Waheguru Ji ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji ki fateh, As a new member a bit about myself. I was 17 when I got baptised. 11 years on wards I have, so far, enjoyed every minute of it. STILL am! with kirpa. BUT you have not clicked this post to read about this am sure? So let's got on with the title. Why Sikhs should not gamble... In late August 2015 I had came up with an idea, to gamble online. I had known it is against the rehat especially for Amritdhaaris. It even states in SGGS "Gamblers, adulterers leave this world barefooted/ empty handed" (referring to NOTHING good can come out of it in the long run), whether you lost a couple of thousands or made millions from less …

Was looking around the internet and came a Swami who apparently lived for 280 years. Wiki says he was born in the year 1607. This means he was around, or atleast a child during the times of Sri Guru Hargobind Sahib Ji and was in India during Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji Maharaj's shaheedi, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj establishment of the Khalsa and their battles, rise of Banda Singh Bahadur, the ghallugharas/misl era, the Sikh raj, and the British Raj. How crazy is that?

Part 1 I have started reading my english tika by Sant ji and it is very deep. I will quote some parts I really liked. The Importance of Japji Sahib Kavi Santhok Singh Ji says about Japji Sahib In the way a rice husk is useless without a grain of rice, a Sikh is useless without having memorized Japji Sahib. Guru Nanak Dev Ji says to Guru Angad Dev Ji those who recite Japji Sahib with their heart will gain a seat close to me. Guru Ji also says The individual who forgets Jap Ji knowing it divinity is commiting sucide by jumping into the lowest pits of hell When Guru Tegh Bhadur was going to acced to sachkhand he recited Japji Sahib and his head…

Some of the Indian prisoners captured in North Africa by the Nazis were given a choice to join the Free Indian Legion, similar to the Indian National Army which was used by the Japanese. They were not in the same numbers as the INA and were mainly used for guard duties and some were based on Hitler's Atlantic wall waiting for the allied invasion. Here are some pictures of the Sikh soldiers in the FIL.

Sikhi is one of the fastest growing religions with 125,000 (2016) adherents in Australia, having grown from 12,000 in 1996, 17,000 in 2001 and 26,500 in 2006. Punjabi is the 13th most common language in Australia. 81% of Punjabi speakers are Sikhs, 13.3% are Hindus and 1.4% are Muslims. (Circa 1908. Panjabi Sikh immigrants at Adelaide port, Australia) 1830s–1901 Sikh men have a longer history in Australia as the women arrived much later. The earliest Sikhs arrived in Australia from Panjab province in the late 1830s. There was a demand for manual labour due to slowing convict transportation. Since many Sikhs came from agrarian backgrounds, they worked…

On reading on a few Sakhias of Sikh Saints (FTR they followed SGGS and Tenth Guru's bachan to the core by the reads of it) I learned the morning Nitnem is different. Why the change? We're not talking one biography only but 3-4 sakhia of Saints pre 80's time. The Bania are Japji, Shabd Hazare, Asa D Vaar, Sukhmani sahib and Anand Sahib full. Wheras today the Mandatory it's Japji, Jaap, Tav Prasad, Chaupai and Anand Sahib full. So what caused the changes?

Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh From Tapoban phorum In 1704 when the army of emperor Aurangzeb had laid siege to Anandpur fortress and two of its generals Zabardast Khan and Wajir Khan were playing chess under the shade of a tree while others watched the game, Guru Gobind Singh Ji stood on top of the fortress wall and watched this scene through a telescope. Guru Ji took an arrow from his quiver, strung it hard on his bow and shot it across the fields towards the assembly. Down came the whizzing arrow striking hard into the wooden leg of the manji (indian bed) where the generals sat. The two generals who were engrossed in the game became panicky when they fe…
