Dear sadsangat. I have been wondering for some time now, and this won't let me sleep as its kept me thinking at night. Was Maharaaj, Guru Nanak Dev Sahib born as a perfect being? Was it later on when Maharaaj when to the river when he got the message from God? or was it in Sachkandh before that the message was passed to Him from God? I am very confused. The sadsangat can only help. Forgive me

Gorak Nath jee had conquered sleep but it resulted in an organ failure for his body. Sant Baba Mahaharnam Singh jee wanted Sant Baba Nand Singh jee to conquer sleep without any organ failure (which he eventually did). Does anyone know which organ of Gorakh Nath jee failed? Thanks a lot.

Does Hair Make Someone A Sikh ? If Hair Is Important Why Not Mentioned In Sggs 1 2 3 4

Kabir says bhaave lambe kesh kar , bhave ghaghar mundae meaning either keep your hair long or shave it all off . Kabir is saying real amrit is rabb da naam and not khande di paahul . If khande di paahul was amrit then those bhagts in SGGS never took amrit , you getting my point? Sunnat was not intended by Allah . It is not mentioned in quran .but muslims do it only for ritual because only some controversial hadiths mentioned it. Same way kes are no where mentioned in SGGS . some pracharak says rabb di diti surat bhane , se <banned word filter activated> beiman but i did not found it anywhere . so keeping hair is not important for non-khalsa . a person can be a …

Hi All, All i want to know is ......... At one side we say that God never becomes angry........... and on the other said its said that -- Do not do evils/crimes/bad or do not go against rules created by him if you are baptized... Otherwise the God will punish you...... i always have this question in mind.. God do not get angry how can he punish someone.... coz to give punishment you need to judge a person to be good or bad... but... how can god be biased to differentiate between people.... I don't understand his words.... i don't understand god... can anyone explain me..... WHAT DOES GOD WANT N WHAT HE ACTUALLY IS?

What is naam? Many people say they have naam from so and so but are not amritdhari. I know of Radha Soamis having naam, no bad comments plz, but do other Sikh samparda also give this and do other faiths? What exactly is it? I always thought it was simran, or reciting gods name. Then some people say one needs a guru, confusing.

This thread is only to reply back to the topic opened by harinder singh, if they feel they can close this topic as my intentions is to only reply to the topic which was opened by harinder singh on this subject.. -------- Your first quotation of gurbani is talking about physical body of these avtars and second quotation of gurbani talks about inner state of being, comparing them is like comparing apples and oranges. I like to quote ms514 post on other thread as it sum it up very well in other thread- Ok now, raja janak is considered Ansa avtar (Read Sant gurbachan singh ji bhindranwale work on japji sahib), ansa avtar is incarnation of one attribute of Vahiguroo t…

Since we consider Guru Gobind singh as our father and he descended from sodhis who in turn descended from Luv / Kush (not exactly sure which one ) , we are all descendants of Ram Chander ?

Remembering this Shaheed whose sacrifice and ideals are belittled if not forgotten in today's day and age, and who has been misunderstood to have left his physical body as an atheist, whereas truth is evident that he died in Sikhi saroop.

Tenets of Sikhi 1. Nam Japna 2. Kirat Karni 3. Vand Shakna I solely believe in the teachings of SGGS and i do believe WAHEGURU is there but i am unable to get around the "merging with god" part. I mean doesn't that make us self-centered. We are on this earth(in human form) to do the above mentioned things. I totally understand the "kirat karni" and "vand shakna". What confuses me is "nam japna", shoudln't nam japna be living in bhayai of akal purakh, shouldn't it be done as shukrana for what akal purakh has bestowed upon us, counting our blessing, living in the bhana of waheguru. But instead we do naam jap to merge with waheguru..isn't that an attribute of a selfcente…
