  1. I don't believe that any person who slanders or thinks badly of another can be any further along the path of Sikhi than that person they are slandering. We are sat here arguing about how bad and wrong other people are, how messed up they are, how they can't be true Sikhs, while our own faults are hidden away. I don't know right from wrong in regards to this issue, but the way that Sikhs go about this issue, doesn't seem right to me.

  4. Even Indira Gandhi is welcome into Sikhi, well not this life time because she got the axe. Your statements are purposely loaded to get an emotional reaction from others. This type of manipulation is more harmful than chasing after sexuality. I know that Punjabi culture encourages manipulation (being chalak), but Sikhi does not stand for it. It is obvious you do not have the knowledge on ALL religions to make such bold statements and once again you are being chalak. Sometimes we need to think on our feet and not follow elders in our lives. :biggrin2:

  5. There is a saying muslims stab you from the front and hindus in the back the same can be said about Christians. They appear harmless but if you check the history of christians in the punjab and what they did to the Sikhs in history you would not trust a Christian missionary as far as you can throw him. The british east india company attacked the Sikh lahore darbar using armed invaders the ex-pat white british Christians and their bengali slave foot soldiers who came to india and punjab carrying out many atrocities, rapes and pillages of the punjab after 2 big wars. They were also the ones who built a church by force in the darbar sahib complex before it was torn down. They also force converted many Sikhs to Christianity such as maharajah duleep singh who was only a child before snatching his jewels and kingdom and shipping him off to england. On the plus side a person converting to Christianity is better than converting to Islam as Christianity provides free will for someone to convert to other faiths unlike Islam. But make no mistake there is a real ideological war out there of christian extremists using cloak and daggar tactics to convert punjabi's especially Sikhs to Christianity. I can give you evidence of number of websites that are trying to tell Christians to dress up and camouflage yourself in the non-christian environment, befriend and convert people slowly and tell them to keep the name and appearance of their former faith so that they dont raise suspicions what is going on.

  6. Very true, many times we are put on test to see if we will falter from the path of Guru Jee. Those Gurmukhs who remain steadfast will have the Kirpa of Guru Jee while those become Bemukh dont. Puraatan Sikhs went through the worst of hardships, turture, yet their faith in their Guru was unshakable, while today we Sikhs don't even have 1% of the hardships of puraatan Sikhs, yet we falter so easily. Sikhs need to start trusting their Guru again. Gurbani has all the answers if only we do khoj of It.

  7. These are tactics to trap more people of Sikh backgrounds with their propaganda. In Punjab, Sikh converts to Christianity keep their names and also appearence. You will find photos of a Nihang praying to Jesus by the way. Secondly they use religious terminology of that particular religion for their own Christian things to fool the masses. They use the words 'satsang(at)' for congregation, Satguru for Jesus and other things to fool Sikhs. This is a real threat to Sikhi as especially the so called downtrodden Sikhs are prone to being converted because discrimination based on caste is still rampant in rural Punjab. Check the case of Tarn Taran (one of the few Sikh strongholds in Punjab) where 43 Sikhs converted to Christianity. Their numbers have tripled in a decade in Punjab.

  8. If he could go as far a studying islam , then why did he not study sikhi and learn about it before making such a decision, what kind of friends did/does he have, i mean was around he muslims alot, probably brainwashed, seems a bit drastic to say he knew nothing about why he bowed before SGGS ji, then he goes and learns about islam but not sikhi, to blame other people for ones own weaknesses is wrong, those people who talk in sangat and the ones who smell of booze/ cigs should be ignored and not deter one from following sikhi or any other religion. Muslims smoke, take drugs etc and still go to the mosque, to eradicate the smell of cigs 100% from the body even after bathing is impossible it come through the skins pores eventually. Maybe this is the path waheguru has set for him all i can say is had he learnt about sikhi he would never have made this decision, its he's loss he may get janat but sachkand can only be attained via SGGS JI in this day and age ( this is my view and understanding others may disagree, they can please their selves, but i dont mean to offend).

  9. https://twitter.com/Gaysikh check this account, and see how this individual is trying to promote gayism amoung the worldwide Sikh community on twitter. And even promoting other Sikhs to become gays. You can read how some so called Sikhs are all for gayness and want to "come out". Already Sikh community is targetted by many anti-sikh forces trying to undermine the faith and next generation (from pedo muslim grooming gangs and extremists, western culterial atheist secularist extremists, hindu indian rss shiva sena extremists, ravidassia secterian extremists) and now you have these gays who are trying to confuse the next generation. Where there is a high population of gays the birthrate of that nation and community goes down. This is why the west has promoted gays and removed the ban from homosexuality whereas if you look at nations like russia they have banned most homosexual promotion activity because they have a declining birth rate which threatens their future workforce and population. So should sikhs keep quite and allow these people destroy our faith and community overtly and covertly or should we stand up against it?

  11. These so-called Sikhs who convert- were they really Sikh to begin with? A true Sikh who realises the essence of Gurbani would never leave Sikhi and adopt another faith.

  12. From general context i think what 'Being spiritual not religious' means is that person adhering to actual essence - universal teaching such as (being good human being, not harm yourself and others, be compassionate and help others, make conscious decisions based on the real self not egoistic mind, love life, love energy/god, creation and meditate) person adhering to universal teaching which comes as 2nd human nature than adhering to religious rituals/beliefs which can be and have easily turned into dogma and once its turned into dogma- zealots and fascism/fascist are born. I think spirituality also means believe in own's experience (actually walking the path and expereincing things yourself through meditation) than believing in somebody else experience. From Sikhi philosophy context, dharam and spirituality are one. However, it may not appear so as many sikhs wrap their head around very valid rituals..however turn them into dogma or dogmatic notions for eg- looking at clock when one is doing the nitneem/how fast it can be wrapped up instead of connecting to gurbani flow then and slowly connect to gurbani flow every day/every moment. Being sikh spiritual would be after taking amrit- one who has taken deep dive in gurbani totally inside one self and living gurbani every moment and religious person would be confining guru sahib just like muslims into panj nawaza, performing panj nawaza as duty be done with it do whatever afterwards, rather than purifying the mind (following suanan, manan, nidashan sidhant in japji sahib). An example of sikh religious and sikh spiritual/gyan i can think of an sakhi of bhramgyani how once interrupted an sikh who was influenced by dogma who reciting japji sahib so fast to the point where each word being recited was being over lapped into each other, one cannot undestand let alone comprehend. gyani ji sat him down held his hand- gyani ji just said ikongkar and with help of bhramgyan, this newly religious men- they both went in transcendental meditation for hours and came back. Religious person confines guru sahib into gurdwara only whereas gyani/spiritual person see guru maharaj as ikongkar in all three forms as guru maharaj clearly said (to bhai nand lal) i have three saroops- sargun(creator is in creation), nirgun and shabad yet one (ikongkar)..Religious person, limit meaning of gurmukh (based on their own interpertation) , rest of all manmukhs deserve hell rather beleive in broader defination of gurmukh one who has conquered 5 chors (kaam, krodh, lob, moh, ahankar) and rest of all of us including amrit dharis who have not conquered 5 chors are manmukhs. I won't say much as it may offend others but last thing i would say- just do sehaj patt of japji sahib and sri akaal ustat sahib and go deep into it, it will destroy all the dogmatic notions/road blocks one has created for themselves..i can say after reading and contemplating on japji sahib and sri akaal ustat...all my other pre conceived notions are cleared. Also in soraj parkash granth there is parsang but once - sikhs did benti to sri guru gobind singh ji by saying- we have been reciting gurbani every day for long hours- how come its not bringing change compare to other singhs. Guru maharaj addresses to sangat. Gurbani is like a medicine. Patient need to take medicine inside before it could do its effect. Those who have complaints blame yourself because you are actually not taking gurbani as medicine inside but rather doing gargles of medicine and spiting out. Hence, having no effect.!! Gurbani is like liquid medicine, it will only take effect when patient takes mediciation fully inside not just gargle the medicine and spit it out. We have moral duty to discourage that kind of religious dogmatic mindset or mentality crept into our panth. Path of Sikhi is double edge sword, very very slipperly slope and have many land marks, if landmarks are not perceived in right manner or in contex of development stages that could itself become a road block, anything and everything could be road block. Basically, flow of human consciousness connected with gurbani in sikhi should be spontaneous and natural and fluid as very nature of gurbani In layman terms, be honest with yourself.. if you cannot witness your human consciousness progressing- diving in dephtness of gurbani and start having sat gun attributes listed above naturally and naturally rising above from panj chor while doing nitnem or following any maryada for that matter than there is a big problem.... not with the ritual itself but with your perception itself while you are engaging in maryada..there is a big problem..get up from asan, drop everything (i meant not literally) yeah drop everything, go humbly to dhan dhan dhan sri guru granth sahib to ardas and take hukamnama, if its meant to be- guru maharaj himself will destroy all the doubts inside you, free you from shackles from idiolized form of shariat one themselves are created and is now an trap..!!

  16. Kphull jee, no practicing Sikh would say what you have said here. So I can safely assume you are not a practicing Sikh by your above statement, and your statement also proves you have little knowledge of other faiths to not even know the differences between them. Now if you do not even believe in the uniqueness of Sikhi or practice it, then why are you trying to change Sikhi to suit a lifestyle which is clearly against Sikh principles? this is just like what Sikh communists do, who do not practice Sikhi yet will try to change Sikhi to suit their way of thinking. This type of thinking is wrong. One should try to change themselves for Sikhi not change Sikhi to suit them.

  18. WJKK WJKF Fellow brethren, A friend who was bought up sikh by his parents has recently confessed his desire to become muslim. He's gone as far as fasting, studying arabic, conforming to prayers, and stunningly bringing up both his offspring against sikhi and instead, full of islamic values. I don't agree with his omission but can't seem to blame him, our fathers, forefathers never adopted the sikh gown or adhered it to their children so how was he gonna be any different? I rather accept how he said 'I was told to go to the gurdwara, bow, have prasaad and then go; I was never told what was being said nor could I understand it' at times he said 'blokes can talk in the prayer room as they please, often smelling of booze and cigarettes'-is this God's he said to me? His quest with Islam is begining fruition, what I wanted to ask the sangat was that can I do anything, persuade, inform, educate or at least show this person the biggest regret he could be making....what would you do? Thoughts please....

  20. Mr K.Phull Ji, the answer to your belief that Sikhi is just the same as any old religion out there is pretty simple. Sikhi is the ONLY faith in which only actions count in front of God. Sikhi is the ONLY faith in which actions count for more than words or the so-called faith a child has been raised in or even sexuality/race/gender/caste. For example a good homosexual doctor saving lives is better than people like KP Gill. Jews believe that only the chosen people (males among whom must be circumcised) were granted Israel + will get to Heaven. Christians believe that non-Christians and those who don't believe in the virgin birth of Jesus will end up in Hell. Muslims believe in a 54 year old man who had sexual intercourse with a 9year old child Aisha and that those who don't believe this pedophile was the best example to humanity for all time will end up burning in Hell forever + ever. Hindu's believe that each individual is put in a caste or social status appropriate to their previous sins + will remain so. The message of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji opposes caste, opposes mistreatment of the poor+weak and women, states that all humanity is equal, states that God's doors are open to all (based upon their actions as opposed to their stated faiths) and does not threaten non-adherents with the torture of flames in Hell or being born a Dalit likes Hindu's believe. I actually agree with you that homosexuals are in no way comparable to pedophiles such as Prophets with many followers. So why exactly do you feel that Christianity, Judaism, Islam + Hinduism are the same as Sikhi and which religion do u believe?

  24. A lot of people like this are encouraged to retain their former religious appearance in order to trick and deceive their people. They do this with the Jewish faith too, where Christian missionaries will dress up as religious looking Jews (black clothing, long beard) in order to infiltrate and convert more Jews into Christianity. This is the same tactic this guy is using. From his looks no one from the Sikh community can tell he is a former Sikh and now fully Christian. He looks like a religious Sikh and most Punjabi people have respect and trust for people that look like this. This guy will then take advantage of their trust and respect for his looks and start to brainwash them about Christianity. In India, they do the same thing with Hindus, where these Christian missionaries will use typically Hindu religious vocabulary to trick and deceive their intended audience. Sikhs need to be aware of such people.

  27. Another Punjab Policeman Speak out about Human Rights abuses; Ensaaf releases video Ludhiana, Punjab (July 13, 2013): Last week, Punjab Police Sub-Inspector Surjit Singh publicly stated that former Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Paramjit Singh Gill of Amritsar district ordered him to kill 83 men in faked encounters during the 1990s. Surjit Singh’s story is not a singular one. In a video released by a Human Rights NGO, named Ensaaf, a former Punjab Police officer Lakhwinder Singh describes his experiences in the police force, where he witnessed his colleagues performing torture. He himself narrowly escaped a faked encounter. Lakhwinder Singh describes, however, how the police did kill his father in a faked encounter. Lakhwinder Singh, another Punjab Policeman, speak out about human rights abuses in Punjab Lakhwinder Singh, another Punjab Policeman, speak out about human rights abuses in Punjab “Lakhwinder Singh’s story is one of many that call for us to defeat impunity in Punjab. We must continue the fight for justice despite setbacks such as the Punjab and Haryana High Court’s dismissal of Surjit Singh’s petition seeking protection for his life earlier this week” Ensaaf has stated. “Surjit Singh has been receiving death threats following last week’s announcement and is worried about his and his family’s safety. Surjit Singh’s lawyer Rajvinder Singh Bains and human rights defender Kirpal Singh Randhawa will now approach the Supreme Court on his behalf”, it stated further. According to Ensaaf “by the end of the ‘Decade of Disappearances’ in 1995, security forces had disappeared or killed tens of thousands of Sikhs”.In order to cover up their crimes, Punjab security forces killed human rights defenders such as Jaswant Singh Khalra and Sukhwinder Singh Bhatti, as well as secretly cremated thousands of victims of extrajudicial executions between 1984 and 1995. As demonstrated in Ensaaf’s joint report with Human Rights Watch, Protecting the Killers: A Policy of Impunity in Punjab, India (Oct. 2007), India’s institutions have failed to acknowledge and address the systematic and widespread nature of the abuses, and accordingly have not provided truth, justice, and reparations to the victims and survivors. Still nothing from our Jathedhars, Sants, Nihangs , SGPC and other large organisations. Its a shame they cover up with the Government

  30. Nothing but islam is to blame here, ex-pat afghan Sikhs and wider global Sikh leadership. Those afghan Sikhs lucky enough to have settled aboard have done nothing absolutely nothing for their distinct community back home apart from a few appeals here and there they have not put any serious financial or political efforts. Even their kids they raise aboard they do not teach them to have that strong patriotic Sikh identity and to make sure their community survives and conquers afghanistan like the muslims refugee's do of non-muslim lands. This failure to instill in their people fighting spirit and their right to their native afghan homeland is their downfall and will not get better until they themselves wake up and realise Afghanistan is their land and not land for muslims or islam they are not outsiders but sons of afghan soil.

  31. Let's be honest here and not beat about the bush. The person you wrote of clearly has mental heath issues, who but a madman would want to leave Sikhi for the so-called 'religion of peace'. I suggest just as he seems to be against the way his parents raised him then his immediate relatives such as his parents or uncles need to make sure that he doesn't commit child abuse by raising his kids as Muslims. He is an adult and has a choice but his kids maybe being forced to become Muslims. I think we need a lot more honestly in relation to these sorts of incidents. Only a few decades ago one would not have found one Sikh becoming a Muslim but now we appear to have some fool brainwashed by Muslims every few months. The thing we need to consider is not that we have lost a Sikh, we should consider that a fool has left Sikhi and increased by one the number of brainwashed Muslims there are in the world. Our aim should be to bring others into Sikhi and we should not be expending our energies on idiots like that guy who will take his mental heath issues into their religion and out of ours. He's just another <banned word filter activated> who's likely to end up blowing some fellow Muslims up in an attempt to get to the Islamic whorehouse in the sky. Just as he leaves no doubt a non-Sikh whether in US, Canada, UK or even in Bihar or Madhya Pradesh will become a Sikh. That Sikh will be a thousand times more worthy of the support of his fellow Sikhs than the fool who left Sikhi. He will bring with him the spirit that the Sikhs of old had and not the fool who wants to become a Muslim just because he's seen a sharabi or smoker in the langar hall. I remember some years ago there was a <banned word filter activated> born in a Sikh household who also was brainwashed into Islam. He ended up in jail as he stabbed some Muslims in a Mosque after an argument. The only unfortunate thing was that he stabbed some normal Muslims rather than the ones who brainwashed him.

  34. There's a movement within the Gay community to claim every great person from history as being gay. If the historic person was unmarried then they claim he must have been gay and if he had a wife and kids then he must have been bisexual. It's a win-win situation for gays as no one can ever prove for certain that someone was or was not gay in history. This so-called rumour was started by some Gay Asian guy in the early 90s. Homosexuality is a form of kaam. It is wanting something that is forbidden. You can call it love but then someone who is a pedophile could say that he also was born that way so if according to the gay sikh fool when defending his perversion, God is perfect then why can it be wrong?

  35. What 'Sikh' grooms are you talking about? The same ones who keep a little bit of beard/hair to go along with Pagri/Dastaar for Anand Kaaraj and then a few hours later shave it all off and also go to the barber for a haircut so that then they can go to the reception to drink and do drugs among other things? Two wrongs don't make a right. If we want, we can make up many excuses for this guy. We can say that his face is just over an artist-impression type painting. We can say that why blame this guy when artists are painting Guru Gobind Singh Jee in an inaccurate way. We can say that Guru Sahib wanted Khalsa to look exactly like Him. The list of excuses can go on and on. But one point we must never forget. Gurbani and Gurmat are very clear on this issue. If you are going to dress like Guru Gobind Singh Jee.....fine...go ahead...be our guest.....but on one condition......you better have the lifestyle, thoughts, actions, virtues, merit, character, etc to back it up.......otherwise it's all just pakhand, karam kaand, fakeness, deception, misguiding, among many other things.

I would say ask him to learn more about Sikhi which his parents failed him to teach. I don't think it is his fault. His parents did not make any effort to teach him sikhi values.. Few months ago, I came across this you-tube channel :http://www.youtube.com/user/basicsofsikhi I thought I knew so much about Sikhi but after watching these videos I think there is so much more to discover about Sikhi... It is similar to other sexual deviance such as pedophilia where one feels aroused by little children or homosexuality where one feels aroused by the same gender or incest where one can feels aroused by their sibling. Sadly some of these sexual deviances are now becoming accepted as the new "normal" due to so called modern thinking.

There is a bit in the Times of India, http://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/2013-07-04/india/40370017_1_fake-encounters-cbi-probe-surjit-singh Ensaaf cover the incident http://www.ensaaf.org/multimedia/

  45. Someone get this cop out of country before he gets killed like jaswant singh khalra...yes this cop murdered innocent people on order of big officers, he should face ultimate fate in criminal court but he is small fish in the big pond..real crocodile is kps gill , sometimes you have to use small fish/work with small fish in the pond in order to get to crocodile..hopefully someone record all his statements and register the case in international criminal court and get him out as prime witness.

  46. THE POWER OF ARDAAS - Bhai Balbir Singh JI recounts his encounter with sarna and darshan crew at Gurdwara Rakabganj and how his ardas was granted with Victory (4:09) sadh sangat ji (addressing the congregation) this scripture that I am singing for you, please do not be confused on whos scripture this is, everyone knows and I have before also begged everyone that these are the words of our tenth master. It is the celestial words sung from their own mouth, Guru Gobind SIngh Ji the true King. Those who are speaking out and opposing this scripture should not do so as it belongs to our master and to the panth. I remember I was doing Kirtan here a while ago,(he Sings)"TIN BEDIYAN KI KUL VIKHEY PRAGTEY NANAK RAI". While I was singing Professor Darshan Singh was sitting nearby with the prabandhaks(comittee) and they grabbed my arm and stopped me singing hymns. "Stop this" they said "What do you think you are doing" I replied " I am singing the hymns of Guru Gobind Singh Ji which I have sung for many years at Sri Harimandir Sahib, Why are you stopping this kirtan" they stopped me but I felt very hurt, the sangat also felt very hurt when they acted in this manner. I did ardaas(Prayer) to the almighty truth, please bring that time, when I will be able to again sing those hymns from which I had been so rudely stopped. (Sangat shouts out victory slogans)"BOLEY SO NIHAL, SAT SRI AKAAL"

  47. I've heard if your Amrit Dharee your safe, because paranormal things run away from Amrit Dharees, if your not Amrit Dharee make sure you pray and do your Nitnem Sahib (with family more better)i'm sure then you will be protected by waheguru. I've heard katha about how Sri Akhand Paaths getting rid of Paranormal things, you can do a Sri Akhand Paath Sahib. And don't underestimate Gurbani, Gurbani is very powerful Just by saying Waheguru once you are protected and don't forget and have faith.
