Normally I don't read Panjabi papers but I found this at the Gurdwara today. This Pardes Weekly article seems to suggest some serious misdoings at the Southall Singh Sabha Gurdwara involving massive sums of money. What to make of it?

Muslims are projected to grow in numbers. Not due to conversions but due to their high birth rates. Many people don't realise is that Muslim population would actually only be half today. If it were not to their high fertility rate. Many are simply outbreeding everyone else. It's not to do with people converting as many people assume. can any one confirm it....i've heard dat some sikhs tried to stop him doing katha in singh sabha gurudwara edmonton?though they were few in numbers and rest of ppl wanted to hear him. and police was called in to tackle the situation.

Leaving aside Guru ji, the general question of taking afeem (opium) in limited quantities for war/medical wounds is simply unproblematic. When you go to the hospital, they give you morphine. What do you think morphine is? It's an opiate. Even codeine (cough syrup) is an opiate! Ever had a cough? Granted, it is against Gurmat to take opium or other drugs for the fun of it. -
Yeah, that's one possibility. Another I initially thought is that it's a Muslim trying to gather info. But then, you might ask, how does he know about Sikh textual sources. Well, you'd be surprised at their resourcefulness. A final possibility is he's a weak Sikh who was asked a question by a non-Sikh and now he's suddenly feverishly wondering where it's "written" that you can't marry a young child. To the latter, I would say, you're looking in the wrong spot. back then was waaaay different. ppl didn’t attend higher education or have much to do after the age of like… 13, lol. you’d have 13 year olds boys and girls that know how to do kethi, cook entire meals, etc nowadays even 22 year olds are extremely immature and can be sheltered. the average person doesn’t know how to do anything except their 9-5 which they are probably half arsing as well.
