There is not a lot of sangat where I live, my family and I were thinking of relocating to the West Midlands. In what areas can you get the best quality of life? i.e. Low crime areas, good houses, good schools etc We want to live in a place from which we could travel to all the various programs that happen, but at the same time like above need the area to be good. Would appreciate any help! thanks

I want to marry somebody religious but im not very religious but i honestly do believe that im a good hearted person who does try and follow sikhism as best as i can. I just dont go the Gurdwara or know everything about sikhism. I come from a fairly traditional family so whilst i dont know everything about the history of Sikihism, I do know what we are not supposed to be doing (dating, smoking , eating beef, hair etc). I just dont really have much in common with the more open boys of my age group.

Hi I'm a 19 year old punjabi girl in the UK. Not the best of sikhs, neither the most informed. But not an ignorant lost girl. I haven't managed to ruin my life and neither do i have massive family problems persay. I'm not here to justify why i want to run away from home, neither am i asking advice on how to deal with my home situation. I just want to know, from the sangat, if anyone has ever run away from home. What preparations they made? What was their destination? Did they manage to survive successfully? Were they tracked? How did they set about creating a new life? This is a serious post, hopefully the Mods can appreciate that. And yes, i do plan to leave alone. …

i dont really know how to start this.. I have known this muslim girl for 7 years and we have become very very close. I recently began to develop feelings for her but at the same time i am into Sikhi by going to AKJ smagams, camps etc. For a while i stopped texting and phoning her but now she has started contacting me just when i had got over her... I am really scared and i dont know what to do as my parents are into Sikhi as well and my feelings would bring shame to the family.. what should i do? any advice from GurSikhs please would be very very appreciated. I'm posting here because its the only place I'm allowed to post since I was banished to the wilderness. So....reading through the thread about the 'Brar' geezer, I feel it my duty to get you younger ones thinking a bit. I know central London well. I know the west end better than I know myself. There's some things I know fairly well and some things I know very very well. I know very well that anybody that is on Old Quebec Street very late at night has either just come out of the big gambling den Casino there or is just going in. I also know very well that street muggers from all over London target rich looking people on Old Quebec Street for the same reason, as you don't f…

1. Can a non-amritdhari achieve liberation and become one with God? If so, why become amritdhari and wear the 5K's? 2. If a person smokes, drinks, chases girls, cuts hair, eats meat, etc....but still does good deeds and remembers God, can they achieve liberation/salvation? 3. For those who believe in hell/heaven (Christians, Muslims), do they also suffer from the 8.4 million rebirths or do they end up in heaven or hell after death?

Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Vaheguru Ji Ke Fateh Why shouldn't I kill myself? I wish my soul never existed to be in this cycle of life and death. I feel like I don't deserve to be happy, and that Vaheguru Ji hates me. Why did He bother with me? My eyes well up when I think of how much I've let down my Guru, and how I'll never experience Gursikhi Jeevan. I'll get worse. I feel like I won't get any help in my life because I am a waste. My Guru is disappointing with me. No one sees any hope in me. I simply don't care anymore, I might as well add to my bad deeds by killing myself in every life because what is the point of never being happy in the life I am livi…

Fateh, Basically to the point i am not amritdhari, but i do not cut my hair or eat meat or anything. Me and this girl are really close to each other and i think we will be going out very soon. But she does cut her hair and eat meat. But she does know things about sikhism and khalistan and stuff. What are your opinions on this? Fateh

Hey, Just read a couple of the posts below and am curious to what girls think of moving into the in-laws house after marriage? Is it something you want to do? Is it something you will do but you dont really want to? Do you want to get your own place? And how would you deal with that adjustment - ie, if you dont get the space and peace you used to have before marriage?
