1. The state apparatus is going in overdrive to spread Sikhphobia. Godi media is publishing many baseless 'Khalistanti conspiring with Pakistan' articles...seems like a powder keg they are trying to build to incite communal violence. This will be a convenient tactic to create a false enemy and vilify them come election time. Same tactic Indira/Rajiv used in 1984. Sikh leadership needs to be more vigilant, and have a dedicated PR campaign to show the masses all conspiracies are baseless and fabrications. The 'nation within a nation status' and to get the promised rights, and to enact all elements of the Anandpur Sahib Resolution is not separatist. However if you look online at the amount of brainwashed and hate-filled bhakts who are spreading more lies supported by the media, the narrative can quickly change. There are also many bad actors dressing up as 'Sikhs' spreading nonsense and I fear they will engage in false flag attacks to escalate and defame Sikhs, to justify systemic targeting and killings again. How can Sikhs raise their voices, obtain their rights, without having to incur additional losses as shown in the past?

  2. Yes Guru Nanak Dev Ji started it around a written Mool Mantar (maybe was a Pothi)?? Very first time with 4 Laavans and in front of Sangat.

  3. Aam Sikh has never been Amritdhari, which is why if our ancestors weren't Amritdhari from the start we get these sakhis where they got married by the fire, and even if they were eventually Amritdhari by either converting to Sikhi from Hinduism or by being a sehajdhari, it's not like they got remarried according to Sikhi. When Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Angad Dev Ji and Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Amar Das Ji became Sikhs it's highly unlikely that they would remarry their spouses according to Sikh rules. The thing is once someone is married the religious ceremony they performed would matter less than the actual fact that they were husband and wife. (But either way, those who are Sikhs should marry according to the Guru's hukam).

  4. I know that Baba Dyal Das' son mass introduced Anand Karaj ceremony to sehajdharis, and then the Nirankari sect performed first Anand Karaj around Guru Granth Sahib which was probably at a stage when Nirankaris were mostly keshdharis or perhaps amrit-dharis too. I am unsure at which stage Guru Granth Sahib started getting mass printed in pad-ched saroop. It would probably have been difficult to do modern style Anand Karaj when there were only a few hand written Guru Granth Sahib saroop, such as during Guru Gobind Singh's time there was literally only one Guru Granth Sahib saroop for the whole panth at one point alongside a few Adi Granth saroop. Therefore it would have been really difficult for most sikhs, even most Singhs to do an Anand karaj around Guru Granth Sahib before mass printing during colonial times, and there would have been a different ceremon back then. Even today, if someone wants to perform Anand Karaj around larrivaar saroop of Guru Granth Sahib, they would need to locate where larrivaar saroop is prakash! Maybe it was only Nihang Singhs or few Singhs who performed Anand Karaj in front of Guru Granth Sahib. I guess Nihnag Singhs took Granth Sahib saroop with them wherever they went so they can do prakash anywhere? I also thought it may have been a fire ceremony and have heard some Nihang Singhs practise this, but also below states anand Karaj in front of Guru Granth Sahib. Intrestingly though, they seem to use Anand Sahib and not laavan in this description! ‘Among the religious orders of the Sikhs in the Panjab, the Akalis may be said to preserve whatever remain of the customs of the last Guru. When they marry, they do not like the other Sikhs, call a Brahmin to perform the nuptial ceremony. A Sikh priest is summoned. He reads the Anand, or epithalamium, composed by Guru Amards. A sheet is then thrown over the bride bridegroom, the well-known chadar-dalna marriage ceremony of the Panjab. The holy Granth is used as a witness on the occasion, instead of fire, which is an invariable concomitant of Hindu marriage ceremonies, Karaparshad is then offered to the Granth, and distributed among the guests, after which the ceremony is complete. The Sikh priest, who has favoured me with this information, considers this marriage knot superior to the elaborate one of the Hindus. It is cheap, simple, and equally efficacious.’‘Western Image of the Sikh Religion, A Source Book, edited by Darshan Singh, Pa. 279-280

  5. Wedding ceremony is just about 2 people making a commitment to stay loyal to each other until death do them part. Hindu tradition of walking around fire is because fire is considered an ultimate power (cos it can burn anything). So it’s supposed to remind you if you break the promise you’ll get punished (in hell). In Sikhi we make the promise in presence of shabad-guru, cos that’s our everything So the most important thing is the ‘promise’. You know like in court people have to hold a bible and promise to tell truth. But for a Sikh they could hold a gutka sahib. It gives the court faith this person will be honest as they’re swearing upon the thing most sacred to them. Everything else - rituals, spending vast sums of money, ‘2 souls become 1’ is complete rubbish and fairy tales. Exactly this!

  7. Non-Amritdharis didn't do Anand Karaj around Guru Sahib, and with the rise of old school Nirankaris under Baba Dayalthe Anand Karaj became popularized among non-amritdharis as well. The idea that Sikhs got married around a fire happened because lots of Sikhs who joined from the Hindu panth still continued this practice of havan marriage. I mean the reason Hindus get married around a fire is because that's one of their devi devte, to us it's just a fire. Naamdharis still do this fire marriage because they view Sikhi as a sect of Hindus.

  8. Depends if it is rural or urban settlers. As I stated above the vast majority of landholders from Lahore district were resettled in Ferozepur district. Out of a total of 341K acres allotted to landholders from Lahore 274K acres were allotted in Ferozepur district. Ludhiana got only a few thousand acres. This was mainly because Ludhiana had many colonialists who had moved to the canal colonies in the early 1900s and they were settled in their own villages and their losses were compensated by land left by the Muslims in nearby villages. Even though these colonialists had only left a few decades earlier from these villages, for many years they were still referred to a BAARIYE' meaning from the Bar which were how the wastelands were referred to prior to them becoming canal colonies. The only non-Ludhiana settlers they got were Rai Sikhs from Montgomery who were settled in the 'Bet' villages close to the Satluj river abandoned by the Muslims. Many urban Sikhs from Lahore itself settled in Ludhiana.

  11. You pathetic losers. If you guys even had any common sense, or if you were remotely associated, you'd reach out to someone IN the movement. They'll tell you just who Deep Sidhu's family is. You clowns believe every video you see? You people were the same type who jumped to call kharkus and Sant Ji agents because the Akalis said so. Our kaum is weak because of YOU. And by movement, I mean Khalistan, not this protest.

  12. Common intelligence tactic.Play both sides for their own agenda.Even Hamas was encouraged and funded by the Israeli government during its infant years: "In 1973, Yassin founded the social-religious charity al-Mujama al-Islamiya ("Islamic center") in Gaza as an offshoot to the Muslim Brotherhood. The Israeli authorities encouraged Yassin's charity to expand as they saw it as a useful counterbalance to the secular Palestine Liberation Organization.Yitzhak Segev, who was the Israeli military governor of Gaza at the time, recalled that they even funded his charity: "The Israeli government gave me a budget, and the military government gives to the mosques".Israel's religious affairs official in Gaza, Avner Cohen, later regretfully concluded that Hamas was created by Israel. He claimed to have warned his superiors not to back the Islamists."-Wikipedia(Hamas).

  13. Why has this thread been diverting to a hair issue (keshdhari/amritdhari/mona)? so weird Anyways getting back to the topic ....something about deep sidhu and others around him just doesn't sit right with me not saying he is an indian govt agent just yet but I remember reading somewhere on the net about when Indira gandhi sanctioned R&AW to help finance, arm and train up tamil tigers to wage war against sri lanka at the same time it is alleged an offshoot group within the R&AW also helped form BKI and other "sikh militant" groups to play both sides of the field. And if you see how many arms they had there was no way they could have had those modern weapons without the help of insiders within the Indian army and establishment. And its said that deep sidhu famous relative is a BK militant who was allegedly killed by the indian state in 1984 before op blue star. We know from history that a few credible sources in books and interviews over the years it is said that sant bhindranwale and his DDT followers had a minor gun battle with the BK group where Sant was eventually forced to shift from nanak niwas and into sri akal takht sahib. We know from 2014 released govt papers that operation sundown was proposed around the same time but was allegedly canceled by indira gandhi, the operation prior to operation blue star where they had allegedly had trained armed commando agents that had already infiltrated in nanak niwas ready to kidnapp/murder Sant bindranwale. But what wasn't released was information on who were these pro-government commando's? it seems to collaborate with the incident of the "inhouse" firefight between BK and DDT. And if Akal Takht (the parliament and voice of the Sikh nation) was the main target of India's terrorist operation then BK militant group or those associated with it have either been knowing or unknowing been patsy puppets of the Indian establishment. That is information is something all Sikhs worldwide should keep in mind and watch out for these suspicious elements (govt agents) trying to stir up useless violence in order to disrupt peaceful protests playing into the hands of the devious Indian establishment.

  15. I'm working on a job currently where the gaffer has the BBC Asian Network on all day (?), and I have to listen to that bull5hit. On the bright side I'm amused when their obviously anti-Sikh sentiment can't be utilised to blame the farmer's protests for spreading Corona because last year the Asian Network were literally creaming their kachche when BLM were "fighting the power" after George Floyd was taken out by that cop. When we had our annual Hyde Park '84 event at the same time last year, these BBC AN cucks were crying about "irresponsible Sikhs spreading Corona" but they said absolutely nothing when the American protests were going on last summer. I'm sure if these BBC clowns tried pulling the Covid guilt trip on the farmers this year they would've been verbally slapped down.

  16. Veerji, I just wanted to say that being Keshdhari or Mona, or even obedience of the panj kakkars should not be a definite measure of someones’s character who wants to do their part for the Panth. You had said mone Singhs should not be taken seriously in this regard. Bhul chuk maaf ?

Being Mona doesn’t mean a Sikh has given up on all the values. Do you see how divided we are already? What is the point of even making such comments. It will literally make people turn away. Someone might come on here to reconnect with Sikhi- and all this will do is turn them away again. Bhul Chuk Maaf Karyo?

But are OK with someone who is actively meeting and planning with the most ANTI SIKH force in India politics. Yeah lets be fine with someone who is OK with the BJP and their history of trying to eliminate sikhi.

  20. I personally think Deep Sidhu and other populatist personalities may not be an agent of the indian establishment but is a useful guy thats been manipulated and groomed by those advising him to do certain things that have negatively impacted the situations he was involved in. The whole laal killa thing is suspicious no one has yet provided answers who decided to go there and what were they trying to achieve? We know there's nothing to be achieved going there politically so what and who lead the whole thing? Deep sidhu says he got there much later into the protest at the red fort. Futhermore putting Sikh flags on laal killa is not a bad thing. We like seeing it and its the right of the Sikhs to have their flags on red fort aswell as hindus as they are part of the indian nation that liberated it from colonial british rule. There are many accelerationalists on all kinda of political extreme's and groups that want to push things towards violence while siting back comfortably and watching the drama. These people are the real puppet masters and real agents of manipulation that want to divert the farmer kisaan protests into something else so that legitimate demands that all or most people can support are pushed into something that only certain groups support.

  24. He has clarified those points in the last video he posted. He wasn't confronted by youth, or even at the Red Fort, this is a misconception. He left in a car and headed back to singhu. At singhu, near some dhaba, he was confronted by opposing union members. He prevented a clash and took off. The gave his number and returned the motorcycle to the guy he got the motorcycle from. There are some extremely inflammatory statements made against him by the unions, especially that younger guy rajinder singh. It's best for the morcha and deep himself to stay away for a while. Its time to let things cool down. We have to be careful about ejecting and demonizing our guys, even if they didn't make the best decisions. Everyone on our side made some mistakes. Its time to come together, strategize, and move forward. It's much easier to simply throw out guys along the way. What if dirt starts emerging on the union leaders? Then what? We reject them too? Won't take long for the whole leadership to crumble if we start throwing mud. We need to keep sher drishti. Look towards the enemy. Wash the laundry once we're back in punjab.

  25. That video on Facebook you just posted has the name ‘Balkar Dhillon’ in the background! This guy is well known communist and has an agenda. The reality of Deep Sidhu is that his great grandfather was actively involved in the freedom movement against the British. It also known that he spent time in prison with Bhagat Singh. His grandfather was imprisoned during the Punjabi Suba movement. His father and Chacha were both lawyers and fought cases for 80’s Kharkus. Whatever you may have read or heard about him, he has a solid background. Lakha and Deep are good guys and if it wasn’t for them the morcha would have been abandoned long ago. The comrades who are controlling the stage are gutless as well threatened by the youth activists. There is a power struggle going on and the government agencies are creating a divide and trying the best to tarnish the Deep and Lakha. Don’t fall for the ‘BS’ that is thrown about!

  31. As you will be aware December is quite a sombre time for us as with the shahidees of Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib Ji just last month, our Sahibzaday and Mata Gujri Ji. They sacrificed their lives for us, something we can never give back. But maybe in a little way we can show our support. On the night of the shahidee rather that sleeping on a nice comfy bed we could sleep on the floor just to show our respect and support for our ancestors. Do a small ardass and sleep on the floor maybe with a rajai/duvet on the floor and a blanket on top, it is a small gesture I know but well worth it as Guru Ji is always watching and they will bless those who in their own small way acknowledge the sacrifices made by His family.

  32. and r there any other pothis? (pran sangli) I have come across 4 in my reading. 1. goindwal pothi - i only have this one 2. guru harsahai pothi 3. ahiyarpur pothi 4. pothi harjas are these the 4 pothis that mcauliffe wrote about, or did he write about 5? if not, what are they and where can i find these pothis published in their complete form? ive come accross damdama sahib pothi, kartarpur pothi, patna pothi, and amritsar pothi. Ive have assumed that these are the full aad granth. am i right? I have also come across "MS 1245" manuscript 1245, amongst many other manuscripts. does anyone know anything about this how many are they? and what about the folios of pinjore being less in number than the ahiyarpur pothi which has 300 folios. i look for full bani of these pothis. so far, i have the book "an extant of the goindwal pothis". this book has it in complete form. it shortens the bani in SGGS and gives the other bani from people such as gulam sadasevak, sheikh sharif etc etc.. so i have this. WHAT about the others? and, ratan singh bhangu mentions 6 or 7 pothis that made up SGGS. WHAT and WHERE are these? other pothis like pran sangli, i have this as well (was not incuded in SGGS as per gur pratap suraj granth). if anyone can help me, it is much appreciated. Ultimately, i want all the pothis that have been used, and rejected from SGGS. Ive been asked to put together a proposal of sorts. any help would be appreciated. thanks Gurfateh >a good read.. http://www.<banned site filter activated>/Scriptures/ahiyapur/ahiyapur%20pothi.htm <

  37. its an indication that palsy has something to do with a split in brain functionality. well, thats what i believe anyway. because he had lots of things to worry about, it could be possible that his linerity of thought became split. perhaps!!!!!>>> it could be because he created gurdwara in guru gobind singh jiz name, after guru g said whoever creates a thaan in my name they will loose everything etc.. fateh

  39. well.. evidence wise its in the dastaar i suppose. but the way it happened is when they were making the railway line from mombasa to nairobi, they came to makindo. they could not pass through makindo because there was either 1. a powerful shakti of god there, or 2. the jungle was too thick. (i personally believe both). then, they had to go around the forrest, and they made it to nairobi. sikhs were employed as workers, as were kale. the sikhs braught guru granth sahib along with them and after every 10 miles or so, they used to set up camp with guru granth sahib. when they got to mombasa, they had to spend a while there. in doing so, a small wooden room was made for guru granth sahib, and this was later made into a bigger gurdwara. when the sikhs and railway workers went from makindo, they left a few kale behind to take care of guru granth sahib, because their time in mombasa during the building of the railway line was long, so the kale learnt how to do satkaar or guru maharaj. the kale used to do seva of maharaj, make langar and do seva of anyone who came there to that small gurdwara. then, one day, the kala either missed his duty, or came for his duty to do seva of maharaj and when he came there, guru gobind singh ji was there doing seva, but the kala didnt know who they were. so, after guru ji presumably, finished the hukamnama, guru gobind singh ji said, this is rehet, and told the kala how to do seva of guru maharaj (presumably because the kala wasnt taught properly how to do guru maharaj seva). so anyway, the kala went to nairobi where the majority of the sikhs were, and told of his experiences. at that time, all sikhs knew each other. but the kala said, he did not recognise who guru gobind singh ji was, who the 'sevak' was who done seva of guru maharaj. but he saw a foto of guru gobind singh ji, and said thats the man who told me. he was adement it was guru ji. no one believed him but since then, the amritdhari kala singhs are there in africa, presumably growing in number. there used to be a hand drawn foto of guru gobind singh ji on the wall of the gurdwara constructed at makindo, but it was either painted over, or broken down. guru ji came to kenya around 1960, when makindo gurgwara was being made. some say the kala saw guru gobind singh ji come down on a horse with their baaj etc. and others say that guru granth sahib was being neglected (because the kala was lazy; what new ey! ) amidist the woods, (this is what i believe), and guru ji had to come down and do seva as described in the above block text. horseshoe prints were seen after guru gobind singh ji went by the kala and there was no horse to be seen. (presumably this was during a short time frame). the actual original wooden palki that was constructed was by a sikh and theres a foto online of this wooden palki i believe. >> but yes. the kala singhs first adopted this so aptly named kenyan dastar. and they, the kala singhs taught the other indians how to tie the kenyan dastar, opposed to the indian dastar. some mentality like 'you are now kenyans so u must wear our dastar' may have been used! :laugh2: dhan guru! guru nanak dev ji also came as far as uganda. hence a town called bamunanika

  42. we must make sure the right hand is on top when we drink amrit we must use the right leg as the first when changing kachare we must give out prashaad in main darbaar halls with our right hand too. including the kara. the kirpaan. why is it that we believe in right handedness? the ‘saje hath’. I asked this question to my ‘main G (gurmukh)’. but I was left with the answer of, ‘there is a ghost on the left hand and it makes u do bad things; and that at the time of satjug everyone was right-handed. and as the times got worse till now, kaljug, the leftys increased’. o_O I then answered ‘ I don’t believe in that’ then the reply was that, ‘nowadays, people don’t believe in this because it is the faas of kaljug’ then I sed, ‘guruji says >>bin seva dhrig hath pair<<. no distinguishing between right or left’. I further replied, guru G says >doe kar jor< and that all duality must be done away with, and with hell on the left (o_O) and heaven on the right, look to neither, and marry all duality, paap and pun, kanchan loh, kacha meetha, khabe and saje, and just do > doe, kar JOR <. I want to know what sangat things of this. my main G (the gurmukh) is an amazing soul. has had Kirpa from multiple sants including a pooran sant. so try not to knock what ma G has said. jus to add, guruji further says, >fir pachtaane HATH falga< {u will regret the actions of ur hands}. again no distinguishing of ryt or left hand. however, guruji also used the word, dachan/dakhan alot in sggs. >danat dachan...< in aarti. dachan is technicaly south. but ppll think its the right hand side cuz they face east towards the sunrise. thus, south becomes associated with right handed. this is also known as sun pooja to 'soorya'. and we do not worship any sun god! this is what guru nanak dev ji stoped with the whole 'ppl thinking that they were giving water to their dead reletives cuz they are thirsty' thing. - from this, we should not believe in right handed ness! in DG, guruji says, >gusse aaee kaalka, hath saje lai tarvaar kau< ...in the battle kali came with the sword in her right hand. I dout that this has any significance in the non-use of the left hand. kali was prob right handed in other words! and, bhavani (durga) held a sword in her left hand too. (>khabe dasat naachaee..< and (>khabe dasat Ubhaari..<) I want to know what sangat thinks of left and right handedness; bearing in mind the above quotes. {{this is a long first post cuz normally I wait for the discourse in these topics to gain impetus, but most of the time it never does.. so Iv just put here 1 time all that I think..}} much obliged! gurfateh!

  43. i myself am left handed. i dont believe in 'handedness' however, i feel that because our guru gave us kachera right leg thing {aka, i like to call it the kachera dance }, kara on right hand, kirpaan on our left side, for use with our right hand, and right hand on top of left hand for amrit sunchaar (when we drink it), we must follow that. and thats what i do. my final word on heaven n hell, its just a metaphore re left n right,... but when it comes to our guru, we cant say anything, but lisen and keep the rehet as strait as we can. i.e. we aint no one to change it.
    1 point
  44. well..yes.. i agree that muzis do it too.... the whole clean urself with theb left hand and eat with the ryt.. but... we do do it with the amrit sunchaar too.. what do u think about this? bout giving prashaad/ drinking amrit from ryt and, and the kashera ryt leg thing?
    1 point
  45. NB. as far as I see, there is no such thing as right handedness. apart from 1 thing. guru ji was right handed. thus. kara. kirpaan. and kachera rehet is thus kept. I still don’t understand the amrit sunchaar and prashad thing tho.. thanks for reading!!

  46. sant ji did in fact say this, but here is the entire speech, theres 5 parts total. it would help if you listen to all 5 parts to better understand the bigger picture, because if we just take out bits and parts of such speeches and not get a full understanding of the entire situtation, we will think sant ji against hindus or is in favor of killing hindus. but sant ji does a very gud job himself of why he said this. the 5000 hindu part is in part 2, at around 8 minutes into it. this speech is taking place at manji sahib divan hall, darbar sahib. but in the end, no sant ji didnt kill 5000 hindus, or didnt need to i guess. cuz the situation was resolved very quickly after sant ji told everyone he would do this. its all explained in the speechs below.
