We did ask him how he became a parchaarik. He said he was a sickly child who was left at sant ishar singh jis diwaan. (If my memory is intact) And so he was raised in this parchaarik lifestyle.

Oops, I never thought of this before: but was he molested in the dera by someone? (Not the Sant, but a random person or persons. Because there are always tons of followers-on in deras.)

Harinder's released a video on Nirvair Khalsa Jatha's youtube page (i'm not posting it out of principle, it's easy to find), he waffle's on for 10 minutes telling people to make up their own minds and how the system's corrupt.

I remember seeing them years ago, they were pretty good, they had all the sangat's attention, i saw them recently (well, a couple of years back, before they opened their own Gurdwara) and he rolled up in a brand new white Audi Q7 with a private plate (something like NKJ **) and that spoke volumes about who he and his group of rag tag followers were, power and money corrupts, only a few are immune to it, these lot are as corrupted as they get.

I spent time in a similar setting when I was a kid (under 10), and while, with God's grace, I managed to not fall victim to such shenanigans mostly due to my parents pulling me out in time, I observed the older "kids" (mid-teens and older) actively targetting the younger ones. They start friendly; an arm around the shoulder, etc., but then their hands start wandering; they make night-time visits to where the younger kids sleep, and before you know it the filth starts.

Sikh or not, where-ever there's young children, you will always have sexual predators gravitating to such places. Our institutions are no exception.

Yea he called Jathedar ji a hypocrite. All the more sangat should listen to our jathedar and not NKJ.Just because NKJ says a couple of good things, that does not give them the right to say the wrong things and not be questioned. For example Harinder said mental illnesses cannot be cured by Gurbani.by that he is putting limitation on  Guru ji's capabilities. If we have full faith in our Guru he can solve all our problems. We dont have to see a worldly doctor, our physician  is Guru ji.

Bhul Chuk Maf ?

The issue is that people still have the mind set that this kind of thing doesn't happen in "Sikhi", when the whole NKJ thing kicked off you had educated people saying it could never happen in our religion, it's still seen as something that shouldn't be discussed out in the open, a "we'll take care of our own" mentality, didn't really do the catholic church much good in the end. If we see this stuff going on we all need to call it out and make it known that this isn't acceptable in Sikhi (or anywhere else for that matter).

Yeah, he's spouted a lot of rubbish over the last few years, people are sheep, they need someone to follow, that someone is sat on their throne in every Gurdwara you visit yet people decide to follow snake oil salesmen like him.

Gurbani might not be able to cure mental health problems but it certainly helps, in  the last few month's of lockdown for me one of the only things that has saved me from loosing it completely is listening to Gurbani.

The one thing that really got to me was some of the "sevadaars" with some power would only give tableh and harmoniums during kirtan training to the young boys who allowed them to be touchy-feely. Those of us who didn't like that bakwaas had to sit and watch at the side for hours as everyone else was getting acquainted with the instruments. Ever since I was born I wanted to perform kirtan, etc., but if the price for instruction was molestation by a creep, then I'm proud to say I can't play the tableh or the baaja to save my life, lol. 5hit like that ruins kids' dreams. I knocked that kirtan stuff on the head, but somehow still managed to retain my loyalty for the Guru. 8 years old and getting red-pilled about the realities of life. It's messed up.

I was in Guru Nanak School Hayes, some sewadaars only used to give the wajay to those who could already play keertan, and put others on the side, maybe give tabla to them.

    • Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh Please someone shed light on the following situation: I understand that waheguru ji is everywhere.   This is what I feel: when I go to gurughar to do ardas, most of the times my ardas is accepted and when I do from home, sometimes ardas is not accepted.  This makes me believe that  i need to go to gurughar to do ardas in order to fullfill the ardas wishes. Now, here the problen is,  I do regular path and ardas at home and when something is important, i do ardas at home and go to gurudwara sahib to do the ardas and if i don't do that i feel something bad will happen and my wish will not be fullfilled. Sometimes the list gets so big, i had to write it on a piece of paper and look at the paper while doing ardas at gurughar. Sometimes I get frustrated because sometimes there is hukumnama, sometimes ardas happening, sometimes sukhasan, sometimes there is a big crowd (lineup) that I can't peacefully stand and do ardas and wait until everything is over. Also, i think if I do full ardass (means like the way the pathi sahib do), that's the only way fullfill my wishes. I think if I don't do full ardas and simply request for my wishes to be fullfilled (point to point talk without full ardas), waheguru will not listen and won't grant me those wishes. This all is driving me crazy with frustration and mental peace.  is it real that only ardas has to be done at gurughar to be fullfilled or it can be done anywhere anytime? Kindly advise what should I do and please guide me to the right path.
    • we shouldn't be worried about meat. I know this forum is allergic to meat discussions, but meat is hardly an issue for a sikh to be worried about! If you want we can discuss privately. Bhangra is dreadful these days. However music if required for keertan, so without bhangra music is actually good, if we do music with gurbani or something helpful and chardi kala! However it is unfortunate I am seeing modern keertanis bring keertan down to the level of bhangra from the past few decades!
    • Is that...? ਵਖੜਿਆ ਦਾ ਝਟਕਾ? and not ਬਕੜਿਆ ਦਾ. Unique ones not goat ones.
    • 4 days total.  First 3 days Akhand Paat for the auspicious occasion.  4th day Anand Karj followed by Kirtan, Katha and Guru ka Kangar.  In my attendance of 20+ weddings I have only seen ONE such wedding. Zero party... party brings meat, alcohol and bhangra / music.
    • I can see this old post has popped up on feed.  I am 34 was 17 when I was blessed with Amrit. Due to my kacha (raw/ uncooked) jeevan I dwell on this; if I had not taken Amrit wouldn't I have enjoyed sex, going pubs and eating meat sometimes? All before the age of 25? Then take Amrit later on in life? And if you have indulged in such activities... ENJOY IT! Why worry about hell / heaven?  As an Amritdhari we have other responsibilities; reunion with God whilst in Grisht jeevan. But if you're Non Amritdhari why worry? JUST ENJOY!
