Sangat Ji, I need your assistance. I'm a scientist by nature and as such do not readily accept the notion of Spirits and Evil Spirits and Curses. However, I have spoken to some Amritdharis who vehemently belive in spirits and say their relatives are cursed or have been cursed. They also have said they have 'cured' people by carrying our a Jap of Guru Nanaks', and have seen spirits leaving the bodies of these people. I would like to know if, within Sikhism, we accept evil spirits exist and can take over people. I would also like to know if we belive in curses and that people are able to curse us. I'm looking for quotes from GGSJ as opposed to your viewpoints because i…

Next month witnesses the most important auctions of a generation for the Sikh community as a rare piece of body armour that experts believe belonged to the tenth Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh, will be auctioned in one of London’s most prestigious auction houses. The armour plate carries the opening verse of “Akal Ustat” as found on the Guru’s personal “Raikot” sword: The inscription has been delicately applied on the plate’s central panel in gold koftgari, the traditional technique of overlaying gold wire onto a steel surface. The floral border and buckles that would have fastened the set together with straps are also lavishly decorated in gold koftgari work. In keeping…

Ajit Vadakayil article is the most insulting , racist full of lies . Some of the points he mention are : http://ajitvadakayil.blogspot.in/2013/07/unknown-history-of-sikhs-and-sikhism.html The Queen Bee could NOT deliver justice to the poor Sikhs of 1984 , who were massacred . But here they are successful in amputating Sikhs from Bharat Mata, under pressure from separatist Canadian Sikhs . In 1905, Arur Singh, manager of the Golden Temple , on being goaded by the British ordered the removal of all Hindu idols from the precincts of the Golden Temple. Till then the Hindu Brahmins had presided over different Sikh marriage ceremonies. Above : 1857 War of Independence-…

It is very strange that he wrote a lengthy post on his facebook supporting the gay rights in sikhi and so on. Sometime later he deleted it. I found that his page has similar post but no personal opinion on it. It is very stupid of him to say something that our dharam is totally against it. I just want people to beware of such moderan liberal sisy pracharaks.

Whilst listening to an internet radio station, I overheard a song being played which focused on the unity of certains teachings between Rastafarians and Sikh, with particular emphasis on the hair (Rasta's also keep the hair and beard). I found an interesting quote from Wikipedia which reads as follows: "....The wearing of dreadlocks is very closely associated with the movement, though not universal among (or exclusive to) its adherents. Rastas believe dreadlocks to be supported by Leviticus 21:5 ("They shall not make baldness upon their head, neither shall they shave off the corner of their beard, nor make any cuttings in the flesh.") and the Nazarite vow in Numbers 6:5…
