Bhau has been set. His family will fulfill the bail bond on Monday and with Waheguru's kirpa, it is hoped that Baljeet Singh will return home on Wednesday. Baljeet Singh 'Bhau' has been incarcerated in Tihar Jail New Delhi since 2008, accused of the attempted murder of the cult leader Gurmeet Ram Rahim of Sirsa. SOPW have been providing welfare support and funding Baljeet Singh's case. Our legal team submitted his bail application quite some time ago but countless delays and at times the attitude of the presiding judges, have meant a long wait for him and his family. During one of the court hearings the presiding judge went as far as to say that Baljeet Singh “should remain in jail forever because if released he will almost certainly step into politics”. In June last year, hopes were dashed again when he was granted permanent bail release and as he was on his way home, he learnt that following an order, the Judge had turned the bail into 3 months parole, thus snatching away his freedom once again. We will hopefully bring you the good news and photo's of his reunion with his parents and family on Wednesday. We would like to thank our SOPW India team who each time, travelled from Punjab to Bhau’s hearings and throughout the constant harassment, their camera equipment being confiscated and damaged, they continued to bring us news of the well being of Bhai Baljeet Singh and the other prisoners we are supporting in Tihar Jail. 26. In spite of all what you say, sikhee is something very different from what generally people think of it, or believe it to be. Sikhee´s main objective is to unite the soul with the Supreme father Wahiguru Akal Purukh, through bhakti, through the regular practice of love and devotion, at His Lotus feet. As simple as that. Apart from that, all is paraphernalia. You may change your outer apperance if you want, but never ever leave the door, the teachings of our Guru Sahibans, because then we may have entered the world, but at the cost of missing the chance of getting back to Him, some day. As said, do what you want, under the frame of morality, but do always cherish love at the holy feet of Wahiguru, that is my only humble advice to you May God bless you.

I know that there are times when one can sit there and continue japping, but the mind keeps bringing in thought after thought and distractions..one after another.....such that, when you finish/stop or it's time to stop......you feel guilty and disgusted that you had all these thoughts all the while trying to do simran ! Don't give up.. keep going and keep trying.. Guru Nanak ji's says in sidh gosht that ''one may have to chew iron with teeth of wax to get to waheguru, but with the use of Shabad, this is all possible for the devoted gurmukh'' He knows if you are making the effort even though there has been many times when I have felt that my thought's were unnecessary and complete sacrilege to the name of waheguru. But believe me, he knows and for every one step you take, he takes ten or more towards you.

  34. When a jatt Sikh uses his or her surname I get to know so many things: 1) Which village they are from 2) Which district they are likely from and thus which dialect of Punjabi they speak. For example, if they are 'Sidhu' I know they speak a doaba dialect, and if they are a 'Grewal' or 'Brar' I know they speak a malwai dialect etc. 3) If they are a 'Bains' I know they are likely from Hoshiarpur and thus fairly intermixed with sainis and potato farming. 4) From their surnames, because of the districts the surnames are from, I get to know if they are likely one of the old established Sikhs in the UK from the 50's or one of the newer arrivals from the late 70's onwards. There are just so, so many things and so much to know and learn. Absolutely none of it has anything whatsoever to do with 'caste'. The only people who make it a part of caste are those with ulterior 'jatt-bashing' motives. For example, the poster that started this thread. He relies on your ignorance of worldy things to articulate an intention of bashing 'caste' per se. But his actual username here is simply another name that bhatra sikhs in the UK like to call themselves. None of you here should make it so easy for people to run rings around you.
