Maybe because Jats are the only remaining group who are still actively alpha amongst the Sikh community.  We could also ask why are Jats the only group to aggressively take on Delhi in the protests.

3 houses directly opposite our houses have been broken into!  It was the South Asian houses that were broken into not Whites! 

Robbers know South Asian homes have gold.

Well, I guess this would be the best option given the circumstances. 

They have no real stake in Punjab and being a mercantile community they do not see it in their interests.

However, they may not agree with Khalistan but they will not openly or covertly go against other Sikhs .

There are times when I disagree with other Sikhs but I will not go against them to benefit another community.

Better to be indifferent than to be detrimental.

Also on that note, certain pendu Juts need to acknowledge and admit their own role in creating a caste based apartheid system in the villages of Panjab, that has led to hordes of people from previously Sikh backgrounds to convert to other faiths. Bravo......

Juts struggle with with accepting nonjuts as equals. Some twisted notion of supremacism is a norm, even if a handful of western educated juts claim to not believe in it (and make no difference to the situation anyway). There is systemic abuse and oppression of Mazhbhis by juts. Girls are abused too.  

They love alcohol and have deeply embedded caste based politics in even premier Sikh institutions, where they buy people's votes off with alcohol no less.  

Self-aggrandising to delusional levels seem to be a norm amongst them (look at all the videos and songs......), and they consistently fail to face up to the negative effects they have on the panth - to the point where they've actually decreased numbers by treating others so bad that they have left the panth. To top that all off, from what I'm hearing from relatives back home - hordes of juts themselves are converting to christianity now - for some perceived benefits. Juts dominate Panjabi politics, it only stands to reason that the current state of affairs on the ground there is the fruits of their own endeavors. 

And I've worked with Panjabi juts in construction quite a bit - so you can't tell me that I don't know their habits. They routinely rip each other off (not paying wages after getting work done). 

Before attempting a 'progressive approach' at least have a solid understanding of the problem - which is rooted in the cultural norms being practiced.

It's ridiculous to constantly try and highlight the jut contribution to the Khalistani lehar, whilst failing to acknowledge that those at the forefront of brutally suppressing it, were mainly juts themselves, who outnumbered the kharkus. That's what's worrying now. If it kicks off, how many sociopathic juts will join ranks with the gorment and do what they did during the 80s/90s?

    • There is simply no reason to do agan bhet (tribute to the fire). There are ways of repairing books. (Yeah, I know Gutka Sahib is not a mere book, but I'm just talking about the technology of binding.) I have no clue why your soul doesn't agree to do path on that Gutka Sahib. Do you think it has been sullied? Even if you wrote Gurbani on something that was ritually impure, that would make it pure: ਤਰ ਤਾਰਿ ਅਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਕਰਿ ਮਾਨੀਐ ਰੇ ਜੈਸੇ ਕਾਗਰਾ ਕਰਤ ਬੀਚਾਰੰ ॥ ਭਗਤਿ ਭਾਗਉਤੁ ਲਿਖੀਐ ਤਿਹ ਊਪਰੇ ਪੂਜੀਐ ਕਰਿ ਨਮਸਕਾਰੰ ॥੨॥ The palmyra palm tree is considered as impure and so are deemed its leaves to be. But if the Lord's praise be written on it, we worship it and bow before it. p1293   Similarly, Guest Komal, for whatever you think the pages of the Gutka Sahib became "impure" by falling on the ground, it is still pure. Get it out of your head. The very Gurbani you're reciting says so. This is not to say that you should throw dirt on purpose on a Gutka sahib. It is only to say you shouldn't burn a Gutka for your mistake.

If you're in the company of non-practicing Sikhs, they'll generally let you do your thing (Nitnem, Reharas, whatever). It's not like you're asking "Hey, mind if I do Namaz?" Or "I'm fasting for Ramadan". You're part of the same religion, though they're not strict about it. 4. What the Mullahs do is, first they get you into their religion. Then they indoctrinate the kids into Jihad. Why can't we do the same (indoctrinate into Bhagti, not Jihad)?
    • But that's not what he was saying. He was saying that certain among us not only compromised with maryada while working for the new masters, but also -during off hours,  -after retiring from service, and -worst of all, passed on those compromises to following generations as a kind of baseline   The only true baseline for maryada is the maryada of Guru Gobind Singh ji.
    • For some reason, many Sikhs insist "Sikhism isn't a missionary religion". Leave aside the word "missionary", I think what they mean is you're never supposed to tell anybody about the greatness of Guru Nanak Dev ji. That's not true. I mean Gurbani says at multiple places Sikhs are supposed to encourage others to recite the Name: ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਵਹੁ ॥ ਆਪਿ ਜਪਹੁ ਅਵਰਹ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਾਵਹੁ ॥ Remember, remember, remember the Name and obtain peace. Thyself repeat the Name and make others to repeat it.   That's from Sukhmani Sahib, so there's no excuse for not knowing that verse.
    • You should do the aggan bhaet and then purchase a new gutka sahib.
