  2. Numbers matter in today's world the days of minorities ruling over a a majority are long gone.

  3. Unfortunately quality over quantity worked when these nation states did not exist. Now we live in this so called democracy where everything is dependent on numbers so it's very harmful for us. Why were hindus able to elect Rajiv Gandhi after 1984 with majority? Your enemy who outnumbers you will vote in policies that are harmful to you.

  4. Thought experiment time. Would you give up sikhi for Christianity or any other faith. I'll assume 'no'. So were these folks really 'sikh'? Or just born/married into a 'sikh' family etc? We need to move away from the 'numbers' thing to a 'quality' thing. These folks switching is also to a great extent our own fault. If you go to the Panjab you'll see the way so called 'sikh' treat fellow Sikhs or those they deem lower caste etc. I've found it disgusting and I don't blame those folks for taking up an 'offer' from missionaries who say they'll treat them as equals etc. It's not just the Christians who are easy to spot it all the quasi Baba sects around Punjab too that go these folks who'll potentially switch. Just look at some the 'baba' events on YouTube you'll see 10s of thousands in attendance. On the flip side you do have plenty of examples of folks switching to proper sikhi in the Panjab.

  5. Doaba is being targeted by missionaries. After Gurdaspur and Amritsar, Jalandhar has the 3rd highest percentage of Christians (1.19%) followed by Firozpur, Hoshiarpur and Kapurthala. Smallest percentage of Christians is in central and south Malwa (Barnala, Mansa, Sangrur, Bathinda, Muktsar Sahib, Faridkot all below 0.20%).

Vaheguru ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh Happy fathers day to all, but while celebrating fathers day, let us not forget our father, Dhan Dhan Sahib Sri Guru Gobind Singh Sahib Jio Maharaj, Kalgidhar Patshah. Let us all just take 5 minutes of our time and do Simran or mool mantar for the strength of our bond with Guru Sahib and may this bond never break! May Our Father bless us with such kirpa that we never forget our Sikhi and Guru Sahibs sacrifices. May Guru Sahib bless all of us and keep us in Chardikala and bless us with kirpa.? Dhan Guru Gobind Singh Ji Maharaj! Bole So Nihaal! Sat Sri Akaaaal !!!! Bhul Chuk Maf Ji Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh!

  7. Mool Mantar is an extremely important Shabad for us, Sache Patshah gave it to the Sikhs as the first Shabad and its the first Shabad in Guru Granth Sahib Ji. With Mool Mantar everything can be accomplished, all desires are fulfilled, das remembers hearing a katha about the Jeevan of a Mahapurakh, the Mahapurakh used to get darshan every single day and he used to spend the whole day doing mool mantar, one day a sangat asked him, " Khalsa ji, why do you spend all your time doing mool mantar? You have darshan every day, what more is there to accomplish?" The Mahapurakh smiled and said " How can I leave the mool mantar that Guru Nanak Dev Ji so lovingly gave us?" Many times das has noticed, people tend to turn to mool mantar only when they have problems and after the problem is over they stop, or reduce the amount of mool mantar. We should never do this. We should never abandon the mool mantar given by Sache Patshah. Mool mantar is so powerful, das would like to make a humble request to the sangat to please do mool mantar every day. Try to include it in your nitnem and just see how much anand and peace the mool mantar gives and how it changes our lives. At least try to do 1 mala mool mantar a day, it is extremely powerful. Bhul Chuk Maf Ji, Vaheguru Ji Ka Khalsa Vaheguru Ji Ki Fateh!?

  10. I am sure most of you know the story about Akali Phula Singh sentencing Ranjit Singh to be whipped allegedly for marrying a Muslim dancer. Why was it on this one occasion that Ranjit Singh was deemed to have crossed the line? In particular, why was his general drunkenness and womanizing tolerated?

  11. Flippin' 'ell sis. After what feels like years of getting sl@gged off for it, I'm in shock someone actually appreciates all that ithihaasic khoj. I don't think we originally suppressed it, rather it was part and parcel of the colonial agenda/strategy to 'tame' Sikhs post 'annexation'. I can't see how us getting familiar with and discussing our true ithihaas can be a negative in the long run. It may well cause a temporary bumpy ride for a bit I guess, whilst heavily, multi-generationally brainwashed apnay are forced to reconsider what they thought was historically true (that's if they have enough brains to even do this), but that's a price worth paying imo. What's the alternative? Feeding our own communities propaganda as if it was our true ithihaas? In this 'information age' any intelligent apna or apnee can now look at Sikh-ithihaas in a way never possible before. So even if people wanted to hide the truth, they'd struggle to do it with anyone even half-intelligent who goes out there to learn without blinkers. This causes further schisms. We can say with hindsight, the hawkish belligerent attitudes of Akali nihangs in Ranjit Singh's time were bang on point. They knew what was going down ahead of time in terms of the subsequent 'annexation', and weren't swayed by the lure of pay offs from the 'feringnhees'. Also, people don't really know how intimidating many Akalis were to the newly formed elite. They were like the alphas of the quom, ready to be shaheed for it, ready to confront the elites too. Personally I think the puratan mindset was better. Modern reformed thing just seems like dualistic abrahamic soch, mixed with victorian era thinking to me? Totally unstimulating. Spiritually dead. Mentally subordinate to eurocentric thought and struggling to come from out of it's influence.

  12. Did Moran adopt Sikhi after marriage to Maharaja Ranjit Singh? Did Maharaja Ranjit Singh build a Masjid (Masjid-e-Tawaifan) for her before their marriage or after? Deeply spiritual, Moran had a spiritual guide called Mian Jaan Mohammad of Laverian, who told her that a madrasa would benefit more people than a masjid. Manveen describes how Moran was instrumental in setting up a school for Persian and Arabic studies for students who would be spared the trouble of travelling all the way to Persia. 13. The concept of being sehajdhari and nanakpanthi was big. Religion back in the day was more about allegiance than following it to the letter. Amrit shako, kes rakho wasn't a big rally cry. Think about it a century before ranjit singh, it would be ridiculous to begging ppl to take amrit when they could be killed tortured for it. It was imperative that you do it of your own free will. And because ranjit Singh was from a Sikh family, maybe that was enough to be Sikh.

The credit goes to @dallysingh101 and Sikh awareness forum ofc. Showcasing of the puritan ithihaas thru olden granths, historical/contemporary accounts was a major wake up call to Sikhs. Ofc it might also be due to nihangs. Their bringing back all the things we had successfully repressed...time will tell if it's a good thing..

  16. musli-yudh presents a real danger of Islamification of the offspring. Last thing you want is some half breed laying claim to the khalsa raaj throne with the help of rangarhs and pathaans. Akalis were strict about all things related to Islam and keeping its influence at bay. Sardars were not strict rehitvaans all across the board, but they pledged allegiance to the Panth, and that was good enough from a political perspective.

  17. Please, don't underestimate the impact of discrimination. Systemic discrimination leads to revolts and revolutions. We descend from people who've done this ourselves. But many of our people have become the very thing we fought against now. Any people with any sense of dignity would not quietly take discrimination. They might quietly tolerate it when not in a position to directly challenge it, but they will be building up movements to resist. Never excuse it or try and rationalise it away, or you'll just be compounding the problem. I'm genuinely shocked at how many juts seem perplexed at why certain castes, who they deem beneath them, and who they have a systemic relationship of oppression with, leave the panth. Certain people must be really deranged to actually think that these people should put up with it for the sake of their 'religion'. The whole Sikhi thing was largely to combat this very Manusmitri bahmunhistic thinking. What shocks me the most though, is how even educated, seemingly intelligent juts raised in diasporas, outside of the dark confines of the pend, still think this way.

  18. http://sikhsangat.org/2014/shaheed-bhai-surinder-singh-ji-sodhi/ Bhai Surinder Singh Sodhi was the bravest of soldiers of Khalsa Panth in 20th century, forever ready to lay down his life for Panth, always tyar bar tyar to punish any Panth-dokhi, guru-nindak and carry out justice for Shaheed singhs who were killed in illegal police custody or encounters. Bhai sahib had darshan of Sant Jarnail Singh ji Khalsa in 1980. He was with Misal Shaheeda Tarna Dal, Harian wela then, doing sangat of Baba Nihal Singh ji. His close friend, Bhai Manbir Singh chaheru, had joined Taksal in 1980 and Sodhi had gone to Tarna Dal, but soon he joined ranks of Sant Jarnail Singh ji Khalsa and vowed to remain with him till his last breath. He was a Charhdi Kala Gursikh, jovial, helpful and always imbued in Naam Baani. He carried out ‘Chalisa’ in Parikarma of Sri Harimandir sahib and had an 8 hour long Nitnem. He went in Samadhi many times during those years, getting up after 3-4 days. A heavenly fragrance was always emanating from his body, as was the case with Sant ji too. Gursikhs who have been with him told me that he was the one loved most by Santji, for his Spiritual awastha, his dedication, his love. Every word of Santji was like God’s command for him. He had piercing eyes, capable of seeing inside the mind of next person. No traitor ever passed his glance. He was a Handsome Gursikh, and Santji called him ‘Babbu’ with love. Whole Jatha of Damdami Taksal loved him, respected him and listened to his orders. From 1980 to 14th april 1984, he remained a dedicated soldier of Khalsa Panth, punishing traitors of Khalsa Panth. Bhai Surinder Singh ji Sodhi, The Brave heart was once given a special message by Santji to be delivered to a Singh in a nearby village. But there was police cordon around Sri Amritsar and no one could pass without being checked. Sodhi took one of the most extraordinary routes to that village, he took his favourite ‘’Bullet’’ motorcycle on the railway tracks and drove it on tracks to reach that village. Villagers around Amritsar who had seen this feat still remember the day Sodhi did this, For Santji. He was the one who got inside Punjab legislative assembly and shot secretary of Punjab Government who had issued oppressive orders against Panthic Singhs. BJP MLA, Harbans laal Khanna, who had carried out a violent procession of Hindus in Amritsar, which broke Model of Sri Darbar sahib at Amritsar railway station, threw cigarettes in face of Guru Ram Daas ji’s photo and gave out slogans like ‘’ Kacchh Kara Kirpaan, ehnu bhejo Pakistan’’, Dukki tikki rehan nai deni, Sir te Pagri rehan nai deni’’, was punished by Bhai sahib ji in a week’s time, when he was sitting in his shop with his bodyguards. Other singh involved in this action was Bhai labh singh ji. List of Bhai sahib’s courageous acts is very long, and I’ll share with you all in due time. Bhai sahib ji was the most trusted soldier of Santji and never went against his orders. Enemy of Sikhs, Bhajan laal who had committed atrocities on Sikhs and got Sikhs killed in panipat was on the Hit-list of Singhs. Sodhi was sent for this mission by Santji, but on a condition. He was to shoot Bhajan laal ‘only’ if he could make it back to Santji. Sodhi, guised as a Navy officer, reached his office, sat with him and had tea. There were policemen and commandoes all around Bhajan laal. Sodhi called Santji and said it’s my last Fateh. I’m going to finish the Dusht but I’m not coming back. Santji ordered him that very moment to abort the mission and return, as he was needed. Sodhi had to return that day, and this showed how much Love and affection they both had for each other. Santji used to say ‘’ He is my son, not only in this life but from ages’’. Enemies within Sikhs, people like Longowal, Badal were working against Santji. They comspired to get Santji and Sodhi killed. Assassins were paid Rs.50 lakhs for killing Santji and 25 lakhs to kill Surinder Singh Sodhi. Government agencies wanted Sodhi out at any cost. They knew how much important he was for Sant Jarnail Singh ji, how he was his right-hand man, his trouble-shooter. They planned to handicap Santji by killing Sodhi. There was a big fear among agencies, as they knew that Surinder Singh sodhi was trained in Anti-tank mines and Anti-tank missiles. In case of an operation by the Army, he would have proved a big hurdle in getting to Santji and Akaal Takhat. So Longowal, his secretary Gurcharan, and Agencies of government paid 25 lakh rupees to a known smuggler Surinder Shinda and his keep baljit kaur. On 14th april 1984, Baljit called Sodhi to a tea shop near parikarma on pretext of sharing her problem with him, as she had convinced him that she looked upon him as her brother and wanted him to rescue her from the custody of Shinda. As Sodhi came in tea shop and sat, she started talking. Shinda appeared and shot bullets in Bhai sahib’s chest, but he didn’t fell and tried taking out his revolver. Then both of them shot at Bhai Sahib from their revolvers. Bhai sahib took 12 bullets in his body and fell down. As he lay in pool of blood, the assassins ran away. News of Sodhi’s Shaheedi spread like a jungle fire, and Santji was deeply pained. His words were ‘Today my Right arm has been cut, I’ve lost my beloved son, my Tiger has been killed, but killers should remember, I’m still alive’’. A plate was hanged on the door of Guru Ramdas langar, on which Sodhi’s killers were promised to be punished in 24 hours. And Singhs did take revenge of Sodhi’s shaheedi in 24 hours, punishing all the people involved in Shaheedi of Bhai Surinder singh Sodhi. Kesri Parnaam to Veer Sodhi Bhai sahib’s life is an example of spirit of Khalsa. In 18th century, it was Bhai Sukha Singh, who is still remembered for his brave and daring acts, for punishing panth-dokhis. Bhai Shaib was Sukha Singh of 20th century. He was a true soldier, A Sant, gurmukh, Abhyasi of Naam baani, believed in Panthic unity and ever ready to lay down his life for cause of panth. His name struck fear in hearts of enemies of Panth, and a wave of Charhdi kala in minds of gursikhs. He’ll be an inspiration for Sikh youth for ages to come. Khalsa panth will always remember ‘Tiger of Santji’ for his Supreme Sacrifice. Sri Akaal ji Sahai

  19. See, what I find very interesting is that you haven't answered a single point of the thread you are quoting, and you're just making outlandish claims, all of which have been refuted multiple times, in this thread and others. If you are so sure about your religion, then let's have that debate. You previously attacked the authenticity of the Bible, to which I openly asked if you'd like to discuss the authenticity of the Quran. Unsurprisingly, you haven't even responded to that, and you're just taking unnecessary digs. It's okay, i get it. I guess I'd be scared too if I didn't have a leg to stand on, especially when "the standard narrative has holes in it" (if you know, you know?). Looking forward to hearing from you very soon...

  20. The fact that you as a Muslim spend your time on a Sikh forum EVERYDAY is all the answers I personally need bro. Please don't be speaking about women... You talk a lot, but we all know the relationship of Islam and women. I could speak about Muhammad, I could speak about the various different Hadiths that show his actions. But why would I wanna do that? What's the point? Why not spend time to make yourself into a better person. Do something productive because you clearly have nothing else going for yourself. It's pretty evident. Your lack of research is really showing. Unlike you, we don't need to prove our dharam to no one. That's what all you Abrahamic religions don't understand. You got Muslims trying to make the Quran into a science textbook, when in reality it's constantly getting challenged by various academics. I mean look at Yasir Qadhi. Already questions regarding the preservation of the Quran saying the narrative has holes in it. But that's a whole different topic that your Ummah should discuss. Arguing gets you literally nowhere, essentially wasting time on earth when you could spend that time helping the various struggling Muslim communities across the world right now. The same time you could spend connecting to god. Think about the culture within India before the Gurus arrived. Yeah, Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji Maharaj could have done all that. Unlike Islam, Sikhi is WAY deeper. In every level. Only people in Islam who kinda got it right are the Sufis. Yet, you people belittle them. The Gurus LEAD by example. They offered a blueprint to their Sikhs on how to actually experience god. However, it was hukam. The command of Akal Purakh that there would be 10 Gurus, yet the message remained the same and flowed through each Guru. Closed minded Abrahamics cannot understand Dharamic thinking. We don't wish for women and wine in some afterlife. We want to merge back into Akal Purakh. While the West was rich with materialistic things the Indian subcontinent was rich in spirituality. Always has been. This is where it originated from. You think Waheguru is an Indian supremacist? Just because the Gurus were born in the Indian subcontinent? Where was the identity of Indian at during that time period? Let's apply that thinking towards Islam shall we? I believe the whole religion of Islam is an Arab supremacist religion. The Arabs spread their religion onto other countries. You adopted Arabic words that were around WAY before Islam, such as the word Allah. Adopted Arab clothing, read Arabic scriptures, speak Arabic, pray towards an Arab shrine located in Saudi Arabia which was originally a center for the various Arab pagan gods. Islam is an ARAB religion. Why? Because it was established in ARABIA. IT HAD TO START SOMEWHERE. And yet do Arabs consider Pakistanis or anyone else as their equals? The answer is no. That's pretty evident. I grew up Arabs and you should hear the things they say about Pakistanis, Afghans and anyone else who isn't Arab. Most of these guys are really interested in Sikhi. It's you non Arabs who have an inferiority complex towards them.

  21. That's correct. Just like the 125,000 prophets of Allah SWT were all male. But I will ask you again, since you brought it up: Women can do kirtan, katha, dhadi waran, paath and ardas in sangat. Just like men. Women are allowed to become members of the Gurdwara Management System. In your mosque women have to pray behind a screen. Are women allowed to read prayers for the muslim sangat in the mosque? Are women allowed to run Mosques? I've never seen or heard of 1 female Qazi, Mullah, Mufti or Imam. Why? Maybe this time you will have the decency to answer? This just shows how little you know of Panjabi culture. If a woman was in such a marriage, her brothers and father would just bring her back home and then get her remarried to a better match. Simply by taking her out of the married home, the marriage would be annulled. But I have never heard of any such occurences. Women doted on their husbands and Guru Sahib has aslo instructed Sikh men never to neglect their spouses, and always take their counsel. Divorce was only recommended by Allah, the best of planners, because he knew how much Prophet Mohammad PBUH pined to bone Zaid's wife. His daughter-in-law. So then the surah was revealed and there was one happy Prophet. The prime example of man. I am. Ask me anything, but be prepared to field some questions yourself. Well me dear neighbour, I have to say the same about you. You have made several posts yet failed to answer the question on the sophia mosque topic for around 10 days.

  22. Hell? Hmmm, not sure how to answer that as Sikhs don't believe in hell or heaven as permanent constructs. We see them more as trying to scare people into beleiving. You know, like detention in school if you were naughty? Doesn't work neighbour. You SHOULD know that. After all didn't the "best amongst men" the rasool of Allah, Prophet of Islam, Mohammad PBUH divide his time equally amongst his wives and then break that? Didn't the Prophet of Islam, the "best amongst men" aslo direct his wife to her father's house so he could then give one-to-one revelations to her slave girl? Please note neighbour, I never said anything about an even split. Just quoting your own scriptures and sunnah to you. Women can do kirtan, katha, dhadi waran, paath and ardas in sangat. Why? No we don't. In all of Sikhi, this is the only place where women don't take part. Need some more women in the Panj Pyare I say Neither does circumcision. So what? The concept of family is very important in Gurmat. Family life/houselholder is the highest form of living. Why would we want divorce thrown in there, when we can see how destructive divorce is? Divorce ruins families, causes suicides, causes depression. Sikh laws? Our basic laws are Naam Japna, Kirt karni and Wand shakna. We don't need laws to connect us with our Creator, the way you need to be told to out your right foot into a trouser leg first, or else astaghfirullah! Allah will consign you to the lowest hell. Make sure you get that right foot in first neighbour. Or else you may end up in the wrong part of the 50. Well the "most perfect example of mankind" the holy prophet of islam Mohammad PBUH did get his son to divorce his wife, so he could marry her himself. Mohammad PBUH was ahead of the curve there wasn't he. Hopefully you will also divorce your wife, so your father can marry her. And then your son can divorce his wife, so you can marry her. Be proud of Allah's rasool PBUH.

  23. Your comment about the reliability of the New Testament intrigues me. What about the reliability of the Quran? Do you honestly believe that it hasn't been changed? If you like, we can open up another thread and discuss it further, as I'd rather not derail this thread (though by the looks of things, it already has). No insults, no mud slinging, just pure facts on the authenticity of the Quran. What do you say? I look forward to your response...

  26. When you see those videos, I know there are these types in our side of Punjab as well but not to the same extent. There are elements of Punjabi culture that us post-partition Punjabis are not familiar with because we are not exposed to the muslim part of Punjabi culture which would have been familiar to our grandparents. I think we have an image of Punjab being a clean and wholesome compared to the "decadent" west but clearly there is a lot of decadence in Punjabi culture. This is non-western decadence. I imagine pre-partition (in grandparents generation or even great-grandparents generation) where a bunch of lads from Jalandhar get on a train to go to Lahore to check out Heera Mandi like some boys would go to Soho for the peep shows. I remember my mum telling me once that someone gave her family a calendar with a courtesan dancer on it and her grandmother got rid of it because in those days courtesans were seen as prostitutes and quite smutty. It seems that the muslim part of Punjabi culture is filthier and seedier than the Sikh or even Hindu part of Punjabi culture.

  29. I like listening to Jordan Peterson lectures on his channel and Ben Shaprio and at school for world history we study the most important things in the 20th century like the world wars,Stalin,Hitler,Mao,Castro etc, though it feels so watered down. They really don't like getting into the interesting stuff that gives insight into the the secrets of the inner circles these people had (although, there's a lot of base info required beforehand which they teach). For instance, Hitler had a book in his personal library tracking the location and size of the jewish population of cities across Canada and which media was in their favor. The full article:https://nationalpost.com/news/canada/canadas-archive-buys-1944-book-that-hints-at-nazi-plans-for-north-america That's not to mention all the unknown info the nazis hid or burned in the nazi book burnings or how hitler planned to drop helicopter cash all over britain to break their economy. Anyways,I was thinking of reading Geroge Orwell's work 1984 over summer,i'll start looking into Noam Chomsky and Jon Pilger in the meantime. I agree that Alex Jones has tidbits of truth here or there like with the dangers of a.i in the future,or the government trying to make half human/animal hybrids,or experimenting with electromagnetic waves and their effect on cognitive function, but like you mentioned,he's an entertainer;exaggeration and acting is key to selling his brand. What I like to think about is who's really running the world in the background.

  32. Christiangirl great post. You seem like someone with a level head. That is right we can all learn from each other. That is what faith should be about. Understanding different faiths and seeing the beauty in them. As a Sikh I in no way want to try and make you a Sikh. Or try and persuade you our way is the best. Each person is free to decide what faith they want to believe in and as you pointed out you have chosen Christianity and that is great. That is the beauty of Sikhi we do not look down on non believers. We see all as one. The universal.brotherhood of man and woman. You are probably more intellegent and wise then alot of people on this forum. Who are lacking in common sence and wisdom.

  33. This is quite true. Respect is the key word. What each one believes or does, it is solely their outlook, the thing is not to interfere with others by trying to impose our beliefs on others. Just as if I am a doctor or like football, what or how does it affect me, if someone wnats to be and engineer or likes basketball, or any other thing. We should keep in mind, the spiritual path is not a collective one, nor does it need huge crowds to be travelled. It is an individual path, just as one is born alone and dies alone, so each one has to decide for himself or herself, what does one want to follow, or even to be an atheist; as long as one does not hurt the feelings of others, neither by belittleilng, nor by sarcasm on anyone or others faiths. As there is wise saying, one may go and pray several times a day in the different temples, churches, mosques, or places of pilgrimages, but after that, it is more important how we treat others and deal with them. Any good faith, in order to makes us progress in spirituality, neccesarily has to make us first human beings, not blind fanatics nor wicked. In sikhee, those who follow it implicitly, do understand, that if anyone is born in other religions, races , etc, is is all by the divine will and if that is so, whom to considere low or high, are they not subject to the very laws of wise Nature. Then? Why so much narrow mindedness or hatred? Who can go or turn the motion of Nature? We can not change even our destines, or our weaknesses and we are foolislhly going to convert or change others faiths? Insanity has no limits. Stay blessed. SSA

  35. Okay, I am writing a paper on Sikh identity (finally almost done after 8 months). My research question is: to what extent does the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee's definition of sikh identity affect Sehajdhari and Amritdhari Sikhs? I want to know how you were discriminated against for being sehajdhari sikhs compared to an amritdhari SIkhs. Maybe some incident where you weren't allowed to do something that Amritdhari sikhs could do simply because your sehajdhari, maybe the opposite. For instance, i talked about in my paper how sehajdhari sikhs are not allowed to vote in SGPC elections. I also talked about how some specific students in punjab were denied admission to higher level Sikh only educational institutions because it was discovered that they trimmed their kesh. This raises questions about the truly acceptable identity of a sikh. However, to strengthen my arguments, I wanted to add specific examples of this from sikhs in the diaspora. So please, I came here for this purpose. If you want to read my paper please ask. If your are interested please post your experiences here. You don't need to include your name but please include your country.

  36. Lol, it was originally meant to be a gathering of personal experiences. Btw, this is a highscool paper, not for a degree or something like that if that's what you thought. My actual "good sources" I think are worthy for academia. Mainly just the first 3, the fifth one. 2 or 3 of them are laws, or official documents. 37. I wish I found this a month or ago before the jor melas. I just started listening to it and it's awesome. The katha paints a clear picture of what happened step by step. It is better than watching tv or movies.

  39. When Maharaja Ranjit Singh ji married the Muslim dancer what did he get. Silence from every Sikh until he went to Akaal Takhat to get whipped Dating in Sikhi is not really allowed. Same issue as interfaith marriage Do you want to be with a Muslim and sacrifice your faith?

  40. After reading your post...I kept laughing for a few seconds. Imagining how you gave tough time to all those who came to convince you. And the best thing was, you knocked them out, like in boxing and came out as a champion. This is the greatness of sikhee, it gives us that much firm faith in Wahiguru as Truth, that all else is meaningless for us, and nobody can shake us. Sat Sree Akal

  41. I had seen them , they are jehovah's witness and are proud to make the effort to learn the maaboli of our peeps to spread 'the good news' . When our own cannot even translate bani/history for our own youth . Until the canadians and the punjabi sikh organisations back in India wake up and do serious parchaar and countermeasures these kind of missionary people will pick off the gullible and unknowing on both sides. Being proud of girls not getting converted to muslims is just foolishand just a sign of the immense haumai problem in Canada , we shouldn't have any sikhs abandoning sikhi anywhere ideally because it really is the best way to live hands down . Honestly these commenters need to be woken up , these bibian are coming to your house to put a cat amongst the pigeons and because we haven't furnish our kids with proper answers we leave them without surety against the doubt peddlars. My sons have told me that the muslims at their college are watching basics of sikhi so they can work on their dawah comebacks ... at the very least our kids should watch those katha and itihaas videos there so they don't get caught out .

  42. The Sikh family accepted my cousin. She follow certain tenants of Sikhi and visit gurudwara. Marring hindu is not illegal in Sikhism. Do remember the time once, 1 child of every Hindu family in Punjab/nothern india became Sikh to protect our land from invaders. Who can forget the sacrifice of Guru Tegh bahadur.

  43. What is the big deal in marrying a Hindu. My cousin is married to a Sikh boy. some people will always be paranoid about losing identity. Non stop anti Indian & anti hindu propaganda in Sikh media spread across Europe, Canada have turned Sikh paranoid of India. Happy Deepawali to our Sikh brothers and Sisters on this forum!

  44. because probably their parents are 'modern' and 'assimilated ' which translates to unpard in SIkhi and hinduised to the max . I mean my eldest was beaten up and bullied by apnay at Guru Gobind SIngh Khalsa College because of his kesh and Patka !!! Now my boys are of an age where they are noting girls around them , they have confided in me and said ' Mum all the sikh girls I know are really nasty bitchy people... where am I going to find someone nice ?' they see maturity and understanding of their gurroop from gori english and eastern european colleagues who can see beyond . Of course they have had the talk about not actioning anything if the person is not in the same direction of sikhi , so I feel torn because I have told them honestly that I don't care about colour and background as long as the girls are gursikh . So all this money chasing and ignoring roles of teacher as a parent you create the monster that is the modern desi girl, nasty, selfcentred, unintelligent temporally and spiritually, rude , atheist and there you have it someone you would not wish on anyone
