There was once a dad who had a three-year-old son named Jeevan. One day, Jeevan sees his dad eating chocolate chip cookies in the living room and says to himself, "Daddy loves chocolate chip cookies with milk. So I'm going to give Daddy a glass of milk." With that thought Jeevan goes into the dining room and drags a chair from the dining room into the kitchen, leaving a trail of scratch marks on the floor. Jeevan climbs up on the chair and hitches himself onto the counter to pull at the cabinet door. Wham! It smashes against the adjacent cabinet door, leaving a gash where the handle hit it. Jeevan reaches for a glass, accidentally knocking two others off the shelf. Crash…

I was discussin wit a singh, and he had da feelin dat sometimes he feels wrong for havin saroop in da house... reason bein 'cause sometimes we sit on da computer or watchin t.v., or have our friends over etc... and dat seems like disrespect, 'cause for example if Guru Gobind Singh Jee was sittin upstairs in our room, dere's no way we'd ever leave dat room... although they are an amritdharee family, and parkash n sukhaasan are done daily, as well as nitnem n stuff, he still feels dat dey probably don't deserve havin Saroop in da house, mo…

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh I have heard that Maharajs ashes from the Sanskar are to be distributed into the River Thames and not be taken back to India. Please can this be confirmed? The river thames contains people sewage, amongst many intoxicants people thrown in while passing by. In my humble opinion, this is not really the best place to have the ashes distributed. I can appreciate that the sangat wish to see the seva take place, but do we not need to think about the beabdi involved? Apologies if the information is received is incorrect.

With all his wealth and influence did this maharaja help sikhi in Punjab - I don't know too much about the maharajas but he looks to be quiet ahem a character? http://www.britishpathe.com/video/maharaja-of-patiala A dinner set commissioned by the former Maharaja of Patiala has been sold at auction for $3m (£1.9m). The set was purchased by an anonymous collector, Christie's in London said. The set weighs nearly 500kg (1,100lb). Every single piece in the magnificent 1,400-piece silver-gilt set has elaborate decorations. The dining set was commissioned by Maharaja Bhupinder Singh in 1922 for a visit to Patiala by the Prince of Wales, later King Edward VIII. Each piece …

if not the greatest leaders truly one of the greatest sikh leaders since the gurus time. Was a leader who led the sikhs to having their own homeland and led his ppl to building a sikh empire, revenged the pathans for the crimes they had commited against sikhs and treated everyone in the punjab with respect and equality. Is the sikh community today in desperate need for another leader like maharaja ranjit singh. This time to fight corruption and to guide the community for justice.

Many times I have heard and read many Sikhs insult Maharaja Ranjit Singh. I am posting the following information for everyone to read and realize that he was a good person with a sense of morality and provided better leadership than today's governments. We should never forget what he accomplished and how he protected Punjab and India. Please keep the negativity out of this topic. Purpose of this topic is to show his another side which many times is ignored by today's 'critics'. The information is taken from Bahumullay Itihaasak Lekh.

Think his death anniversary is coming up according to the calendar. Here are some eyewitness accounts of his funeral, i read them years ago and the sati part left me thinking about it for several days! just horrifying! But as the historical accounts state the queens and slave girls actually decided to become sati! they were even discouraged but they insisted on becoming sati. The queens that became sati were Rajput women so its no surprise that they became sati as it was considered a very honorable thing in that community, In fact when the news reached one of the Rajput queens fathers kingdom that she became sati, her father was so proud of her heroic act that he ordered …

Maharaja Ranjit Singh in the eyes of Non-Sikhs According to the famous historian Carlyle, a worthy sovereign should be judged from a sole factor as to how he employs his sword after being victorious. ________________________________________ Le Griffin writes that: "Maharaja Ranjit Singh ruled his kingdom exactly according to the Sikh way of life and Sikhism considers everyone as friends and talks about the welfare of all irrespective of caste and creed." ________________________________________ The spirit of Gurbani couplet, "The one Lord is the Father of all and we are the children of the one Lord rules supreme in every Sikh heart." Charles Hugal, writes in his …
