WJKK WJKF..... I have a child who I am teaching the Mool Mantar first to recite in Punjabi and soon as he grows, he will need to have understanding of what he is reciting (for I believe this is the singly greatest mistake Sikh parents don't do as compared to muslims even to a small degree.) It is often stated by Sikh Scholars that the essence of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji's teachings (and in effect Sikhism's) was in the Mool Mantar and everything is related to it. Also interpretation is obviously subjective but below is what I am comfortable with (though for my child it will be simplified again) Please read and share: In the name of The one God. …

Why are there so many profiles on FB of nihangs who worship durga and kali ? If we're going to be shakti worshippers, then why beat around the bush with identity crisis. why not just accept we're hindus if we're going to worship the same gods and goddesses they do ? this is frustrating to see fellow sikhs go down this line

FOOLS WHO WRANGLE OVER FLESH FOREWARD The authors of this paper (one a vegetarian and one meat eating Sikh) wrangled hard with their own common sense which told them, “don’t be a fool and start wrangling over an issue which our great Guru’s dismissed as not worthy of discussion”. We did however feel as amateur Sikh Historians and commentators on Sikh affairs that we should use our knowledge and experience to clarify what is such a controversial issue. This essay out to be objective as possible but we ourselves probably taking one side as we waded through the arguments and counter arguments produced by vegetarian and meat eating Sikhs. One thing that has incensed us is t…

WJKK WJKFateh! Just wondering do you wear bana to the gurdwara? If so, why? Do you think the bana brings haumay to a person? Meaning, like I wore bana yesterday to the gurdwara with my sri sahib, and i got some weird stares, I feel like people think I'm trying to get attention. I don't get it, I take it as a hukam of Guru Maharaj to be tyaar bar tyaar always and come in bana to the gurdwara.. These days everyone wants to be a Sant, and forgot the whole concept of Sant-Sipahi, and just discard that point of view.. I don't know, I just need some feedback as to who wears/doesn't wear bana. Bhul chuk maaf!! WJKK WJKFateh!

In this kaljug it is important that we, as gursikhs, stay away from Kaam. Kaam is the foremost of the vikaars--Kaam, Krodh, Lobh, Moh, Ahankar. I thought I would make a post on this subject as this is a vikaar which effects all of us, especially the youth. I know it is a touchy subject, but we need to talk about it in order to know how to fight it. The usual answer we get when we ask about it is do more naam simran and read more bani and you will be fine. It isn't a very detailed nor helpful instruction. So, here are a few things we can do to fight kaam in our everyday lives. Please add to this list with your experiences, thoughts, and knowledge. Thinking about kaam logic…

My dad has a thing about Muslims...(not to be rude of anything) erm, he says that they can't be trusted that even Guru Gobind Singh Ji said that..He always tells this story of Guru Ji putting his arm into some sesame seeds and loads got stuck to it and Guru Ji said that the amount of seeds stuck to his hand shows the amount f lies a Muslim has told or will tell...I have no idea where he got that from. But when I say that he had many Muslims fighting in his army and singing for him or writing for him'; he says 'they weren't real muslims' and he also says that Sikhs aren't supposed to even look at a Muslim in any kind of 'that way' manner whatsoever...He says its a huge s…

Khalsa ji, Quite often we don't realise how samrath our Guru Sahib is. I watched the story of Vasakhi on Sunday which was on BBC 1 and again two ppl Sonia Deal and Tony Nagra, who are always trying to bring Sikhi in the media, but with made up stories, like the one about Vasakhi, when we have a real eye witness account. Why do we be little our Great Guru Sahib's not only these jokers who are not even sikhs (TONY &Sonia) but people who are dressed like Gursikh? Why is there such an erge to fit in with the masses and then alter our history so the western world can accept us'? I rather tell it like it is and not be accepted than alter our history I don't care if …

i have an old gutka (from before 1947 probably) that has a different ardaas compared to a new gutka i got. the old one's ardaas mentions 4 takhts and nothing about the gurudwaras in pakistan that we have been separated from. the new one mentions 5 takhts and the gurdwaras in pakistan. i didn't know that ardaas can be changed. who has the authority to change it? :T: how many times has it been modified like this? why was there a need to modify and add more to the ardaas? most importantly, what was the original ardaas written by Gurus?

Bhai Amrik Singh ajnala and Giani Ram Singh made dozen trips to gurdwara amb sahib. Gianni ram Singh and sangat with him took night watch sewa recently. Both belong to damdami taksal jathabandi. However, as per government's official jatehdar of taksal is bhai dhumma who surprisingly is still not seen anywhere except last time sangat seen him in Mumbai more than a month ago. His phone(s) are switched off and nobody knows where bhai dhumma is despite he gave a promise to bhai gurbax of support before the start hunger strike at amb sahib. --- Absence of taksal jatehdar during such crucial time is raising doubts. What reason there is of not visiting amb sahib, even badal da…
