There is not a lot of sangat where I live, my family and I were thinking of relocating to the West Midlands. In what areas can you get the best quality of life? i.e. Low crime areas, good houses, good schools etc We want to live in a place from which we could travel to all the various programs that happen, but at the same time like above need the area to be good. Would appreciate any help! thanks

WJKK WJKF i know this topic has been raised a lot of times in this forum. but i really want to ask why is waxing actually not allowed for us as sikhs. i am a sikh. all my life i have alwayz abided with everything that a sikh is supposed to do. but since school because of waxing i have been denied so many things. i was very good at badminton but could not participate in the competitions because my legs were not waxed. i used to wear skirt as it was the uniform, but then was alwayz made fun of because of this all through my school life. when i enetred college boys around me started teasing me because of my upper lips and body hair. they did not even feel like talking to …

Hi, I wanted to create a topic in here as it's been on my mind a while. My parents never took me to a punjabi school etc when I was a kid (I missed out from the sounds of it) , so I shall learn through books/internet probably from a very basic level this summer as I can't read punjabi and when I've searched online I haven't quite found what i'm looking for. I would like a file explaining how to do ardaas properly, I'm not amritdhari, but I do my Nitnem and Rehras in English. I want to do ardaas everytime I'm leaving home etc and when the need requires me to do so. I would be greatful if someone could either post a link/file here with translations in order for me to do so.…

Guru Ji says no hair should be removed regardless of where is it. now you tell me 'sikh sangat jio' why im i seeing girls/women thats taken Amrith, and still remove facial hair? some of these women even wear dastaars, is this not the same as a man wid a dastaar that shaves his beard?? khalsa is falling over little things that people can not make sence of them selves!! maaf karo if i have offened anyone. Leaving aside Guru ji, the general question of taking afeem (opium) in limited quantities for war/medical wounds is simply unproblematic. When you go to the hospital, they give you morphine. What do you think morphine is? It's an opiate. Even codeine (cough syrup) is an opiate! Ever had a cough? Granted, it is against Gurmat to take opium or other drugs for the fun of it. -
Yeah, that's one possibility. Another I initially thought is that it's a Muslim trying to gather info. But then, you might ask, how does he know about Sikh textual sources. Well, you'd be surprised at their resourcefulness. A final possibility is he's a weak Sikh who was asked a question by a non-Sikh and now he's suddenly feverishly wondering where it's "written" that you can't marry a young child. To the latter, I would say, you're looking in the wrong spot. back then was waaaay different. ppl didn’t attend higher education or have much to do after the age of like… 13, lol. you’d have 13 year olds boys and girls that know how to do kethi, cook entire meals, etc nowadays even 22 year olds are extremely immature and can be sheltered. the average person doesn’t know how to do anything except their 9-5 which they are probably half arsing as well.
