  1. Not many replies. Why is that? Because they're not famous singers? I'm surprised @californiasardar @californiasardar1 has not mentioned this. Is it because they were monay?

  2. He's not. Don't make assumptions without knowing anything about him. Read about him and watch his videos. Look at his socials from years before, he's always been like this and had those opinions. Don't give him the treatment that a lot of Punjabis and Sikhs gave Deep Sidhu calling him a government agent.

You got a chance at Sikhi only because countless died for it. Remember them, pray for strength like they had The only reason you fall is because you’re trying in the first place. It’s never too late. Test of faith can be brutal but love for Guru Ji carries you through Review what people to keep in your life and those to remove. Do seva of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji and his sangat. Beg Guru Sahib Ji to let you taste the anand of his charan.

  4. Indian army tank, damaged by the defenders, in the aftermath of Operation Bluestar. You can see Brar and Dayal on the right inspecting the damage along with Sundaji. On the extreme left are the soldiers who participated in the brutal murder. They are now standing to attention in the aftermath of the clean up to display their own losses.

  7. Punjabi Sikh family killed in California WIONEWS Website California | Updated: Oct 06, 2022, 10:03 (IST) All four members of an India-origin Sikh family, including an eight-month-old girl, were found dead in an orchard in California, the Merced County sheriff said Briefing media on Wednesday night, Merced County Sheriff Vern Warnke said a farm worker in the area found the bodies, which were found relatively close together. He said that the Department of Justice crime lab is going to probe the crime scene, adding that they "don't know all the facts yet", reports ABC News. Terming it "horribly senseless," the sheriff said they are finding out the cause of the murder. Warnke further said he spoke to the suspect, who is in custody and admitted in the hospital, but did not provide additional details. Among the deceased are: eight-month-old Aroohi Dheri, her parents —27-year-old mother Jasleen Kaur and 36-year-old father Jasdeep Singh —, and the baby’s uncle, 39-year-old Amandeep Singh. The police said that the couple and the baby were kidnapped at gunpoint from a convenience store they own in Merced County in Northern California. The police said that the couple and the baby were kidnapped at gunpoint from a convenience store they own in Merced County in Northern California. They hailed from Harsi Pind in Hoshiarpur, Punjab. Police found out about their kidnapping after they discovered a vehicle owned by one of the family members on fire on late Monday, which led them to determine that they had been kidnapped. According to a news release, detectives received information on Tuesday morning about the accused, 48-year-old Jesus Salgado, after he used their ATM card in Atwater in Merced County. On Tuesday, the man attempted to take his own life prior to “law enforcement involvement" and is currently in critical condition receiving medical attention, the Merced County Sheriff's Office said.

  9. You can't really measure someone's sense of religious sincerity based on how they look. Even baptism isn't entirely an accurate indication of someone's inner state. Grown men aren't going to start lopping off hair and removing turbans because they don't measure up to some arbitrarily defined guidelines on what a "good" Sikh should be. If anything, this is an issue that's come to bite us in the behind, i.e. incessantly emphasising the transient and material external as an indicator of the transcendent internal. Spirituality sophisticated cultures and civilisations don't promote this low-level thinking. Pendu cultures do.

  10. how do they not though? Like a lot of "sikh" men think of it as a burden that adds hindrance to their lives. Just see how many posts are on reddit that I want to cut my hair. It makes no sense that someone who doesn't believe will go out of their way to wear a turban for the rest of the life. IDK man you would expect people like these to cut their hair. (if using an example of KP Gill or other so called"sikh" traitors who killed our people and continue to harm us then they worse turbans to blend in and to make it look like they were right since they themselves had uncut hair). I think the belief that people wear turban in Punjab culturally is not correct as many of such turbaned athiests have the saroop to blend in and fool Sikhs and harm us.

  11. yup my mom and i saw the same news and my mum was like ehne besharam lok dastaar paayi hoyi hai and doing such heinous acts. But I don't think the one raising the flags are the ones doing all this. These people who are doing all this hardly care about sikhi or will contribute anything to Punjab's future. They are just in kaneda because others are going to kaneda not because they have some plans for the future or they want to do something for Punjab.

  12. Have you observed this kind of materialism among pakistani punjabis? Since growing up I have noticed it among sikhs around me even the well off ones , this never ending greed for more and more and judging others based on how much expensive things they have. I observed it among my relatives all the times. This extreme jealousy at the thought of another family member buying something expensive. I dont understand this. I noticed this when my mom used to gather around with the family ladies and they would constantly stare at each other's clothes and purses and what not. Even growing up all I saw in the music videos was talks about cars, alcohol and expensive things. Just too much greed in the punjabi community. I see people going into debt to buy expensive cars just to show off. Such childish behaviour.

  13. All I see is a masterclass in slow-burn Indian psychological and sociological warfare. Objectively, they've finished the job using "peaceful" means what they started decades ago using violence and horror, i.e. eject Sikhs from Punjab. Question is should Punjabis be capable of recognising the clearly grand and intricate manipulation that's been enacted on them? If so, why do they continue to leap in the exact direction that their dokhis want them to? If they're so streetwise and smart, shouldn't they realise the game being played?

  15. I have always been poor at amrit vela, and my nitnem got disrupted when I started working and doing Masters. Few years ago, I was driving to work and listening to bhangra while doing a tiring commute. I thought to myself, bhangra music is just tiring me, why don't I listen to nitnem because I don't get time to do it anymore because of work!? So that is when I started listening to nitnem on commutes for different jobs like driving or travelling on train or bus, and usually reading paat on weekends. So nowadays I often listen to nitnem on playlist saved on my phone, how much nitnem I listen to depends on when I woke up and how busy my workshift is. I have been working remote since lockdown so this is much easier for me. If I can, I sometimes read japji Sahib and maybe Jaap Sahib, or maybe more, depends on the day or how tired I am. Occasionally listen to Asa Di Vaar. But without fail listen to at least some of my nitnem playlist. Usually evenings I listen to Sodar Rehras and Aarti and keertan from Hajoor Sahib from Youtube, although I have playlists setup if I don't have much time. One day I hope to be able to wake up and go listen to amrit vela nitnem in gurdwara sahib, although in the pend have been able to listen to this on village speaker. Stay in Chardi kala, nitnem is regularly possible with techonology, and if you miss amrit vela make sure to still do your nitnem later. And still, if you wake up late, you must still do Japji Sahib and Jaap Sahib. If you aren't going to read paat then use technology to listen without fail. Chardi Kala!!

  18. Try harder. It's a waste of time and emotional effort. Learn a practical skill that you normally pay another person to do (home repair / maintenance, etc) or a martial art to aid fitness. Or just read something. I was a little more than an average gamer but not quite hardcore. I was in my late 20s, mindlessly bashing buttons one day. Opposite from where I was sitting was a mirror. I saw myself, a grown man, playing a video game, and it hit me like a ton of bricks; a tide of overwhelming shame washed over me. "You soft b*****d" I said to myself. Next day I sold my consoles and all my games. One of the best things I ever did. I feel the same about spectator sports such as football. I was heavily into football. I was a proper statistician. I could've told you the teams and squads up to the reserve team of every club in the domestic European leagues. That's hundreds of players! Knocked that 5hit on the head in my early 20s, too. Bread and circuses bukwaas. They get you to invest your heart and soul into this 5hit so that you ignore or neglect the actual important stuff you need to be aware of. Moderation isn't the issue at all. It's all corporate cr4p that chips away at your aatma.

  19. Bhai Jee, All the responses above related to your question are spot on. I would just add if you know any local elder Gursikh who you know is not judgemental and can understand do try to reach out just sit have have a talk. Talking about these things with others in a confidential space can help. If it’s an elder they could tell you what they were like in their younger days which may help and they could regular check up on you and help you keep on your path. ??

  20. I do not want to derail the good comments above or get off topic. But I feel like lots of Sikhs are wrongfully thinking that fashion and makeup is okay so I will address my thoughts on it. Yes it's important to have a good mind. Man saaf. But do you realize how hard that is? It's easier to control actions. And actions show the thoughts behind it. So if you wear makeup and fashion, what thoughts are behind these actions? Vanity, pride, arrogance, desire, illusion and that we can fix or even beautify what God has created. Tell me why should one waste time and wear makeup? To look better? Why look better? To get more opportunities so people will think good of you? Is that not vanity etc To become more confident? Why is your self esteem in looks? Does that seem like this person had a pure mind? It shows that you judge yourself and others on outer fleeting looks. That's a weakness and not a pure mind.. Having a pure mind means. Neither happiness nor sadness will sway you. You realize everything is In God's will and God's will is always good. You have no desires nor hopes. Nothing can cause fear in you, not even death. And the pure mind is decorated with beauty and jewels of good qualities like humility, forgiveness, authenticity, living in God's will etc. I do not think any one I know has a pure mind. Only people who are so good that they are known as saints. Also about the tenth guru dressing richly, gurbani says don't copy the guru but do as he says. Which means taking Amrit as that is what the tenth guru wanted. And when you take amrit, you will be told no makeup and limit fashion.

  23. Ghokal Chand Narang writes: The founder of the Bhangi Misl, Chajja Singh, lived in a village near Amritsar. Chajja Singh took Khandey di pauhal from Banda Singh Bhadur. Now, if Banda Singh hadn’t taken Amrit himself, how could he been in the Panj pyare, to give Amrit? Chajja Singh was a mighty warrior! There are some adulterations to this Granth. The British adulterated the Sau Sakhi, in order to break the Khalsa spirit. The biggest bench mark that we have, is SGGS. Any historical event that does not conform to Gurbani, is contentious!

  24. Haldi (tumeric) has become very popular in western circles. In the west (particularly the US) loves to find these things, monetise it and create some craze/fad out of it. A lot of the goodness of our traditional diet comes from heuristics (a lot of practical experience/ trial and error etc). Modern science is catching up it seems.

  27. Recently while reading some website i came across an article about pictures of the Gurus that were painted during there own time and how we still have them. On Page 5 of the article there mentioned how in Baghdad Guru Nanak Ji Maharaj give permission to the king of Baghdad to paint Guru Sahibs Picture. In the article it mentions that a European named William Ouseley published a book in 1797 call "oriental Collections vol II". William Ouseley found this picture of Guru Sahib in a Baghdad palace and put the picture in his book. I searched for the book and found it, where it has Guru Ji's picture. There are two pages one gives a brief description and the second has the picture. Here are the pages with the pictures

  28. Waheguru I think eveyone has already visited this website Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s visit to Rome, Italy in the year 1520. The Vatican FINALLY confirms the visit of Il Prima Guru Dei Sikhs, the first Guru of the Sikhs. Ufficio Papa (office of the Pope) confirms about Satguru Nanak Sahib visit to Rome and other towns of Italy (by courtesy of Pope Benedict-12 and his Arch-Bishop, Dom Jose Ronaldo Rebeiro dated Feb 27, 2013). Arch-Bishop Dom Jose Ronaldo of Pope Benedict-XII, speaks about Satguru Nanak Sahib visit to Rome with a musician, in 1518 AD, and Satguru stayed in Mussoleum-F of Old St.Peter’s Basillica. Satguru advocated to Leo-X, (the Pope) “Liberty of Slavery”. He told the Pope that nobody has the right to enslave others. Almighty Satguru told the worthy Pope that every human being has the same blood in his or her veins. Satguru discussed in detail the “Missionario Humantario (Universal Human Mission). [by courtesy of Ufficio Scavi, Vatican, Rome, dated March 2, 2013] “Sanctus Nanacus Di Indi, Prima Gorium Di Secta, Avec Musei”, Meaning thereby, Saint Satguru Nanak Sahib, the First Guru of the Sikhs, with a musician, came to Rome and others towns of Italy in the last week of May, 1520 [by courtesy of the office of Scavi (Ufficio Scavi) Saturday (Sabato), dated March 2, 2013]. Thomas Nelson, US Ambassador to Italy, (1913-19), confirms from Vatican records that Satguru Nanak visited Florence, Gobbio etc. [by courtesy of “Nelson’s Encyclopaedia, 1913] East India Company of U.K, confirms Ek-Oankar in Gurmukhi Script, on the dome of St. Peter's Basillica, Vatican. This Co. got this information from "Papel Briefs of June 1518. (ref " House of Commons Papers, published in 1841, PP 190 & "Christian Disciple", 1814). 29. I would like to point out that there is an error in this post. "Guru Nanak Dev Ji’s visit to Rome, Italy in the year 1520. The Vatican FINALLY confirms the visit of Il Prima Guru Dei Sikhs, the first Guru of the Sikhs. Ufficio Papa (office of the Pope) confirms about Satguru Nanak Sahib visit to Rome and other towns of Italy (by courtesy of Pope Benedict-12 and his Arch-Bishop, Dom Jose Ronaldo Rebeiro dated Feb 27, 2013)........" NOTE: It cannot be Pope Benedict - 12 as he died in 1342 before Nanak went to Rome and it should be Pope Benedict XVI who is alive and was alive in 2013 when the admission from the Vatican was signed. This error really must be corrected as it makes your claims seem false. regards CrystaL Jordan - Australian Indian Historical Society Inc.

  33. There is historical evidence that Guru Nanak Dev Ji travelled as far as Turkey. Turkey is known as the gateway to Europe and only a stones throw away from Italy. If Guru Ji visited the centre of islam (Mecca/medina) and visited hindu centres of Hardwar and Banaras and travelled into Nepal where the buddhists still remember Him, then there is no reason why Guru Ji shouldn't have visited the centre of Christianity. I have heard rumours that in the vaults of the Vatican there are records that two holy men visited from the east............

  35. vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!! Sarbloh Granth IS originally a "secret text" kept within Akali Nihangs. Sarbloh Granth is the embodiments of 'Bir Ras' (warrior essence). With the contemplation of Sarbloh Guru Durbar, ‘Chandi sda chri rhendi heh’ meaning, one is always intoxicated in the spirit of war against ignorance. Thus it was from the Sarbloh Guru Durbar that the Khalsa of the Misl Period drew its greater strength and prowess. That is why Sarbloh Guru Durbar was the most secret and guarded of Sikh religious texts. Englishmen like Malcolm easily managed to procure the Adi Guru Granth and take it to Calcutta to study it. Colebrooke even managed to get his scheming hands on the Dasam Guru Durbar as well. However, the Sarbloh Guru Granth Ji because of it being guarded deep in the sanctuary of the Akali Nihang Dals, nevermind getting a hand on it, no invader never even heard of its existance. Apart from Bhai Kahn Singh Nabha in general nobody ever got around to commenting on the Sarbloh Guru Durbar. The present day offspring of Tat Khalsa Singh Sabha, the S.G.P.C. is also quiet about Sarbloh Guru Durbar. The language of Sarbloh Guru Durbar is so difficult to understand, and the text until recently was also not available to modern Sikh scholars. Modern scholars in large numbers wanted it. But soon enough the Budha Dal simply gave copies to millions and to this day every cent of the money made from the purchasing of the sacred granth is used to produce more granths to be available. Didar Singh Khjal in his teacher, Baba Thakur Singh, wrote a sanctioned book that speaks of Akali Nihang Baba Gurbakhsh Singh’s handwritten copy of Sarbloh Guru Granth: ‘Baba Gurbakhsh Singh Ji like Baba Deep Singh Ji Shahid made hand written copies of Sikh scriptures and small liturgy booklets and sent them to appropriate places. His handwritten copy of Siri Sarbloh Granth Sahib is also mentioned before 1920 it was at the Gurdwara Shahid Ganj at the place of martyrdom of Baba Gurbakhsh Singh but then during Akali agitation [1920-1925] it was lost by the old lady who served there.’ vwihgurU jI kw Kwlsw! vwihgurU jI kI &iqh!!

  39. according to Bhai Gurdas Ji, Guru Nanak Dev Ji went to nou khand which means everywhere. In 1975 In the final months of Baba Ishar Singh Ji Rara Sahib Walae used to go around a park in Wolverhampton in England numerous times reciting bani. After they had done so they would go and sit facing a tree and bow to it. Many Sikhs had seen this and eventually plucked up the corouge to ask why this was part of their daily routine. Baba Ji stated that whilst in that city Guru Nanak Dev Ji sat under that tree and got shade from it while they prayed. Unfortunatly many attempts have been made to get the land however the council state it is recreational property and not for sale so it seems to be like talking to a brick wall. Baba Amar Singh Ji and the late Baba Madhsoodhan Singh Ji have told us that Guru Nanak Dev ji have visited leicester and can show us the spot however we have not persued the matter in case we have the same problem as the sikhs in wolverhampton I am sure in the cities that you live in Guru Sahib have been there as well
